Calling all furries! (Sorry, that joke's a little insensitve)
Up until a little bit ago, I always saw myself as a hare, bravely fighting danger and always loyal and perilous. But then I started thinking. I, as a person, do not closely align with the archetypical hare personality. I am a coward, I am a hypocrite who doesn't hold herself to any form of moral code, and I am a very light and picky eater. The only thing that's really hare-like about myself is my incessant and annoying optimism. Rather, envisioning myself as a hare was a form of wish-fulfillment. I would like nothing more to be that loyal and perilous fighter. But I'm not. I'm okay with that. Hares may be my favorite Redwall species, but I'm not one of them.
So I started thinking about what sort of species I would be. Mostly when Gonff first put up his "forum fanfiction" topic. What would I be? I wanted to say hare at first, have myself portrayed as such, but I didn't really want to lie. So I started thinking about my other favorite species. Shrews stuck out in my head for some reason. There's a lot of different kinds of shrews. They tend to be much more varied in personality than hares, badgers, even most mice. There are evil shrews and good ones, they are very erratic creatures and tend to be unpredictable. So I decided that a shrew fit me far more than a hare. I tend to be a an argumentative jerk, as well as a bit contrary. I've also grown up around water, and, while not being a natural swimmer, I quite like boats. And boats is the most important part of being a shrew.
So yeah. Even though I would honestly prefer being a hare in the Redwall universe, if I'm not lying to myself to fulfill my wishes of being someone I'd like to be, I'm a shrew through and through.
And also, apparently, a really bad poet.

Calling all furries!
Ugh.
In regards to the animal I would want to be/aspire to be, it would be a cougar.
But if we're only dealing with animals mentioned in the Redwall series, I haven't really thought about it. I'm analytical up to a point, formally polite but often blunt and willing to offend people since I don't care much. Definitely not a super outgoing person, though I'm far less introverted than many of the people on here. I can take command easily. If it were a fight or flight situation, I would likely fight, after assessing the situation of course. I'm not a small person, but not the largest.
Of all the Redwall animals, I guess I might be a ferret. (This is talking personality and physical traits, not purpose.)
I'm either a ferret or a weasel, a vermin definitely.
It'd take some explaining and I don't like talking much about myself, so I'll leave it up to your imaginations. :P
/me mysteriously slithers away.
Vagueness.
I wonder if I even have to mention what I'd be? What species is a patriotic and loyal, military minded fighter, known for liking their food, and being overly flowery and extroverted with little regard of political correctness with a take control attitude, a mind for logistics, and are also fluent in a thick accent? (Granted mine is southern)
Preferably animal wise, I'd be a rat, but understandably my personality fits rather well as a different species, and I'm okay with that.
I can't narrow it down to any one species, but a vermin species certainly
@LT Sandpaw: Southern? *Sidles over* We must talk. The only person in my state that I know of and like has deserted me. (Drat you Conny.)
Hmmm. I've taken a quiz several times, and I came out as an otter and mole once, and a mouse the rest of the time. While I'd love to be a squirrel. . . . More than likely mouse. Sadly. Nothing against mice, but squirrels are the best.
I would probably be a bird of some kind. I've taken several tests and usually come out as an otter or wild cat, but birds have so many different personalities in the Redwall series (Pandion, Brantalis, Sircolo, Skarlath, Rocangus, Warbeak, Sir Harry the Muse, Captain Snow, etc.) that I could be one... And they have wings.
I want to be a squirrel and I have wrestled with the idea for a long time, personality wise I think it fits but am no where near as athletically fit as a squirrel. Though I do prefer fight over flight when I think I have a chance of winning.
I can happily say that what I would be mirrors what I would want to be, and that's a squirrel (because obviously no one knew that already ::)). I tend to be goofy before anything else (for better or worse), and when night time hits,I turn into one of the single most hyper people on the planet (seriously, you should see what happens when the older members of our family are gathered in the kitchen after 11 o'clock at night -_-). On the other hand, when someone can actually calm me down for a more meaningful conversation, I can be as serious as need be. I'm more than willing to talk to my friends about quite literally anything, and seeing them go brings a misery that goes deeper than anything the physical world could do. But my sarcastic exterior can make me rather difficult to deal with... So yeah, I A SQUIDDEL! ;D
@Faiyloe: Not all squirrels were master athletes (Broggle for instance, and most of the other Friars I believe).
@danfloreguba True, true. ;D
I would probably be a hare (even though I secretly would want to be a stoat or a wildcat for some reason) for my humorous and comical approach at things, my voracious appetite for not just food, but everything else in general, and what else...? *giggles*
I tend to giggle and snicker much when it comes to talking about myself, so...
You really do fit a hare. :P
Well I believe that I would be a badger, because I spend a lot of time on more combat originated things
I have had other people see me as a Hedgehog, but if I could choose, I would be a squirrel
if i could choose if probably be an otter! or maybe a squirrwl! But really I'd probably be a mouse.
I think I would be either an otter or a mouse, but I am not sure which. If anything I would be a peaceful version of whatever I am. My sister says I am an otter, but for the longest time I wanted to be a mouse.

