I don't remember it either.  ::)

I bluffed! Brocktree never tanned the hides of the leverets! But he did deprive one from supper once...  ;)

Anyway, Ungatt's discovery clears a lot of suppositions. Thanks for telling us!  :)

Thank you! I just though that that passage held the true answer to the whole Dark Forest question.  :)

Life is too short to rush through it.

Nope, stil a mystery! The characters.may be wrong! Maybe neither exist! Maybe
The go to a holy hotdog god!

Myst is the best puzzle game EVER!!!

You can win by losing. Jesus did.

Why are you looking
So intently at the beans
While they are sleeping?

The characters an be wrong, he wrote the story.how the story how the story was! That doesn't mean the poem is not wrong.

I don't remember that poem... what exactly did it say?
"The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater." ~J.R.R. Tolkien

You're still doubting BJ!

Why would he even have a "hotdog god" in an action-packed fantasy series anyway? There is no place for such things!

Um, yea, you have a point there. ;D But there really seems to be no evidence that the poem isn't real.

If you research a bit, many cultures have a sort of "heaven" and "hell" within their religion/culture.  Same here.  :)

Dark Forest and Hellgates at first seemed both where bad... animals? go, and the "sunny slopes" and whatnot as the sort of heaven.  And then, of course, there's the tales and such, of adventurers and heros.

But that just wouldn't be right in the world of Redwall; makes it feel too human-like.

Yea... but we have swords and rulers and such in our world, too.

But the world of Redwall dosn't take all that to the same extent like our world does.
