Squirrel on the Long Patrol (poem)

[Mossbrook]

A squirrel named moss bank, moss bank the black
Thought to be a hare, no hare features she lacked.
Two tall ears, a short fuzzy tail
On the long patrol, she never failed
Very Quite a harelike voice
A captain cloak, her color of choice
But could those ears just be black spoons?
And after all those summer noons,
Could she be no hare at all?
This happened at dinner this fall
One ear, so black, fell in her soup
And with a face of surprise, she said, "oops!"
A squirrel like ear showed in place
Of the hare like ear with which she traces,
Enemies, vermin, stoats, rats too,
But gladly only the hare, a real hare, a hare names Lou,
Saw the ear fall in her soup.
Lou the hare was no seceret teller, so she said,
" chaps! Chaps! Look at that, fellers! "
Moss brook thought her secret was told,
When Lou the hare said, "the cellar hog's getting old!"
And so the cellar hog was there, with there favorite drink, juiced diced pear.
They never found out about her ear
And with the juiced pear, they drank and cheered.

Very Nice Poem Mossbrook! Oh, and Welcome to the forum! This might be moved to Fan Fiction, but I'll let the Mods decide. This poem reminded me of that Hare who thought he was a squirrel in one Redwall book. Can't remember which one however...

That was Jodd, the squirrel hare who thought he was a hare. And thanks for all the compliments! I put it in the cellars because I thought It was junk. It being moved to fan fiction is really cool, because people can give compliments but not mean them, but if people thought it was junk it would've stayed in the cellars, lol

Oh and also the spell check took my name, Mossbrook, and changes it to moss bank. Whoops.
Mossbank is NOT my name! Lol!