Your name does fit as an otter, in my opinion.
I agree Skarzs, but i think my personality fits a mouse better.
I've always see myself as a stoat due to my username.
Yes, of course. Personality kind of fits too.
To get a bit of Redwall themed discussion going on here, what Redwall species do you guys think fits me best :P ?
A mole, or maybe a shrew.
You've got good sense, and a strong spirit, two qualities that are held by moles, but you aren't afraid of holding an opinion, and you distribute your argument very well, which gives you a shrew like personality. Not to mention, I think that 'Grond' is the name of a shrew in the books, I could be wrong though.
Grond kind of sounds like a badger name, actually.
But yeah, shrew.
Nah Grond isn't from Redwall, its actually from LOTR.
Hmm I'm not really a "shrew sized" person so that one never crossed my mind but I can kinda see it haha
;D I don't think any of us are shrew sized.
Shrews are similar in size to potatoes, Skarzs.
Some of us have shrew-like personalities though. Like Grond. And me.
It's hard to tell in some cases, but I do think shrew fits. Mouse or vole might too, depending on the circumstances.
Mmm, yeah. Probably not mouse, if we go by me off this forum. (Considering that in real-life I'm a bitter, sarcastic jerk who loves to argue) ;D
Honestly, I think I'd be a hare--but like, a really weird hare. But then again, there is an abundance of weird hares throughout the series sooo... ;D
*Ahem.* Mad Maudie.
Oh my gosh, you're right! ;D
Also Dotti Dillworthy. I really see myself in Dotti Dillworthy sometimes.
But I do prefer Mad Maudie as a character.
I kinda see myself as Tergen the goshawk from Raketty Tam, I get pretty stubborn at times. ::)
Were I in Redwall, I would see myself as a squirrel, but I've been told I act more like a hare or an otter, depending on the circumstance.
It would be nice to be a good wildcat or, perhaps, a squirrel. Squirrel personalities do vary a bit, so I'm sure I can liken myself to one in some way. I suppose, going by my name, I could also be rabbit-like, keeping much to myself and can get irritated easily at times.
When I first read the series, in my mind I felt quite a connection to the idea of being a hare. Their way of speech sticks in the head.
When I first started the series I was convinced I was a rat.
I dunno.
It could still work but it's not as fitting as a (marten/weasel). Yeah. Still unsure.
...HYBRIDS RULE, EH?
I'm not one of these 'kin' or 'furry' types (I think they're called) but if some kind of reality bomb went off and we were all transported to the Redwall universe, I'd be a squirrel. :p Good guys but with the ability to be a little less strict to the hero's way, like Jukka or Felldoh. Sort of the Batman to the mice's Superman. :P
Nae need tae talk like that! One o' the best heroes in the entire series was Rakkety Tam McBurl- a squirrel, ye ken. ;D
I agree.

