for this fall, a set of haiku. i hadn't written any poems for a few years, but i had fun.
and i'll credit matthias for the haiku idea, which i hadn't tried before.
----

fall is here, my friends
the woods are now red and gold
streams flow, on and on

mossflower is home
mice, squirrels, otters, voles, shrews, hares...
an abode for us

caressingly stroll
sycamores, elms, pines, oaks, firs
always new beauty

firm oaks' boughs o'erhead
thick boughs of many seasons
sturdy ground here now

slender pines tower
sun-lit needles underfoot
gray bark its own sight

elms, shining, greet us
in a leaf, a score of worlds
oval, bent, veined, free

beyond forestline
redwall, home amidst our home
glowing, amidst fall

Nice work, crumb! It has a nice sense of imagery to it :)
"Cowards die a thousand times, a warrior only dies once. The spirits of all you have slain are watching you, Vilu Daskar, and they will rest in peace now that your time has come. You must die as you have lived, a coward to the last!" -Luke the warrior

crumb, this is awesome! You can definitely see your character behind the words and I think that is a wonderful thing in writing, and it makes it really unique.
