green isle is an awesome place and I'd love to live there if I was in the redwall world. I've always wondered what happened after high Rhulain. Does anybody have any opinions as to what happened?
Also, what was the deeplough? (sorry if I'm not right with the monster in the deep crater's name) and how do you think the crater got there in the first place as well the monster inside of it? I always thought the crater was from a meteor or an old volcano and the water is just rainwater that's been collected over hundreds of years. But I don't have any idea as to how the monster got there.
Any ideas?
Plesiosaurs rule!
Sorry, random outburst.
And yes, they do exist.

There was a Plesiosaur Carcass Netted in 1977.
In Jan 24, 2007 a living dinosaur shark was found in Japan.
I actually googled those. The one in Japan I saw a video of the real dinosaur. It was ugly. So yes, they do exist.

I love Green Isle! Specially that Holt Summerdell place. It sounds like the Redwall version of a resort. :)
Deeplough is interesting. I think it might have been made by a meteor or something.

Yes I do: http://www.weirdasianews.com/2007/01/24/first-living-dinosaur-found-in-japan/
You might have to copy and paste.
Guys, try to keep on topic.
I remember hearing about that dinosaur shark. Creepy.
As for Green Isle, I was always disappointed it wasn't mentioned in later books. High Rhulain made it pretty clear the island, Redwall, and Salamandastron were made firm allies. I'm particularly interested in their relationship with Salamandastron. Perhaps they fell out of contact when their messenger goose died/when Salamandastron (lost?) their ships.
As for the crater, I always thought it was something like the Crater Lake in the US.
And Slothanug or however that's spelled - yes, dinosaur shark, totally, or a plesiosaur. Fascinating.
He was a pleisosaur. He was called a dragon in the book, but the map clearly shows him as a pleisosaur. He probably was being portrayed by Jacques as just that.
I'm fairly certain Green Isle was mentioned again after High Rhulain. I can't remember
Was it really? I don't remember...
If I remember correctly, Green Isle was mentioned in Eulalia.

Ohh, was it? I'll have to look it up, dang! :o I don't suppose you remember whereabouts it might've been in the book...?

WHAT?! I need to read that book again! I thought Green Isle just disappeared from the series the same way Southsward did.
What I'd be interested in is hearing how Tiria chose her successor. I wish another book had been written about Green Isle. High Rhulain is one of my favorite books. I wish Green Isle would have been kept as the setting for parts of future stories (like Salamandastron is).

Good point. No doubt a Wildlough, at any rate.
I should write a story about that...eeeek! Another story! Oh no...
YOU SHOULD!!! That'd be awesome. Like the future of green isle. After tiria's rein
I wonder if Leatho ever got married. Since he's the last of the Shellhounds, he'd have to marry into another clan. But he doesn't really seem like the family type to me, so I suppose the Shellhounds just died out. :( High Rhulain is one of the best books Brian Jaques wrote, IMO.
Yeah, I don't think Leatho got married. He is not that type of person. :(
I might get around to writing that story, but right now I am swamped with them! :o
Yeah, no romance for Leatho. :( So the Shellhounds died out. :'( :'( ......Unless......there was a Shellhound aboard the vessel with the previous Rhulain, and he survived the wreck and was rescued by some otters that had been shipwrecked previously, and they all lived on a deserted island..........and then he and his wife and a few of his friends struck out to sea in one desparate atempt to reach the mainland or get back to Green Isle.............but they were blown waaaaaay off course in a terrible gale.........and they were the ones who discovered and populated Ruddaring..........and then one day his descendants make it back to Green Isle, and thus the Shellhounds are saved!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
There, I just saved the Shellhounds! 8)
You can never tell. :D
I started a story about Tiria's successor. You can read it on the fanfiction board. It's 'Riayan Wildlough's Adversary: A Story of Success and Succession.' Please give your opinion.

A dinosaur in Redwall?! Wow.
I cried when Pandion Piketalon died. :'(
I love the Holt Summerdell place.
the wierd thing is that the islands always end up in the same place i dont get it like Mariel of Redwall and Pearls of Lutra and lots of others Im going to start a topic on forgotten places! :P
QuoteA dinosaur in Redwall?! Wow.
Yeah there is a topic about the "dinosaur"
very creepy.it speaks of a few deep sea monsters such as those. I would not want to meet any of them.... :P
ah would love tae go tae olt summetale... :-[
I really liked the sound of the Green Isle. Maybe BJ would of wrote more about it.
A sequel to high Rhulain would be nice ;D
Yes but without Tiria.
She was awsome

Yes but without Tiria.
That's what I was thinking, like just after her death or when she's very very old and it's about someone else
With a new high rhulain...maybe her descendant or something like that.
Someone should make one!
I'm out of ideas. :(
This has always bothered me. Was he some kind of eel? A mutant fish? Or something else?
Eee lock ness monster.
Well, you'd think he'd be hiding here.
