If I could have talked to him while he was still alive, I would have told him that his books have been so inspiring to me, and I want to make movies out of his novels when I become a movie director/animation specialist.

What a great topic. I don't know what I'd say. I'd just stare at him for ages, and then probably give him a hug.  ;) He just seemed like such a huggable person!  :D Nah, I'd probably tell him that he inspired my love of reading and that he's someone I really look up to. And then hug him.  ;)

I wish I could have met him, but he never came to Australia, unfortunately. I was going to write him a letter, but I never got around it it. One of the biggest regrets of my life.
Received mostly negative reviews.

I'd probably tell him how amazing he was to me and ask to have a picture with him ;D

I'd ask him what his favorite scene was in any Redwall book, and tell him that he's the best author of all time (if he were still alive)

I'd ask for writing tips and to have a picture with him... Tell him thanks for the great books...... Man I'm bad at this.

I would compliment, interview, and encourage him to write more books.

I would ask him how did he come up with Redwall.

I have been wondering the same thing for a while now.

I think I would have been tongue-tied for quite a while if I had ever had the chance to meet him! Like Daniel, I always meant to send him a letter telling him how much his books meant to me and how they changed my life for the better, but I never got around to it, and now it's too late. If I'd had the chance to meet him in person I hope I'd have been able to tell him that it was his books that really got me into reading and they still influence me, even as an adult.

I would ask him what pets he had
He had a west highland terrier named Teddy. He's talked about him quite a bit in interviews and speeches.
