This is a Sci-fi RP made Rusvul and I. I came up with the basic format, and he did everything else. :D
So, the beasts (including the now reformed vermin) of the Mossflower Republic have developed light travel and a Hyperspatial Dimension Drive (or HSDD for short). The very first ship equipped with this, and it has been christened the M.R.S. Genesis, a few years previously an Ark-ship (a large city-ship) had been sent up through a series of nuclear explosions, and was propelled through stable thrusters. Somehow the food was ruined through the journey and the vermin with the more violent thoughts fought the more peaceful creatures of the ark-ship. They landed on a planet that could support life, the evil vermin had advanced more quickly and the communication array has gone dark, the last received message had been; "Help! The-" That concluded their distress call. The
Genesis has a mission to go to the planet and see if there are any survivors or if the vermin have some alien aid that allowed them to massacre the goodbeasts.
The HSDD has been developed to stages 1-3: Stage 1 cuts a 6-month flight by eight days.
Stage 2 cuts a 6-month journey by 20 days. Stage three cuts a 6-month journey by 50 days. Before going into the HSD one would have to cut power to both the weapons and shields, and it would take about 4 minutes to charge the drive and then you would literally fade into a higher dimension and proceed from there. Even though you fade into a different dimension it is still close enough to where ships in our dimension can harm the ship.
The handheld weapons and ship weapons are ion, or Radion, or Proton. THe handheld weapons can be either pistols or rifles, they both have the same stats, Radion is the most powerful but it takes a five seconds to charge, when you press the trigger there is a whine and then after it gets to a rather high pitch it will fire. Ion is the weakest but they will fire instantly, Proton, it a mix of both, it takes two seconds to charge and will do more damage than a ion weapon. The ship weapons have the same basic statistics as the handheld ones, but it doubles the number of seconds to charge, and double the damage. Ion Pulses (the ship will probably have four, two banks set into each side.) Radion Cannons, and Proton Beams.

Would you by any chance need a high ranking government diplomat forced upon you by the government and your superior officers. ;D ;) I think some thing like that would add some flavor to the RP and a bit of inside tension. My character would have high authority given to her by the government but not to much military experience. ;D
...Hi, T'pol in season one of ENT...
Nah she is more or a glorified baby sister than a diplomat. (As you can tell I don't like ENT) ::) I was thinking of any of the other episodes with more emotionally "irrational" characters. ;) So do I get the Character?
That's up to Delthion, I think. I think it would be funny if your character only thinks he knows everything, rather than actually being very knowledgeable. He could constantly remind the soldiers of how they should show the govt more respect, and just generally irritate them.
Izeroth, accepted.
Faiy, possibly, could you post what you're thinking of and then we'll make a decision?

