Now, now, now, let's be clear: having very different values does not preclude a relationship. It can make it harder, but I've known some very successful relationships made up of people with diametrically opposed views.

Your statement is false. The beholding of the thing makes it merely from a thing-for-itself to an object, as it comprehends gaze of the Other. It creates no effect upon the noumenal world.
