I once joined an RP (Defiance (http://redwallabbey.com/forum/index.php?topic=5300.0)) that was loosely based off of the Harry Potter series, but that one died before we could do much. I really like the idea of a magic school RP, though! So I may very well join this if it doesn't start before Wednesday. :)
I'm interested, but I haven't read the books, I only know the loose premise of it. :P

We won't be following the plot, unless there is a strong demand from you guys to do so. If more than 5 people are interested I will post character sheet. :D
What sort of plot would we be following in this? Would it just be a casual "Let's all go to Hogwarts!" RP, or would it have some sort of driven story?
Also, would the teachers be the same as in the Harry Potter series (if so, would we be including the teachers that died at some point in the series? And which Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher would we have?), or would they be generic teachers/other players' characters?
These questions are assuming, of course, that we'll be playing as students/teachers at Hogwarts. Am I correct in assuming this?
(Sorry, I know I'm asking a lot of questions. I'm annoying like that at times. :P)
Your questions are good. We all want (probably) some kind of battle at the end, so I think I am going to have a story, but the first parts should be starting as a casual "Let's all go to Hogwarts!" RP.
Also, would you want everyone who's playing a student to be the same year, or are multiple years allowed? (As in, I'd be playing a sixth year, but you might be playing a second year, and someone else could be playing a third year, etc.)
I actually want to be a teacher. No, Quidditch captain of the Ravenclaw team. 8)

Personality: Obsessed with math and stuff. Bossy, but doesn't like being bossed around. Laughs loudly. Goes into theoretical stuff, very scientific (not good in a magic school :P). Never misses the chance to go into a very loud explanation about math. Has too much energy, but hates running. (What a combination!)

Age: 16
Appearance: Tall, and muscular, but NOT A GARY STU (see below)
Year: sixth
Other: 12.5 inch cherry wand. NOT A GARY STU - hates Quidditch - ("Matey, you'll have to burn my rudder to get it off the ground"). He's probably good at Beater, but who knows? When quidditch game comes, he's usually studying arithmancy or something. (He has to be literally dragged out to watch - or maybe if it's one of his best friends, he might think about it.) He also speaks a little too fast.
He was one of those people (i forgot the name - stallers?) who was stuck with the hat for five minutes undecided. The hat was stuck between gryffindor, hufflepuff, and ravenclaw, he did not want to go to gryffindor or hufflepuff (cause based off of me!) and so was put in ravenclaw.
Came in as a fifth year (when he was 15) - very rare occasion.
If you need some core ideas, there's also unicorn tail hair and pheonix feather. (although it'd be better to check the wiki)
Almost all Ravenclaws have dragon heartstring.
Where did you get that information?
Observe. About 80 percent of the Gryffindors have phoenix, about 83 percent of the Ravenclaws have dragon, and about 60 percent of Hufflepuffs have unicorn.

Personality: Not necessarily smart (although I can be at times), but witty and a quick-thinker. Often tries to lighten the situation by adding humour, and is physically unable to do nothing for extended periods of time. (Meaning, if I'm not doing something, I go insane.)

Other: 103/4 inch ebony wand with a unicorn core. (I took the Pottermore test, so I should know. ::)) Nearly became a Slytherin, but requested to be placed in Ravenclaw instead. (Seriously, I took this quiz (http://www.gotoquiz.com/pottermore_sorting_quiz_all_possible_question) (it's every possible Pottermore Sorting Hat question), and my scores for Ravenclaw and Slytherin were only ten points off from each other. :P) Chaser on Ravenclaw's Quidditch team.

I'd prefer closer friends, but not best friends. Like, for example, Fred and Harry. Talk to each other with some friendly banter often, but don't hang around each other a lot. That migbht play out differently in the RP though.

Would those second characters be friends of our first characters (like my Liadan, Colum, and Aldebar) or second characters to be played by us in the RP? I'm thinking you mean the latter?
Yeah, to be played by us.
If it's all right, I'd prefer to keep Anya as my primary character, but every now and then post from one of my secondary characters' point of view. You'll be having Arithmancy with Liadan, anyway.
