Hello Ladies and Gentlemen!! Welcome to the first ever installment of the latest new hit reality TV-Show, Making It Up As We Go Along!!!
Now here's how this works. We
abduct a victim handpick a volunteer to be sent to a remote, pre-prepared location in which they must survive. You, our participating audience, will choose what this volunteer's actions are! This lucky fellow will have almost no memories whatsoever, so it's up to us to help them along!
The participating audience will vote on the actions of the volunteer. The action that receives the majority vote will be transmitted directly into the volunteer's mind. To the volunteer, these instructions will seem like they came up with it themselves, giving them the illusion of total freedom of will!! But we'll know better, won't we ladies and gentlemen?
Now, we have cameras set up all over the location, but they're a little buggy at times. We may need to rely on remote tracking and heat sensors to follow the volunteer. If this happens, there will be no video feed, but we will still have some idea of what the volunteer is doing. It will be dictated to you.
Now! Let's see what we have! Location?
DESERTED ISLANDAh excellent!
And volunteer?
MALE, 19-22 YEARS OF AGEName?

(Please suggest names! You can be serious or ridiculous!! If you like something someone else has already suggested, then quote their entry. That will be your vote! The entry with the most votes will win!)
(PM me questions or ask them right here, whichever is fine by me. I hope everything makes sense though!)

Who's... Matthew Williams?
.................
That's not my name. My name's Jaime Burke.
[subect stands]
I... arhg... my head hurts....Alright folks, what a success! What should young Matthew do now? Go into the jungle perhaps? Search his clothing for something useful? Maybe go check out what the stuff in the sand is?
Or, let's have some fun. I've heard sea weed is edible.
I bet it's quite hot out on that beach, maybe Matthew would like a swim.
Should we try out Matthew Williams' seagull catching skills?
Do you, dear audience, have even better ideas perhaps?
(PLEASE NOTE: i failed to make it clear at the start, but this is just A TEST ROUND. I want to try out some ideas for this, call it a beta. I want to see what works and what doesnt. Please bear with me, this is likely going to crash and fail. LETS HAVE SOME FUN WITH IT THOUGH!!!!)
Search his clothing for something useful.
He needs to take himself out of this existential crisis; have him drown in the ocean.
Make him investigate the stuff in the sand.
He should eat himself
Make him gather coconuts!

What happened? :(
what do you guys actually find this interesting? you think its going alright? Cuz I already think it's a trainwreck.
EDIT: A LITTLE EXPLANATION
Okay okay okay okay alright let me try this again. I didnt deal with it right the first time and I just made things worse for myself.
I didnt like the way this was going. As I've said before, I'm not a writer, it doesnt come easily for me at all. The way I set the game up for myself was suddenly getting harder and harder for me to work with. So I panicked and tried to save myself from embarrassment and ditch the whole thing to make myself believe it didnt happen which of course doesnt work in real life.
I do really want this to work, but I think the beta is a real bust. Let me start over with something a little different, later when I've put a little bit more thought into it. Thanks, and sorry about that.
@Galli: If you wanted to, I could do the story and writing, and you could do the images. Just an idea. :)
thank you for the offer! let me think about this whole thing a little bit more.
I'd like to help to write it as well. Maybe I could edit it.
I never got to really participate, but I for one find it intersting. The response here indicates others do to. :)
thank you both!

Nope, it's just wet sand. There's plenty of that around you, dear boy! Get on with it now.
Oh, wait, there's more in his pocket! After digging out handfuls of wet sand, he's found:

Matthew puts the paper back in his pocket. With his right hand still stubbornly in his other pocket, he squats and does a sort of awkward sideways crab shuffle. That must be his best Egyptian ritual. He looks around uncomfortably, then shoves the beetle in his mouth. There's a crunch, and he spits it out. There was something inside the beetle. Some kind of small electronic device.
what now?
Take out the electronic device and then finish eating the beetle.

Clean off the electronic device as best as possible, inspect it.
Get on his knees and scream fanatically to any and all Gods he knows.
Eat the device!
...
You misunderstand me, sir. Young Matthew has already vomited the beetle.
Young Matthew wipes his mouth and goes back to the edge of the beach where he spat out the beetle and the electronic device. It's gone. It seems the waves has washed it away already.
The boy wanders off down the beach. He prods the coconut with a bare toe, and crab scuttles away. A bird appears out of no where and snags it, before flying off into the trees. Staring after it, he notices a volcano.
He uses a rock to break the coconut in half, carve two eyes holes in it, then he wears it like a mask and chants: "Unga Bunga! (http://www.loamhedgeabbey.com/index.php/topic,718.0.html)" in tribute to the Volcano God.

Electronic devices don't fare so well in water. Volcanic soil is a fertile type and usually has plenty of life growing in it, you can head there for more food.

Matthew picks up the coconut and heads up the beach to the rocks. By chucking the coconut at the rock face several times, he finally splits it open. He scoops the contents out with a seashell, but nothing he can find is sharp enough to make eye holes. He holds half of it to his face anyway. "Unga Bunga," he says hollowly.
"Unga Bunga."
The Volcano Gods rumble in appreciation. They will watch over this resourceful new follower, they decide.
Matthew panics when the volcano rumbles. He chucks the pitiful coconut mask into the jungle before running into the ocean to get as far from the volcano as he can. The Volcano Gods accept his offering of one (1) half of a coconut. They do wish he'd try a little harder to actually get it in the volcano next time.
:) Okay Hahahahaaaa!!!! ;D I'm dying at what just happened! ;D
As for what he should do next perhaps while he is already in the ocean he should...

Try to make contact with the dolphins to find out where he is stranded
Matthew, knee deep in the ocean, looks out to sea. There's no dolphins in this rocky area near the beach. Some tiny fish dart around at his feet. A large wave rolls in, crashing into rocks before reaching him. The resulting splash soaks him. He makes weird clicking noises in an attempt to call out to the dolphins, but none respond. The seagulls above him fly away inland. They want nothing to do with this clicking weirdo.
Climb up the volcano and attempt to make a map on a piece of bark.
Dig a five foot deep hole using only his hands, fill it with sea water, and sit in it.

Matthew dives into the ocean, striking out into deeper waters. He stops and turns after a ways, to take in the size of the island. In the distance, a volcano sits silently, surrounded by a jungle of trees. Rocks dominate the shore to his left, and to his right the beach is all sand. It looks like there might be some kind of wreck just around the curve of the island that hadnt been visable from the beach.
Memorize the locations, the rocks will provide good shelter at night. Swim into the shallows, and continue towards the wreck, keeping an eye out for the electronic device.
