Hey team!
DanielofRedwall, Jukka the Sling, and I sat down to workshop ideas on how we can bring enticing, new changes to the forum. As we assembled a master list, we found that a lot of these ideas would do better if some existing forum issues were addressed, first. So in addition to our plans for events, competitions and promotions, we've also decided to get to work on a kind of "scrub down" of the forum. That is, clean up a collection of the boards, revise the staff layout, and build up a project dynamic before moving forward so that we can get to work with a new, revived community attitude. Here is a list of changes that we will be working on over the days to come:
List of items on the RAF Clean-up:1. Restructuring the staff
- Both Lutra and NovaNocturne are being removed from the staff list and will now be staff alumni
- We're now exploring opportunities to grow the staff team with some new local moderator(s)
- Removed staff alumni from "staff list (http://redwallabbey.com/forum/index.php?action=staff)" - this is only going to be used to refer to active staff
2. Content reorganization
- The Licensed Works and Fan Works boards will be undergoing structural renovation to bring more emphasis to community works. Among the changes are dissolving the "Redwall Fan Works" general folder, bringing its child boards to the front, and the additional creation of a Redwall Media board
- Updating the FanFic and Fan Art directories. May add a Recipes directory.
- Clean up the RP folder and its sub-folders. Lots of inactive, old and sometimes abandoned RP's in there that need to be locked and shuffled (process started but long way to go)

3. Staff Projects
- Mods and admins will now be given formal assignments on occasion. Examples: Update the ______ board directory; start planning a new extravaganza; brainstorm two new ideas for the forum; go into The Cellars without being eaten alive (lol); update the Forum History board; take lead on member reports for the month; etc...
Part of being a staff member involves active participation and setting an example for the community to follow. We want to show everyone how special this forum is to us, and one way to do that is by challenging each other to grow and take care of this site as we move forward. So we hope you all are as excited as we are, because don't forget - this is just our stuff going on so that we can
start getting back to the fun events, competitions and promotions we're here for!
