Title: Nearest book to you game
Post by: DanielofRedwall on August 13, 2011, 01:27:18 PM
In Australia it was book week and we did this thing where you grab the nearest book to you, turn to page 56 and read out loud line 5. So, off you go!

The nearest book to me is "Guardians of Ga'Hoole: the Hatchling" by Kathryn Lasky. Line 5 of page 56 says "She regarded her son closely as she said this."

It's a pointless game, but it can be fun.

When you say line 5, do you mean the fifth sentence on the page, or the fifth actual line-
As in, if each of these indented

be the fifth one of these? So if I
keep typing until I reach five lines,
I would count the line here?

Hmm... In the second brackets, I don't think the negation outside of the parentheses is factored in until after the problem within the parentheses has been completed.

math

-[24+(-5)]+[-(-2+6)]
-[24-5]+[-(4)]
-[19]+[-4]
-19-4
-23

We could use a 3rd opinion on this.
