This just a topic were you talk about Noonvale and stuff connected with it.
Personolly, I wish that BJ had included it more in his books. It only really appears once and is refrenced to once, but besides that, theres nothing more about it. I wish BJ had written a Redwall story that had Noonvale actully appearing in it. Even more, I wish that he would have done something like that that involves Martin the Warrior.
Thoughts?
T=I wish it appeared in another book, as you said, and that there was possibly a battle there. Like, imagine Martin rushing to Noonvale to save the people there because they were in trouble.

I'd like to see a Fanfict about that!
I know Free Thought wrote one about that. It was VERY good!

Yea, that one was really cool! Really Tragic, but REALLY cool!
A fanfiction about Noonvale would be fun to create, but I would hope that it would include Florian.
(And a salad fork).

There are at least 3 stories about it, as far as I know. They can be found in the Fan Fiction Board.
Yeah, I started "The Blade of Noonvale" but found it rather uninteresting.

Thanks guys for the praise!
Now, the one thing I am interested in is what happens to Noonvale after MTW. We know that it continues into the time of Mariel and Dandin since Aubretia talks to blind Brother Saxtus, (and they talk about Mariel and Dandin), and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a book (can't remember which one) that mentions The Noonvale Troupe or Players or something referencing Noonvale?
I am surprised Jacques did not use it, or the North in general more, however, perhaps he was just done with it... but I'm not..... ;) :o hahaha
Anyways, any thoughts on what could have happened, and by that I mean how Noonvale would have evolved (or didn't evolve) over the years?

The book is Marlfox. And yes, they are mentioned as being from Noonvale. But besides that, there is no other refrence of Noonvale after that.

Redwall Abbey stayed pretty much the same through the series, so wouldn't Noonvale stay the same as well?
I'm currently writing a fanfic 'bout Noonvale, but it's pretty disorganized and I don't know if I'll ever finish it ::)
If you do, please show us!
Aye, it vould be intereztin' tae zee!
Noonvale always makes me sad. Laterose came from there and so I always feel like all the characters from there will die. :( Sort of silly of me.
I see what you mean.
I just wish that it appeared in more Redwall books. That probably the reason why all of the fan fictions that I have read so far have either creatures that live in Noonvale or if Noonvale appears physically.
Ah yes, Noonvale. I used to wish it would appear in future books, until someone I knew who'd read the books pointed out that it's location became a secret to everyone after Martin died.
I think that it would be interesting if Noonvale was re-visited when Martin was still alive...I actually read a Fan Fiction where he does that. Quite interesting, to say the least!
I always wondered where noonvale was. is in the north or far east?
Far north. I had a map of the Redwall countries for reference :)

Yea, I have one too. Your story checks out. ;D
Ah, Noonvale. Something about it makes me want to live there even more than Redwall. Er, I would live there, as in the conditional tense, as in if it were possible.;) I really loved how it was animated in the show and I wish Chris Baker or Sean Rubin had done artwork of it at some point. Especially since there isn't any really great artwork from that book. Does Noonvale remind anyone else of Rivendell?
YES. I thought of it just like Rivendell. just with moles and hedgehogs and mice and other animals ;D

DARN! You beat me to the LOTR reference!! :D (I'm an epic fan)
It reminds me more of Lorien, because both are more secret, both are closer to the woods (verses Rivendell's big, beautiful buildings and the big open space) and they both have a husband and wife who rule it.
@TW: Well, sort of. Just, its a little more "simple" than Rivendell.

Yep. Just a little. ;D
*Uses a defibrilator on the topic.*
So, Noonvale is a town with the spirit of Redwall. Both places are aware of each others' existence, as evident by the mousemaid whose grandsire was Brome of Noonvale, who came to visit Redwall and told Martin's story.
So why is it that after this, there is no mention of it, nor any effort to further communicate between the two settlements? (They don't even need a duck to fly over the ocean like in High Rhulain. . .) It seems to me like a lot could be done if they connected.
Thoughts?
Well, they are quite far away from each other. Plus Noonvale doesn't have the luxury of Redwall's walls, so their only real defense is their secrecy. It seems reasonable then that Noonvale wouldn't want to reach out too much, and that Redwall would respect their wishes by not risking contact with them.
There's not really any mention of other places after their books. The island in High Rhulain, the islands in Triss or any other islands really. I've slwaysviewed it as communication just withering over time.
Also, it was a goose, not a duck.
An isolated Abbey in the woods really has no need to communicate with anyone but its closest allies (Salamandastron, Guosim) for they can help defend it if it is attacked.
