Introvert: One who "recharges" by being alone
Extrovert: One who "recharges" by socializing
You can be shy amd still be an Extrovert!!
You can be outgoing and still be an Introvert!!
It depends on whether you need alone time or you hate being alone!! It's not Shy vs Outgoing!!
You can also be an Ambivert, someone in between those two.

I'm an outgoing introvert. Yes, I'm shy and awkward around new people. But being with my friends still excites me and I look forward to going to fun events. It's just that I need my alone time to process it all and recharge afterwards.

I'm more of a lesser of that Kit. I'm fully introverted, probably more than most of you on here. But when I am around those I am comfortable with like by friends, or on here for example. Heck, my close church friends usually look for me to make them laugh! But I need to be alone, badly. If I can't be with myself and think through many different things, then I literally can't function. And I love this so much because I get to think about what to write, how to further my book, and how to react in certain ways. Being an Introvert really helps me more than it hinders me.

When it comes to swimming, the pool. Though I do love rocky beaches, or coasts where it's so flat that the wind just comes whipping across the water all the time. (It feels so awesome on a nearly bald scalp.)
