It was good - mostly entertaining because it was Redwall.

I enjoyed it. It was nowhere near the best, but I still liked it. The protagonists sucked but Plugg Firetail, his crew and the adder siblings Zassaliss, Harssacss and Ssesstra were awesome.

Well, It's been a year so here are my opinions now.
I've got to admit, the more I thought about this book the more I disliked it.
I don't quite HATE it, I'd still give it maybe a C or a C+ but it really aggravates me. It's mainly the Protagonists, Triss and her friends are really boring. Keep in mind that I like Martin from POL and Tiria from HR which many people say are boring characters (even if I disagree).
I'd also say that most of the action scenes were boring too, at least when they happened. The Redwall battle is boring to me, maybe just because I've seen it so many times up to this point. I think I just was really unmotivated, because when a certain character dies (I won't say who) I feel absolutely nothing for them. Only two books can actually make me kind of angry, Triss and Tigerheart's Shadow from the Warriors series but I won't get into that.
But there were still some things I liked.
Pretty much every villain is great. Plugg Firetail is almost unanimously one of the best villains in Redwall, Kurda is fun because she's weaker than she seems but still formidable, Plugg's crew has really fun antics and personality traits that make me like them (the same can be said for a few in Kurda's crew) and the Snake siblings are great.
The scene where some Redwall citizens are in the woods at night and they hear noise and smell a stench is actually frightening and very well written. The actual Redwallers are pretty good as well, even if they're not as interesting as many before and after. The backstory of the snakes as well as the actual plot is pretty good, just not executed well.
In the end, it's not an awful book and if you like the Redwall series then you still can find enjoyment in this book. I do think it's one of my least favorites, along with Mariel of Redwall.
That's just my opinion, feel free to disagree. Also sorry for writing an essay on it.
