This is pretty much self-explanatory. I think. Please try to keep each statement numbered!
1: You know you're obsessed with LotR when you speculate on the possibility of reaching Middle-earth through the Bermuda Triangle.
2: When you realize that John Greenleaf Whittier was actually Legolas in disguise.
(My sisters and I have done both of these.)
You know you're obsessed with lotR when.....
you try to do an elvish move and pull a muscle. Hahahaha.......
4:When you go around randomly quoting stuff from LotR for no reason at all.
When you start acting and talking like an orc.
6: When you imagine taking your enemies to Isengard.
7: When you write in Elvish on the dry erase boards at your school.
8: When you spend a lot of time thinking about what certain characters and events signify.
9. Read more LOTR fanfictions than the books.
10. When you can say "One Ring to rule them all, etc." In the Black Tongue.
11. When you really really hope that while walking your dog, you are pulled into Middle-Earth through a portal.
12. When you try to learn Elvish when you're already learning two other languages at the time.
13: When you've memorized the names of the main cast in the movies (and not just the Fellowship).
14: When you know a bunch of random trivia about the movies, like the fact that Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) broke two of his toes when he kicked the Orc helmet in The Two Towers, and that they kept his scream of pain in the movie.
15: When you've translated your name into Elvish.
(I've done the first two.)
When your sister wants to enter your room, you take a stick and say, "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!"
Number them.
16. When you know all the different Elvish languages.
17. When you have researched how to properly pronounce all the elvish words. And can now comfortably read elvish
18. When you have studied the family lines of Aragorn and Arawen to find just how much elvish and human blood they have in them. (Did you know that they both actually have some Maiar blood in them from Melian Aragorn a lot less than Arawen for obvious reasons)
19. When you have the One Ring stashed in a drawer.
20. When you have the Evenstar necklace.
21: When you've translated your entire family's names into Elvish. (I've begun to do that using this website (http://arwen-undomiel.com/elvish.html). (Just to issue a warning of sorts: the banner at the top has a photo of Arwen wearing that rather indecent dress from TRotK... so, yeah.) Also, not all of the name meanings are correct, so I recommend Googling them to make sure.)
22: When you name your pets after LotR characters.
23: When you develop a crush on one or more of the characters.
Now 23 is just weird...
24. When you have read the Silmarillion and can make all the connections from it to LOTR.
25: When you have a necklace chain around your neck with a keychain ring on it, and you call it 'The One Ring'.
When you do the same to your friends.

24. When you have read the Silmarillion and can make all the connections from it to LOTR.
That pretty much everyone who has read the Silmarillion does. ;D ;D ;D ;D
28: When you read through the entire appendix of The Return of The King
29: When you double-post multiple times on "Funny LotR Pictures" so you can add more to the compendium.
30: When you start taking archery lessons so you can be like Legolas. (FYI, I haven't done that. XD)
31: When the snow is crunchy enough to walk on without sinking, and you tell everyone, "Look, I'm an Elf!"
32. When you can speak Elvish yet can't speak any other languages
33. When you know your name in Elvish
34. When you can right in Tengwar (Elvish)
I saw this when I was lurking, And I felt like I had to post! I've done all three of those things :P, If you want your name in Elvish you can PM me your name :D!
You can write in Tengwar? Wow.
35: When you name your daughter Galadriel Arwen.
36: When you become the most active member on the LotR wiki.
37: When you set your homepage as theonering.net.
38: When you constantly think about LotR all the time.
#38 I do all the time! ;D ;D ;D ;D
39: When you know your family's names in Elvish.
40: When you watch the LotR movies every few days. (We actually do watch them every few days) :P
41: When you nitpick tiny details of the movies.
42: When you annoy your sisters by continually asking them and wondering aloud about how Galadriel killed an Orc with a blast of magic in TBotFA. Then, when you discover she was wearing Nenya, and thus her power was probably due to that, you annoy them some more by wondering if it's at all possible for her ring to have escaped Sauron's notice, because in the LotR book, she said Sauron was unaware she had it.
43: When your favorite actor is one of the LotR/Hobbit cast.
44. When you have read the LOTR trilogy in three days...
45: When a lot of what you do online is read LotR/Hobbit fanfiction.
Yeah, double post.
46: When you're posting on this thread.
47: When someone proposes to you, you reach a quavering hand out towards the ring and then break out into your best Galadriel impression, including "all shall love me and despair!" (I didn't actually think this one up; I saw it online.)
48: When you have an operation to get Elf ears.
49. When you plan to one day travel to New Zealand and Open a Donut shop called "Second Breakfast". You will name different flavors on LotR characters and you will cal Donut-holes Hobbits and day-olds Gollums.
50. You buy Glamdring, Gimli's Axe, and Sting, and make your friends LARP with you
51. When you have a huge Middle Earth map on your wall and you have plotted everywhere something has taken place.
I got the idea of 49 online, and I have done 50 and 51.
52: When you know that Fíli and Kíli's mom was named Dís.
53: When you know that Dís is pronounced 'Deese' (the 'e' being silent).
54: When you know how to pronounce just about any Elvish word thrown at you.
55: When you can have full conversations in Elvish ;D.
56: When you know the calendar and days of the week in Elvish..
57: When you can recall the years in which important events happened in Middle-earth.
58: When you translate the songs in the books into Elvish.
59. When you heckle the movies nonstop for everything they missed, got wrong, left out, forgot, or completely disregarded. (Like the orcs traveling in the middle of the day in the first Hobbit movie. Blasphemy!)
Ditto. ;D ;D
60: When the mere mention of Tauriel's name fills you with a burning desire for vengeance and destruction. When you know the names of all the regions of Middle Earth, and can recite them in alphabetical order.
When you only read LoTR over and over and over. (My sister does this.)
How many times has she read it? I am trying to reread it and this will be my fifth time. If it is successful. Or fifth time of the series, sixth time of the Fellowship of the Ring.
I have no idea she'll read some then stop for a few weeks then read some more.
62: When you're rather annoyed by the fact that quite a few of the newest Hobbit fics on ff.net involve Kili falling in love with a random girl who drops in from the real world.
63: When you try to figure out exactly why Tauriel would have feelings for Kili.
64: When you visit New Zealand and go to Hobbiton. (My dad and brother are actually in NZ right now, and yesterday they got to go to Hobbiton! I'm so jealous.)

Yeah, he was, but he was also moderately insane. Anyone who would invent that Oath and lead the Noldor to their doom would have to be. No thanks.
Not insane but if he had known Treebeard everything would have been fine.

Indeed.
77: When you daydream about being hired as a Tolkien consultant on a TV series, to keep them from egregious canon errors and also to make suggestions for filling in the blanks. (Let's face it: the Silmarillion would be super hard to make into a TV show because of the huge gaps. Half of the material would have to be made up. I honestly think that if they ever try it, they should hire some hardcore Silmarillion fanfic writers to help by providing their headcanons and perspectives on things.)
78: When you have all kinds of ideas for actors who should be in a Silmarillion show. Very true (with the exception of Narnia :P)
That's still not at the same level, in my opinion. I may not be as familiar with all the lore of Narnia, but Tolkien's world of Arda seems to have so much more in it, huge depth and width.
