I wasn't that sure where to put this. Mods feel free to move it.
These are the wooden swords that I've made
1. Knight Sword
(http://th04.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2013/260/0/5/wooden_sword_by_leatho_shellhound-d6moukf.jpg)
I hand carved it, it is made out of wood. The handle piece is a metal tube from a garden solar light. I painted and put a seal on it.
I made the leather sheath and sewed it together.
2. Viking Sword
(http://th06.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2014/051/2/4/viking_sword_by_leatho_shellhound-d77al2z.jpg)
I hand carved it, it is made out of wood. The handle piece is a mixture of string, glue and paint. I painted and put a seal on it.
I made the leather sheath and sewed it together.
3. Fantasy Sword
(http://th08.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/i/2014/051/0/0/fantasy_sword_by_leatho_shellhound-d77alj0.jpg)
I hand carved it, it is made out of wood. The handle piece is a mixture of string, glue and paint. The pommel stone is a button and the sword decoration is made from scissor blades I painted and put a seal on it.
4. Gladius
(http://th00.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2014/051/6/b/gladius_by_leatho_shellhound-d77am88.jpg)
I hand carved it, it is made out of wood. The handle piece is a metal tube from a garden solar light. The pommel stone is a carved candle a lollipop stick and some clay. I painted and put a seal on it.
The sheath is leather which I sewed together, with plastic locket and chape that I cut out of an ice cream container, material and four key chains which I sewed on and painted. And the belt was made from leather lace and a soop can opener.
I my not be making any more for a while, but the next one that I will do with be the sword of Martin the warrior.
Enjoy!
Nice job :)
I'm trying to get enough materials to make a real sword myself.
Those are neat! What sort of leather and or needle do you use for making sheaths, and are they fairly rigid? Or flollopy and limp?
Wow! Those are so.....Amazing!
Thanks guys!

Well, I used fake leather b/c its cheap. I doubled it and sewed it well with normal needle and thread. I don't know how to boil leather. But since these aren't iron or steel swords it works well.
These looks fantastic! And I can't wait to see the sword of Martin the Warrior
How do you do it!
I can't see! The pictures aren't showing up!
It shows up for me.

Hmm... not sure why they aren't showing up for you.

I just used a knife and hand saw, and got to work. Try it your self, it's difficult but doable. ;)
Alright. I can get my brother to help. I'll try once it gets warmer (not alowed to whittle inside).

Sweet! I'd love to see it when you two finish it!
I made some wooden swords, but nothing like those! I mostly made mine just to spar with. Unfortunately, no one where I moved apreciates that art.
I have a perfect piece of wood that I could use to make without help, but now I can't find my pocketknife!
There are NO WORDS for how incredibly, amazingly cool these are! It's clear you've put a lot of work in to those swords, and you've done such a wonderful job! Seriously, there can't be anything more fabulous than walking around with a butt-kicking sword -- do you ever go about wearing any of these, show 'em off and whatnot? -- just all around excellent work, sir!
Cool! I've recently picked up an interest in whittling/woodworking/wood carving myself, but I haven't made much. The wood around here's a bit hard for me and my beginner's knife. :D

I hope you find it. ;)

Thank you so much!! Well I'm hoping to take at least one to a costume party some time. :D

Yeah, wood working is great! No worries I use old hard fence wood, so I know it can be tough to make delicate work some times. :)
I've made it! It turned out more of like a crude knife though because I finished in 15 minutes. Should I post it here or make my own topic. I'll see if I can actually post a picture.

Swell! Post it where ever you want, I'd really like to see it! :D
There is no Question about it, You are a true Artist Leatho!
Have you considered using ironwood? ;D

It would be very hard to work with. I only have a knife and hand saw. But the biggest problem would be that there isn't any ironwood lying around my house.
No kidding; it grows down in Mexico.
It also causes sparks when you try to cut it with a saw. ;D
AWESOME! Especially the gladius and the fantasy sword.
Nice! I really like them!
These are amazing!!
Cool, made a Martin sword myself.
Very nice!
Nice swords I say! I made some popsicle stick swords myself, but most broken or unfinished. :P
Thanks!

They take ages to make, and most of the time spent on making a sword is waiting. :P And they are pretty fragile as well, me and my friend were playing with them and my friend used my old shawl and wrapped it around my sword, and then he twisted it. End result? My sword was broken. :'(

Woah man, those are some fine swords! (I especially like the Knight Sword due to its beautiful handle, the shape is just perfect on that one).
Honestly, in between your swords and The Skarzs' metal works, you guys are really making me want to learn how to craft stuff.
;D IKR? ;)
Thank you very much!
