Okay, I'm pretty sure that means editing with the edit button instead of the modify button now, because that's what I was doing. Because you stay on the same page rather than go to a new one, but the forum can't register it.

Modify is the one that says modify on it. It's in the top right. Edit is in the bottom right.

Not really the same. Click the one on the top and it brings you to the regular posting page with all the emoticons and quick buttons like for bold and images, but with the bottom one it is only what you can type.