Since you seem to have forgotten a 'Gender' field, I'll specify that Richard is male and Lee is female. I'd appreciate if you could specify/clarify the uncertain fields on my characters when you are able. :)
I knew I forgot something!
Rus, accepted but perhaps not cause unconsciousness. Faiy, that's good, she'll probably be just under me, she has authority to give orders but can be countermanded by myself and my first officer, but it is rarely done.
LT also accepted but there are only Lieutenant's or Lieutenant Cmmdr., the Scrambler grenades are fine as long as they don't destroy computers.
And yes we are all on the Genesis.
Great that sounds good ;D That is what I had in mind as far as rank goes. ;D Could you PM me anything that you have already established about the government. ;D
Okay. Scrambling of synaptic signals could potentially also cause confusion or something...
Okay that's fine, BTW Lieutenant is the lowest officer rank ;) Also the grenades do no damage to computers,
No, I'm not going with Earth officer ranks, I'm going with Star Trek, and Ensign is the lowest on there.
And Faiy, I wasn't planning on any involvement with the government so it might take awhile.
;D I skewed you. ;D That's ok don't rush I can make stuff up I just didn't want there to be any contradictions. I am assuming it is like the federation (ST).
Not quite, there's not enough development to have a Federation of Planets. Probably, some form of republic though.
If we aren't a commissioned officer, and we're just a soldier, could we be a specialist or a private?
That would be an Ensign then, the specialists are basically the bridge crew and everyone in engineering.
That's a good point, actually. Is the MHSMP (Multiphasic Hyperspatial Manipulation Project) the military, or just the space agency? Also, are we going with the full name of the ship being the MRS Genesis MHSMP-1392? Or just MRS Genesis? Is the military seperate?
Also, do weapons fire in pulses or beams? Or some variation?
GAHH! So many questions! Well Rus, you are co-runner of this so your input is greatly valued.
I was thinking that it would be a collaboration of the two. Fell name will probably be M.R.S. Genesis MHSMP-0001 since it is the very first one. Ion weapons fire in pulses, Protons fire in beams and Radions fire like cannons.
Oh Okay, I have never really watched Star Trek so I have no Idea how the ranks go, I will look it up then :P
Okay so I just looked it up and Lieutenant is directly after Ensign so I will stick with that.
Yeah, that's it! :)
I'm assuming that this is more of a military than a space agency, as a space agency might not have acess to military-grade weapons, and probably wouldn't be sent into a highly dangerous area...
Of course, I could be completely wrong. I do need to know if this is a military operation though, because that will ultimately influence how we handle things.
If I'm not mistaken, this is a military operation run by a space agency who is cooperating with the military. Military needs to shoot space pirates, military can't go to space. Space agency can go to space, space agency can't shoot space pirates. But I am not the one to ask, I might have interpreted incorrectly.
That makes sense. I suppose the diplomat would fit in here as a third party, present to ensure that the military don't break any regulations...
That and to make sure that this is resolved properly with as much of the colony intact. The project was very high priority in the government.
So, when does this start?
In a little, I want to get a few more people, we still need a head of security, first officer, coms officer, and a doctor.
*raises hand* I think it would be very convenient for me to be the comms officer, not only would I be sitting next to a console the whole time, but as some kind of co-creator it is not unreasonable that I might know when we are being hailed when others might not.
It's not something I really want, per se, but if it makes everything run more smoothly, good enough for me.
Sure, that's fine.
Isn't Casta the head of security?
Oh, OK, then that also means you're the tactical officer.
That means that you only need a Doctor and a First officer. I would play the first officer but i think that would be to much power for one person. And I'm not very good with medicine... :P
Hmmm.. If Jet is first officer or doctor, we only need one more....
Jett I think would be a better doctor, the doctor usually argues with the captain and vice-versa, it might be better to have two people who do that out of character.
I'm his number 1.
First could you post you're character, just fill out this form:

Oh, a question- If I had a more powerful weapon, would I aim, shoot, experience a delay, and fire a projectile? Or is the delay after the projectile is fired? Is that a warmup or a cool down?
Warm-up. Basically; "Aim, pull trigger, *high-pitched whine* fire."

Warm-up. Basically; "Aim, pull trigger, *high-pitched whine* fire."
Ah. In that case I'll stick to the beam weapons, if you've ever played a MOBA you know just how long 2-5 seconds can be...
Oh.. I can see my Character clashing with the first officer. ;D
Yep, hopefully yours will clash with the captain and the first officer. ;D
Just how powerful are Ion weapons? Would they be capable of killing an unarmored enemy with one shot, or would it take several?
So when do we start?:D
Yes, but armor significantly affects the number of shots required.
As soon as Jett makes his character, if he is willing to be the doctor.
Hm, I don't really want to be a doctor, I'll make two characters. Are there any spaces available other than just random grunt?
You could be Ops, basically sensors and the like...
...Come again?
You could be the ops officer, basically you would be in charge of reading the sensors and getting things back online.
Look up Commander Data and get back to us.
The Star Trek wiki is frustratingly vague
You could be the Doctor, or the Ops officer (Monitors sensors, accepts hails, basically is the computers guy) I don't think we have a Tactical/Security officer either (not sure what we're calling it) but if you did that you'd be the guy to lead security teams (if someone boards the ship or something,) you'd probably lead away missions, and you'd be the one to monitor weapons and fix them when they break.
Also, if we were to break away from standard Star Trek ranks and positions a little, you might be in charge of some other thing. Crew's mental health, routine maintenance, you could be a xenobiologist, xenosociologist, xenoarchaeologist, xeno- anything standard.... You might be in charge of fabricating parts to repair, or food to eat, or you could do any number of things that might make sense on a starship.
I know that xeno means "race" more or less, what would a Xenosociologist do?
A xenosociologist would study the social and psychological structure of other races, should we come across any. You might even shorten it to 'Xenologist' or something of the like, and study any kind of alien life or culture in all its detail. (-Xeno as a prefix means 'alien,' or 'outside.')
Sorry to argue but no it doesn't unless by alien you meant foreign in general rather than just foreign from space
relating to a foreigner or foreigners.
"xenophobia"
other; different in origin.
"xenograft"
But yes, that's what I thought and that is what I shall be, I'll make my app tomorrow, I have to leave now
I mean foreign in general, yes.

