"I have given my life many times, but now its time for me to give my death."-King Crispin Mistmantle Chronicles

"Sometimes its not about winning, but how you lose." - John Gwynne

"Facts don't care about your feelings." -Ben Shapiro

Skyblade

These are all great quotes. This is a great thread! I actually made up a few quotes myself, but I can't say they are completely original because they were inspired by others. For example, the first one is basically a rewording of Sandpaw's third quote ;D

"If I win, I win. If I lose, I lose with honor."

"Seize the opportunity."

"Aim super high, higher than you need to. That way, even if you don't reach your goal, you're bound to end up somewhere that's still good for you."

L:  [speaking to Light]  Either we lose and both die together, or we successfully catch Kira.  [gestures to Misa]  Which is it?
Misa:  We catch Kira!  I would never dream about living in a world without Light!
L:  Yes, that would be dark.

L:  We're running out of time, and I'm starting to get desperate.  As for Misa Amane, I've turned to her because I know her bravery and love for you is boundless.
Misa:  Do you really mean it?  Oh no, I think I've totally misunderstood you all this time!  I even called you a [creep]!  But you actually do understand how I feel, don't you?
L:  Yes!  Misa is indisputably the most perfect and worthy woman for Light.
Misa:  [jumps happily]  YAAAY!  [kisses L on the cheek]  You're such a sweetie!  Thank you, Ryuzaki!
L:  [touches cheek where Misa kissed him, shocked]  [mutters]  I could actually fall for you.
Misa:  Let's not go that far.  But you could maybe be a friend of mine!  Would that be okay?
L:  Yes.  So now I've gained yet another friend.
Misa:  Yeah!  Of course!  Any friend of Light's is a friend of mine as well!  [grabs L by the wrist]  [giggles as Misa, L, and Light spin in a circle]  Let's all be friends together!
L:  [as they're spinning and Misa's giggling]  Woo... yay...

~ L (Ryuzaki) and Misa from Death Note.

That scene might possibly be my favourite Death Note scene so far, aside from the "I'll take a chip... AND EAT IT!" scene and the tennis match scene.  For being such a serious and dark show with two incredibly intelligent main characters, L and Light are overdramatic dorks.  :P

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.
-Theodore Roosevelt

To try mightily, to risk everything you have, and to win through work and daring a success takes a brave man. To try with all your might, to risk everything, and in doing so fail... To lose it all, to bend down, pick up the pieces, and move forward... That makes a great man.
"'Tis the business of small minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death."
-Thomas Paine

"Integrity and firmness is all I can promise; these, be the voyage long or short, shall never forsake me although I may be deserted by all men."
-George Washington

Courage: Not only the willingness to die manfully, but also the determination to live decently.

This one really hit me, and still does:
"Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again."
~ Og Mandino

And I posted this one in another thread, but will repeat it because it's that inspiring:
"Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing."
~ Abraham Lincoln

Some of my two are in my Signature, but here they are:

All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost.
- J. R. R. Tolkien

Reason is the natural order of truth; but imagination is the organ of meaning.
- C. S. Lewis

Two more are:

A pen is to me as a beak is to a hen.
- J. R. R. Tolkien

Courage is found in unlikely places.
- J. R. R. Tolkien

Short but sweet!  ;D

I want the world of Tolkien,
The message of Lewis;
The adventure of Jacques,
And the heart of Milne.
But I want the originality of me.
