The quarry at twilight, an eerie place. The wind gusted through the soft stone and caused flurries of dust to rise. The area had been lit by torches in sconces, the light flickering and dancing as the wind played with it. A wide part of the quarry was roped off as boundaries for dueling contestants. The roped area included a pile of large boulders, an open sandy area, and sheer rock walls. High on the edge of the quarry rested a small booth in which the tournament judges watched.

A voice echoed down to the contestants. "Round one! Danndil versus Folgrim! Begin!"

Dannflor

Danndil stood when the voice sounded. He gritted his teeth for he new Folgrim was going to be a hard Contestant.
His Blue cloak swirled and like lightning drew his two sabers. He circled Folgrim unsure if to attack or wait. He jumped and came down yelling ''Blood and Fur'' he slashed at Folgrims head.

Quick as a snake Folgrim ducked and went in to headbutt Dandil, he moved away and whipped out his axe. Folgrim smoothly moved into a crouch and showed his sharpened teeth to his opponent. His body slowly started to shake as he crept forward, axe in hand he charged towards Dandil and swung his axe downwards hoping to spilt his opponents skull.

Folgrim ducked down and spun, his axe whipped around towards Dandil at waist height, Folgrim growled with rage and swung his axe in in a short burst. He moved backwards towards a slope and stood there glaring at his enemy, it was almost as if he was toying with his opponent.

Dannflor

Dandill charged his sabers swinging down at his opponents head. He stopped just above his head and with speed swung at Folgrim's stomach trying to get him.

Folgrim smiled grimly and turned his axe so the sabre blade would get caught inbetween the steel and the wood, now to dsiarm him. Sidestepping he flung his arms back hoping he would disarm his opponent by flinging the sabre away from them. Folgrim aimed for the throat, he had accidentaly swung to hard and was facing the other way, stumbling.

Dandil took the advantage and ran toward Folgrim, he twirled of his cape and flung it in the opposite direction. He felt the blood rising as he charged, In the corner of his eye he saw the quarry edge. He leapt and started scaling the wall, when he was quarter way up he jumped at Folgrim two sabers glinting in the sun.

OOC: My first one for the contest

Folgrim turned and Dandil crashed into him, he lay on the floor with his opponent crouched over him. Folgrim's axe had been spun out of reach, he snarled and aimed a punch at Dandil's temple, he slithered under him and whacked his rudder aiming for the spine, he leaped away and grabbed his axe. Folgrim slowed his breathing and crept up a ledge the dusk had turned the stone a pale brown colour which would help camouflage him. Concentrating on thinking and trying to fight away his anger he held his axe in a defensive position and stalked towards Dandil thinking of how he would enjoy eating his opponent. He readjusted his eyepatch, half closed his other eye and scanned the area for the best place to attack from.

Dannflor

Dandil bent over in pain as Folgrim hit him. As Folgrim moved away he thought of his dead parents and a rage swept over him. He glared at his opponent and picked his sabers, the pain went away and he started to stalk his opponent frowning deeply. He raised the two sabers over his head and charged Folgrim. He knew if he lost he would be food for the mad otter. ''A very hard contestant'' he thought to himself ''I must keep on guard all the time''. He charged with all his might and swung at Folgrim's legs.

Folgrim turned to face his opponent and jumped onto a rock wincing as the blade slashed his ankle, he smirked at Dandil and taunted him while moving steadily onto a higher rock 'What's the matter you cross eyed buffoon? Not brave enough to face me like a true warrior?' Folgrim flashed a quick grin showing his sharp teeth. He twirled his axe and grinned in anticipation, while he had been talking he had slwoly moved towards a pile of stones in a pile. He swung his axe and cried 'DIIIIEE!' his axe blade struck the bottom rock sending the whole pile crashing down towards Dandil. Folgrim crouch and watched hoping his plan had worked.

The rocks came tumbling down and hit Dandil with a yelp he jumped back. He laughed and said ''nearly got me there Snot nose face you like a real warrior ha you don't do it you barrel bottom excuse for an otter. With that he jumped onto the rock and swung his sabers at Folgrim both ways.

Folgrim smoothly ducked his oponents attacks by falling flat on the surface then bouncing back up though not quick enough to avoid a cut along his chest, he laughed 'Why should I care about being a true warrior? I just want my next meal you thick-headed, lazy, addle-tounged fraud, your nothing but scum.' Folgrim quickly spun and aimed his strong rudder at his opponens stomach he flung his axe up and swung downwards and led that into a roll which would bring him too close for Dandil to use his sabers. Folgrim threw a punch with his left paw and aimed a blow with his axe at Dandils throat.

Dannflor

Dandil swerved the attack with the ax but the punch hit him in the jaw knocking him to the ground. He quickly picked himself up, He said in a deep voice ''You are right the way's of a warrior is not made for savages like you'' He picked up his sabers and flew at Folgrim eyes ablaze with the light of Battle. He laughed as he hit Folgrim.

Folgrim Ducked and growled silently as the blade slashed his shoulder, he rammed his good shoulder into Dandil's waist so as he would trip over. Folgrim turned and picked up a stone lobed it at Dandil's temple and slashed sideways quickly, aiming for the waist.
