Interesting... pine martins and wolverines, too.  There's even a ferret-badger!  Did anyone notice Lutrinae

My guess is the topic is to discuss the fact that badgers and otters are considered goodies, while their relatives are considered baddies in Redwall.

Badgers, particularly, don't look like ferrets, etc., at all, so I'm sure they don't even think about the fact they're somewhat related to the vermin! Why would they want to!