We do have a security officer:

And therefore LT is the Tactical officer.
Since we don't have a doctor...
Name: Joseph Riggurt
Race: hare
Age: 54
Position (Tactical, Communications, etc): Head Doctor
Rank (Lieutenant, LT Commander, Ensign, Commander, this would have to be someone with very good knowledge of the Sci-fi world, and there could only be one): Lieutenant
Personality: Joseph knows he'll be retiring soon. He tries to be helpful, but sometimes seems uncaring due to his harsh, efficient way of handling injuries and sickness.
Appearance (Don't include clothes please): Brown fur and blue eyes. Has a scar across his left eye.
Accessories (Earrings, necklaces, masks, etc): An electronic med-tool that he uses for medical work; an eyepiece that allows him to see an x-ray view of other beasts
Weapon(s): an ion pistol
Other: N/A
Maybe not a hare, usually the doctors are calm, rational things, they are the ones that clash most with the captains, with the exception of the government delegations.
I'm not sure I'd call Phlox the calmest of doctors...
Phlox? Is that from ENT? That's the only series that I haven't seen at least part of...
You should watch it. It's different but it's actually pretty good.
Meh, first I need to get through DS9. ;D
I was thinking Joseph would be the sort of "old long patrol captain" type of beast.
Yes, good point. OK, but he will have to argue with the captain as to the welfare the captain's health.
Like the McCoy of old.
Hehe, "He's dead Jim."
And Faiyloe, the government is a council, fifty members govern the entire world, 9/10ths have to agree to do anything, you are just below a council member. And handle any angst that may arise from the regions of the world, your onboard to make sure that we don't botch any alien meetings. ;D
That was the idea. ;D cant wait to boss people around. ;D (Don't worry, I'll use restraint)
No, please don't, the key for this is to be as much like an inexperienced diplomat at odds with a captain as possible... ;D
yes but I also have to make it seem believable. Don't worry. I'll make your job as difficult as possible ;D.
Good, thank you... ;D ;D ;D ;D
I'll probably be argumentative as well... Captains tend to always need more from their hardware than they can get :P
Maybe, but be more like Paris, I think that that would be a good idea...
Lee Allen will be fairly Parisish, but Richard, the grizzled man who's been working on a starship for his entire adult life... I think not.
Yes, good point.
If we want to make things difficult for the captain I could slap her in handcuffs every time I meet her ;D
Hehe, but no that would be contradicting the authority of the council and then they would send everything they had against us. But it's still funny. ;D
Are we going to start a ways away from our destination, or will we start near it?
Quote from: LT Sandpaw on December 24, 2014, 03:18:52 PM

If you even dare, without your captains explicit orders, I will come at you with everything I've got, I'll have you demoted if not confined for apprehending a government authority.
And now that we have a doctor, can we get underway?
Nothing brings out the spirit of Christmas like shooting space pirates and aliens.
We have been so busy trying to figure out who will be arguing with who that we completely ignored who will be getting along.
Before I fill this in, what is the difference between position and rank?

With all due respect, I'd really rather we not be shot at. This spatial drive can't take too much more, and our shielding is only at 63%.
My question is unanswered
CRISIS MODE! PRESS A! PRESS A!
Position is what you do. The position of an electrical specialist is "electrical specialist." Rank is how much power you basically have. Ensigns are ordinary soldiers, lieutenants are lower officers, etc..
I see, so I'd be a Xenologist and an Ensign
If that's what you want. Sounds like your going to be the only person I get along with... ;D Seeing as you have very little authority and basically have similar goals.
Oooh. A xenologist. So I suppose you're the one who cares about our scans. Cool :D

Jett needs to post his character, then we may begin.
Do we have a design for the Genesis? Like, is there a Star Trek/Wars ship that we can visualize with? And do we have a bridge design?
I'm hoping Faiy might be willing to draw the outside once we're done, but the bridge is basically like the Enterprise-E from Nemesis, it seems different from the rest for some reason...
Ok cool.

