Couldn't you, like, put that in a spoiler?
That's gonna haunt my nightmares.
it looks like a mouse to me, not a possum.

it looks like a mouse to me, not a possum.
It is because the spider is so big
possums don't even live in places where spiders are that big. spiders like that would have to be in Brazil or Africa. and either that is a new-born possum or a mouse.

The article provided says that is is a tarantula (that lives in the amazon) who killed a possum (who also lived in the amazon, though it is probably a baby)
"Every interaction was brutal (in its own way), but none was perhaps as vicious as the late-night slaughter of a mouse opossum by a tarantula (theraphosid spider).
"The spider was on the ground in the leaf litter holding the opossum by the neck region," the researchers described in their paper, noting that the opossum — roughly the size of a softball — was still alive when they spotted the pair.
.....
Upon reviewing footage of the rare occurrence, Robert Voss, a mammologist at the American Museum of Natural History confirmed that it appeared to be the first-ever documentation of "a large mygalomorph spider [tarantula] preying upon opossums," National Geographic reports."
^From the article Tungro linked.
that clears things up. we had one at my house eating our rotton pumpkins that was HUGE. like 2ft tall and a foot wide. ridiculously huge.
A opossum, not a spider, right? ;D
Both?
neither? ;D ;)

the possum. my mom goes insane if she sees a daddy-longleg approaching her, let alone having a huge spider on the property
though we did find a black widow on our front porch once...

Dang!!! That's a whopper!!
13ft 7in long, 52in wide at chest, and 700-750Ib in weight
just glad I don't live in FL.
I know, right?
That was actually in Georgia, but we do have plenty of them in FL
MDs close enough for me. bleck.
the gator.
...Not sure if that was his name, but okay...
the alligator
...I am still confused...
Bleck, more commonly spelled "blech," is an exclamation of disgust.
...Not sure how that applies here, but okay...
they are gross and do gross things, okay?
You think gators are gross? They seem pretty cool to me as long as you don't bother them...
Or look tasty in front of them.
Wild one fear humans because they are not familiar with them, the only time they will attack is if you attack them or if they are trying to show off in mating season. It is the domestics ones you have to be afraid of, they are used to humans and will do whatever they feel like.

did you know that from 8 o'clock this morning to now I have 34 unread topics? ridiculous. you dinae even wait fa' me!! ;D
You take to long :P
my Tuesday schedule:
1) go to school, leave about 8 and leave school at 3:15
2) go immediately to our piano and guitar lessons in Virginia which we are they until 5:30
3) dress for our scouts in the car
4) pick up McDonald's and eat in the car
5) my parents switch cars somewhere along the way
6) go to scouts until 9, but we often hang around for a bit after
7)finally get home about 10 if we don't make any other stops.
between 8 in the morning and 10 at night i'm not even home... :'(
School off today?
I feel like I am going to vomit, so yes, I stayed home. I would go to school but I've done that before and puked on everyone's lunch a while back so I don't think they're too eager to have me come today...
You didn't have to go into that much detail you know, but it does kind of fit the topic :P
O:-)

(We should probable stop before we get in trouble since this is not in the cellars)
to the cellars!
No! If we go to the cellars it will stain my awesome topic! (:P)
..then we just talk about something else?
uh.. my cousins' are most likely to be in the same grade as I, making it 4 people in that one class that ar related, that would be great!
This seems to fit here.
On the subject of poison ivy that others were talking about in the jobs thread, one of my uncle's friends decided it would be a good idea to try to make himself immune to poison oak. So he apparently made a soup of it, ate it, and nearly died. Afterwards, however, he was able to destroy a thicket of the stuff without getting a rash or anything.
well that sounds like it was well thought out..
my mom went to a party once and it was in a field and the party had helicopter rides over the freshly cut field. my mom came home looking like she was an alien from mars. she was unrecognizable. the poison ivy was blown up from the freshly cut field, got all over her, in her lungs, everywhere, she almost died, too. this was a while ago (a lllloonngg) while ago though) so she is all better now.
Interestingly enough, from what we can tell, I'm not allergic to poison ivy at all.
be glad. I am happy for you. you will live life without that fear haunting you. ;D

Could you by any chance get a recipe along with whatever the doctors gave him? I could find them useful...
I may have experienced a few of these...

Tammo's just busy in real life. Never fear, he'll pop in- notice that 'no' isn't an option, and get to work on one. But he *is* busy.

Kingkiller is really good so far. (Jack's fanfic, yes I am helping him get more people to read it.)

Ah, palindromes. What's annoying is when the other pair in your team (by the way, I'm not talking about Exploding Kittens here) doesn't know what a palindromic number is, so has to ask (which is fine, since you were allowed to ask and be told for that, plus we won anyway).
It's kind of ironic, though, that palindrome isn't a palindrome.
Palinilap. Emordrome. Palindromemordnilap.

*Sticks a taco (NOT a taco cat) in Teer's mouth when she opens it.*
*blinks again and swallows taco* (And no, I didn't chew it. Hence why I'm now choking on it)

Persons, you may be straying from the subject a smol tad.
Perhaps indeed ;D. My heimlich maneuver is pretty astonishing though, I must say. *Heimliching intensifies.*
*stops choking due to Kade's heroic actions* Thank you so much, Kade! You're my hero!
No thanks necessary! It was all in a days work, m'am. *Note: Heimlich maneuver is still activated.*
Let's keep things on topic, please. A reminder this is not the Cellars.
Sorry about that, I could have sworn I checked earlier just to be sure and it was the cellars :P
Something astonishing, huh... cats carry mind controlling parasites and have already infected over 22% of the U.S. alone!
*raises eyebrow* That is astonishing, even if it does sound rather doubtful. What evidence is there to suggest this?
Just google toxoplasmosis. It's a pretty well known thing at this point, actually.
Or random conspiracy theories. It's probably there somewhere.
Literally look it up if you don't believe me. Or continue in ignorance, your choice.

According to Wikipedia, 11% of people in the USA are infected with toxoplasmosis.
Ok?
By the by, the part about mind-control was a joke, since I'm assuming that wasn't obvious. There have been studies showing what some of the effects of the parasite might be, but it's still a not very well known thing.
I guessed that. Although this isn't The Cellars, so it's probably best to keep it real.
Toxoplasmosis is real, we primarily get it from cats nowadays (or so I'm lead to believe), and it does seem to have some mind altering influences. ^-^

Thermo-electric sensors are fun, aren't they?

I wonder how things are going for the new Lord of the Rings TV series.
Probably not that well, considering the current world problems.
