-Sometime later, the second mate was unexpectedly rescued by the subplot, which had been trailing a bit behind the boat (and the plot). The whole story moved along.

Finally people who actually understand why I randomly say the number 42 a lot. Or talk about the Earth getting destroyed to make way for a hyperspace bypass. Or talking about Marvin the paranoid android. Or saying I'm an alien from Betelgeuse 5. And so on.