Ehhhhhh no.
Like the wearet? No.
Bleach, Wearet, no, but maybe he was just an anomaly. Ashleg rambles about
his characters here, if that annoys you, well, here's a spoiler:
Spoiler
I have a character who IS in fact a Wearet. He's runty and oblivious to everything and prone to sickness (because that is sometimes a real thing that happens to hybrids, that for some reason Brian never touched on. Weak immune systems.) But even so he's every bit as normal as an average ferret.
We saw one Wearet in the 22-book series.
They are extremely rare.
Surely, if another one was to spawn, it could have a difference in personality and behavior--as again, we saw only one and can infer by being kept at Marshank for who-knows-how-long he simply lost all sanity.
Wea
rat, sure. Razzid was cool.
There were two wearets. None of them were held in Marshank. One was the slavemaster in the Kingdom of Malkarris. The other was Karanjul the gorge dude.
Argh, that's right, I meant Malkariss!
Karanjul was in what book?
*Shudders* Loamhedge. So I guess I don't blame you for forgetting about him.
(I enjoyed Loamhedge... ;D)
All I remember about Loamhedge was...that it was a disappointment.
Loamhedge is the book about the healing formula right?
Bleck. Aye.

Nah it's the book about plot contrivances, pointless deaths, and confused morals.
Okay... :/
Wearet or wearat. . .
I feel wearET would be more . . . possible because there's a smaller gap of species between weasels and ferrets.
Was it a wearat?
Hey,
@Ashleg, do you remember which was in which book?
Mattimeo, I believe.
Wearet = Mattimeo.
Wearat = the Rogue Crew.
Okay.
Just use Redwall Wiki, people. ;D
Wiki websites always crash my iPod.
They don't work on my phone.
I've never seen myself as a Redwall animal since my persona was a lioness and is now a dragon, neither of which are in the Redwall universe. Guess if I made myself into a Redwall animal though, it'd be a fox and would be a nice throwback to Koudo's origins as a kitsune before she became a dragon.
Cool!
I'd be a mouse if I was feeling nice, or a weasel if I was feeling naughty.
I'm rather shy and brainy, which seem like mouse-ish qualities. But I also tend to be very messy, snarky, and lazy, which feels very weasel-y. So, it's got to be one or the other.
Definenently like a Redwall recorder, even though my username is Asmodeus.
I used to always identify with the mice, and that is probably still true. However, more and more I'm starting to see myself as a mole. The whole wholesome, comforting and sensible vibe they give off is definitely something I aspire to. I could probably also be a hedgehog... I guess I don't really fit into any category perfectly. :P
You can be a Moulehog.
It's a mouse mole hedgehog.
. . . I'm having a hard time imagining what that would look like.
A brown mole with a spiky back and large, rounded ears.
I bet it would drool a lot.
You have created a monster.
It's the new wearat!
Im a wolverine ferocious and quick to anger.
Rar!
I'd probably be a pine marten.
Good choice.
Because of my size and bookish tendencies, people tend to think of me as a mouse, but I'm also loud, philosophical or good-ol'-random-fun, depending on my mood, and fairly rambunctious, which I think are more otter-y traits. I'm nowhere near as athletic, but I'd really like to be..... I'm mostly too lazy to get there. :P
You could still be a mouse.
I'm probably a hare or an otter...
Sebias says I'm probably most like a squirrel :D

Which would you say I am?
Otter. Coz you're childish/friendly/playful.

;D Yeah, that does rather sound like me...
I'd be a mouse or mole. It's hard to decide, but if I had to pick I'd say mouse.
I would probably be an otter
The name matches up too.
Sebias, your name is more of a mouse name, I feel.

*Cough* Matthias Sebias *Cough*
Yeh, maybe.
Hazel often calls me a shrew. When we're arguing, of course.
I wish I could say I was more of an otter, and while I do like spicy food, love seafood, and adore the water, I'd say I'm closest to a badger. I am strong, tall, pretty quite and introverted (not so otterish of a trait), enjoy simple living, and would give my all to protect those weaker than myself.
Update: I guess there are a few stoic otters like Riverwyte (The Mask) and that weird otter that ate baddies after killing them. Idk, what species do y'all think I'm closer to? Badger or Otter?
