Mr. Death was a grass snake from Rakkety Tam. He acted like he was a poison adder to get travelers to give away their belongings.
Actually "Mister Death" was an adder, Brookflow just thought he was a grass snake and knocked him out. But he turned out to a legitimate adder

My vote goes to Mister Death, not because of the snake himself, but rather the events that surround his appearance. That bit in Rakkety Tam always amused me.

If I'm not mistaken, that followed the former, or something very like it. They established the name 'Mister Death', before getting to a further point in the conversation.

I voted for Slariss because we don't know what kind of snake he is (If you think he's an adder, he's green, adders aren't green) I think he's a type of python called a green tree python (not to be confused with the emerald tree boa) or a green mamba

The Hydra Siblings from Triss
Them and their storyline was very cool. I really liked how Brian went out of his way to throw in a "fairy tale monster" without making things to loopy. Shame they had to be killed by the some of the biggest stiffs in the series :-[
And hey, where's Sicariss from Doomwyte? (Showing little snakes everywhere you don't have to be an adder to have a big role!). Deathcoiler, Slariss and Mr. Death--who were barely in their stories--are here, but she isn't?! :o

Yeah, where is Sicariss? Can't believe I didn't notice her not being on there before.
Baliss was pretty awesome, even if he was blind (that kinda made him better). And that is a valid question: where is Sicariss on the list?

Mr. Death is my favorite snake character because of what he and Brooky did. Another great one was McSnake from the song Yoofus sung about himself. I think he was the only adder that got called a 'subtracter' in the series.

I still like Asmodeus and the snakes from Triss the most. Those snakes were some of the only good things in that book for me.

I mean, other than the ones who everyone knows.
Asmodeus is the original big bad snake, but my vote goes to Zassaliss. After being bound to his brother and sister at the tail by Sarengo's mace and chain, he organized them into a lethally effective trio; they hunted, attacked, and survived together as a cohesive unit under his leadership. That's pretty impressive!
He was probably one of BJ's most creative antagonists.