I have been meaning to get Photoshop working so I can do some starship designs, I might do a little art for the Genesis. As long as it involves no people or anything I should be fine :P
Cool!
Also... There is a tabletop RPG system designed to be basically space D&D. If people wand to play that via Skype, I can TOTALLY help everyone with stuff and host a campaign. It probably wouldn't be centered around the Genesis storyline, though. Sector Gamma Hydralis is the setting I've been working on.
I could try to draw it. I have done some ship desighns befor thought the style is rather, um... rounded. It was for a si-fi thing I was doing. For some reason I see the Genesis looking kind of like the Defiant shape wise... :P
Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking!
For some reason, I pictured it as the Botony Bay. But the Defiant is better.
What time period are we in? Like, are we in Archers time, Kirk, Picard/Janeway?
None, we're before all of them...
From what I can tell, the beasts of Mossflower have just started to colonize other planets.
Oh, ok.
Yes, and we're going to investigate what happened to the arkship.
Hm I imagined the ship to be like the Fleet Runner from Star Wars Episode Four. Of course I have never really been into star trek but isn't the ship a big dome with engines off the side.
No, that's nearest the Enterprise and Soren, could you show LT the Defiant please?
You don't have to wait for me to start, it's going to take me a while to make him
We can just spend some time on the Genesis, and then board the ship after Jet makes his character.
OK, I'll get it up tonight!

Thank you number one.
Time to start getting on peoples nerves. ;D
Very nice. I will try to be the experienced, patient captain but eventually let a little frustration show. ;D
I just found this, now can you tell me what the limitations are? Technology and some such.
Well, if you havnt already read the opening message, it mentions the three types of weapons and the three stages of "HSDD" similar to Warp Drive.
Another quick question, what's wrong with stating what clothing/armor we may be wearing? Isn't that kind of important?
The crew would probably all wear a sort of standard uniform; the soldiers would all probably wear similar body armor and/or military uniforms.
Name: N/A Though everyone calls her "Silent"
Race: Squirrel
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Position: Engineer
Rank: Outside help, she reports to the different leading heads, though she reports most often to the Engineering head as that was her primary role.
Personality: Quiet. She's quite shy, almost coming across as cold. That having been said, she's very passionate, and sticks true to what she believes, despite what others may think or say. Unlike her avoidance of social contact, her actions would suggest she has a very profound sense of caring.
Appearance: Her fur is pure white, soft both in appearance and by touch, her eyes are blood red and seemingly deep (in that way that draws your attention away from most other things). The excess hair on the back of her head has been pulled into a pony tail (Rose style, for those of you who've seen that cartoon), while the excess front has been allowed to grow out enough to partially hide her eyes.
Accessories: None as of right now.
Weapon(s): Sidearm: 6-round, pre-charged (all charged upon insertion into the gun) Radion. Though it has a back-up Ion capability stemming from the more standard handle clip.
Nova Colt
(http://i59.tinypic.com/k5617d.jpg)
Haven't decided on a primary, all things considered though, she prefers to fight up close and personal anyway.
Other: She's a tech genius, everything she uses is of her own design, barring an instrument or two. She's had relatively extensive experience with the military as they picked her up extremely quickly (relatively because she IS only 24). Quiet is an understatement, she never speaks to anyone, though all health records would suggest she has no speech impediment.
I will finish this later, but I'm reserving this slot. The blood red of her eyes can also be seen on her fur in some places, far more predominantly on her right side.
Engineer would go in position and rank would be something like ensign lieutenant etc...
And you would be under Rus's character.
I thought there was only one section for all that. >.< (we really need a dedicated smiley for that face) Almost completely done, done to the point where you can accept or deny, minor changes are still likely.
Alright, everything's fine except the weapon, they can't be pre-charged or it will just be to overpowered.
It doesn't start charging until the six round insertion is placed in the chamber (in other words, it starts charging all 6 at the same time, but takes a bit longer) , which has it's obvious time setback. Hence why it has a secondary ion firing option to cover for the 10-14 seconds that she's shot-less. I didn't word it the best first time through, this way seemed the most logical for a fighting scenario.
I'm not really sure how or where to drop in, I guess I'll wait until something important happens.
I was gonna ask, what kind of weapons and defenses is the Genesis equipped with? Do we have photon torpedoes? Phasers? Disrupters? Or just conventional missiles like in Star Trek Enterprise?
Also, so we have shields? Cloaking device?
@Soren. Just read the first post, it explains most of that. And yes we do have shields.
Oh ok, didn't realize that.
No problem!
Do I have a tactical team or is it just me?
You have several security teams but that's for inside the ship or for away teams. And we can't beam you over there without their shields being down.
Okay. And by beam you mean teleport right.
Yes he does.
I would like to join, but don't know if this is still open.

