Argh, really, Lass? And where's th' crew ye'ave t' back ye up? I see none...
Just cause ye can't see 'em doesn't mean they're not 'ere.

Really...I don't hear 'em either!

D'ya think I'd 'ave 'em shouting from th' rooftops?

Thanks bro
No problem.
Arrr, trouble thur be already and the ship ain't even barely left port.
Tell th' slaves t' hurry it up, then!
*Is the only slave* *Is in a beach chair relaxing on deck* *Sips lemonade*
/me runs over and grabs Russa by the wrist.
GIT BELOW DECK AN' START ROWIN'!
*Throws the oars overboard*
The oars are below deck, schyoopid.
Yeah, I pushed them through the holes they poke out of.
(Ships in this time of history didn't really have oars...hate to burst your bubbles. ;D)
Really? *Goes back to beach chair*

Hate to burst yours.
There's also evidence in "
The Legend of Luke" by Vilu having oarslaves.
(That's a Carrack, a ship from the fifteenth century, before the time period of Pirates in the Caribbean. :))
But honestly I didn't mean anything by it, I was just being silly. ;D
BUT VILU!! Book evidence!
REDWALL IS NOT HISTORICAL FICTION!!!! ;D
NOR IS THIS!
WELL FINE THEN!!! ;D
A frigate appears on the horizon, bearing the Ensign of Great Britain. The pirates recognize it to be the Fortuitous. With it's topgallants spread and a firm westerly breeze blowing, it closes with the pirates at a swift ten knots, firing its long nine bow-chasers as they bear.
Arrrrr!
No!
*shoots cannons*
*Throws a mop at the oncoming ship*
*Throws a ship at the incoming mop*
I'm thinking Lady Ambop
I'm thinking no.
I'm thinking Wedding Topic once I am elected.
WHY???
BECAUSE YOU AND MOP ARE PERFECT FOR EACHOTHER
PRECISELY!!!
THANK YOU
I THREW THE MOP AWAY WHICH PROVES MY ARDENT DISLIKE FOR IT.
YOUR LOVE IS SECRET THAT'S WHY
BUT HOW COULD ANYONE BE IN LOVE WITH A MOP.
YOU TELL ME
YEAH, AMBER, YOU TELL HER...
How're yerr suppose' t' swab the deck now??
*Notices the ship and oncoming cannons*
Arrrr, you lily-livered cowards! Come 'ere an' fight, man t' man!
*Manically waves cutlass about*
The H.M.S. Fortuitous loads grape shot, and fires across the Pirate's deck.
CATCH TH' GRAPES AN' MAKE WINE, YE SCURVY SWABS!
*Still in beach chair* No thank you, sir. I'm much too young to drink.
Quote from: Ashleg on August 17, 2017, 05:23:16 PM
YEAH, AMBER, YOU TELL HER...
HOW CAN I TELL HER IF I DON'T KNOW MYSELF.
/me facepalms at Ashleg's lack of understanding what grape shot is. ;D
You always twist things around to make them go in your benefit, so don't facepalm when I do it.
Fine! ;D
The gun crews of the Fortuitous load chain shot into the cannons and fire, attempting to bring down the fore and main masts of the pirate's vessel.
(It really needs a name. ;D)
I hereby christen this ship the Pirates' Vessel!
*a giant shark jumps out of the water and is hit by the cannons*
(So how much damage was done to your fore and mainmasts?)
A little teeny bit.
But the shark died.
(I'm in a forty gun frigate, the shark can't take all twenty shots from the larboard side... ;D)
It was a HUGE shark.
...fine... ;D (Is the "Pirates' Vessel a sloop, frigate or a brig?)
The Fortuitous, the broadside of the 18 pound carronades booms out and leaving smoke billowing out in plumes. The shots strike home, splinters from the Pirates' Vessel explode through the air.
(So there was damage, but you choose to what and how much. :))
* Stares at some of the damage and then continues to wave cutlass about *
Lily-livered scoundrels! Where's yer admiral? Face us like a man! Carn't attack us when we ain't even attacked yer first!
