Title: The Orchard
Post by: Blaggut on October 26, 2014, 05:20:33 AM
It seems no one ever looks at or posts in The Orchard, and simply post in the Front Lawns. Does anyone else think it should be removed?

Well, the thing to remember is that The Orchard is very much a niche forum. It's there so that if people have made non-Redwall works and want to promote them, they can show them off. With such a narrow mission, it's somewhat to be expected that there won't be as much going on there as in other forums. Also, having a topic there is by member request -- if someone doesn't ask, their work won't get in. Thus, it's quite possible that people aren't taking full advantage of this resource, and that this is contributing to the admitted lack of activity there.

Anyhow, there currently aren't any plans to remove the Orchard, but we're certainly open for any suggestions as to how it could be improved.

Commonly, most things that people want to show off that aren't Redwall related are posted in Cavern Hole, for example, Jet posted a topic on a book his father had written. I'm sure that if he was asked, he would gladly have a topic in the Orchards, but it seems that Cavern Hole isn't a bad place to show such stuff.