Weapon(s): Proton pistol, but can handle a rifle or ship's turret
Other:
Yes it is. You'll have to be third in command because Dann's character is already second. And she'll need a weapon.
Done. I also demote her to lieutenant
There aren't any turrets by the way. But accepted besides that!
Whoops. I changedd her to tactical lieutenant, any open positions?
No, not any important ones. Sorry.
Hmm. How about communications or ops?
Do you know much about Star Trek? And comms is already taken.
A little. Could I make a position? Maybe... equipment manager? Who keeps equipment in top working condition? Kind of like an engineer.
What if you were an assistant engineer? That means you work with the main engineer.
Hmmm, yeah. That could work. I'll see what delthion thinks.
Fine by me!
Alright. I'll resubmit my sheet, then join in when you need me or when I see fit.

Dann's character is the second-in-command. Rus's second character is the Chief.
Quartermaster is a position. That would involve managing clothing and food and other standard-issue items.
Yes, that's true...
Okay, could I do that? Sorry for all the other changes.
Sure! And it's no big deal that you are making so many changes. ;)
You can take second in command, I don't really have an official "rank" I just report to who ever needs me at what time as her skills cover a couple of areas. It's just that her most profoundly recognized and used task is in the engineering department.
Alright, quartermaster I am. Tell me when to join.

How many fighting personnel are aboard? 250? I have no idea, but I'm making a quartermaster report, so I'll need the number.
I don't think we have nearly that many soldiers onboard. I'd say.. Maybe 50 beasts?
The Genesis is sorta made after the USS Defiant from Star Trek DS9. It has a normal crew compliment of 40-60 and has a maximum passenger limit of 150.
So 50. ;D
Okay, so I thought of making a second character, if that's alright. I'm not sure we have an intelligence officer yet...
Name: Jenbean
Race: Fox
Age: 46
Position (Tactical, Communications, etc): Intelligence
Rank (Lieutenant, LT Commander, Ensign, Commander, this would have to be someone with very good knowledge of the Sci-fi world, and there could only be one): LT Commander
Personality: happy and friendly
Appearance (Don't include clothes please): Regular fox
Accessories (Earrings, necklaces, masks, etc): None, likes to appear threatless and as normal as possibl
Weapon(s): Ion pistol.
Other: N/A
I guess. It means variously, but about 50.
yeah, I'm pretty much done with the report. Does your away team require supplies, besides weapons and such?
I don't think so, but Del is the one who's sorting it all out right now.
WHEN EVER HE GETS ON! ;D
exactly! I really need the intel officer to be approved... quarter master'shave no purpose in space ;D
The quartermaster makes sure that all supplies are in good condition, and replaces broken equipment.
Okay... but really, check the roleplay.I've already checked the conditon of supplies, soren's away team doesn't require any supplies besides weapons and such... Intel offers cooler options, and I'm also on the bridge. ;D
...and we all get rolling when Del gets back. Sometimes, the suspense seems endless.
YESSSSS!!! D'youknow when we get toground and start fighting more with actual soldiers? or is it really a journey? Becasue that's when cynthia will really come into play.
Well, we are on our way to see what happened to the ark ship, I imagine when we get there we will be met with some resistance. Then we throw down.
Ahhhhhh... Cool!
Wow, things really got crazy while I ate lunch. Anyway, Sagetip, for now I think it would be best for you to stick with one character. Maybe when the RP develops a bit more and we get to the planet he might be accepted, but not right now. :)
Well, that lengthy enough for ya? I can give a lengthy lecture on shields....
Well, that's the away teams job, not the intelligence officers, but you could report as to the status of the planet and what we know about it!
Ok. Is nsyslest desert, temerate, tropical, swampy, etc?
If Nyslest is anything like Earth, it's probably a mix of different biomes.
Alright. Is the Arkship crashed? or are we going to enter a building? What's out plan of action once on the ground?
It's sort of like a moon, rocky, not completely desolate, but no vegetation native to the planet, but we can grow things there.
Let's make there be several structures but they're shielded from our sensors, and the Arkship is not crashed, it just doesn't have enough fuel for another take off.
Okay... Yeah, I have an image. Would you like the report after the away team finishes and all is calm, or right before we land? And also, are we going to get more "surprises" while traveling?
I can draw a map... but I'm having trouble uploading to DeviantArt so I might have to e-mail it to Delthion and he can distribute it.
Probably, haven't decided yet.
There are animals native to the planet, right?
Not exactly animals, I'll PM you guys. I think tomorrow.
There must be some life-forms; why else would we bring a xenobiologist along?
So what exactly would be considered Power Playing someone?
Making them die without consulting them, things like that, but if you want to you should probably PM them.
Oh ok then.
EDIT:
Also, do we have a story teller, or someone who controls the environment?
Rus and Del I think are the co creators so they probably control the environment Soren
Yeah, Del explained it in the main thread.
I would propose a few methods to ensure clarity in the RP (Things are very easily confuses or misinterpreted and we have had the problem of people joining in on conversation in which they shouldn't be able to). First off people should post where they are at the moment in bold at the top of each of there posts (even if you just did it in the last one), and secondly any com transmissions should be posted in italics. I think that these simple thing could help clear things up immensely.
Yes, but with the italics that's what you do when you are thinking something, what about having it underlined?
Fine that works. Though that is a little hard to look at... How about we put them in these ** things instead (Can't remember what they're call)
OK sure.

Sorry, Faiy, it's confusing where the away team is, I thought that they were still in the Ingenuity but they actually had beamed back a while ago.
Ok thanks for reassuring me that I'm not crazy. ;D I must have read the past few post over 15 times trying to figure out what you meant. XD.
Well, we weren't using the bold type in the beginning when the away team was on board the other ship. So that might have caused the confusion.
That is why I suggested the bold type. ;D
Yup.
Hey deal, when can I leave the ready room?
Anytime, I haven't told you to stay in there... ;D
I just noticed that Sagetip's and Dan's characters are not in the OP.
The QM will appear when we reach nyslest.
Forgive my ignorance but What is QM stand for?
I don't know, Sage, what is QM? Is it the quarter master?
OOC: Yes
Oh. Then back to my original statement, I meant that Oracle has not put your character sheets in the Original Posts with the rest of ours.
I do need to do that don't I?

TADA!
THAT IS AWESOME!!!
I get to be a lynx version of Picard!

The fox is Jenbean, or Sage.

Yeah, well. I had 15 minutes.
Should someone take over Sand's character Casta Longeye? He's gone.
Let's say he was murdered by the people he was rescued by (for some obscure reason) and we can continue without him as an antagonist.
I'll play him... XP Seeing as he would be directly interacting which the NPC characters I have been playing. If I can bring myself to post. You guys need to make longer posts, I have nothing to work with!... XP
Yeah.... ;_;
Is anyone still playing this, or can we skip ahead to us being back on board the ship already?
Er, I have no idea. Why don't you PM all the active member participants that haven't posted and remind them....?
Well, we couldn't skip ahead to being back on the ship. We're staying on the ground until the end of the mission. I have an idea to where we might skip ahead to though. Sage, can you post that you've found the crash site of the Arkship, a kilometer or so away?
Faiy says she's too busy to play the other characters, she can only manage her own.
Okay...I wonder who could replace her? I guess I could. But I am not as experienced as others...I'll set a poll.
This looks interesting
We probably could use another. Would you be alright playing as LT's character? It would be a big help.
I posted.
Oh I hate my mined XP I just had a brilliant idea and I am less busy now than I was. I'll take charge of the Arc ship characters if some one else takes LTs character.
Okay...that's fine!
Just so you know Delthion I'm going to need some recap. ;)
Basically, you've left, there is a large group of people on the planet, and we've found the arkship...that's it. It's been going pretty slow.
Okay soooo what do you want me to do? Or should I just do something?
You have been taken by an unidentified ship. So you can pretty much decide from there...but no aliens as of yet. Just the more aggressive vermin of the Arkship.
Basically, post anything concerning the speed of the advancement of the Insurrectionists, or the location of the Colonists. The Colonists, there will be a scattered band that we recognize is there after stopping the Ion radiation.
Wait, how are we supposed to stop the radiation?
It's only dangerous if you are close to the source for a prolonged period of time.
The Genesis shall rise! ;D
what if they meet the empire
Heh heh.
Anyway. We need more RPers. ASAP.
Yes. Rus was in this, but he sort of dropped out...
And Izeroth, and Faiy. It was just you, Soren and me.
I can join this if you want. Do we only get one character, or can we make 2?
You can make as many as you can handle well.
Gurmly
Race: Mole
Gender: Male
Age: Adult (28 in human years)
Position (Tactical, Communications, etc): The Almighty Janitor!
Rank (Lieutenant, LT Commander, Ensign, Commander, this would have to be someone with very good knowledge of the Sci-fi world, and there could only be one): Chief Petty Officer
Personality and Background: As a child, Gurmly dreamed of greatness. He did everything he could to get a position aboard the Genesis, and needless to say was a tad disappointed when he was given the position as janitor. As a result, he is slow to trust and quick to judge, but still harbors dreams of greatness.
Appearance (Don't include clothes please): His fur is different to the common velvety black most moles have. Gurmly's fur is actually brown, rough, and gritty. This is probably due to his job, yet another reason he hates it. He has brown eyes to match is fur, and is quite small, even for a mole.
Accessories (Earrings, necklaces, masks, etc): A special pair of goggles that enable him to detect dirt, grime, and signs of life, as well as providing communication aboard the ship. Also has a silver ring encrusted with precious stones given as a gift from his family.
Weapon(s): A mop with the handle carved to a point.
Calvariae
Race: Sable
Gender: Female
Age: Young adult (19 in human years)
Position (Tactical, Communications, etc): Junior Communications Officer, handles all of Gurmly's calls and serves as a general assistant to Jenbean.
Rank (Lieutenant, LT Commander, Ensign, Commander, this would have to be someone with very good knowledge of the Sci-fi world, and there could only be one): Ensign.
Personality: Not mutch is known about Calvariae, save that she has a nice streak and a sadistic streak. Some have called it a split personality, others have called it downright manipulation. These people don't last long. Nobody can seem to point the blame at her because there is never enough evidence, but she is almost always guilty.
Appearance (Don't include clothes please): Tall and with fur that seems to shine in the light, a very light blonde that is almost white. She has scathing eyes, one blue and one red.
Accessories (Earrings, necklaces, masks, etc): Several gold bangles, bracelets, earrings, rings, and necklaces, all gold and studded with diamonds and emeralds.
Weapon(s): Several silver daggers, extravagant but effective. Also carries two pistols, one ion, one proton.
Accepted! Sage's character was already taking care of the communications. But since she's a Junior Communications officer that should work. She probably wouldn't have daggers, she would probably have one of the weapons mentioned in the third paragraph of the first post. But besides that everything's great!
Whoops, I read that and then forgot about it. I've changed it just a bit. She still has knives, I mean, they're reliable, but she has a gun now too. Also, she's the one that talks to Gurmly over the headset.
Got it! One more thing that I didn't notice, they would all be wearing uniforms...sorry about that.
Done.
Accepted!
Sorry, I forgot about something important: I'm going away for two weeks, so I cant start posting until then Sorry. ;(
Not a problem!
No offense to Groddil, but I really can't wait two weeks.
Yes, I thought that we would continue, his characters have not been integrated and though it is rather difficult, we can manage with only the four of us.

I'll try to post some soon.
@Sagetip:
That's what I meant. You don't have to wait on my account, you've lasted this long without me, my characters just won't show up yet.
Anyway, what's going on with the plot?
I have finished explaining everything from the logs. And you have summarized what the particle weapon is. So now all that we need is ideas about where and how to search for the Colonists and the Insurrectionists.
Maybe the Arkship, when it crashed, burrowed deep underground. The surviving colonists used laser-cutting tools to make an underground cave system, and, breaking downt eh underground part of the Arkship and repairing the terraforming devices, made their own city. Underground. The team would have to travel through the Arkship to do anything....
That sounds good, except for that the terraforming devices that the Insurrectionists left the Colonists were faulty, but if they repaired one using what they could salvage from what was left of the others. That is a good idea! Alright so what's going on, is exactly what Sage said, but they only have one of the devices, so it is about a 100 x 100 area of land that they have for their supplies.
Ok. And how long have they been on the planet?
On a side note, just for fun...
Here's what I thought the Insurrectionists weapons would look like:
