PLOT: A horde of vermin from the North (Arctic Foxes, Ermines. "Vermin" creatures of the North), has heard about Redwall Abbey, and led by the cruel Grund Strongblade (Arctic Fox.) wish to capture it. Meanwhile, a crew of searats march on Salamandrastron. (This roleplay will, hopefully, require some riddle solving skills. Also, it would be great if someone played as Grund Strongblade, though it is not necessary.)

OOC: Tell me if this is any good, it's my first roleplay post.
BIC:The hooded fox stared up at the abbey. He had heard tales of it through his brothers cruel horde, and had imagined coming here many times. And here he was. If the stories were proved to be true, the creatures of the abbey would be kind, and allow him a place to stay for a time. In return, he would warn them of the vermin horde, and battle along side Redwallers when they arrived. Smiling, the fox walked up the gate, and knocked on it, careful to keep his twin rapiers hidden beneath his robe.
A dark gray squirrel sat in the gate house reading a book. It was one of her favorite places so quiet and peace full no beast to bother you with any number of books you could get lost in. Her name was Kawalan Vatra. She heard the knock on the front gate and sighed she knew she should get that but she was just reach the good part. After debating with her self for a minute whether or not she should get the door, she snapped the book shut, got up and left the gate house. Book still in her paw. She opened the front gate a little but what she saw surprised her. It was a fox. Her brow furrowed.
"What do you want?" She said rather abruptly.
"Shelter" replied Hail. "I 'ave traveled far. From the Northlands." He studied the squirrel carefully. She had a distinctive streak running between her eyes, and was clearly annoyed to have been disturbed. Hail decided to see if he could manage to convince her to let him in by hinting that he could help the abbey. "If it 'elps, I 'ave some news that could mean life or death for the creatures inside these walls." He had a distinctive accent, which caused him to roll his R's.
Grund sat in his tent, eating a roasted pheasant. He commanded his scout captain over. "take ova' two scouts wif' ya. See what that brudder o' mine is doin."
Jantar stood just outside of Grund's tent. She jumped back and hide behind a near tree, when the scout captain came out. She checked her bag of feathers, herbs, and potions. She was after all meant to be a seer. But she only used it to her own ends.
"I basically run this horde, and then here he is making desitions without asking my counsel. He should have consulted me first." Jantar muttered to herself as she made her way back to her tent.
Hello this is my first post on here ever so please bear with me. Can I play with you? If so I will be PoisonOakpaw. What type of animal do you guys want me to be? I was thinking squirrel, mole or mouse. I hope you are all doing great and I am excited to play with you all.

Kogane was practicing his skill on some wooden stakes which he had "borrowed" from the Moles of the Abbey. Nine stakes were driven into the earth in a circle around him with another stake balanced across the top of each pair, the ninth stake stood on it's own between two pairs. Kogane held both of his blades down by his sides, his head bowed. He snapped his head and swords up, knocking the crossbars from their perches, he tossed his swords up and caught them in the opposite hands. Swinging them both up he chopped the crossbars neatly in half, he followed the swing through, bringing his swords down to slice through the middles of the four driven into the ground. He whipped around and slammed the flats of his blades onto the over hanging edges of the middle stakes, catapulting them into the air. He swung the blades in a wide circle, chopping the standing four in half. The two he had thrown landed point first in front of him, he kicked them up again and using the same technique as before sliced them in half, he leaped up, turning in the air as he did so and brought his katana down, slicing the remaining stake vertically in half. He tossed the blades back over, caught them in the opposite hands and sheathed them.
"Well done Kogane-kun, very well done"
Kogane bowed to Zhuangjia De, the Pangolin who had been watching "Arigato sensei Zhuang"
"You are very much welcome my apprentice, that was a near perfect performance, though one or two of those slices were inaccurate"
Kogane bowed his head "If I was perfect there would be no point in training sensei"
"Well said Kogane, well said"
Kogane nodded in acknowledgement
"So Kogane, why are you up and training so early?"
"I couldn't sleep, I was thinking of Hakaan"
"Your homeland is a beautiful place, we shall return soon, do not worry"
"You miss-understand me sensei, I do not mourn for it, I merely think"
"Very well, what say you we go and get breakfast?"
"I would like that sensei, I am feeling rather hungry"
The Pangolin and his apprentice made their way across the grounds to the Abbey

Kartaka the wolverine stumbled at the back of Grunds horde. The huge beast had been trailing the artic fox's army for weeks, and finally he had caught up with it, mainly by chance, as he was a terrible tracker. He studied the creatures that were in front of him, either cooking their food or simply resting. Where was the leader? He squinted at the tents, and spotted an extra large one. Naturally that should be the most important beast's tent. He lumbed towards it. He had heard the fox would pay a good price for his brother, and he wanted that reward. This was a harsh winter, and he could do with whatever came to paw. He pulled back the entrance flap and stepped in. Yes, here was a fox. He was eating some sort of fowl. Kartaka decided to get straight to the point.
"So, I hear yer after yer brother. Tell me, how much would yew pay tur bring him back, dead or alive?
Vatra looked the fox up and down. he sounded like he was telling the truth but he was a fox and all foxes were known trickster. even so the abbey always helped those in need and this best hadn't done anything, at least not yet.
"You wait here," She said. She closed and locked the gate and then went to find the Abbess.
OOC: Is any one else going to play the Abbess (or Abbot)?
As Zu and Kogane were passing the gate they saw Vatra close the gate on someone and walk off, Kogane hailed her "Vatra-san, who was that?"
Hail stood idly, looking at the forest carefully. He knew that his brother was hunting him, and had fled the Northlands to escape his rage. Hail frowned though. By showing up at the Abbey, he was putting the creatures inside in more danger then they were already. If Grund were to discover that they'd been sheltering him, they would likely all be killed, or used as slaves. He called to his traveling companion, who had been looking for signs of his Brothers Horde in the forest. "Oi, Yater. 'Ave ya found any signs of foe beasts?"
OOC: I may play abbot/abbes if no one else does.
OOC: Arya is no stranger to either Redwall or Salamandastron
BIC: Arya started knocking on the Abbey door, rather frantically! She had seen a horde, near Salamandastron-she thought that they might want to know and then maybe send help or a message!

Grund watched Kataka enter. When the fox asked the question he answered. "I'll make you a captain of my horde." "Choice vittles." Grund knew this was a lie. He fully planned to murder this wolverine his deed was done.
Kartaka nodded slowly. "I have the best vittles. I will be a cap'tan. Yes..." He sat on a chair. The chair gave a squeak of protest and collapsed. He coughed, and stood up. "Yarr, why can I get a tent?" The thought of the fox's treachery never even crossed his mind.

Yatar studied the landscape from the tree he was in. The woodchuck couldn't see any telltale signs which would indicate the coming of the dreaded horde. Hearing Hail's call, he jumped down and strolled over. "No Hail. Although I sense they are still after you." He glanced at the closed door. "Have they answered yer?" He drew his garment and hood closer to his body and blew out a breath of steam. He hoped those within the abbey would let them in. The cold had a particular sharp edge today. "Maybe we should start to look fer a battering ram." he smiled.
"One of the creatures if the Abbey, a squirrel, went to find the abbes. She told me to wait 'ere. I think she's looking for the person in charge of the abbey." He looked back, down the path they'd come up. He thought he saw some movement, but wasn't sure. "Did ya see that?" He asked Yater. "Thought I saw some beast run into the woods."
Jantar sat in her tent munching away at a roasted woodpigeon. When she was done she collected her powders and stones together. Grund would call her soon, and ask if she knew the location of his brother, she was sure of it. And she had her own spies out searching, one had come back earlier that day and said that he had tracked him to a great big red stone fortress in Mossflower Woods. Jantar was sure the red stone fortress was the abbey of Redwall. She knew all the stories, and legends of the place. She also knew that they mustn't attack or try to conquer Redwall Abbey. It would mean certain death, and she wasn't prepared to die, not yet.
Grund moved from his seat. For his size, and looks, he was quite fast and fit. The ones who had seen him rise to leader new that. It was useful for tricking the novices. "Jantar, get ova' ere!"
Jantar who was in her tent next door, quickly stood up, grabbed her things, and entered Grund's tent. "You wished to see me lord."
Brokentooth the Ermine munched on an apple he had found in the woods. Unlike most of Grund's Horde, he as not particularly picky about what he ate. "Brokentooth, bet ye can't 'it that gull wit one of yer arrows!" said a rat, who was sitting next to him. Brokentooth was a skilled archer, and was up to the challenge. Standing up, he took aim and fired. The gull plummeted to the ground. "Nice shot." Said the rat, then ran off to get the bird over to his campfire.
Grund sat back down when Jantar entered. He motioned toward the remaining seat. "I wanna know three things, Jantar. Where is my brother, what's ee thinkin an doin, and is the wolverine gonna betray me?" "Urry up wif it to."
Vatra entered the abbey and went up to the abbesses room. She pushed the door open a crack knocking lightly as she did so. The abbess looked up from her chair her glasses slipped down the bridge of her nose. "Yes,"
"Abbess there is a fox at the front gate he says he has important information,"
Arya started knocking harder and harder;although she was afraid to bang much harder because she did Not want to knock it down!!
Dritsek was taking her daily walk around the inside of the walls when she heard somebeast banging away at the north-west wallgate. "What in th' name o' seasons is makin' that racket?" she muttered, then raised her voice so whoever was on the other side could hear her. "I warn ye, if y'don't pack in that noise, I'll open the gate right into yore face! Who is it, anyway- friend'r foe?"
FRIEND!!! Come on, Dritsek, you know me!!! It's Arya!! I have important news!!!
Jantar went straight to the fire that was steadily burning in the middle of the tent.
She burned some feathers, and cast some powers into the fire making the flames change colour.
Jantar rolled her eyes upward making it look as if they had disappeared. "Micra chodo mack looet." Jantar chanted and then cast some small bones, stones, and shells onto the floor. She studied them carefully. "Your brother is in the wood, of moss. He goes to the red fortress of the warrior mice, he means to warn them of your coming." She then screamed as if stabbed and leapt back from the fallen objects.
Dritsek opened the wallgate, and shut it quickly once Arya was inside. "Well, how'm I s'pose e to know who's on the other side of a closed gate, eh? What is it anyway, Arya?"
Grund growled, "Quite yor mumbo jumbo, ermine!" (or fox) "Now, Gemma a clear explanation of what ee's doin! And, what's the wolverine thinkin,!"
OOC: snow fox
BIC Jantar began to chant, "Do not fight the magic sword, with old steel, it will mean certain death for you and all you serve you! I hear the voices those went before, they shout, Stay away, for that place is cursed!"
She then looked up at Grund. "He is in Mossflower woods, and has gone to the legendary home of the warrior mice, Redwall Abbey. The wolverine is a stupid beast, and he beliefs that you will play him straight, he wants the riches you promised him. But he is no worry of yours, if he fails you will kill him, and if he succeeds, you will also kill him."
Yatar's sharp eyes managed to catch a glimpse of a shadowy figure disappearing into the trees. "Ya, that wasa beast!" he scratched his head thoughtfully. "Almost certainly a scout." He looked at the abbey door, his voice turning to slight annoyance. "Are they gonna let us in or not? So much for their hospitalization reputation!"
OOC: Nice try with the rhyme, but it's, "Reputation of hospitality." Hospitalization is when you need to go to the hospital (or already are there).
I plan on making my first post soon, but I'm finding it tricky to toss myself in here. ;)
Zu and Kogane had not gone in to breakfast as they had planned, they had stood next to the gate and discussed whether or not to let the fox in "Perhaps he wishes to spy on us and report back to whoever he serves"
"Perhaps he wishes to sell us information, if there is one, there is likely a horde"
"If that is the case then he is endangering his life by bringing us information"
"That would mean he is in serious danger, does this abbey not pledge itself to helping those in need?"
"If that is so, we should let him in, if he tries to attack us I think that we could easily overpower him"
"Shi, let's let him in"
They opened the gate and allowed the fox and his companion in "Ohayogozaimasu" said the marten "My name is Kogane and this is Zhuangjia De, my sensei"
Zu nodded "Against the wishes of another inhabitant of the abbey we have allowed you in because we realized that your lives may have been in danger however we shall not allow you into the building itself until the Abbess decides whether or not to do so, in addition both of us will guard you at all times until the Abbess decides what to do. Now that that is out of the way, what are your names?"

Yatar stepped through the immense abbey walls. He was surprised how thick they were. He drew in a sharp breath. He had seen buildings as big as it, but Redwall had a certin mystical beauty to it. He turned to the Japanese Marten and his companion.
"My name is Yatar. Thank you for your hospitality. My friend has a message, an important one."
OOC: He's not a pine marten, he's a different kind of marten called a Japanese marten
Without another word the abbess got up and and Vatra fallowed her down the stairs through grate hall past the tapestry of Martin the Warrior and out on to the abbey grounds where she saw Zu and Kogane talking with the Fox and another creature who she hadn't seen before.
"Thank you for letting us in." Said Hail, being very careful to keep his swords hidden underneath his cloak. "But where is the squirrel who met me at the gate?" He was looking around, taking in the wonder of the abbey.
The Abbess approached Hail and said "Welcome to Redwall, I hear you need a place to stay. You may stay so long as you abide by our rules here. The Abby is a place of peace and protection we allow no violence here," At the word Violence Vatra bit er lip. She was the exception to that rule. She was working on her temper but sometimes she couldn't help it especially when the bloodwrath came on. Just last weak, in a fit of rage, she had all but destroyed the kitchen and the preparing's of the evening meal along with it.
Grund smiled, "thankee, Jantar. 'eres a reward" he said, throwing the fox a a bottle of strong wine, and a hunk of grilled salmon. "And Jantar, one more thing." "Should i ask my best adventurerer where Redwall is, or do 'ee know where it is?"
Jantar readily shoved the wine and salmon into her bag before replying. "I know very well where it is lord. You have no need to doubt my word. I have always been loyal and have never lied to you. I can lead you to this Redwall place, but be warned it is a place of great magic, and is cursed. Greater hordes than this one have fallen by the sword of the warriors there. Not that I doubt your ability but those under you lord, some of them have never even been in a seige. And it is winter, we would starve before we ever broke through their gates."

Hail shifted nervously, wondering whether he would be allowed to retain possesion of his swords. He decided to keep them hidden, as he always felt safer with his blades nearby. "I think we can abide by that rule, abbes. Thank you for letting us in."
Grund was smarter than he looked. He thought he could take it over.
"Then we will attack in spring, which is coming in a about 6 says. Then you will lead us dere, Jantar." "Now, let me eat in peace."
OOC: Isn't this supposed to be mid-winter? Otherwise the title would be kinda stupid. Also, I'd advise attacking sooner because six days RP time is like.... a REALLY long time in real life it takes weeks generally.

Grund knew it was mid winter. He had to attack. "We to at first morn's light."

Ervoyce the Shadow was currently trekking through the southern end of Mossflower, "So much fer tha' south being warmer." The cold pierced deep, and though Ervoyce was used to these kinds of conditions, the air seemed to posses an almost evil tinge of cold. He smiled as he started to recognize some of the landmarks that showed he was close to Redwall, "Guess I better hurry if I intend on joinin' em for tea. With that, he raced into and through the trees to close the distance between him and the beloved Abbey.
The Abbess nodded then said "I was told that you have important information,"
"I do," admitted Hail. "The 'orde o' my... o' an Arctic Fox, Grund Strongblade, plans on taking the abbey. They've 'eard tales of it, and are also hunting a creature who fled from them." He shot several looks at Yater during this, hoping the Ground Hog would know not to say anything about why the Horde was coming.
Yatar noticed Hail giving him several looks, and instantly knew he had to be careful about what he said from now on.
"All this I can confirm abbess. The abbey might possibly be in mortal danger."
He nodded. "Oh, please forgive me, did you say no weapons?
He unstrapped the crossbelts which held the twin spears he wore on his back. The weapons gave hardly any sound as they dropped onto the frosty grass. However, he did not revel he had possession of his single-bladed shortsword. He had never given it to anybeast and he was not about to start now. Besided, he always felt safer with it.
Vatra looked at the weapons on the ground she new some one should probably take them and put them away some were for safe keeping but she didn't want to get anyone hurt so she stayed away from them. The Abbes nodded and thanked the fox for his help then she turned to Vatra and said
"Please show our guests to there room. Once you have got you self settled I would like to talk to you about this horde. Zu and Kogane I would like you two to be there as well. Meet me in Cavern Hole"
Vatra nodded but didn't say anything she didn't like this fox she didn't trust him he was hiding something and she didn't like it but she didn't want to loose her temper with him so she kept quiet. She tuned and signaled to Hail and Yatar to fallow her.
OOC: Any one can take over the abbess I am in no way planing to make her my character.
Zu bowed "As you wish mother Abbess" he and his apprentice made their way indoors
Ervoyce spotted the walls and spires through the barren branches, he smiled, "Looks like ah'll be joinin' the Abbey for tea after all!" The squirrel took two more short leaps just before the wall and sprung onto his traditional landing spot, though it was a bit more slippery than anticipated. "whump" Ervoyce shook his head after falling into a bank of snow just over the edge of the wall, "Well that was graceful, maybe next time I should just shout my stupidity from mountain tops and chirp like a pigeon!" After snowing himself off he headed towards the front Abbey entrance, didn't want to startle anyone now did he? He'd been gone for quite a long time now. He smiled as he said, "It's good to be back Redwall!"
Vatra entered the Abbey building and crossed Grate Hall She kept looking behind her to make sure They were still fallowing her.

Jantar bowed to Grund and left his tent, when she was safely in her tent next door she did a special test only known to her to make sure the wine and salmon weren't poisoned. All safe, she tucked in readily, in the winter you didn't turn down food. Not if you wanted to survive.

BIC: Dritsek was taken aback by Arya's outburst. "Uh, well, now. That is indeed interestin' news. But what d'ye expect me t'do? Fly there an' stop th' horde single-pawed? All I can do fer y' right now is t' talk to th' abbess." Muttering under her breath, the otter left to find the abbess. Hadn't she seen her going to the main building? Well, there was Vatra- maybe she should ask her... But Vatra was being followed, and didn't seem to notice the fox and ground hog behind her.

Now she was probably trying to get back at her.

Left to her own devices, Arya decided to follow the handsome squirrel at a distance, of course! (if ya have a problem with this please tell me and I'll fix, promise)
Ervoyce found it somewhat unusual, but mostly understandable that there were almost no beasts in the yard. The rugged squirrel entered the Abbey. Blowing into and rubbing his half-gloved hands to regain any kind of temperature he hunch-walked about half-way down the corridor before standing up-right again. From there he entered Great Hall, "'Scuse me, but does anybeast know where tha' Abbess is at this current time?"
OOC: You're fine, but handsome isn't necessarily the first word that would come to mind when you see Ervoyce, he's a former mercenary and gained quite a few (mostly unnoticeable) scars, he's got more of the tough guy good looking thing going, or more like good looking FOR a man of the wilderness kind of thing. This due to the fact that he's since become more self-aware after giving up mercenary-hood.

BIC: Dritsek gave Vatra a bemused look, but decided to act unconcerned about the utterly obvious matter of a
fox in the abbey. "Well 'scuse
me, tail-chopper. I'm just lookin' fer th' abbess. Arya's got some news 'bout a horde or summat. Oh, hello- an' who's this?" she asked nonchalantly, gesturing to Hail and Yatar. If that addle-brained squirrel hadn't seen them yet, she certainly would now.
"They are guests, they already told the abbess about the horde and there is going to be a counsel in Cavern Hole. Arya can join I suppose she might have some important information," Vatra said "and they are fallowing me cuz I told them to not because I'm being stalked, at least not by them,"
"An 'orde? Beat this Arya to it. Yater an' I 'ave already warned tha abbes o the 'orde. Where's Arya coming from?" Hail had his own reasons for asking, as he would enjoy having news of where his brothers horde was.

BIC: Arya heard her name mentioned, she stopped following the squirrel, and tip-toed over there "Excuse me, but why do you ask where I come from? that is my business, and I see no reason to tell you where I come from, so unless you convince me, I won't tell you. Now speak up!" she said civilly.
From her place on the stairs Vatra could see over the heads of the other creatures and by the entrance to the Grate Hall she saw a black squirrel. He was to far away to talk to though.

Hail blinked in suprise at how he was being addressed. Usually creatures were considerably kinder when talking to him. But then again, creatures usually thought he and his brother were friends. "Convince ya? I ask where ya come from, 'cause there's a horde of vermin that are after the abbey. Apparently ya told this otter about an 'orde, and we may be talking about tha same one. I ask where you're from, 'casue then we'll know 'ow close they are."

"I don't know," Replied Hail. "That's why I'm asking where you're from, since you saw an 'orde."

BIC: "North west of here, moving toward the Mountain, Salamandastron. Is that enough information, fox?? I have other things to do. Urgent things"
"Brake it up you two! there will be plenty of time to discus this at the meeting," She said tuning and heading up the stairs indicating that Hail should fallow with a wave of her paw.
Yatar was amazed at how quickly the tension had got in just a few seconds, and he was glad when the squirrel broke the two up. He thought it was slightly unfair that Arya had classified Hail as a vermin, and, like the fox, wondered how she had known about the horde.
"Hey, wait for me!" He yelled in mock indignation as the artic fox walked off.
Zanga hurried down the woodland path that lead to Redwall Abbey. Using his staff he beat away any foliage that got in his way.
When he sighted the top, of Redwall Abbey, and the Bell tower roof, he broke into a run. He speeded down the path jumping over snow drifts. He skidded to a halt in front of the Main Gate.
Zanga guessed there should be some sort of gatekeeper so he banged hard. He didn't shout though, he was suffering from a cold, and his throat was sore.
Zanga beat furiously at the gate with his staff, getting more and more frustrated.
Arya was walking outside, and heard the banging. " friend or foe?" she called.
Zanga tried shouting friend but just ended up coughing. He found a crack in the woodwork, and whispered so that his throat wouldn't hurt. "Friend, I need to talk to whoevers in charge."
Zanga, is that you? Hang on, I'm getting the gate open!" Arya opened the gate, then embraced her old frined "you look just as good as ever, Friend! Come on, there is to be a meeting soon, you can talk to the Abbess then! Right you need to be inside, as I see you have cold!"
OOC: Zanga has never met anyone at the abbey before, but since Arya is also a traveller I guess they could know each other.
BIC: Zanga nodded, and then coughed. He let Arya lead him away without comment.
He was cold, so very cold.
"Here, take my cloak. You seem so cold! You shouldn't have let it get this bad, Zanga!" Arya scolded.
Zanga didn't reply, but he took the cloak readily. Upon reaching the Abbey door, Zanga opened it himself, and rushed inside. Looking for a fireplace of some sort.
"Come on, there's a fire in Cavern Hole...I think that's where the meeting is going to be, anyway!I'll be right back with a mug of nice, hot tea.....Or would you prefer something different?" Arya asked.
Zanga shook his head, tea would be perfect.
Zanga didn't know where Cavern Hole was, but a small flight of stairs across the room, and the noise of talking creature lead him to the room.
He hesitated outside the door, he was terribly shy, and no one knew him, so they might think he had broken in or something. Zanga decided to wait for Arya to come, she would explain to the other creatures, how he had gotten in.
Arya got the cup of hot tea, and went to find Zanga "You're right outside Cavern Hole, and it sounds like the meeting started...Or maybe not...Well, here's your tea." Arya said, giving him the tea, and opening the door.
OOC: Where did everyone go? ??? I've been sitting here waiting for the meeting to start for quite awhile now, but it's just Rachel and Cornflower posting.
OOC: I know, but when you post will you please say something OTHER than OOC:??
BIC: Arya lead Zanga into Cavern Hole, wondering why the handsome squirrel was here.
OOC: I have no idea. I'm definitely still here through, I just wasn't posting because I had nothing to go on.
BIC: Yatar looked around at the assembly of creatures who filled Cavern Hole. Squirrels, otters, hedgehogs, shrews, and of course mice, sat around the main meeting table. He sat here too, of course, him traveling with Hail and all. He wondered when the meeting was going to start. He took a small sip of damson wine, noticing two new arrivals at the entrance, an otter and a squirrel. Then they walked it, prehaps joined the group. He hope they would start soon. Every second the horde must be getting closer.
Arya found a seat and patted the one next to her for Zanga.
After Vatra had lead the two to cavern hole she had ligered in the door way wondering whether or not she should stay. She might be able to help but then it might arouse her. Finally she went over to the table and sat down in one of the chairs as far away from Hail as she could.

Ervoyce never got a reply, but there seemed to be a rumpus being raised in Cavern Hole. After quickly traversing the hallways to the meeting area, the squirrel came to a quick stop and decided to wait on the outer edge, no need to disrupt anything this important looking. He leaned against the carved walls and listened from his place on the outskirts...
" 'Scuse me," called Hail. "Abbes, are the creatures that ya wanted at this meeting all 'ere? If so, can we get started?"
"Yes, sorry for taking so long," said the abbes. "Hail, what do you have to say."
"I'm 'ere to tell you, creatures of Redwall, that an 'orde of creatures, vermin such as rats and ermine, are marching towards Redwall, and plan to take it over." A silence fell over the hall at this point, and a few creatures started panicking.
Zanga felt extremely self-conscious, he held his tea in one paw, and took a sip. He was relieved when Arya gestured for him to sit next to her.
Zanga crept over, and sat down, when Hail began talking Zanga's eyes went wide, not because of what the fox was saying, Zanga knew about the horde, that was one of the reasons he had come to Redwall, to warn everyone. The other reason was standing before him, the fox who was speaking, the horde was his brothers, and Zanga also knew, that a wolverine was on his way to kill Hail.
Zanga was desperate to tell everyone what he knew, but his throat was so sore, and he had lost his voice. He couldn't write either, so how.
Yatar only half-listened the what Hail was saying, mainly because he had heard the tail as they had been traveling to Redwall. The groundhog studied the creatures surrounding him. He doubted any of they had seen war, let alone participate in it. Would they be able to fend the foe-beast off? He had no idea. He watched as some of them panicked when told the news, and grimaced. They were definitely not going to win the upcoming war like this.
Zu got to his feet "Everyone, please! Panicking will get us nowhere!" When he was satisfied that the occupants of Cavern Hole had calmed down sufficiently he resumed talking "The most sensible thing to do in this situation would be to mount a wall guard and to start training those who are able to fight. I know that this abbey strives for peace but when war is upon you, you have to act. I suggest that those versed in the ways of weaponry, such as myself and my apprentice, should teach those that are not so that we may be better prepared"
"I too, have seen this horde, and I agree with the Pangolin that was just spoken. As I am trained with Bows & Arrows, as well as Daggers, I ask permission to start training some beasts with them. May I?" Arya asked.
Ervoyce had considered stepping in since Skipper didn't seem to be present at the moment, but Zu took over before things got out of hand.
Listening to the offers and advice being shared, the squirrel considered some options himself, but decided to wait until he speak more privately about them instead of alerting everybeast to his presence. He didn't like to make himself the object of attention before he had spoken with the Abbess to get up to speed on Abbey life. So he stayed quiet, thinking hard about possible ways to keep away the invaders until he had a chance to speak them aloud.
OOC: Sorry I haven't been here in a while, but luckily it appears I wasn't needed or anything? How long until first morning light....
OOC: Ages, as this rp started during the day, it's probably almost lunch time

BIC: Arya shrugged, it looked like they were going to argue for awhile...

Zanga tugged at Arya's sleeve, desperate to tell her what he knew. Oh how he hated this cold!
"Is something wrong, Zanga? Do you want more tea?" Arya asked.
OOC: Wow! This went really far really quick! Sorry I've been gone. Anyway, gonna do a little time-skip here and pretend that Dritsek continued with Hail & Co. to the meeting and has been there the whole time.
BIC: Dritsek sat quietly in the back of Cavern Hole, listening to the suggestions being made. Somewhat reluctantly, she stood up. "If it'll 'elp, I c'n teach paw t' paw fightin', an' 'ow t' 'andle a blade." To be honest though, the hot-headed otter wasn't the most patient teacher...
Vatra had quite a bit of experience with a sword but she new that it would be a bad idea for her even to get near a sword much less teach someone how to use it.
Zanga shook his head, and tried to speak, but it just came out as a croak. He quickly had another drink of his tea, which sort of helped his throat, and spoke just above a whisper, "That fox, who was speaking a moment ago. Well the horde coming is his brother's horde, and there's a wolverine on his way sent by the brother to kill that there fox."
He then sat back down, because he had had to get quite close to Arya's ear to tell the news, and broke out coughing.
"Really, Zanga? I'll tell them. Zanga here says that the fox who just spoke, is the brother of the one who leads this Horde. He also says that there is a wolverine on the way sent to kill him" Arya said.
Zanga cringed, he had hoped Arya wouldn't be so up front about it. In case more panic was coursed or the fox, Zanga thought he heard his name was Hail, might try something.
Hail was silent for a moment before responding. He had tried to keep it hidden that it was his brothers horde, as they may not trust him afterwords. "Yes, it's my brothers horde," he admittted. "Now, what's this about a Wolverine after me?"
"That is what Zanga told me! He has a cold at the moment, so he told me to tell you beasts!
Yatar wasn't too surprised about the news of the wolverine. Why shouldn't Hail's evil brother brought some extra help? He was more interested as to how there were three independent witnesses of the horde. He studied the otter sitting next to Arya. Were had he come from?
"Have any of you seen this monster of which you speak?" the groundhog asked.
Zanga didn't like the amount of beasts staring at him, but he pretended not to notice, and tugged Arya's sleeve again.
He had to tell her how close the wolverine was to the Abbey, and about the conversation he had over heard between Hail's brother, and some sort of seer fox.
" Yes, Zanga?" Arya asked, bending down so Zanga wouldn't have stretch up quite so far.
Ooc: This is gonna take FOREVER, and I thought it was nearly night. :-\
OOC: Why are you waiting for night?
OOC: You can head out now and arrive tomorrow morning.

Zanga felt extremely confused. He hated all this shouting, and talking.
He just settled himself into his chair, which was very comfy after traveling all day, and closed his eyes. His footpaws, and paws hurt, and ached as they warmed up from being numb. But soon Zanga was fast asleep.
Yatar was getting tired of the needless talking. An old motto sprang to mind; Strike while the iron is hot. What were they doing when a crisis was about to hit?
"If this...thing...is coming, maybe we should actually get out and defend instead of sitting in here supping our hot drinks!"
To illustrate the point he slammed the single edged shortsword into the table. He immediately regretted the action. Several mice and shrews leaped back, getting a fright. He stared at the quivering hilt, now realizing that he wasn't even ment to have the weapon on him anyway.
Ervoyce couldn't help but reply to the vermins' suggestion, "Naught but fools would leave a walled position for open combat, especially when the majority of the beasts present have next to no fighting skill." The squirrel scooted a little farther into the hall so he wouldn't be so shaded, "You seem to forget that you are standing midst an Abbey that stands for peace, these beasts cook, heal, clean, brew, invent, till, sport. They don't fight, making that large of a transition is already going to be difficult enough with what little time there is."
Yatar stared at the squirrel, and nodded at his statement.
"Of course. We can't just go rushing into a mindless battle, forgive my outburst. What frustrates me is the amount of little fighting power we have to distribute amoung the walltops."
He took his shortsword, slipping it into the back of his belt. Occasionly he let anger grip him, but now he would try and save it for the vermin horde's assult.
Grund caught the annoyance. "You best make shore (purposely misspelled) yor loyalt'i shows, fox. Now, I believe we should go now, and end up there by morn. Waddaya say?"
Arya covered Zanga with her cloak, thinking he might like it as a blanket. When the squirrel spoke she agreed with him, but didn't want to draw more attention to herself. Besides, she had already offered to with training if they decided to do that.
Vatra jumped to her feet when the weapon thudded into the table. She watched the black squirrel and listened to what he had to say. Than She spoke up "We should shore up the gates and prepare to defend the wall tops. there will probably be a siege so we should make sure the kitchens and infirmary are stocked up as well,"
OOC: "ACH! Not the sedge!!!!!" ;D Sedge is a sharp grass (it will slice your fingers if you're not careful!) but I'm assuming you meant Siege.
OOC: Ack! Stupid typo! >:( And thanks for telling me.
Jantar licked her dry lips, she mustn't let this happen. "Lord, it is getting dark. Maybe you should wait until dawn. Then the horde will be fit for travelling."

In his sleep Zanga felt something being laid on top of him. Whatever it was, It was warm, and therefore welcome.
He snuggled deeper into his chair, and shifted into a more comfortable position.
Arya smiled at the otter, as she wondered why he couldn't have been a squirrel.......

BIC: Arya spoke up, "Excuse me, But they WILL try to Seige you out, so I suggest we follow that plan."

BIC: Karataka stretched it his tent, admiring the huge double-edged flint axe he had recently made. Complete with bone handle, the axe would be a great main weapon. He glanced at his other weapons, the long bone bow, and a sharkskin quiver full of flint and bone-shard tipped arrows. He hoped to be using them soon. He wondered when they would be moving out.

Yatar looked at the squirrel.
"Aye, almost certainly there'll be a seige. A looong and bitteeeeer one..." Gradually he voice got lower, 'till nobeast could hear him. Sometimes he received flashs of what he imagined were the future, but how could they be? He shook his head, trying to clear it. Maybe it was the stuffy air.

BIC: Arya stared at the Ground hog, knowing one with the second sight when she saw one, as it takes one to know one, right?

Zanga, who now felt refreshed after his sleep, woke up, and looked around.
Everybeast was still deciding what to do. They couldn't carry on like this.
It was then that Zanga realized his throat felt a lot better, and wasn't so sore. Great now he could voice his opinion, though he would leave it for a while. Zanga didn't like being the centre of attention, and would rather speak only when he needed to.
"Oh, you're awake! Feel any better?" Arya asked Zanga.

Jantar bowed again, and returned to her tent. It was time to sleep, the horde would be setting out as early as possible. Jantar knew Grund would do so, he was eager to be on the move.
"Good idea. Want anything? Hmm, I wonder when the meeting's going to end..."
Zanga thought for a moment, it was then he realized how hungry he was. "I could murder a bowl of soup, and a bread roll." He replied readily.
"All right! Veggie soup sound good? With a good bread roll coming up!" Arya said, going to fetch them.
@Dan, is Ervoce in the hallway still??
Zanga frowned, he had been hoping for soup hotroot, and shrimp soup. Surly the cook would make him some if they heard he was serving an otter.
Arya went to the kitchens, coming back with some Shrimp and Hotroot soup, with two rolls, and a pitcher of pennycloud cordial, thinking to surprise the otter. " Here you are! Some shrimp and hotroot soup, extra spicy, two rolls, and some pennycloud cordial! Ha ha, you really thought I was going to bring an otter veggie soup??"
OOC: I entered the room and talked. ;)
Zanga rubbed his paws together, "I wasn't sure." He said, "Um, Arya is it alright that I eat this here. What with a meeting happening....."
Ooc: I think you should play abbess, faiyloe.
Bic: Grund awoke in his sleep and headed toward the toilet hole...

Zanga smiled, and tucked in. The soup was amazing, and the soft bread rolls, were heavenly. And the pennycloud cordial was extremely refreshing.
"Thanks Arya, I feel a lot better now. Arya? Arya, are you ok?" Zanga had noticed how stiff Arya had gone.
"What? Oh, I'm fine...I do that sometimes!!" she said and rushed of.
The Abbess (Her name shall be Russina) Said "I have decided I will leave the defense of my Abbey to you, Arya, wherever she went, and you Zhuang!"
OOC: saw that one coming ;)
Zanga felt extremely puzzled, and when the lady in charge promoted Arya, and some other beast in charge of the defences, he was flabbergasted. Arya, in charge!?!
He also felt, a little upset that he hadn't been asked, but then again he hadn't offered, in fact he hadn't said anything to anyone except Arya.
He wondered when somebeast would notice him as well. It was like he didn't exist.
Russina then said, "This meeting is now closed and done!!! Thank you, people!!"
Russina, passing by Zanga, asked him "Hello! I don't believe we've met? I'm Russina, Mother Abbess! I hope you enjoy your stay!"
OOC: What? I had to something for Arya to do! She can't be chasing Ervoyce all the time, can she?? ;) ;)
Zanga blushed, "Hi."
It was all he managed. He then started fiddling with a bead necklace hanging around his neck. Trying not to catch, Russina's eye.

Ervoyce breathed a sigh of relief, the meeting was over! He waited until the Abbess was done talking with Zanga before attempting to converse with her, "Abbess Russina!" He grinned as she turned, "Long time no see, though I wish it could have been under better circumstances. Anything I can do to help?"
OOC: I'm not playing the Abbess, nut turning around when someone says your name is kind of un-avoidable. ;)
Zu was slightly put out that the abbess had not chosen him to lead defenses, true he had only been staying at the abbey for a short time but he doubted that that squirrel could do half of the things he had taught his apprentice, they had both been trained by the foremost blademasters of their respective provinces after all. He took a deep breath, familiarity begets comfort after all, it was only natural that the abbess would choose someone from her own country. Kogane placed a paw on his sensei's shoulder, understanding the emotions that he must be feeling "Do not worry sensei Zhuang, pride cometh before the fall"
"You are right of course, Kogane-kun, thank you. Shall we go and see if the squirrel needs any help organising the defence?"
"I would rather train some more first"
"As you wish apprentice" Zu smiled "Watashi wa watashi ga tameshita baai demo, watashi wa anata o tomeru koto ga dekiru to wa omowanai"

"As much as I'd love to, I'd hate to leave everybeast else to do things that I'm far more qualified for, especially since I owe the inhabitants of this Abbey for the joy I've been able to gain here. Maybe later, but for now, I think it would be better if I was assisting." Ervoyce paused, "Sooo.... What would you like me to do? If you've got enough trainers then I can be commissioned elsewhere, you're going to need strategists, scouts, trainers, organizers... Where do you want me?"
"Any where you're needed! Have you met Arya? That would be a starting place, and she needs to know that she's half responsible for defenses of the Abbey, anyway!
"In that case I should meet up with both of the creatures you named. Zhu was the other one right?" Ervoyce paused yet again to think, "Hmm... I think most of the beasts followed Arya, and I can see why, so I think I'll go find the foreigners first since I'll be able to talk to them faster." He turned to leave, "I'll be seeing you around Abbess! Best of luck to you!" With that, the squirrel set off to find the Martin and Pangolin.

BIC: Arya wandered around the Orchard, trying to get her thoughts straight. She wondered if that handsome squirrel had a mate, then thought no, she mustn't get into that. And so on and so on.

"In that case I should meet up with both of the creatures you named. Zhu was the other one right?" Ervoyce paused yet again to think, "Hmm... I think most of the beasts followed Arya, and I can see why, so I think I'll go find the foreigners first since I'll be able to talk to them faster." He turned to leave, "I'll be seeing you around Abbess! Best of luck to you!" With that, the squirrel set off to find the Martins.

OOC: Cornflower I have a problem with you self appointing your own character as the primary leader for organizing the attack when there are other more capable beasts around with more experiences (As a character and as a RPr). perhaps she could be second in command of organizing the attack that would be more in character. Also just a heads up the abbesses personality is a little harsh for an abbess. Don't get me wrong it is a great personality it just doesn't fin in an abbesses habit. It is perfect for Arya but an abbess should be softer wiser. Her primary duty is to the abbey and the creatures who live there. Don't feel like I am attacking you or anything I just wanted to stat my opinion.
BIC: Vatra stood up. She had stayed sitting at the table for a while thinking about what had been said. She walked slowly out of the abbey building. they should probably start gathering ammunition and stocking up food. She went over to hail and said "do you need anything?"
Zanga had been doing what he did best, observing.
He had listened to all the conversations going on around him, and had stored all the information away.
Zanga felt it was time to do something, he wanted to see more of this place. It looked like it could house half of Salamanderstron's hares for seasons.
Zanga stood up, and headed over to the door he had come in through. He started to look around this other big room. Which looked like a banquet hall.
He was awe struck by the tapestries hanging on the walls, but one in particular caught his attention.
It was huge, and right in the centre of it stood a mouse, leaning on a sword. Enemies were fleeing from him in all directions.
Zanga wondered who this mouse was, and was there really such a thing as the beautiful sword he was leaning on?

BIC: Arya decided to walk around the pond, as seeing she was thirsty, and did not want to go back into the Abbey, for obvious reasons.
Hail stood up and left the hall as soon as the meeting was over. He walked outside, and started wandering aimlessly.

Brokentooth was exhausted. Grund had forced them to march towards Redwall extremely quickly. He could only suppose that Grund's brother had escaped him to many times for Grund to wait.
Zanga then whirled around hearing a noise behind him...
Ooc: We are not at the abbey yet, we are at least a league (about 3 miles) away. We set off tomorrow at first light
Ervoyce found Zhu and his compatriot shortly after, "Excuse me! I don't believe we've met." As he came upon the beasts he held out his hand to shake, "I'm Ervoyce, a traveler that frequents the Abbey. I figured that I should become familiar with the beasts that are supposed to keep track of the defenses, anything in particular that you'd like assistance with? I'll need to meet with the other first before doing anything, but while I'm here you might as well voice your needs."
Arya bent to get her drink of water. When she got her water she decided to walk around the Lawns. When she was walking around she heard somebeast finishing a sentence "Anything in particular that you'd like assistance with? I'll need to meet with the other first before doing anything, but while I'm here you might as well voice your needs."
Zu took the proferred hand "Konnichiwa" he said "My name is Zhuangjia De but you can call me Zu" the marten also shook the squirrel's hand "Nice to meet you, I'm Kogane"
"In regards to what we need" said Zu "I'm not quite sure other than wall guard and combat instructors, we shall have to ask this 'Arya' but in the mean time, would you like to spar with us?"
When Arya heard her name she walked up to them and said "Hello, I'm Arya. I heard you discussing me? Is there a problem?"
Ervoyce took it upon himself to answer, "Not that I'm aware of," how convenient, the other appointee had found him herself, "Greetings, I'm Ervoyce. We were just discussing the protection of the Abbey." Turning his attention back to the foreigners he gave his thoughts on what they had said, "Point well made, and seeing how little I know about you two I think that's a wonderful idea."
OOC: And I had just finished writing out a reply when you posted ::). I take it that you meant sparring was a wonderful idea
"Arigato" said Zu as he unsheathed his swords. The pangolin took up an offensive stance as his apprentice did likewise "It will be interesting to see how you westerners are taught to fight compared to in Hakaan" he grinned "Try not to take it too hard if we beat you hollow, we've had years of training"
"Decorum and respect for opponents sensei"
"Ah yes, forgive me but I do seem to get over excited at the thought of a good fight"
"I'll say" muttered Kogane
"What was that apprentice?"
"Nothing sensei"
Ervoyce chuckled, "You'll find that we can be familiar with weapons, though your direction is a little off," the black squirrel slowly drew his darkened sword, "I'm not from the west, I'm from the North." He closed his eyes briefly, then snapped them open, "The far North!" The former mercenary was prepared.
Vatra had left cavern hole and made her way to the abbey grounds just in time to see Ervoyce and Zu preparing to fight. She knew Zu was always doing things like that. She went over to get a better look.

Zanga was relieved to find that the noise, had been the Abbey door being opened then shut.
Zanga wondered where Everybeast had got to. Maybe they were outside checking defences?
Zanga walked over to the abbey door, opened it, and shut it again. He followed some paw prints in the snow over to where it seemed a good natured fight was taking place.
Zanga leaned against a tree, getting himself comfortable.
Arya shook her head, thinking, "Male beasts! Such stupidity, and then the urge to fight!" Still shaking her head, she asked "Um, isn't it a little unfair to have two against one? Pardon me if I'm wrong."
OOC: It is just Zu and Ervoyce fighting.
OOC: Whoops! Will change!
OOC: No, it's Kogane, Zu, and Ervoyce. :)

Ervoyce scoped his opponents, they both seemed to be capable fighters judging by their stances and form. He decided that his first target would be Zhu since he had been appointed a leader, always best to know what your leaders were capable of. He made small hop to the Sensei and struck diagonally, going from the left knee to mid chest height.
Ervoyce had nearly hit her when he struck out at the pangolin. She jumped back just in time though. She said, "Well, suit yourself! I would have helped, you know!" She marched off, in a bad temper.
OOC: Hm. Long absences really are a nuisance. Could someone please give me a quick recap of what's happened? The last stuff I was here for was on page 9, when everyone was still talking about the strategy and such.
OOC: Hardly anything has happened. The meeting has just ended, and Jet and Dan are having a sparring match outside.
OOC: Okay, cool. Thanks! :)
Arya had stormed off to her room, furious at the handsome squirrel. She started finding him less and less attractive as time went by.
Zanga was impressed with the sparer's, the certainly knew what they were doing.
He noticed Arya storming off, but he didn't follow her. He was to interested to see who would win.
Zu stepped back, avoiding Ervoyce's strike by a hair's breadth. He flicked his sword up behind him, blocking a strike from Kogane "That was underhanded my apprentice" he twisted his sword and Kogane's blade flew out of his hand and stuck in the ground. Zu struck out diagonally at Ervoyce with his left whilst also horizontally with his right.
Ervoyce turned and tilted his body to avoid the first strike, and guided the second hard towards the ground and back. The squirrel used the recoil to give momentum to a swift thrust just to the right of his opponents neck.
As Hail walked around the abbey, he heard a commotion. Running to where he had heard it, he saw Ervoyce, Zu, and Kogane locked in a duel. "Stop!" He shouted, running towards them. His pawn drifted towards his twin rapiers, which were hidden beneath his cloak, and he repeated himself. "Stop!"
Vatra grabbed Hails shoulder " Hey it is just a bit of fun, calm down"
After the meeting had dispersed, Yatar had gone for a quite walk around the abbey pond. The groundhog alway did this before battle, calming his whole body down and not thinking about anything. He found a nice grassy spot by the water edge, where he settled down and closed his eyes. However, he was rudely interupted by some shouting. Scowling in annoyance, he decided to invastigate.
Coming to the scene, he could see Vatra restraining Hail, who was shouting. He walked over.
"Hail, what is it matey..."
By this time he could see the three sparring beasts. He wasn't sure if it was for real or not, and considered wading in. He saw both beasts attacking the pangalion, and noted the calm expression on the Sensei's face. Now he knew this was simply a casual contest between the three of them.
OOC: Kogane's out, it's just me and Zhu now.
OOC: Actually Kogane still has his wakizashi so he's not out just yet
"Didn't look like it from what I saw of it..." Muttered Hail. A bit embarrassed, he walked back to the pond, and sat down.
Vatra Blinked and then walked away there were to may weapons about to much fighting she was getting to riled up and the thing that scared her was that she actually liked it.
Arya went to her room, and started to just draw. That and writing were the only things that calmed her down. as her thoughts drifted to that squirrel, she scolded herself. Then after a few minutes she looked at what she was drawing. She crumpled it up and threw it out the window in the direction of the pond and the sparrers! She had meant to draw the Abbey pond, and she did, but it was what she had drawn UNDER the pond that had made her throw it. Ervoyce's face. His smile. (She'd seen it from afar) She had started drawing to forget him!! She decided to walk around. She found herself being drawn toward the fight.

Zanga watched Hail walk away looking quiet embarrassed. He watched him go to a iced over pond, then he saw something come flying out of a window. Zanga walked over to it, and picked it up. It was a scrunched up peice of paper. With the pond drawn on it, and...Zanga look harder. Yes, a picture of a smiling squirrel. The same squirrel as the one saprring now.
Zanga was confused, to say the least.
OOC: I may just be stupid but I don't get why Arya is mad at Ervoyce for having a friendly sparring match, would anyone care to explain?
OOC: Because Arya got too close and almost had her ears clipped. ;D

BIC: Arya went wondering and then spotted Zanga. So she went over and said, Hello Zanga!" Then she noticed what he had in his hand. "Zanga!!!!!! Can
I have that please? You didn't look at it, did you? It's mine.....Can I please have that back?!?!?!?!?!" She demanded. She was embarrassed that someone had found it, since she didn't like ANYONE looking at her work, especially since that particular bit of work had Ervoyce's face on it. She also hoped that Zanga (Since he had obviously looked at it; it was all over his face!) wouldn't piece together that she kinda liked that squirrel. Not that she admit it, unless it was someone she knew REALLY well, and Zanga just wasn't there yet. So she babbled. "Well, I don't usually show my work to anyone, and I only draw things I like...Oh dear! Not that I like Ervoyce, goodness no! What would make you think that??....."
Zanga wasn't stupid, and anyway a stupid beast could have guessed anyway. "Someone's in LOVE." he sing-songed. Holding the paper out of Arya's reach.
"Come on Arya, I can't help you get the "prince of your dreams" if you don't explain to me, why you like him."
"Zanga!! Shut up! Somebeast might hear you!! He just...Just.....Just is...Perfect! Come on, he's taking on two other beasts, refusing my help, and was nice about it too!" Arya said, a dreamy look on her face. Then she buckled. "So will you help me? Please! I'm afraid I haven't made the best first impression."
Zanga would never understand his friend, but he nodded, and handed Arya her picture back. "Ok, that's not much to go on, but fine. And only two beasts, yes they look capable, but I'm friends with a squirrel who took on a whole gang of vermin with me. Ah, now that was a fun weekend. Now back to business, you really like this guy, and want to impress him, right? So, just be yourself, wait till he's not sparring, and then go talk to him. Don't come across as desperate though. And don't be clingy either. Just be, I don't know, just don't be weird, or say something stupid."
OOC: Wow, I feel so special be a combat dis/praise ping pong ball. ::) First I get dissed, then I get praised, then I get dissed. *then I get dizzy* ::)

BIC: "Not say something stupid? Zanga, let me tell you something. I followed him the first time I saw him! Any other advice...??" Arya asked, getting a little flustered and embarrassed.

BIC: Zanga sighed, "Just go over, and talk to him, when he's not sparring! It's not hard really, just be yourself. And don't be creepy!" Zanga said pushing Arya over towards the sparer's.
"Well, you know what, Zanga? I think I'll talk to him later....Quit pushing me!' She said, the last bit with a yelp.
Zanga stopped. "Fine, but your not getting out of not talking to him." There was a mischivous look in his eyes.
Zanga then bent down, scooped up some snow, and made a snowball. He then walked forward a bit, so he was in range, and then threw the snowball with all his might at the back of Ervoyce's head. It was a perfect throw. He couldn't miss.
Zanga then jumped behind a tree, so the squirrel would only see Arya.
Vatra had been watching Aria and Zanga and was just going over to intervene when Zanga threw a snow ball at E Ervoyce. He wasn't going to get away with that! She bent over and made snow ball and threw it at Zanga who was behind a tree and than quickly made another one.
Hail, who had been watching this exchange with interest, laughed quietly when Zanga threw the snowball. And then, as Zanga ducked behind a tree, he noticed Vatra making her own snowball, and throwing it. He decided to join in, and made his own, throwing it at Vatra, then diving behind a large rock that was poking out of the snow. As soon as he was behind it, he started making a stockpile of snowballs, ready to throw them at any creature who dared to throw some at him!
Ooc: So I sit around waiting for night, and you'll get

OOC: Hey, I'm still waiting for Jet to respond. ::) Who's in charge? Because Jet's been gone for forever.
OOC: I was hoping for you to get hit by the snowball then turn around thus rendering the duel moot

Ervoyce heard a whistle, and felt something shatter on his right ear, "Somebeast fealin' mischievous eh?" He peaked behind himself to see Arya, as well as a passing snowball that appeared to be threatening somebeasts dry clothes. It was Vatra, who in turn was mercilessly attacked by another sphere of puffy frozen water. The squirrel rolled his eyes before speaking once again to his sparring partners, "Perhaps another time my friends, but apparently others need looking over."
Vatra Got the snowball square in the face. ooooh! is he going to get it! she thought. she wiped the snow from her eyes and brushed the rest off the end of her nose. I'm glad I wore a scarf, she thought.
She ran in to the orchard and circled around behind hail. She new how to walk quietly when she wanted to. She stopped behind a tree near where Hail hid. She looked at where he stood and debated her best course of action she looked up in to the tree maybe I could climb up there she thought but the tree was so laden in snow that Hail would notice before she got into position. then she had an idea.
Vatra took of her scarf and jumped forwards throwing cation to the wind. She threw her scarf over the branch and began to pull hard on it jumping up and down shaking the branch so that the snow would all dislodge itself onto Hail's head.
OOC: Vatra used to be a very talented fighter she Knows how to sneak up on someone.
When Vatra threw the snow ball at Zanga, and it hit him in the chest, he knew what he had begun.
He rolled his sleeves up. So it's war.
He then bent down, and made another snowball, but the squirrelmaid was gone, sneaking up on the fox Hail.
Zanga threw the snowball at Arya, before making two more, and sneaking up behind the squirrelmaid. He threw them at her with all his might.
Yatar laughed as the original snowball Zanga had flung exploded on Ervoyce's ear. Still sniggering, he crept over to Hail's hiding place.
"Haha, using tactical intelligence eh?" he said, nodding in mock sincerity. "Lemme help matey."
He began compacting snow with his hands, making large snowball when he sat bolt upright. There was something he sensed...
"Aaaagh!" he yelled as he disappeared under a sizeable amount of snow, which had just fallen from the tree that was directly above them.
Vatra felt a snowball explode on the back of her cloak. She let go of one end of her scarf and pulling it down she tuned around to see Zanga she giggled and made another sizable snowball packing it in hard she threw it not at Zanga but at the branch above his head.
"Thank ye." responded Hail. He grabbed another one of his snowballs, and just managed to toss it towards Arya, then he heard the branch above him and Yater shaking, and felt the first few flakes of snow fall on his head. He looked up just in time to get hit in the face by the pile of snow, and vanished under it. He quickly dug himself out, and looked for the creature who had done that.
OOC: Just to say, Arya is the only one who knows Zanga personally. Now on with the snowball fight!
BIC: Zanga laughed, the squirrelmaid's aim must be off, she had missed him completely. Then the snow fell on top of him.
He spluttered, and shook himself, before making another snowball, and throwing it at the squirrelmaid, and then running at her, and leapt into the air. Hoping to tackle her into a snow drift.
Varta laughed as the snow fell on Zangas head. Her eyes grew wide with surprise as he charged at her. She swung her self up on to the tree branch which was now free of snow and leaped down on top of Zanga.
Zanga saw the squirrelmaid jump into the tree, she landed on top of him. He jumped into the snow drift anyway, and rolled over, and held her in the drift.
Zu sighed in exasperation as he watched the scene unfold "What children these abbey beasts are to be sure" he turned to face his apprentice "what say you Kogane?" he was hit in the face by a snowball. He wiped snow from his eyes to see Kogane running off in a fit of laughter. Scooping snow of the ground, he chased after his apprentice "Get back here you young rip!"
Zanga was hit by a stray snowball, he then jumped up, and began to throw snowballs at everyone who showed their face.
He then decided something, and ran off to find a good spot to build a snow-fort.
OOC: I just tried to jump on your head you can't ignore that...
Ervoyce was, to say the least, amused with the antics of the other beasts. But what really set him laughing was when Kogane dared to pelt his master with a snowball. Now THAT was funny! The squirrel was laughing so hard he almost fell over. He decided to assist the Sensei in his quest to assault the miscreant by packing a hard snowball. He was well attuned to throwing things, and was deadly accurate. He waited to see what type of pattern was being pursued by the runner. He smiled, "gotcha now naughty little beast!" He side-armed the snowball so that it would appear to be way off target if Kogane had the presence of mind to peak behind him every so often, but the snowball would curve hard. It was a blur anyway, so he probably wouldn't see it coming.

BIC: Zanga had found a good spot to build his snow fort. In between a big ash tree, and the Abbey wall. Yes, it would do.
He began collecting some sticks that would form the back of the fort. Then he began pushing snow towards his chosen spot.
Zanga noticed some kids running out of the Abbey to join in the snowball fight. Well the more the merrier.

BIC: Vatra jumped up and ran after Zanga. He was building a fort... Next to a tree... a grin slowly spread across her face. She looked at the tree trying to figure out the best way to sneak up on it with out Zanga seeing. her eyes were drawn to the top of the tree and a light bulb went off. She turned around and ran back inside the abbey building.
Zanga was almost finished building his snow-fort. It was really spacious inside. He could sit up, and not go through the ceiling. Now that, the fort was finished, Zanga began to make snowballs. He lined them up next to the entrance, ready to grab, and fire.
OOC: There is a ceiling? how can you throw snowballs with a ceiling?
Kogane looked back and jumped to the side narrowly avoiding Ervoyce's snowball but unwittingly jumping into the path of Zu's. Kogane clasped a hand to his head, there was definitely ice in that "Sensei! Sono yukidaruma wa, sono naka ni kori o motte ita!"
"Tabun kore wa, anata ga shorai-teki ni anata no meue no yukidama o nagete kangaenaosu tame ni o oshie shimasu"
"Chansu wanai!" Kogane lobbed a tightly packed snowball at his sensei. The snowball hit Zu in the eye and he swore in Hakaanese. Rubbing his eye, he looked at his apprentice "Your for it now young one!"
Kogane unbuckled his armour revealing a loose-fitting red tunic underneath, he took up a fighting stance and grinned "Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough"
Zu smiled as he unbuckled his own armour "What strange sayings these westerners have, eh Kogane?" He launched a kick at his apprentice. Zu was fast as lightning but Kogane was faster, he leaped over the kick and landed a hard punch on his sensei's jaw. As he was pulling his arm away, Zu caught him by the wrist with one hand and threw his own punch with the other. The blow was hard and it sent Kogane to the floor but almost immediately the marten was on his feet again, dancing from foot to foot as he took up a boxing stance.

BIC: Arya shrieked "Zanga!!" When other snowballs hit her in in the eyes, she fell to the ground, unable to see. Then she heard some laughing!! The nerve! She thought. pawing the snow out of her eyes, she fell somebeast stepping on her. that did it! she made one of her specials snowballs and threw it toward a Brother, since he seemed to be the one to stomp on her. (Her Special snowballs are huge, very easy to throw, and deadly in a unavoidable way)
Vatra came to the window right by the tree and looked down. Zanga had built a roof that was not part of her plan. she climbed out on to the branch anyway and climbed down the tree she jumped nimbly from the last branch landing behind the fort. She then took a stick and began to drill a peephole in the back wall.
Ervoyce approached Vatra, "'Scuse me miss, but might I show you a little thing about snow roofs?" He smiled, then drew and swung his sword length wise across the top, cutting almost the entire ceiling and making it crumble into the center.
((Kogane is ages away from Arya))
"Hey! I knew that I was trying to avoid ruining it! It is a lot easier to destroy something than it is to make it!" Vatra said angrily. in fact she was furious He had no right to intervene. She gave him a shove.

BIC: Arya saw a squirrel and the handsome one fighting on...Was that a fort? She went over, ducking some snowballs. She balled up some snow into another special one and flung it at the squirrel she didn't know.
Vatra got a snow ball square in the face and she took a step backwards and tripped falling into the now roofless fort. She sat up spluttering and mad! she pawed the snow from her face.
Arya flung another snow ball towards Ervoyce. Only AFTER she threw it she looked down and One: She'd accidently put a bit of ice in it her snowball, and Two: The ice had torn her paw. Regardless of her paw, she started screaming "Duck!! DUCK!! DUUUUUCK!!!!"
Ervoyce was surprised by his counterparts sudden aggression. He jerked in the same direction as the shove and rolled to a silent landing position, he heard the whistle of an incoming snowball and spun his sword around to turn it to powder, angering the would be avenger was not a good idea right now, "Whoa, calm down, 'tis all in good fun, and part of strategizing. It is snow after all." He sheathed the drawn blade, worried that his focus on other things might lead to somebeast being injured by the sharp object.
after Vatra had managed to paw the snow from her eyes in time to see Arya throw a snow ball at Ervoyce. There was a lot of yelling and talking but she was to mad to really make out anything that was said. She picked her self up and, not bothering to brush the snow from her cloths, marched over to Arya.
"What was that for!?!"
Zanga was very much upset that somebeast had cut the top of his snow fort off. It had fallen on top of him, soaking him. He had jumped up out of the snow, still holding two snowballs he had been preparing to throw. He was about to throw them at the two squirrels, when the squirrelmaid was hit in the face, and the other one was rolling away. He noticed Arya, and wondered what her part was in this. Anyway he threw the snowballs at Arya, and then dived at the squirrel who had just stopped rolling.
Arya opened her mouth to speak and got hit with two snowballs in the mouth. "GLUGG!! BLECH! I'm sorry, but I thought this was a snowball fight?" She said after getting the snow out of her mouth. Then, with a mischievous smile, she bent down and made a snowball and flung it at Vatra.
"You... You... You little! Ill..." Vatra said diving at Arya.
Zanga who had dived at the other squirrel watched the fight between the two female squirrels start, just before he hit something, or was it someone?
"Well, if it's a fight you want..." Arya said, side stepping smartly and waiting.
Vatra fell face first in to the snow. She got up from the snow and let out a deep growl. Her eyes blazing she pounced on Arya trying to tackle her to the ground.
OOC: Vatra used to be a good warrior so she knows what she is doing when it comes to fighting.
OOC: Arya's not the best with paw-to-paw. I'll see what she can do!!
BIC: Arya toppled, went limp, and pushed up. She hoped it would do the trick. She really didn't see what the fuss was about, why get upset over a snowball?
Ervoyce twirl-stepped the dive, keeping a pensive eye on the rapidly intensifying face-off... They had gone way too far! He dashed in-between them and held a fist at arms length towards both of them, "Hey! Break it up! This is supposed to be an interlude of happiness in a time of impending danger! Don't spoil it with childish behavior!" He looked sternly at both of them, "And neither of you say anything, it would only be worse if pettiness was added to this predicament."
Vatra blinked She was breathing hard and her eyes had returned to normal. She looked at the ground and then turned and ran away. What had she done! This is why she would never belong. Why she could never let down her guard for even a moment. perhaps if she had not participated in the snowball fight this would never have happened
She ran in to the orchard and found her self a secluded place among some bushes where the snow had not reached. The thing was was that she has been enjoying it so much. It had felt good to use her fighting skills again and it had been harmless till she had gone out of control. What if she hadn't been stopped what then...
Arya nodded courteously at Ervoyce and asked "Why did she get so fired up? I mean, it was just a snowball!" Then she looked down and realized she was still bleeding from that bit of ice that was in that snowball. "Um, I accidentally put a bit of ice in that snowball I threw at you...I'm sorry."
Ervoyce was a bit distracted, he had seen Vatra upset before, but this was the worst, she seemed to have trouble channeling her anger. The squirrel heard Arya talking to him, "Don't mention it, a little ice never hurt anybeast...." He thought for a moment, "Well, except for that one weasel, had to impale him with an icicle to keep him away from some church mice."
Hail, who had started digging around the pile of snow for Yater, who still hadn't surfaced, watched curiously as Vatra fled from the "Battle Field." He wondered why she had seemed so distressed after the fight.
Zanga had landed face first in the snow, he had rolled over, and watched what happened next. He only knew Arya, but at least he now knew at least one of the squirrel's names.
Vatra. She has bloodwrath, it's been a long time since a saw a beast that fired up over nothing. Yeah she has bloodwrath alright.
"Really? Well, there was one time when I had to threaten a beast with one of my special snowballs. He didn't listen. Needless to say, the family of field mice were QUITE happy to get rid the bully!" Arya said, then laughed. Then she started digging around in her pack for that herb mixture she carried everywhere. Then she said something that would have earned her a slap when she realized the bag was empty!
Zanga jumped up, "Arya I don't think the creatures at this place will forgive that kind language." He was teasing, but he was sure they wouldn't.
"Oops...Did I really say that?" Arya said, scooping up snow. It was better than nothing, after all.
Zanga, who thought Arya was making a snowball, quickly scooped up some snow, and threw it at her.
Arya ducked, mashed her snow into a ball, and threw it back at him! She laughed, again throwing a snowball at Ervoyce, making sure threre was no ice in THIS one! She even threw another snowball at a Brother crossing the grounds.
What if next time she wasn't stopped? the thought swirled around and around in her head no mater what she always came back to that point. She was a danger to her friends and she couldn't have that. She got up and went over to the side wall gate unlatching it she slipped out closing it behind herself she ran off on to the woods. She couldn't say here any longer
Arya escaped to the Orchard for a breather and noticed the squirrel who had attacked her unlock a wallgate and slip out. Well, that's dumb! Doesn't she know there's a horde out there? Not to mention rude, not saying good-bye to mice of the Abbey!Arya thought, quitly following her.

Abbess Russina walked out into the Grounds and got hit in the face by a snowball!! She mock-roared at the Dibbun responsible, "You little rogue! I'll carch you and hand you over to the Friar to make Dibbun Soup!" She chased after the Dibbun, throwing a snowball at him.
OOC: I left out the wall gate by the orchard there is no way you could have seen me leave.
OOC: I'll go fix! Sorry, I tend overlook those things occasionally!
Vatra ran through Mossflower woods trying to put as much distance between herself and the abbey.
Ervoyce slanted his body enough to only allow the snowball to graze his cheek. Arya had left by the time he looked back, "That was quick." He vacated the vicinity and leaned against one of the walls on the outer perimeter of the abbey grounds. The squirrel rested his head on the walls, but was suddenly distracted by a sound running the length of the wall, he went to the top of the wall to see Arya pursuing the rather mysterious Vatra. This was a predicament, Vatra had a sizable lead already, and the horde could arrive at anytime! Ervoyce smacked himself in the forehead. The horde could be here any minute, and there were beasts running outside the walls, he felt it his responsibility to get them back, he had no idea why Vatra would run, but he was determined to find out. He jumped onto the ramparts and launched himself to the nearest tree. Taking advantage of this momentum, he gave chase. Branching in these trees was rather cold though, so once he reached Arya he dropped in on her and asked quietly, "What's going on? Why's Vatra running off?"
Hail, who had watched Ervoyce with interest, had watched as he left the abbey, leaping off of the walls. Clearly the squirrel didn't realize how dangerous Grund's horde could be, and was trying to do some spying. Making sure no one was watching, lest they think Hail was trying to pass on information to his brother, he slipped to the nearest wall gate, and started wandering around the woods, looking for Ervoyce.
After a while, Yatar finally surfaced. The ground-hog was unrecognizable, covered in the frozen water. He sighed as he rolled out of the enormous drift that had formed from the snow from the tree. Realizing everybeast had moved on, he jogged to the wall, and climbed up the wall steps to see where they were.
Oddly, he couldn't see any creatures. Ah wait, what was that? Definitely somebeast... his traveling partner, Hail. Mysteriously, the fox was heading out into Mossflower. Well, that was rather odd. He shrugged. Maybe Hail needed some alone-time to prepare for the oncoming battle.
Zanga was a little confused. Where was everyone going?
They'd all taken off as one, Ervoyce had gone up onto the walls, and not returned. Then that funny looking creature, who had been traveling with the fox went up onto the walls.
Zanga signed, he felt a little foolish now. Yes, he had started an all out snowball fight, but it seemed he had also wasted time. There was a horde on it's way. And he had started a snowball fight! When they should have been getting ready for an attack.
Zanga kicked a pile of snow. Arya had disappeared as well, now he was on his own, not knowing anyone. Now what?

OOC: Blaggut, I'm planning on giving the Horde characters a little action, and so is Faiyloe. We're sorta discussing it on the signup. Faiy plans on having Vatra run into the Horde, and so am I.
"I really don't know, Ervoyce. I went to the Orchard for a breather and to put snow on my paw, and I noticed her leaving, so I went to bring her back and maybe apologize, for whatever it was I did." Arya looked Ervoyce in the eye, so he wouldn't think she was lying, and started thinking some rather embarrassing thoughts.
Ervoyce stared into the ground, his eyes burrowing straight to the core as he thought pensively, "We can't afford to have anybeast out and about, especially not somebeast who was designated as a leader. You need to go back and start getting in touch with Zu, I'll see what I can do about Vatra. If apologies need to be exchanged, it can be done later." The dark squirrel turned while rubbing his hands together to get a little warmth before launching back into the freezing branches to try and catch up with Vatra. It would probably be best if he came up quietly and dropped in front of her, she was still away's away though.
Zanga had grown bored of just standing, he'd grown cold too.
He walked through the snow back to the Abbey. On the way he was almost taken out by some little creatures who were playing in the snow.
When he got into the Abbey, he found himself drawn to the Tapestry again.
Oh, it's just wonderful!!
After Vatra had gone a little ways she slowed to a fast trot. The Abby was better off with out her she thought. She would go somewhere where she couldn't hurt any one.
Zanga began to walk closer to the Tapestry, closer, closer.
His breathing became faster, heavier.
Closer, closer.
He could feel something, it was pulling at his mind.
Closer, closer.
Things began to blur, and disappear, replaced by mist.
Closer, closer.
Everything had gone, Zanga could someone in the distance.

He saw something in front of him, but then it was above him. He began to climb.
Closer, closer.
He reached out, grabbed the thing. It was a sword! It flashed like the sun, Zanga was almost blinded. He lost his grip, and fell!
Falling, falling, bump!
Zanga sat up groaning. What happened?
He looked around him, the sword! The sword he had seen earlier above the Tapestry, was laying next to him! "What the!?!"
Zanga couldn't understand what had happened!
Arya was stunned, "Wait, I'm one of the leaders?!?!?? Well, I'll go back and see what needs to be done. Travel safely." Arya called over her shoulder, running up a tree.

OOC: Cornflower, you've kind of taken over Russina. If you'd like, I can make an App, and make her one of your characters. I'm making an exception to the "No new characters" rule, as Russina has been around for awhile, and isn't really new.

Vatra looked behind her at the trail of foot prints she had left behind her she had been walking at a fast jog for the past ten minutes now and she was a good distance from the abbey. She pressed on but now at a slow walk. She was not sure where she would go she she didn't even have any food. She realized that that might have been a bad idea but she was not going back.
As Hail wandered the forest, he came across the tracks of a squirrel. He looked up and saw that the tracks in the snow led straight towards where Grund's Horde was coming from! Hail drew his twin rapiers from his belt, and started following the footprints.

Brokentooth saw the forest. He recognized it to be Mossflower woods, where Redwall Abbey was located. Smiling, he walked to where Grund was "Sir," said the Ermine. "I've spotted Mossflower. Would you like me to scout ahead for any creatures we could use as hostages.

Now, in times of danger (Such as now) He picks someone to be the Abbey Warrior and take up his sword and defend our peaceful order. Short version."

Arya raced through the tree tops, thinking about what Ervoyce said. I'm one of the Leaders for the Attack?!?? When she saw the Abbey walls close by, she went down the trunk of the tree she was in, and went through the wallgate that nobody bothered to lock. Then she went to find Zanga. She had quite the surprise when she found him. "Zanga?"
Zanga was stunned, "But, I...I...I don't know anything 'bout being a leader!"
He then heard his name, and turned round to see Arya, without noticing he was actually holding the sword. "Arya!" Was all he could say.
"What's going on? Why are you holding the Sword of Martin?"
"I don't know!" Zanga whined.
"Well, for better or worse, you're one of the leaders! Um, am I one of them? Ervoyce said something along those lines...."
"What! I didn't tell you anything! And I can't be a leader. I don't know how!!"
Abbess Russina commented dryly, "Well if you don't quit whining, then you AREN'T going to one of them, whether or not Martin picked yopu. And yes, Arya, you are one of the leaders. The other is Zhu."
Karataka stared at the fringe of Mossflower, sighing a plume of steam in satisfaction. So, this was Mossflower? He could see normally the trees would be much thicker in summer, with their lush leaves. The wolverine sighed again. He would very much like to live in a land such as this, rather then the freezing wastes from which he had come from. Yes, he could see himself somewhere like here.

Yatar continued to stand wallguard, watching out for any sign of foebeast. He wondered where his friend Hail had got to. Well, that fox could look after himself.
Arya replied, "Oh, well...I guess I'll go find Zhu, then....Good luck, Zanga!"
OOC: Where is Zhu? And where has Jet been?
Vatra continued on threw the snow she was beginning to get tiered she had been alternated between running and walking but now she slowed to a plod. She could smell smoke on the crisp thin air meaning that there was a camp fire near by. Then she remembered about the horde. She decided to proceed with caution. She realized that she had no weapon on here person. She reached over her head and grabbed hold of a branch placing all her wait on it she puled till it snapped off this a resounding *Crack* She winced at the sound as it broke the silence. The end had come off in along sharp point and she proceeded to snap of the extra branches making a javelin of sorts.
Ervoyce had paused momentarily to warm his frozen paws, he checked up on Vatra when he heard the resounding crack. He realized what she was making, and that didn't bode well, he couldn't let her go through with this! He flew through the trees as fast as he could go, trying hard to catch up before she pulled off anything stupid, "Don't do it Vatra!"
OOC: Not a whole lot will be able to happen at Redwall or the Horde until Jett and Blaggut respond.
Vatra spun around "You!... You fallowed me and I'm not going to do any thing stupid!"

Vatra started cautiously towards the smoke. The squirrels dark colored fur stood out pain fully against the white. She pulled up the hood of her lighter colored cloak and wrapped her scarf around her face so only her eyes where showing. If she was going to sneak up on them now she would have a better chance of not being spotted.
Hail, who had finally caught up, saw Vatra heading for the Horde, and panicked. He ran at Vatra, both his swords drawn, and shouted "Stop!"
Vatra spun around javelin up raised ready to strike but when she saw it was Hail she stayed her paw. "What are you doing here" she said in a harsh tone ripping the scarf away from her mouth.
Karataka spun around, eyeing the two beasts who stood a little way off.
"Guards!" he roared.
Without waiting for the other vermin, the wolverine hefted his own weapon, the giant double-bladed battle axe, and started lumbering toward Hail and Vatra. He wanted to be the one to capture the artic fox.
Ervoyce watched as his fears played out before him just as he'd imagined, "Hail you imbecile! Why'd you shout!?" There was no time to vocalize any of these secondary thoughts at the moment, but he did shout rather loudly something rather important, "RUN!" The vermin where already moving, and the faster ones would probably catch up to the two beasts on the ground, so the squirrel stayed hidden in the trees in wait for the first couple of beasts that dared to make a move on the woodlanders. His hands calmed upon touching the steel blades of his knives, first beast to make it within a dangerous distance of his comrades would soon find himself with a blade in his neck.
"Not you too!" Vatra said looking up to where the voice had come from "I had every thing under control till you two came along! I can handle myself!" She Then tuned and ran up a tree.
Arya wandered out to Orchard looking for Zhu. She was pretty sure he was one of the ones dueling Ervoyce earlier.
Brokentooth heard Kartaka's shout, and without waiting for Grund's reply, he bolted out of the tent. Sprinting to the front of the horde, he recognized Hail Quickblade with his sharp eyesight. Smiling, he aimed his bow, and fired. He watch as the arrow sailed through sky, and then shouted to Kartaka. "Don't kill Quickblade, we'll leave that for Grund. Promotions fer us both."

Hail stood shock still for a moment, staring as the Wolverine rushed towards him, followed by a large number of Vermin. He turned and started to run, but before he made it more then a few feet, a he felt a sharp pain in his lower leg. He stumbled, then hit the ground, rolling for a few feet, snow flying into the air behind him. He looked at his leg, seeing the arrow buried deep into his leg. This may be a problem in making my escape he thought. Looking back towards the Horde, he saw how close Kartaka was. Hail dropped his swords, and went limp, his unconscious body blending in with the snow, which was slightly bloodstained.
Vatra saw hail fall. She turned and leaped threw the trees towards the vermin. If they wanted Hail they would have to get threw her first. Anger began to well up in side of her And she began to move faster then leaping from the brance she flung her self at the wolverines head eyes blazing.
Karataka looked at Brokentooth. Ha, I don't need promotion, soon I'll be running this horde like it's my own, he thought. But he didn't say anything. It was a pity Grund wanted Hail for himself, he had been looking forward to ripping the artic fox's head off.
He watched Brokentooth fire off an arrow. It seemed to hit Hail, but he could not be sure because of all the snow in the air. To the wolverine's surprise a squirrel he had never set eyes on was flying through the air towards him. Shock turned to confidence, however, and he dodged, although unsuccessfully missing her with his axe. The momentum sent him stumbling, and by the time he rose again other vermin were overtaking him on the race to capture Hail.
Vatra expecting a move like this grabbed hold of his cloak and puled her self around so she was on his back and then attempted to bring her "javelin" around in front of his neck to strangle him.
OOC: Sorry if that is PPing if you don't like it I can change it It was just so hard to not in such a close combat situation. Also Vatra has pumped her self up in to such a rage that she might hurt your character (Cant remember his name) Dan if he gets near her.
Jantar had heard all the commotion, and hurried to find out what has happening. When she heard the name Hail, she grinned cruelly. So we have our bird in its cage at last!

Zanga suddenly felt a buzz of confidence surge through him. He held the sword has if it were part of him. "I..I..I will be your champion, for now anyway."
OOC: He's a wolverine which subjects him to such things as you stated, he's got no right to complain if he's going to play one of the two tanks in the series. BIC:
Ervoyce rolled his eyes, "And then he stands there to get shot, of course." he leaped down from the tree and place himself between the vermin that were charging and Hail, "Who's ready to taste frozen steel vermin!" The squirrel impaled the front two runners and charged, he had come to get Vatra, not Hail, and he would do so if it was the last thing he did! He ducked under the first blade and swept the adversaries legs with his own sword, rendering him useless, the second attack was a spear thrust which he parried before accelerating suddenly. Ervoyce broke through the blob of vermin and faced the wolverine and Vatra, e had to make this quick, "Vatra! We can slay the wolverine later! We need to get Hail back to the abbey but I can't do it alone! Are you just going to sit there as your comrade dies! Is that why you ran! Because you're two chicken to assist those that mattered to you!" He decided to go with the, "make the bloodwrathed creature angrier and get them to follow you so that they rip the beasts that try to follow you into shreds while you carry off the injured beast," tactic.... A little dangerous, but fairly effective.
Jantar stamped her foot. No, No, No! These squirrel's will not stop us!
She took out her blow pie, and loaded it with a poisoned dart. She aimed, and fired, she was a good shot, but a wind had picked up. She just hoped she would get one of them.
"Vatra! We can slay the wolverine later! We need to get Hail back to the abbey but I can't do it alone! Are you just going to sit there as your comrade dies! Is that why you ran! Because you're two chicken to assist those that mattered to you!" He decided to go with the, "
Ervoyce's plan worked. Vatra let off attacking the wolverine and leaped after him slaying two vermin as she went.
Jantar saw her change, one of the squirrel's was in the air, she loaded, aimed, and fired in moments, she was sure she wouldn't miss. Her first dart had hit one of the horde, and he had fallen down dead. The poison she used was a mixture of many snake venoms, hemlock, wolfbane, and many others that she could not remember the names of.
Vatras cloak billowed out behind her as she jumped obscuring her figure. The dart ripped threw her cloak tearing a hole in it and landing in the snow to be tread on by one of the vermin who promptly died. Every thing was a haze of red Vatra ducked weaved dodged and thrust killing the whole way. A deadly killing machine and she was headed for Ervoyce.
OOC: I'm not missing just my characters are sparring somewhere in the abbey grounds, not the orchard though

BIC: Not finding Zhui in the Orchards, Arya decided to try the Lawns. Ahah! There he has, sparring. She sighed, "Does he ever quit fighting? She stepped in, holding up her dagger so that the blades would clash against it, or take off her paw. "Um, is one of you Zhu? I need to talk to him about the defenses."
Hail woke up, the pain in his leg not subsided. It clouded his mind, stopping him from thinking straight. He could see Vatra and Ervoyce fighting the vermin, but rather then call for them, he crawled into a denser part of the forest. Slumping against a tree, he closed his eyes. Then opened them a moment later to see a cruel figure, who Hail recognized instantly standing over him.

Brokentooth, like many sharpshooters, had fled the scene when his enemies got to close for comfort. Deciding to sneak into a deeper part of the forest, and come up behind him, he bolted into the trees. After a few minutes, he came across a silvery figure lying against a tree. "Well," he said. "Look who we have here." He bent down, pulling a rope out of his belt, and bound Hail. Then, dragging him via the rope, he left the forest, successfully reaching the camp. He took Hail, and pulled him to Grund's Tent. Smiling as he entered he said "Sir. I 'ave a present fer yew."
Vatra ran after Ervoyce he was the only thing she could see clearly the white snow and the half dead trees all blurred together in a crimson haze. She didn't know how many vermin she killed. She just knew that She had to get to Ervoyce.
OOC: Okay, are you trying to get yourself captured? Because this is just ridiculous. :( I don't know about anyone else, but if you plan on having Hail used as a hostage against Redwall, I'm not going to care, I tried hard enough to get you out so if hail dies that's on your head. BIC:
It was working, but Hail was gone. There was nothing he could do about that now, Ervoyce turned and backed his way through the dancing blades yet again while shouting at Vatra once again, "Hey slowpoke! You gonna help me or not!" He took off, hoping to draw her charge straight through the vermin mass and into the woods where he could lead her in circles until she calmed down.
Vatra let out an enraged growl and charged after him braking out of the main group of vermin. Her cheek was bleeding and she had a nasty cut on her left forearm but she hardly noticed.
Edit: OOC: What he did is not half so bad as what you are doing! Getting Vatra angry at you is like... *Tries to think of an example but can't* Lest just say it is very dangerous.
Jantar had seen Brokentooth come back with Hail. She hurried after him. She wanted to be there when Grund decided what to do with him!
Ervoyce breathed a sigh of relief, Vatra was out of the crowd, the vermin would never catch them in the forest. He found a tree that would serve as a start for a branching run, and surged into the branches. Constantly checking to make sure he didn't lose Vatra, he started them on their way back to Redwall.
Vatra quickly fallowed quickly leaving the vermin behind as she darted threw the trees after Ervoyce. After a few minutes of this without any combat she began to see more clearly and feel the cut in her arm. her anger subsided and she realized what she was doing. She missed her footing a fell from the tree in to a snow bank. She didn't care she just curled up in a ball and started Sobbing. Why did he have to come after her... why. Now Hail was missing probably captured and she had almost killed Ervoyce. It had felt so liberating being alone in the forest not having to worry whether or not you would turn on your friends in a fit of rage. Then he cam back and I almost killed him. I almost killed him...

Ervoyce had noticed Vatra's calming, and hooked back around when she fell. He let her be by herself for a moment before quietly approaching from behind. Upon reaching his comrade he gently laid a hand on her shoulder, then knealed in front of her, "You know, I was always confused around you, but I think I'm starting to understand.... You blame yourself for everything don't you?" He stared deep into her eyes and continued, "Vatra, everybeast has their limits, you're not immortal, you're finite just like the rest of us. I used to think that I had to be perfect too, it was a miserable life. You know what freed me from that? The Redwallers, they taught me to accept mistakes and that's when I changed. You need to change too, you can't solve everything, and running from the problem isn't going to make it better. Knowing you, I don't think that you want to hurt your friends, and you've convinced yourself that leaving is the best way to do that. Do you even realize that leaving them is going to hurt even more? Your help is needed, you're a fighter, don't bail on those who care about you most when they need your help." His expression softened as he stood up, "I know what it's like to be angry at yourself and others, obviously I can't compare with what you have to deal with, but let not only myself, but everybeast else help." He held out a hand to the demoralized beast before him and gave her a reassuring grin, "So what do you say? Are you done running?"
Vatra sniffed and rubbed a tear from her eye with the back of her paw. She looked up into Ervoyce's eyes. "You don't think I'm a monster?" She said in a wavering voice. She sat up taking his paw. With a small wavering smile on her face. There was a moment of silence then she said her voice stronger this time "I'll come back with you,"
Ervoyce breathed a sigh of relief as he assisted Vatra in standing up, "There are few beasts that I would ever count a monster, and you're no where near any of them, you try to help others to the extent that you were willing to leave behind such a wonderful place as Redwall, that takes something that no beast has." He smiled and nodded, "I'm sure everyone else will be pleased that you've returned."
"Thank you," Vatra said getting up "I have always admired how calm and level headed you can be," She bent to pick up her "javelin" and the pain of her wounds caught up with her. She examined a nasty wound on her left arm and winced. Salt tiears mingled with the blood on her cheek casing the cut to sting and her cloak was ripped in several places some from running threw the trees and others from the battle. Her scarf had come mostly undone and now hung in an overly loss lopsided manner. "I am a mess," She said looking down at her self.
Ervoyce picked a few rolled up dockleaves from his belt and passed them to Vatra, "Never hurts to carry a couple a' these, come in handy at the oddest of times." He waited a moment, listening intently trying to discern the whereabouts of the foe, "We'd best be on our way, no time to waste, you ready? Your wounds can be looked after better at Redwall anyway."
"Thanks," Vatra said ripping a strip from the end of her cloak and using it to tie the dock leaves over the wound and then started off in to the woods. she stopped and then said "Wait I have no idea where we are... We probably shouldn't go directly back to Redwall anyway. We will lead the vermin right to it!"
Zanga had decided that just standing around wasn't going to help much. He needed to do something, anything!
Arya is sort of in charge of defences, I can ask her what she wants me to do.
Ervoyce grinned, "maybe if they could've kept up with us. Come on, it's this way." The squirrel headed off in a direction just slightly off of where Vatra was going, "I've walked these woods so many times I've considered giving the trees names."
"Well then I'm glad you'r here," Vatra said smiling for the first time in a long time and turning to fallow him.
OOC: *facepalm* I can't believe I missed a snowball fight! *shakes fist* Stupid testing! Fine. Well, now that I've escaped, relatively unscathed- *twitch*- Ahem. Like I said, relatively unscathed, I can devote more time to actually having fun. Sorry I have to ask again, but it would be super helpful if someone could please let me know the important bits of what's been going on? The last thing I know of was the snowball fight.
OOC: Vatra ran off for reasons, (so descriptive :P) Arya, Hail, and Myself chased her down (well, Arya was starting to, but she turned around) Hail got captured because he just sat and watched as an archer shot him, Vatra was going fisticuffs with a wolverine (and winning I might add) I got her to leave and we escaped.
OOC: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! I got a reply all typed up and then Dan posted... :'( so I will post this really long thing any way...
OK. So after the snowball fight Vatra attacked Arya and then getting upset she ran off in to Mossflower woods Ervoyce, Hail and Arya fallow but Ervoyce convinces Arya to go back where she finds Zanga who had just seen a vision appointing him abbey hero. Then the Arya went to find Zu. Then Vatra finds the vermin camp she makes herself a weppon and prepares to get a closer look when hail comes runing yelling for her to stop this attracts the vermin's attention. Hail got shot Vatra went in to the Bloodwrath and attacked the vermin. then Hail got captured and Ervoyce got Vatra mad at him and she chased him in to the woods. He lead he away from the vermin. After Vatra snaped out of it Ervoyce convinced her to go back to the abbey... so that is it... and as you probably have guessed already I do not know the meaning of summery... ;D

Me too, but there was a point that I really liked Barbies, it was years ago, and I usually made them fight like gladiators but what the heck. I now prefer, mud, knife, and a stick. I actually have a swish army knife, a stick, and my garden is
really muddy, so I'm happy. ;D

Bic: Grund called his seer to his tent. He needed to talk. To her about his prisoner. Waiting for her, he cruelly kicked the fox in the stomach, and then the crouch. "Traitor, your goin ta' die for dat! He then ordered his guards to take the prisoner to a nearby tent, out of earshot. The tent was heavily fortified by ten foxes
Vatra walked along side of Ervoyce. He actually understood her. She sighed and looked up at him. "I wasn't always like this," She said and then looked down at the ground. She never really talked about her past but Ervoyce made her feel comfortable. There was a long silence and then she continued slow at first but soon it became easier and the words started to flow from her releasing all the pain she had been keeping inside all this time. "His name was Alec... he... we... I loved him more than any thing in the world. We did every thing together. We were traveling to visit the abbey when we were attacked by a band of vermin some how Alec ended up fighting their leader he killed him but he was also stabbed in the process. I flew into rage the blood coursing hot threw my veins seeing red. It was both terrible and powerful... Not one vermin was left alive," She looked back at Ervoyce and continued quietly. "I had been badly injured and I passed out... the Abbey dwellers found me and healed me but they couldn't heal my hart."
In all his traveling years he had never really known anybeast long enough to truly know them, it was kind of strange, but not so bad as might have been supposed, "That's the funny thing about hearts, they take more than bandages and herbs to heal. Time and care are its' only medicine, and scars are almost inevitable." Ervoyce peeked over his shoulder, "Some of us have had it easier than others, some of us have never known such emotions as another would describe, but understanding another's plight is something that everybeast does have, because no matter where you're from, you're guaranteed to have lost something held dear to your own heart, at least in my experience that is." The squirrel was staring into space by now, "Then again, I myself have been so sporadic I'm not sure if I actually understand anything, life's a blur when you never stay anywhere for longer than a week." He turned again and said with a wry smile, "Maybe having to stay at Redwall for awhile will clear my vision."
Jantar who had been lingering in the corner of Grund's tent, chuckled cruelly as Hail was kicked. When she was called, she hurried over. "Yes, my lord?"
"I Used to travel a lot too but Alec was my constant he was always there no matter where we went... When this is all over maybe we could go our separate ways... together," Vatra said and looked up in to Ervoyce's eyes "I'm sure we could learn a lot from each other,"
Hail stumbled backwards when kicked. Then, before he could say a single thing to his brother, he was dragged off, and placed in an heavily guarded tent.

Brokentooth was standing awkwardly by the entrance to the tent. He wasn't completely sure if Grund wanted him here, or realized that it was he who had captured Quickblade. Several times he started stepping forward to tell Grund, but always stopped short, fearing the Fox.

BIC:Arya stared at Zhu. She wondered why he was taking so long to talk.

Zu shook his head "Until I know more about the abbey, its capabilities and features I will not be able to make any informed decisions regarding its defense. At present I can only suggest we train all the able-bodied beasts and mount a wallguard"
Grund said: B"rokentooth, you are dismissed. Make sure the fox is tied up, to." Then he said to his seer: "Should we attack now, and surprise them? They most likely no little and have few fortifications, and they will be surprised because they think we are planning." "Oh, and why don't we kill my brother in front of their petty sword-carrying softies, wives, and dibbuns?" he said cruelly, snarling. "I just sharpened my skinning knives..."
Jantar got her stones, feathers, bones, twigs, and all the other things that she needed, and knelt down. She then cast them on the floor, she had been thinking the whole thing through. Hail was not important, yes, he could be killed. And the Abbey wasn't defended at all yet, her spy had told her. "Make hast," She rasped in her "trance voice", "Attack today, killed thy brother by any means, and strake fear into the hearts of the woodlanders!"
OOC: If you have a spy, then you have to have that character acted out, you can't just so, "Oh I have a spy that you can't kill." That's both PPing and God-moding.
OOC: How to reintroduce a character... Ummm... Okay, I think I got it. Maybe. Sorry that this spans a lot of time; I do have an awful lot to make up.
BIC: After the meeting had ended, Dritsek had gone to her room to practice her swordsmanship- if she might be teaching others, it would be a good idea to brush up on her own skills. She was briefly disturbed by a snowball fight which she watched wistfully, wishing she could join in. ((OOC: Wow- try saying that five times fast!)) However, she soon put her mind firmly back on task, drilling endlessly until she could barely stand. Afterwards, she sank onto her bed, quite ready for a nap. It would do her much good.
When she woke, something felt different. Unsure of what it was, she decided to do a quick patrol of the walltops. Perhaps that would settle her mind a little- she might even be able to find out why her gut instinct was yowling that something was wrong.
OOC: Dan I am waiting for you to post.
"Alright. How should we do this? I refer to as the senior, since I certainly don't have much experience with this, but the Abbess' word is law." Arya replied, her mind starting to go into Strategy/Training mode
Ervocye grinned again, "Everybeast can learn something from every other, you just need to know where to look." The squirrel couldn't muster an answer to Vatra's first statement, the matters of the heart had always been one of his worst areas, it was a mysterious force that seemed to exceed all others to a degree of power that had broken all perceived limits. As a matter of fact, he didn't even know if he would leave after this.... The traveler was considering settling down.

Zanga had gone looking for Arya. He saw her, and hurried over. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
"Not sure yet, Zanga. Mainly right now we need ideas." Aryta replied, looking at Zhu.
Vatra smiled "Well then we both have our work cut out for us," She said She started running playfully "Race you back to the Abbey!"
Ervoyce half rolled his eyes, "Such strange beasts I have to deal with." When Vatra wasn't looking, he relieved himself of the black traveling gear. Now down to his white long sleeved tunic and trousers, he pulled the equally white hood over his head and dove into the snow, covering what fur was visible with the pure substance scattered about, "Oh no! I've been eaten!" He concealed a snigger, this trick had used to both grant beasts laughs, and save his life as he was now completely invisible against such a bright canvas.
"Then how are you still talking!" Vatra said laughing She tuned around to see his pack and cloak lying limp in the snow. She walked slowly toward it looking all around. "I Know you're there there is no use in hiding You can come out now!"
"Why don't you just fiiiiiiiiind meeeeeeee!" Ervoyce said this loud enough so that his voice would echo, not revealing his location. If she dared to turn around again he'd be able to change hiding spots to something more discreet.
Vatra spun around trying to locate the voice but to no avail
"Ok, ideas. Maybe we should ask some others, somebeast can surprise you with what they come up with." Zanga suggested hopefully.
Vatra took a few steps back and tripped over Ervoyce.
"Well, if you don't mind! Why don't we find each other later? We'll have had time to think and come up with some really good ideas."
As Vatra fell, Ervoyce stood and heaped all the snow that had previously been on him on top of his companion. He rushed to his traveling gear and took off for the Abbey, "Slowpoke! Stop playin' in the snow you asked for a race!" He smiled mischievously, "Last one there dives in the pond!"
OOC: ;D He's just kidding about the pond of course.
Vatra giggled she actually giggled and shook the snow from her dark fur. She jumped up and ran after him yelling "You may have had a head start but that wont stop me!" She used the trees and soon she had caught up with him. Vatra hadn't felt so happy in a long time she felt like she was flying and the crisp cold air sang as she leaped from branch to branch. She could see the abbey threw the trees and she gave an extra burst of speed she swung down on to a branch loaded with snow directly over Ervoyce's head she shook it hard as she swung down to the ground and kept running.
Zanga nodded, "Ok, I'll go see what I can come up with."
"Alright, I'll leave you to your dueling," Arya said, then nodded at Zhu and walked away.
OOC: In a squirrel race, it's kind of a given that they are going through the trees ::). BIC:
Ervoyce shifted over as the the snow fell, "That's rather unsportsman like conduct if ya ask me!" He said this with a sarcastically angry voice, "Didn't yer mum ever teach yeh any manners!?" As they neared the gate, he disappeared unexpectedly. The gate was closed, and it would take a moment to open, so he decided to use the harder but faster method, over the wall. The branches had been trimmed not too long ago so this would be a stretch even for him.
"And like what you did was any better!" She said. she ran up to the side gate.
As Vatra made the gate, Ervoyce leaped for the ramparts... He got the edge! He scrabbled to get over, jumped from the top of the wall to a pile of snow inside the Abbey grounds.
Vatra knocked on the gate.
Zanga, who was wandering the Abbey grounds. He was walking past a little wall gate, when he heard a knock. He walked up to it, "Er, who is it?"
OOC: Ervoyce should be right there Rachel.
OOC: Ervoyce is in a pile of snow. ;D
OOC: Oops, looks like Arya's right there, if ya don't mind, Dan! If you don't like it, I'll change it.
BIC: "AHH! Oh, Ervoyce? Your tail's sticking up." she said, then giggled. "You certainly gave me a fright!"
Yatar saw Vatra run up to the wallgate, and decided to open it for her. He heard a sound, and spun around to see Ervoyce jump from trees to rampart, and started walking toward him, but the squirrel was already landing in the snow below. Than he heard a knock. He quickly hopped off the edge, and landed in a rather large drift. As he headed towards the wallgate, he noticed an otter had got ahead of him, that same one who was in the meeting. The groundhog knocked the latch off, and opened the wallgate.
"Ahoy, were have you lot been? Know where Hail is?" he asked.
Vatras face fell "We...I..." She looked behind her for Ervoyce but didn't see him "I don't know..." She finally said and brushed past them.
Zanga glared at the groundhog, he wasn't to happy about him jumping in front of him. But he soon lost interest, and walked away.
Ervoyce climbed out of the snow, "Hail went and stood in front of an arrow, vermin probably have 'em, he wondered off into the forest while I went after Vatra." The squirrel shook his head, "He's got less chance of survival than a mole midst a storm on the sea in a dingy. And I hate o say it, but that's bein' optimistic."
Vatra looked at Ervoice How did he get in here? She thought but didn't say it she just turned and walked away quietly all the good feelings of freedom gone. She started to run slowly at first but faster and faster then she saw the pond and dove in. The freezing water slapped her in the face shocking her making her forget her problems. All she could hear or feel was the swirling water around her. Time seemed to slow it was almost peaceful if it wasn't so cold. Vatra began to run out of air and she tried to swim to the top but all of her cloths where dragging her down. Her paws went to the clasp of her cloak.
OOC: Please don't dive in after her she will be out before you could get there.
OOC: Alright, got it. Read my mind, did you? :D :D :D
BIC: "Well. Interesting report, Ervoyce. Now if you'll excuse me." Arya said, wondering whether his report had been to her or what. She sighed. He'll never notice me. In fact, I bet that since he knows What's-her-name, he already likes her. I think I'll go to my room, and have a little Me Time for awhile. That always cheers me up, and anyway, I've got to think of a plan. But first I'll go to the Kitchens, and grab a little comfort food. Oh, what a dreadful habit I've gotten! She sighed again. All the work! She had no experience, and she didn't really know what to do. Then she saw the tapestry. "Oh, hello, Martin. Have you ever had someone you kinda liked, but had the person not really notice you?" She asked, un aware the Abbess was right behind her. "Arya dear, if I may ask, it's Ervoyce, isn;'t it?"
Oh! Mother Abbess. I didn't see you there! You're right. I'm sure he already has someone, though."
"We shall see. Now, I've got to go, dear."
Zanga saw Vatra running away into the grounds. He thought about following her, but decided against it.
I don't know her. She probably wants some time alone anyway.
Arya went to the Kitchens and got her munchies. Then she went up to her room and started to draw, munching her way through her little pile.

Abbess Russina walked outside, puzzling over Arya and Ervoyce. Then she saw the other squirrelmaid go diving in the pond. She shrugged, tghere were over beasts closer than her if she got into trouble. Anyway, why go diving into deep water if you couldn't swim. She continued on her way, looking around. There was Ervoyce, with that beaver. She decided to go over to say hello. "Hello again, Ervoyce! Perhaps now you'd like to take a walk with me?"
Jantar sat waiting for Grund to give her an order.
Varta surfaced her cloak scarf and jacket missing. She instantly began to shiver as her wet fur met the cold air. She waded out of the water on to the snow covered bank and shook her self. She then bent over and picked up her Javelin. Which she had dropped before she dove in.
OOC: I have a question! Why did she jump in the pond?
OOC: A) Because she was mad and up set with herself and everything so she did some thing stupid. B) and a lot less so. She lost the race and Ervoyce said the last on there jumps in the pond.
OOC: So, she didn't know that he was joking.
OOC: She knew she was just mad and it looked like a good idea. Like I said before she has problems. the thing was that as soon as she got back to the abbey she felt trapped again. if she had been some where else I think she would have been fine but here she feels stifled.
OOC: Wow, that's bleak. :-\
OOC: Ya and she is only like this case her true love died and left her with a broken heart.Kind of like martin and Luke be a lot worse. :-\ Yes very sad (Why do I like making characters with extreme problems?)
OOC: I don't know! I COULD go into a great long speech, like my dad would do, but I'll save you the torture. ;)
Ervoyce was pensive, he was back to thinking about how to keep the Abbey safe, and the things he could do to help, "Well Abbess, if there isn't anything else to be done at the moment, than I guess it couldn't hurt. I may seem a bit distant at times though, a lot to think about."
"Oh, that's fine...." As she walked, the Abbess got a smile on her face. "Do you realize that a certain squirrel maid is sitting in her room, more than likely with a pile of food next to her, if I know Ar- Er, her, and is breaking her own heart because she thinks that you think that she doesn't exist? Really, young ones these days...When I was young, love was simple." Russina glanced at Ervoyce, to see his reaction.
Vatra started to run but this time to get out of the cold She entered the kitchen and sighed as the warmth from the ovens enveloped her. She took a deep breath and smelled all the food cooking.
"Oh!" The old mouse cook squeaked when she saw her "Oh My, Dear what happened?" She said Trowing her shawl over Vartas shoulders. Vatra nodded in thanks but was too cold to reply and pulled the shawl tighter around her it was warm from being around the ovens all day. She was given a stool and she sat down by the oven. The mouse wife gave her another blanket and she rubbed her self down. She was also given a loaf of freshly baked bread which she gratefully took and began to nibbel.
Arya felt for another bit of munchie. She sighed, her pile was gone. She decided to go down to the Kitchens to get more. When she entered, she saw Vatra, so she went over to apologize. "Look, I'm sorry about what happened earlier, in the snowball fight. I didn't mean to....You know. Will you accept my apology? I have afeeling we could be friends, if you want." She held out her paw, for Vatra to shake.
"Vatra looked and said "No it was my fault don't worry about it," She didn't take her paw but that was cause she didn't want to get unwrapped from her blanket. As she began to get warmer and feeling was coming back she began to feel the cut over her eye stinging.
"Alright. Um, do you want me to get something for that cut over your eye? I think it's starting tot bleed." Arya said, looking at her eye.
"I'm OK," Vatra said looking down at the ground.
"Alright, now I, uh, UI have some things to do, so I guess I'll just grab my food..." Arya said awkwardly. She grabbed her food and started tottering back towards the door, staggering under the weight of her food. "I really do hate this this habit. But it's the only thing that'll help" Without realizing she said that out loud.
Zu and Kogane meanwhile had finished their sparring match and were taking a leisurely stroll around the abbey grounds, leisurely for Zu that is, Kogane was shivering uncontrollably from the many times he had been thrown or otherwise immersed in snow. Zu had chuckled at his predicament initially "Next time don't challenge someone who is a senior to you in skill to a duel, you'll invariably end up regretting it" he had chided. Kogane scowled bad-naturedly at this.
Ervoyce couldn't help but grin slightly, "Oh really? I never saw myself as interesting, much less appealing." the squirrel stared into space, "If only there were time to think on these things, I find myself more and more consumed by the thoughts of impending danger, I know Martin has raised the needed help in such times, but I just don't see how such a peaceful group of woodlanders can be taught how, not only to fight, but to harden themselves against the emotion behind killing another beast. We can't have emotional break downs on the battle field."
Grund like his seers predictions. "Go now, seer." (Forgot the name :-\) He walked out. "You 10 foxes, carry and defend my brother, we are taking him to the Abby." He turned to the rest of the horde, who were now staring at him (shall we assume, say, 200?) "Get your weapons and dirty families, we march on the abbey now!" He had his army grouped around his tied up brother, who had recently been knocked unconscious. Escape was impossible."
Ooc: Is it not allowed to kill characters?
OOC: I will allow it, but it'll have to be by mutual agreement of the characters owner and who they are fighting.
Vatra finished the bread and moved from her seat on the stool to a stack of flower next to the oven she curled up and dosed off in the warmth of the kitchen. She was some where far away along time ago before any of this ever happened.
OOC: Except Han just kinda gave away his right to decide the live or die decision by getting captured, you're reign over your character has been significantly reduced because Blaggut now controls everything that surrounds your character.
Jantar (The seer) bowed, "Of course my lord."
She ten hurried out of the tent, and went to her tent, and began to pack her things. There wasn't much, but she'd have to get someone to help carry some of it.
Jantar went over to the door of her tent, "Aifa! Come, and help me carry my things!"
Aifa the vixenmaid hurried over, to help.
Russina shook her head. "Ervoyce. For one thing, you are probably more attractive to Arya than you realize...Oops. Well, she didn't ask me not to mention her name, or anything. Sorry. For another, we Redwallers may have our hearts a little more hardened than you realize. We've faced down quite a bit ever since this Abbey was built. Don't worry about emotional break-downs. That's my job anyway. Oh, Arya! Get your tail out of your window!" Abbess Russina said, glancing upwards. "That squirrel maid....She can get so scatterbrained.....What was I thinking?" She muttered to herself.
Zanga had gone inside the Abbey. Asking around about what the Redwallers could do, or plans to help defend the Abbey. He wrote everything down, before going on to the next beast.
Arya finished drawing a basic defense plan, and went to find Zanga and Zhu. "Oh, hi, Zanga! How are you coming along? I've drawn a few defense plans. Hopefully we don't need them, but you never know."
"Oh, hi Arya. I've got a few plans here. The Redwallers thought them up." Zanga handed his long list to Arya.
"Oh, really? Great! How about we meet with Zhu...Hmm, let's see...At the next meal for now? In the meantime, I guess you carry on with that, and I'll take a look at these, and do other stuff! Let's hope I don't have to dangle my tail out the window for ideas again!"
"You what?" Zanga was puzzled.
"Dangled my tail out the window. What? It works."
Suddenly Yatar's head popped up beside Zanga and Arya. "Dangle yer tail out a window? That's the daftest thing eveaaar..." he was giggling so much he nearly fell over backwards.
"Any way I can help?" he asked, trying to keep a serious face.
"Daft? How is it daft if i works? And anyway, think up ways you can help, if you want to. How about going to the Kitchens and doing an Inventory check?"
"Huh? You mean the weapons? Personally I doubt they keep any in this battle forsaken place," he muttered, now turning serious for once.
"But I suppose someone should check..."
"No, I meant go to the Kitchn=ens and right down how much of what we have in there! THEN you can go to Weapons."
Ooc: So does this mean I can kill Hail? Do you agree? Also, I march upon the abbey without you knowing and suddenly right before you decide to arm up... ::)
Bic: Grund arrived at the abbey, and instructed his beasts to bang the drums, and some others to place Hail on a post and wake him up with water. He as heavily defended, still.

BIC: Hail woke up when cold water was thrown onto him. Sputtering, he looked around at his surroundings. He seemed to be in the center of Grund's camp, and was heavily guarded. In front of him was a young fox, holding a bucket. Hail started frowning. He wasn't going to survive this. There was almost no chance. Ignoring the pain in his gut and leg, he called out. "Where's me brother?"the fox rasped. "I at least want to talk to 'im before 'e 'as me killed."
When Vatra woke up she felt like a new person. She felt confident and strong. She took the branch she had used as a javelin and went down to the cellars where she got some tools she then quickly went back to the kitchen where she started to work on her javelin when she was finished it was smooth and free of splinters and it had a fire hardened tip. She then heard out side the beating of drums. She borrowed a cloak and ran to the top of the front wall. Where she saw Grund's horde spread out across the plain in front of the abbey and in the middle she saw Hail.
"DRUMS, Zanga! Quick, arm everybeast up. I don't think a friendly traveler would beat drums. I'll go see what it is." Arya said, running down the hallway, trying to get the wallgates quickly. She shot past Ervoyce and the Abbess, shouting "DRUMS!!" over her shoulder. Then she got to the wallgate steps and ran up them. She did not like what she saw. Hail, captured and tied to a post.A pretty big army, milling around. She wanted to run screaming back to her room, to eat and draw. Instead, she yelled down, "What do you want?"
Grund made a change of plans. "A trade! Your abbey for a friend of yours.. My brother!"
Vatra grabbed a bow and arrows and yelled back down to Grund. "We will never give you the abbey!" and then shot an arrow at him. before he could see what happened she turned and ran down the wall step's and out the side gate.
That senseless squirrel!!! VATRA! As one of your leaders, I command you to get your tail back up here!!! Now!!! Don't make me jump on you!!!!" Arya screamed, glowering at her new friend. "Hey, you mousey! Find Ervoyce! Quick! Tell him that Vatra's charged out ALONE to meet the vermin in battle!!!!!" She called to the mouse who was standing nearby,.
Zu and Kogane heard Arya's call to arms and rushed to the walltops. Zu stared out grimly over the horde "There are too many of them for the Redwallers to handle, this will come down to a siege. They will attempt to break through the main gate, if the leader is competent then he will must send out soldiers to find other entrances, this being the case then the wall gates must be defended. We should pack the space behind the main gate hard, if not then they will be in within a heartbeat. The walltops should never be without guard, it would be too easy for them to climb over the top, assuming the have the correct equipment for the job. The main gate must be defended, we need archers up here to buy us time to pack the space behind the gate, do we have a sufficient number of bowbeasts?"
OOC: *Face paw* You would think you guys would have learned by now that Vatra can handle herself. It is always when someone tries to interfere when things go wrong.
BIC: Vatra ran around the side of the abbey keeping close to the wall She puled up the hood of the cloak up it covered her dark fur pretty well. She had white rags tied around her paws and partway up her arms and legs. She peeked around the corner and looked at the horde.
Brokentooth was aiming. He was standing near the back of the Horde, with his bow drawn. He could see the creatures scrambling around the wall-tops. Near the center of the wall stood three creatures. One seemed to be giving orders, and that was the one he aimed for. When he was almost certain the arrow would hit it's mark, he fired, the arrow heading straight towards the three creatures on the wall-top.
Ervoyce had just gotten up the stairs when his sharp ears picked up the whistle of an arrow. He instinctively knew the target, as the person talking was always the first to go. He quickly whipped his cloak off, and swung it in front of Arya. The arrow was diverted, and Ervoyce calmly looked at the arrow in his clothing, "Well, we can't have that now can we." He looked up to the designated leaders, "We need to get everybeast that doesn't need to be here off the walltops, and the ones that do need to be alert. We are dealing with vermin after all." Having made his statement, he turned and headed back down the stairs, realizizing that not everybeast was present, and he was pretty sure just what the missing one was planning, "Arya! Zhu! Don't let anybeast follow me!"
Vatra took five arrow and stuck them point first into the snow next to her she then took another and notched it to the bow her arm still hurt but she ignored the pain as she drew back the bow and zoned in on the vermin who had just fired an arrow at the wall top. She used to be a really good shot but she was a little out of practice. Although the wind was still and her target was pretty close so it would be hard to miss even for an ammeter which she definitely was not. She paused waiting for the right moment to send death sing threw the air.
Grund saw her pull back her bow just in time. He pulled a vermin from the horde and held it I. From t of him. The arrow ended buried deep in the poor ermine's stomach. The screams were short, but more in the middle of the horde sad sobs sounded. Most likely the ermine's wife. Grund walked up to his brother, and whispered in his ear "Looks like your dpfriend save you, will they?" Then he yelled to the wall tops: "Looks like you best give up your abbey!" He pulled back the knife, and stuck it shallowly in Hail's shoulder preparing to skin him alive...
Ooc: why do I feel so horrible? :'( poor Hail...
Yatar had just got back from Redwall's armoury, and was surprised to hear wild shouting. He peeked over the rampards, and immediately started running. Arriving at the crowd of bewildered redwallers, he passed out bows and quivers as fast as he could, before dumping the short range weapons in a pile so the most able beasts could help themselves. For himself he snatched a longsword nearly the same height as himself, and a short crossbow.
Brokentooth watched unhappily as his arrow was blocked. Not wanting to lose the targets, he continued to fire arrows, scattering them around the wall rather then just aiming at the leader.

Hail winced as the knife entered his shoulder. "Save me? Why would they?" Hail said. "I've brought them chaos, and that's it.
Vatra saw Grund go in after Hail and instead of firing at Brokentooth she fired all 5 arrows in quick succession one at the knife one at Grund and the others at the rope binding Hail to the post. She did it in such a way that if she missed she would miss and the arrow would pass by behind Hail leaving him unhurt.
Jantar had watched it all, she saw what the squirrel was trying to do, and quickly loaded her blowpipe. She didn't need to aim, she simply pointed it at Hail, and shouted, "If you fire one more arrow squirrel. Then Hail will die a most horrible death! Poison can sometimes be slower than being skinned!"

Zanga had called everyone, and was busily trying to organise them. He was up on the ramparts, sending creatures who didn't need to be here, down into the grounds to collect anything that could be used to pack the space behind the Maingate. And he sent others, to do the same for the wall gates, and he sent six creatures to guard the wall gates. "Archers, arm yourselfs, and be ready to fire!" He yelled. He also found some shields, and was running up, and down the ramparts handing them out to creatures standing in front.
Ervoyce had left behind his cloak, and switched to his completely white garb, "Hmph, and those moles said I looked ridiculous when I chose white." As foolish as the fox had been, he didn't deserve to die, especially not like this. As he passed Vatra, he tossed a very small clump of snow at her neck to get her attention. Anticipating a turn around he whispered, "Keep them busy, but don't get caught. I've snuck through horde's of vermin before, and these ones aren't nearly the brightest." With that he was gone, invisible to all except briefly to Vatra.
It was but a few moments later he was behind the intruding vermin, "Hail, just hang in there." His features hardened, "I'm coming!" With this last mental affirmation, he slowly wound his way through the distracted horde, he had but one chance, probably Hail's last. There was no room for messing up!

OOC: Rachel, Ervoyce lives and breaths by stealth, on top of this, you are in a giant blob of cantankerous vermin. There is no logical OR magical way in which you could possibly pick out a stealthy adversary midst the snow. That's purely Godmoding.

BIC: Vatra turned and saw Ervoyce for a second. She grind time for some action! She thought. She threw down the bow and taking the javelin she ran in to plain sight and yelled "Who want's a taste of Death Stinger!" Which was what she had named her javelin.

BIC: Arya had called her thanks to Ervoyce when he started going down the steps. To Zhu, "Alright...I don't think we have enough, but I've learned to shoot two arrows at once. It'll have to do. Kogane, isn't it? Do you mind if I order you around? There goes another hordebeast.....Find some moles, and tell them to firmly shore up ALL the gates. Thanks for the shield Zanga. Give it to someone else, I don't do shields. DUCK ZHU!!! Hang on....Got him!! I wonder if I can get that beast with the blowpipe...Those things are dangerous." Arya said, all the time shooting arrows. She pulled one of them back, and sighted on the fox. She shot the arrow.
OOC: It could miss horribly, although she was aiming for Jantar's head.
Jantar watched as an arrow came flying towards her. She leapt behind, Hail, but not in time. The arrow hit her in the tail. She screamed, in pain, and anger.
"Fire one more arrow! Just one! And he dies!" Jantar growled. She aimed her blowpipe up at the walls, and fired. She wasn't really aiming for somebeast in particular, but the walltops were crowded, it would hit someone.

"LOOK OUT!" Zanga shouted as a dart came flying toward a mole near him. He threw the shield Arya, had given back to him, the dart thudded into the edge of it.
OOC TO LEADERS: You guys should really consider clearing the walltops like I suggested before. ::) We can only block or dodge so many projectiles.
OOC: Um, but if the wall tops deserted, then who's gonna defend them for vermin using grapple hooks.
OOC: If you look back to the post where Ervoyce said something about it, you'll notice that I said all who don't need to be up there. IE, only leaders and a select few assistants that have useful capabilities..... Besides, we need lookouts on the other parts of the wall.

BIC: "Everyone off this wall! Beasts on the right, go guard the wall on your side, and part of the east wall. Beasts on the left, do the same on your side!" Zanga shouted, desperate not to let anyone get killed yet. Then he noticed a young squirrel, he was trying to organize the creatures down in the grounds. "Hey, you! Good work. When your done down there, come, and help us up here!"
The squirrel nodded, and hurried about his business.
"Good thinking Zanga!!" When Arya heard Jantar call up, she groiwled. "Archrers, cease fire! Sling beasts, forward! Oi, FOX! How's that tail?""
Yatar glowered at Arya, not sure what the squirrel was planning.
"Wait, Hail's about to get killed! What good will any slingbeast do?" he yelled. He was torn with the desire to jump of the wall and wildly attack the vermin horde and the desire to stay and help defend Redwall. Loading a bolt in his crossbow, he hopped up the the walltop.
"What's the deal then vermin? How can we save him?" he shouted across.
OOC: They already said they wanted the Abbey. ::) But we're obviously not going to give in to such an outrageous trade.
Two of the arrows missed, but to of the ropes cut. That left two left, allowing Hail to escape. Grund, realizing this stuck the knife deep In hails heart. But the other arrow sunk into his shoulder. He retreated, calling his healers.
Hail has started moving as soon as he felt the ropes loosen. But before he had made it more than a few steps, Grund's knife sunk into his chest. He stumbled a few steps, then hit the ground with a thud.
"Archers, aim, FIRE!" Jantar shouted. She had guessed something like this might happen, before they even got here. So she had instructed some of the archer beasts, to get themselves into good firing positions. It was a good thing she had.
OOC: Hopefully that wasn't God Moding. ::)
BIC: Zanga yelled out in pain, as an arrow hit him in the shoulder, and two more in his other shoulder, and lower arm. He had been standing right near the edge of the walltop, and had been hit bad.
It was too late, the beasts on the wall top had gotten too aggressive, "The Horde shall pay dearly for that." As Grund's assistants moved towards him, Ervoyce cut each of them down from behind with a knife through the back of their heart. Before anybeast could figure out what happened he moved in on a patch of vermin farther into the horde and pulled his "part of the snow," trick again. He was glad he'd done it earlier on Vatra, as he was better prepared for it now. The squirrel couldn't help but worry, he'd only be able to do this for so long, and there were several tempting targets. Problem was that all the vital figureheads lead from behind, so he'd be lucky to get just one of them.
OOC: You guys are literally like, THE worst negotiators ever. ::)
Yatar watched Hail being stabbed with a sinking heart. Although from where he was, there was nothing he could have done, he still felt that he somehow could have prevented the fox's deadly injury. Blind rage enveloped his vision, white hot anger. He badly wanted to charge into the horde, and madly slay vermin, but he knew in wouldn't help the defense of Redwall. Gritting his teeth, he dodged several stray arrows, noticing an otter near him get hit out of the corner of his eye.
Jantar, and a few other horde members, yelled out in surprise as some of there comrades fell dead in front of their eyes. "Who did that?" Jantar snapped at the horde.

Zanga had sat down, his back against the rampart. He couldn't think, he wasn't sure what he should do. He knew he mustn't pull the arrows out, that would only make him bleed more. And he knew he wasn't hurt bad, but he didn't know where the healer was in this place, surly someone would come, and help him.
Arya noticed that Zanga had been hit. "Zanga! Can you stand? You silly otter! Come on, I saw a healer mouse go down the steps a moment ago. I'll get him, while you STAY HERE. Don't move."
Grund walked out of the tent, his right arm patched. He had a shortsword in his left. "You there!" he said, grabbing his captain. "Take a score and chop a log. Then use it to barrel down the abbey door."
Vatras eyes turned red and she began to hack and chop her way threw the vermin she has no purpose just pure rage.

Vatra was not seeing strait she felt no pain despite the wounds she had received and the snow looked red. She lost count of time and space. She tried to focused and looked around for Ervoynce but all she was was vermin and a red haze. She new not how many she had killed she has lost count long ago. Here eyes locked on to Grund and she went after after him with a vengeance. She hadn't liked Hail that much but that gave Grund no right NO RIGHT.
OOC: But Faiyloe, we can't just let you cut through the horde. If we can't kill you, then what can we do. We can't just let you destroy the horde, and us not be able to do anything. Like Blaggut said, that's godmoding.
OOC: I think Blaggut was adressing Dan. Solution; Ervoyce calls Vatra to retreat, than we can have a bit of a siege, just to get the battle going properly. ;D We can't end the battle so soon!

Bic: Grunds fresh set of 20 vermin charged, and circled around Vatra. She could not escape by killing merely one, because there were three rows and the circle got smaller each time one died.
Yep, they had decided the target, time to make Vatra REALLY mad. Ervoyce broke cover in an explosive rush or snow, "Hey Vatra! When did your repertoire of stupidity include getting surrounded!" The squirrel bull-rushed as fast as he could through the back line, blew through Vatra, and used his blade and body to punch a hole large enough for another beast to go through. No time to stick around, he was one heck of a target now, "For the love of everything Vatra, don't stay!" He couldn't tell what it was, but something made him turn to see if she made it out.
OOC: Have you read what badgers do when they go mad? ::) Just pointing that out. One other thing, YOU designated the number that Vatra killed she just said she lost count which is an easy thing to do when you don't care about the vermin. Right now we are all walking very intricate lines between what is GodModding and what isn't, and this includes even you Blaggut, your horde has absolutely ridiculous response time at the moment. As things stand, they seem fair enough as the differing levels of OP are balancing out, you must realize that we have very few fighting beasts whereas you have a giant horde of them.

Vatra swiveled around at the sound of Ervoyces taunts she lost all interest in Grund she went after Ervoyce killing two more vermin as she made her way out threw the opening and injuring a third. Something caught on her side yet she hardly felt it. She saw Ervoyce look back at her and saw the look in his eyes and the red fog seemed to clear she slowed for a second but then kept running vermin on her tail. Her side burned painfully and the make shift bandage from the last fight was gone revealing the dried blood of the older wound.
Yeah.. The surrounding thing was pretty much the horde thinking. They didn't plan it, they just surrounded. So many they formed a barricade. Also, it's not my fault I have a huge horde, it is normal, therefore, not OP. you think Brian is gonna let his chars gonna get OP cuz the enemy is? I don't think so. Therefore, I am not "over powered".
Bic: Grunds horde followed Vatras injured self. They began charging, spears, blades, and whatever came to hand infront of them.
Ooc: Also, isn't Vatra's blood wrath over?
Ervoyce saw Vatra's head clear, "Thank heavens." He dropped back and got his shoulder under Vatra's, driving forward so as to leave the vermin behind, "You got any long, loose materials? Because if they start shooting at us before we get deep into the trees then we're both tempting targets."
OOC: Quick question, you see a ferocious monstrosity of an enemy charging forward waving a scary looking stake in your face, what do you do? Vermin are classically cowards, this is true both in the books and in real-life. Their immediate reaction would certainly not be to do something smart. ::) Wouldn't be mine either! I'd be running for my life! Blaggut, Brian's character's rose to the occasion, if you try arguing from that point then that's simply what we're doing, we're rising to meet a terrible threat which would thus justify everything that we've done. Everyone walks this line, it is something that a good RP'er must watch very carefully and gauge with caution as it is very elusive.
Arya pulled the healer to Zanga, then left them, "Sorry I can't stay longer. Vermin to kill, doncha know!" She looked over the walls and saw Vatra and Ervoyce running with vermin on there tail. She shot two arrows at once, hoping that the lower one wouldn't go too far down. as the lower ones happened to do.
Vatra gratefully allowed Ervoyce to help her along "Why do you keep doing that?!" She said then when Ervoyce asked for something long "Why what do you need it for?" She said with a puzzled look then she winced and her face contorted in to a sort of forced grimace. what she really wanted to do was yell out in pain.
OOC: Yes the bloodwrath is over.
But perhaps the vermin's fear was balanced out by wanting to get high status for killing an enemy.
Zanga was grateful that the healer had arrived, he began to take the arrows out carefully, and quickly washed the wounds, and bandaged them. "Thanks." Zanga said when the healer was done. "You better get off the wall now, I'll come with ya. I'm no use up here at the moment." As fast as he could in his present state, Zanga descended the steps, and went to see what he could help with down in the grounds.
Great! The lower one just happened to kill a particularly close vermin. But I think I'll stick to just one for now. Arya thought, aiming another arrow. She let it fly, and there went some vermin's ear. She notched another arrow, and shot it at the fox. Oh, for the love of nuts! Can't those two go any faster? I'm only just holding off those vermin on their tails! As it is, it's going to be close. She aimed another arrow, and almost shot it too low. Please don't hit them!
The vermin scurried back, getting near the abbey.

Grund picked up one of the rats who had come back. "COWARDS!" he bellowed. He pulled out his knife and plunged it into the vermin's heart. He walked over to a fox, a captain. "Is the log cut yet?" "Yes lord" "And you did not tell me?" "No, Lord" Grund sighed with displeasure. "Tell the fools to get the log and bash down the abbey door.
OOC: Just stating a strategy here, would somebeast kindly notice them trying to knock on our doors, and either 1.) Open the doors suddenly so that the log vermin fly into the Abbey and shut the doors immediately after so no beast else gets in. 2.) Heat up some cooking oil :P I think yall know what to do with it then. I'm saying this as Ervoyce will by no means have the chance to say it before the battering ram shows up.
Ooc: Class cooking oil, xD! I guess we're there now..
Bic: The abbey doors cracked inward, a hit or two more and the would break. A few more vermin joined those holding it, for more force.
"Get debris! Get rubble!" Yatar yelled. Then he noticed two moles hefting a huge cooking pot, filled to the brim with oil. With a testing dab with his paw, Yatar found it was burning hot.
"Good thinking mates!"
He directed the two to the edge of the ramparts, but unfortunately the huge iron pot was far too heavy the tip on the vermin below.
"Ahoy, somebeast help!" he called.
Zanga was busy piling earth, debris, and anything else that came to paw, in front of the Main Gate.
"Ahoy, somebeast help!"
Zanga heard the shout, and sent a mole, and a hedgehog to go help with whatever it was they needed help with up there.

Jantar had now hurried out of firing range, and was sitting outside her partly constructed tent. Her young vixen helper was busy putting it up, and commenting on how the battle was going.
Arya started alternating shooting at the battering ram vermin, and the ones chasing Ervoyce and Vatra. She screamed at the top of her lungs down to the squirrels, "HURRY UP!! I CAN'T KEEP THEM FROM GETTING YOU MUCH LONG- AHH!" An arrow had hit her stomach, and she doubled over, and then passed out from the pain.
OOC: Rachel Ervoyce has already left his hiding place and is now helping Vatra escape the vermin have retreated and and are now battering the front gate with a battering ram.
BIC: Vatra looked back over her shoulder to see a vermin close on her heels he reached out to grab her cloak but he fell over with Arya's arrow between his shoulders. Arya's arrows took out a few more and as they reached the edge of the woods. Vatra kept going being helped along by Ervoyce and soon all sound of pursuit diminished. Vatra stopped panting she placed a paw on the wound at her side and winced. She leaned against a tree and said "Why do you keep doing that?!" a mixture of frustration and concern in her voice.
The vermin hit the gate once more, now nearly destroyed. Soon it would break.
Occ: Are we allowed to win?
OOC: NOT THIS BATTLE!! And how is everyone ignoring a passed out squirrel, with an arrow in her stomach?
OOC: No one has been on who can do that Corn. (Do you mind if I call you that?)
OOC: True, and no, I don't mind. I'd just prefer Corny. ;D
OOC: Geez, a guy gets a little busy and everyone has a party. :P
@Blaggut: The Abbey main gates are literally one of the sturdiest structures, the strategic reason behind attacking them is that it makes a huge opening for the vermin to course through. You can't just come up and say, "Hey, the door's almost down, whatcha gonna do about it?" That is qualified under either GM'ing, or PP'ing depending on the way you go about the explanation. Also, I wouldn't expect to win, especially with some of the plans being made. ;) BIC:
Ervoyce groaned before saying anything as he had taken a slingstone to the neck and shoulder area. After sitting down and rubbing the bruised area for a moment he looked at Vatra, "Because I'm not going to let anybeast die when I have the capability to save them, " he closed his eyes and breathed deeply, leaning against a tree he continued, "I let it go once before, an*......." The squirrel opened his eyes, now staring at the dilapidated branches sprouting from the surrounding forest, "We should probably get back to the Abbey, I heard them giving the front gate a couple of knocks so It'd be best if we came in by the East Wicker gate."
BIC: Arya opened her eyes and sat up. She looked over the battlements and saw Ervoyce and Vatra talking, and a vermin creeping up on them. She found her bow and shot an arrow, which killed the vermin. She hoped they would be able to get to the Abbey alright, since that was her last arrow. She swayed and fell down against the sandstone.
"I let it go once before, an*......."
At these words Vatra looked up at him with a look of sad understanding in her eyes.
"We should probably get back to the Abbey, I heard them giving the front gate a couple of knocks so It'd be best if we came in by the East Wicker gate."
"OK," She said and then spun around as Arya's arrow hit the vermin. "We need to get going," She took some of the cloak in one paw and pressed it up against her wound and then staggered on.
Brokentooth smiled wickedly as his arrow met it's mark. A young squirrel, by the looks of her silhouetted form on the wall just before she was shot. He had killed several beasts and seemed like he would be adding another to his tally, after that shot. Just as he let lose another arrow, he was struck in the shoulder by a well aimed shot by a beast on the walls. Grimacing, he fell back into the woods. Hidden where he was, he continued to shoot from the trees, though not as accurately as before.
Another set of vermin refreshed those at the log. Another lot carrying set also went to the front gate.
Occ: Ok, now about 3 hits. Also, the abbey isnt built for attack, and those fats are seasons old. And again, am I allowed to win?!?!
OOC: Corn alredy said no. and as to the gates. Most any gate would not fall after just three hits. and these are not just any gates. These are the gates of Redwall which have with stood much more than that in the past. You would have to compare this to what happens in the books. You would have to hit it at least 30 times before you even made a dent. Add on to that the fact that they have been shored up making them niy impossible to breech. at least in that short amount of time it would take half a day of banging on the door before you did enough damage to make the Redwallers get nervous.
OOC: Let's just hope we don't drag this out so long that he has time to make a conventional battering ram instead of this dinky improvisation. :P BIC:
Ervoyce stood and followed Vatra, weighing the happenings against previous encounters to try and predict the vermin's next move, "The main gate is a pretty popular target, but I hope that the leaders have had sense enough to keep the majority of the guard elsewhere as they are most likely looking for a place to grapple...." The squirrel was somewhat spaced out, puzzling over strategies, and potential scenarios in his mind. This wouldn't be easy, not by a long shot.
Yatar nodding thankfully at the mole and hedgehog that had just appeared on the scene to help. Somebeast must have heard him calling. Gripping the huge iron monster in which the oil was stored, together they hefted it onto the edge of the walltop.
"Ok, easy now, easy..."
Together they heaved the contents over. A couple of seconds later they were greeted by the screams of agonized beasts. The boiling oil had done its work.
Vatra walked around the the wall gate she had left from before. It was still unlocked. She opened it and went in then she waited for Ervoyce to catch up. She suddenly felt very dizzy she leaned against the wall and held the door for support. She saw stars and then a blackness enveloped her she was falling in slow motion in to a pit a bottomless pit the sound of battle far off as if in another world and then nothing at all.
OOC: Can Vatra and Arya meet in the Infirmary? And then Vatra says she is sorry. FYI in a situation like this Corn you can PP a random healer character of fighting mouse. No one with a real character is in a position to help right now.
Zanga was thankful to hear the screams of vermin outside the gate, although he wasn't a creature who enjoyed violence, he did like justice. And the vermin were getting just that. He was feeling a lot better now, and thought about going back onto the wall. He was just mounting the wall steps, when he saw Arya go down. He now ran up the stairs, and raced towards her. "Are you alright, oh my goodness, I'll get you to a healer right away.!"

Jantar's eye grew wide as she saw a cooking pot full of some boiling liquid, being poured onto the battering ram. She screamed in rage, as vermin ran away left, right, and centre. "You fools! Blunders, get back, and finish battering down the ga*"
She saw something, two squirrels, going into the Abbey, via a small side gate. They must be the trouble causers. She smiled wickedly to herself, and picked up her blow pipe. And hurried towards the squirrels. You shall pay, you shall pay.
Ervoyce got inside just as Vatra was starting to sway, "Uh oh." After closing and firmly securing the gate he rushed to Vatra to catch her before she hit the ground, "Can't let you go conking your head on things now can we." The squirrel hefted his companion and made his way towards the infirmary, "How many more casualties can we afford?" They were being too aggressive, playing by the vermin's rules. He shook his head, trudging through the fluffy snow towards the nearest Abbey door.
OOC: I'm assuming (Faiyloe) that it's okay for me to do that?
OOC: Yup no prob seeing as I am out right now.
The few living or unscathed vermin retreated.
Ooc: I'd I'm not allowed to win, why am I even playing? >:( If I can't even win I'm NOT going to play this, cuz that would be stupid! If you wanna rig this against the horde, you can find your own dang Grund! >:(
Bic: Grund contemplated what to do. He saw a tree with large leaves and branches... Something stirred in his mind. When he was young, an ermine had tried to fly using leaves and branches. He had glided a short way, then fallen. His neck was sticking out of the flesh. Grund ordered one of his captains to make gliders out of branches and the largest, most aerodynamic, most stable leaves. And also to rig ropes up to the tops of the trees. They would need about 7. It wouldn't take to long...
OOC: You eventually might be able to almost win just not in this battle. Cluny almost took the abbey at the end of the book and so did Ironbeak. You just have to be patient. Gilders you have to be joking! that is the least practical approach. A) to make ones that would actually work and support any good amount of weight it would take a long time. B) where would you be gliding from the trees? You wouldn't be able to get them up there or take off properly without ruining them. C) There is no real advantage to using gliders that can't be met by simpler more effective means.
It would be better if you used grappling hooks and leaders, or you could even take a plank of wood like Cluny and and place it between a tree and the wall and cross on that. The best strategy are the simple ones. I could help you with some more ideas if you like. It seems unfair the the good side gets all the outside tactical help but the vermin side doesn't.

BIC: "Zanga? Oh...Arrow in stomach....Hurry..." She groaned, then blacked out again. Her last thought before blacking out was, I really do wish he was a squirrel...
Ooc: Well, I kinda wanna test out these idea sin battles.. I wonder if these wil, work. And Grund isn't the sharpest claw on the paw. so are you saying if i have a chance I CAN, but I most likely will not, but i pm allowed to win? So winning is not against the rules?
Bic: While the gliders were working, Grund decided to beat the pesky woodlanders at their own game. He instructed his vermin to go to a nearby pond and fill a large leaf with water. He then instructed his captain to make a score of vermin chop down a tree, and use their blades to make it a cauldron, after soaking it in water, it would be resistant to a fire, so they could have boiling water...
OOC: What would be the point of the vermin having boiling water? They couldn't get it up to the height needed to drop in it on the Redwallers, without the gliders, which certainly wouldn't be able to hold the weight of a cauldron full of water.
OOC: I have an idea instead of boiling water use fire. I think this might work in the laws of gravity etc... attach burning branches and light weight torches to the gliders then send them over the wall and in to the abbey grounds and building particularly the orchard. then they would have to divide there forces the defend not only the walls but to also put out the fire. I could make a tactical adviser character if you like for Grund. You need more vermin anyway.
OOC: One thing I'd just like to say, it's winter, there are no leafs. So the gliders, aren't gonna work.
And also, I'm confused over, who's gonna win. Is it gonna be a classic Redwallers are victorious RP. Or is it a, turn the whole Redwall world on its head, and the vermin win, there for setting up a sequel RP.
BIC: Zanga picked Arya up, and carried her down the wall steps, but now he was lost. Where was the healer's, or medic room in this place? Then he saw Ervoyce carrying another unconscious squirrel towards the Abbey. "Um, excuse me," Zanga shouted, "Do you know the way to the medic room, or whatever it's called here?"

Jantar's was seething. She was stood outside the little wicker gate, staring at the three poison darts that she had fired a little too late at the squirrels. They were all stuck in the gate.
She pulled them out, like she had a personal grudge against them. Oh, I'll get you squirrels, just you wait, and see. Jantar will get you.
OOC: For the Gliders leaves wouldn't work any way (even in summer) but some branches rope and tarp would. Also for the winning thing I believe in the end the Redwallers will prevail like in every other Redwall book but if it pleases Blaggut and Han then the vermin could breach the defenses in the final battle. Like I said that has happened in several of the books. it allows to show the strength of the villein with out the entire thing falling apart.
OOC: Yes, that would work. Also Blaggut, you could order some vermin to make rope ladders, so they could try a surprise attack in the dark. Or for a diversionary tactic. Man, you can tell we're all Redwall experts here. Cast ya peepers over the last few posts!
OOC: Or you could set up a diversion, then go, and break open one of the wicker gates. Though, Zanga did send sentries to guard the wicket gates. :-\
OOC: I really like the sound of a sequel RP. Especially as this is one of the few RPs that has actually been able to contine for the decent amount of time. BIC:
Kartaka the woliverine had finally arrived at Redwall, lthough unlike most of the crazed vermin, he had kept in the fringe of tree trunks, invisible to those on the walltops. Now he moved to the nearest wallgate, which was the north one. He wished he had got here sooner, he had headed a small party of vermin into the woods in search of two squirrel. His neck still ached from when one of them had attacked him. It had been the wild goose chase, but that was behind him now. Moving with surprising stealth, he slipped closer to the wicket gate. There were a few guards above on the walltop, he reckoned he could batter his way in by then, and attack the front gate defenders from the back.
Breaking from his cover, he shoulder charged to gate. Wham! Then was a loud snap, but no signs of it giving. He began smashed it with his huge flint-headed axe.
OOC: But........ the plans........ how a sequel?......... :(
Also, good luck taking on a gate by yourself without somebeast noticing and getting help.

Vatra felt a pain in her side. What had happened...? She was warm and there was... "Alec!" she said her eyes popping open and she tried to get up but she was pushed back down by a healer. She was in the infirmary. She looked around the room. Several others where there and lying in the bed beside her was Arya. Vatra let in a quick intake of breath in alarm and quickly regretted it as the pan in her side increased. She had made it worse by running with it. "Arya! Is Arya going to be OK!?" Vatra said as a healer mouse fixed up her wounds with herbs and bound them. The one in her side needed stitches yet she hardly felt them. Her mind was on the squirrel in the bed beside her. She couldn't die now she had to live. she wished so much now that the two of them had been on better terms. She couldn't die she had to tell her... she had to tell her... She bit her lip and a tear ran down her face and mingled with the blood on her cheek. Why did she have to always be so easily put off? Why was there so much hurt and grief in this world? Why... what was the purpose...? tears now visibly streamed down her face. "Why dose the world have to be like this?" She said quietly.

Yes plz! I cud use extra vermin. Also, my plan for boiling water is a siege. If I could get them on the ground, I could roll it down the hill or sumthin. But, dead leaves might work. What I don't understand is... How do I get fire, or even ropes?
OOC: You have plenty of supply's and tents and things I'm sure there is plenty of rope there. And fire is easy just build a fire with a flint stone and some wood. Any kind of leaves wouldn't work there would be to many holes and dead leaves would just brake. You need cloth a tarp of some kind.
Zanga was sat in a corner of the infirmary. He looked at the limp form of Arya, on the bed he had put her on. Please be alright, please.
Arya groaned, and opened her eyes. "Where am I?" she said, her memory a little fuzzy. Then she remembered. "Oh my nuts! Oops, sorry for the language....Where's Ervoyce and Vatra? Did they make it alright?" she asked, getting frantic. Then she saw Vatra in the bed next to her. "Are you alright? Will you quit fussing with me? I'm fine! There's othgers who are hurt worse than me, I'm sure." She snapped at the healer mouse who was trying to take a look at her stomach. "Beg pardon, Miss, but you most certainly are NOT fine! You've taken an arrow in your stomach, as well as a fractured rib from fainting on the walkway, which by the way, you made worse by shooting arrows!" he said, puffing up. "Oh, spare me the details, you puffer head! If I hadn't shot that arrow, Vatra wouldn't be here! And neither would Ervoyce, wherever he is! In fact, I should be doing something! I'm not going to lay around doing nothing while others are getting hurt! At the very least let me make arrows! I'm out anyway. And even if you don't give me something to, I'm going to sneak out and do something anyways! I'm a squirrel of my word, and that word is NEVER, EVER broken! Got that, puffer head? So help me, I'm getting out of this bed!" Arya said, swinging her legs out of the bed. She grimaced, standing up, but grabbed the bed pot. "Save it! I don't want to hear one word!" she insisted, glaring at the poor mouse. He grew fvlustered anfd flounced off, muttering under his breath. She nodded in satisfaction, and made her way across to Vatra's bed post. "How are you feeling?"
"Your alive! Oh you should sit down you have been hurt more than I have," She said sitting up and reaching out her paw to help her. "I Am so so sorry I have acted like an idiot in the past and I know we made up in the kitchens earlier but this is my real apology," She sighed and continued looking at the floor. " I have lived in abbey for several seasons now but I had never really had a friend. A real friend I think I scared them away. Would you be my friend...?"

Zanga had to cover his mouth to stop a chuckle escaping, as Arya took a chunk out of the healer mouse. He then walked over to her, where she was talking to Vatra. "Sorry if I'm intruding, but Arya you really need to sit back down. I'll get you the gear to make arrows, but only if you promise to stay here, and be good." He was quietly happy that she was alright, and able to sort of stand, but she mustn't over do it. Or she'd be no use to anyone.
"Fine, Zanga....Quite looking at me like that, healers! don't you think he (Here she motioned with her paw to the door, where an injured was coming in) needs some attention? And of course I'm alive, Vatra! It'll take more than an arrow in me to stop me! Thanks...Do you mind if I sit here? Anyway, of course I'll be your friend! Hah, you'll certainly have try really hard to scare me away! Oh, for heavens sake, you don't give up, do you Puffer Head? Just give me that!" Arya said, grabbing the jar of ointment the huffy healer had. "Now, shoo! Can't you see I'm talking to someone? Hey! I can take of my bandages perfectly fine, thank you very much! Go torture some other poor beast." She peeled back her bandages, after addressing the increasingly mad healer (Who I'm going to call Pruss, but he won't be in the picture much longer). "Hmm...Sharp[ arrow." She slapped the ointment on and then did her rib.
Vatra smiled for the second time that day. "I am so glad that..." Then she saw Aryas wound " Oh my that looks bad,"
"And it looks bad for a reason." Ervoyce had been on his way out having caught wind about some banging on one of the side gates, but hearing Arya's stubborn refusal of medical aid brought him back. Giving his fellow squirrel a stern look he continued, "I don't care how you feel, that was an arrow and a vermin one at that, you never know what's on one of those things. That is excusing the threat of infection as it is. Now sit down for a few moments so that a trained medical beast can have a look-see and do something about your wounds." Arms crossed and eyes narrow, he had to work hard to avoid rolling his eyes at the miscreant.
Vatra smiled and almost giggled then she said to Ervoyce "I don't think I said this earlier but thank you for helping me back there.
Zanga stood back, "Fine, I'll go." He also was a little intimidated by the amount of squirrels in the room, also the room itself was worrying him. He hated rooms, he had lived most of his life outdoors, and still didn't like coming inside. He made his way down the hall, and down the stairs into Great Hall. There he met a friendly look vole, Zanga asked him if you could take a load of arrow making gear up to the infirmary, and to give it to a squirrel called Arya. The vole agreed, and ran off to find the gear.
Ervoyce turned his attention to Vatra, "Like I told you before, I'm not going to let another beast suffer, die, or even be foolish alone if I can change the outcome positively."
Ooc: Yay, another long expanse of waiting for morning... Try to hurry up, and no snowball fights please.
OOC: LOL. Oh I had an idea blaggut. after you launch the gliders and they sail over the abbey wall you can get some of your best archers to shoot them down so you can make them fall exactly where you want them to.
BIC: "Well I am glad you did," Vatra said then a Vole came over with some arrow making material asking which one of us was Arya.
"Oh, it looks worse than it feels," Arya said, putting the bandages back on. She then just stuck her tongue out at Ervoyce and brightened up immensely when the vole came over. "Oh, I'm Arya. Thank you for the gear." then went to work, making arrows quickly and efficiently. She'd had plenty of practice, after all.

Zanga was outside now, just helping with this, and that, then he went to the kitchens to help bring food to the beasts on guard. A mousemaid, and him walked along the wall handing out cups, and filling them with soup, and handing out bread to go with it.
"Oh, shut up Ervoyce. I'm not going to sit around twiddling my thumbs. IT's just not possible for me. If you want me to stop, then you're going to have to take this stuff away." Arya retorted, putting another arrow on stack she finished. She rolled her eyes, since certainly he would know the feeling that you just HAVE to do something.
Vatra stood up and rolled her eyes. She saw the cloak she had been wearing with a nasty blood stain on it and grimaced. That hadn't even been hers... Oh well. "Just stay put or I'll have to personalty guard your bed and I don't think you want to be stuck with me all day I know I wouldn't... Want to be stuck with me that is,"
"I might. Go shoot some vermin for me, will you? Since Puffer head over there is giving me the evil eye as it is. Oh, and could you do me a favor and fetch my bow and quiver down from the walls, since I can't?" Arya said, without looking up. She was completely and totally engrossed in making arrows. When she thought no one was looking, she left her eyes drift to Ervoyce and Vatra....They seem so....Comfortable together. Well, if Vatra likes him, then I guess I'd settle for being friends with him....He would make a good mate, though. Don't think that! It's wrong to lead yourself on.
"I'll do that. Store it in the gate house for when you get better," Vatra said she then turned and slowly walked out of the infirmary and down the stairs.

Bic: Grund had his vermin pull ropes down from the tents and make rough ladders, with hooks from tent poles, timber, and sap attached to the top. The gliders were ready. Everything was... His vermin glie over the edge of the wall. They dropped hooks down onto the wall-tops. They made a bit of a clang, but not much. The gentle breeze carried them on. One landed next to the infirmary window. He went in, blades at the ready. Vermin began toppling onto the walltops. About 20 were there allready. Grund had his men make fire near the gates.. The plan was coming together!
Ooc: Ok. I REALLY need to know, am I allowed to slaughter everyone and take over the abbey, winning? Or am I not allowed, even if my army makes it in?
OOC: No you are not allowed to win. Anyway we already discussed this the gilders will not hold up vermin and take them over the wall with out being able to take off from some point higher than the wall which there isn't (You can't change the laws of physics). You can however fly them over the wall with some thing lighter like a lighted torch and then shoot them out of the sky (like I suggested before) when they are over the abbey particularly the orchards. The thing with the fire and the ladders are good although you have to take into consideration there are at least 20 Redwallers guarding the front wall and 10 more at each of the other walls.
BIC: Vatra had gotten herself another cloak Jacket and scarf and gone outside. After she had gotten Arya's bow down from the wall and stowed it away as she had promised she started walking around the abbey grounds as she passed the pond she noticed something on the shore as she got closer she realized it was her scarf she soon found her jacket and cloak tangled in the reeds. Why do I insist on punishing my cloths she thought taking them and bringing them inside to dry. I suppose these can be mended. She then went back up to the wall it was getting dark.
OOC: Faiy, there's trees the vermin could've, and would've, launched from. I'm saying this to try and orevent another fight. Also, Blaggut. When I made this, I wanted to stick to the Redwall theme. Villains never truly win in Redwall, but many, more intelligent and powerful villains manage to take over the abbey for a time. I wouldn't mind, and would even prefer if everyone let Blaggut and the horde get into Redwall for a time, but take it back eventually.
OOC: got it... Oh! that is a good idea. they take the abbey forcing every one to flea into the woods and then the woodlands have to get it back. I like it. We needed some middle action anyway.
BIC: Vatra noticed a light like a fire by the front gate she griped her Javelin tighter and heard yelling and smelled smoke she started turned and sprinted along the wall towards the noise. Death stinger 'll taste blood tonight she whispered a grin on her face.
The vermin had finished the fire. They placed the vat of water before the gates, boiling hot. Then they lit fire to the doors. More vermin climbed the ropes. Grund stepped back a bit. He ordere the vermin closer to the gates.
Ooc: Ok. I'm just gonna stay winning-oriented and wait for you'll to beat me. But if it's totally in my favor, which or may or may not be later, wouldn't it kinda be un-realistic and cheating to suddenly make me lose?
OOC: That is why we where saying that you win take the abbey we run off then we take the abbey back.
BIC: Vatra clashed with one of the vermin knocking him off the wall She gave a yell and plunged in to the fray she brushed past a mouse and made her way to the latter Killing another rat on the way she was clinging to sanity even with the heat of battle all around her she needed to stay with it or she could hurt some one unintentionally.
Across from Faiyloe, a few more vermin made it on top. They rushed at her with their blade ready.

BIC: Vatra Charged and yelled some thing in audible and took out two of them as they came at her "Some one cut the Ropes!" She yelled before she lost control. Her eyes turned red and glowed in the light coming from the fire.
Ooc: Amyone gonna go defend the gates?

The situation had turned bleak rather quickly, it had been a quiet night until the sudden tussle at the main gate. This was a problem considering he had gone to check out the gate that had been reported as having something banging on it. (assuming you left after all this time) Ervoyce switched gears quickly after reminding the watch to stay put and keep their heads low, ready to signal for help immediately should vermin appear in the vicinity. Foot paws pounding, the squirrel became increasingly concerned as he saw all the ugly mugs jumping the walltop, "Vatra! Push to one end of the ladder line and keep the vermin suppressed! I'll be joining you soon! AND KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN!"
Ervoyce rounded the corner with little to no deceleration while at the same time drawing his blade, "blood is in the air this night."
A shot wizzed at Ervoyance, who's head was not low.
Ooc: I thought it was not low, is it?
Yatar sliced an ermine's neck open as the unfortunate vermin poked his head over the battlements. He was slightly concerned about the number of unwashed creatures swarming the walls, but his expression revealed none of his emotions. Smashing a rat's jaw with his fist the groundhog battled on relentlessly.

Karataka glanced up at the walltop as he stopped battering the wallgate. Some of the walltop guards has run off to get more help, but he was surprised that none had come yet. Backing away from the mangled wooden door, the wolverine decided to alert Grund that there was more entrances than the main gate. He moved quickly, disappearing into the bare trees. As he approached the horde, he spotted Grund and sped up.
"Grund, come here! I need to speak!"
Zanga found himself running from the Abbey, and up onto the walls. He sliced a ferret who was swinging a hefty axe, and then decapitated a weasel who came at him. He cried out in pain as a rat with a sword, slashed his arm open. But the wound wasn't too bad, Zanga battled the rat along the walls, until the vermin was stabbed in the back by a mouse with a sword. "Thanks friend!" Zanga shouted, then he heard Vatra shout, "Someone cut the ropes!"
Zanga was stood next to some of the ropes, and quickly, using Martin's sword, sliced through the ropes.
Vatra didn't hear Ervoyce she was fighting threw a red haze darkness and rage obstructing her vision. She kicked a vermin who was just popping his head up over the wall he fell knocking several of the vermin below him off the ladder. Then Vatra went after two more vermin who had started to make there way along the wall.
OOC: I would warn against getting near Vatra She no longer has any control and it is very likely that in the fray she could hurt some one. also there is more than one ladder I think.
I sent over at least 10 fliers. All dropped cables. And is no one seriously defending the gates??? They're BURNING!
Bic: The last four flies went over dropping more hooks. Heeding the vermin's advice, rats begin to pour through tithe other gates.
OOC: Blaggut those gates are locked you would have to brake them down before you could come charging in like that.
OOC: The gates wouldn't burn that fast, and you would have to break them open which would take ages.
OOC: Holy caholy! (I would repeat the ca part, but recently learned that repeating "ca" twice is a Spanish cuss word, therefore...) Can't I stay away for ONE DAY?!?!?!?!
BIC: Arya stirred and woke up, since she'd turned on the side of her bad rib. She sat up and looked out the Infirmary window and screamed, "AGGGGHHHH!!!!" Oh, dear....The odds are not good, as one squirrel maid with a hole in her stomach, and a broken rib, with no weapons, against a fit and ready to fight heavily armed rat, coming toward me. NOT GOOD!! "HEELP!!" Oh, hey, arrows! No bow, but luckily I started sharpening a few before I went to bed. She grabbed two arrows, and started fighting with the rat, having gotten out of the bed. The rat was duly killed, with no further injury except a scratch or two that had already quit bleeding. She reassured the others who were in the Infirmary, and started patrolling the room, letting no one help. The others went back to sleep in due time, but he continued walking around the room, now freezing in fronyt of the door, thinking she heard someone coming, now stopping a moment to watch the attackers and defenders on the wall, seeing occasional flashes of fire and quite a few time watching somebeast go over the wall, and all the time worrying about Vatra and Ervoyce and Zanga....Wondering if the Abbey was taken, then if they would remember the patients there.
Find it unlikely you killed that rat..m ::) Oh, and il, break do pen those doors.
Bic: Suddenly all the vermin rewind and the doors close. A few vermin bearing logs came to the smaller gates and wooden door, smashing them.
OOC: Han, I know you're not on as often as we are, but can you please take charge of your RP? It's falling to pieces which is ruining the experience of an RP with great potential. :(
Blaggut, have you even read the books? Because I'm starting to find that hard to believe. You can't just walk up to a hulking mass of wood and bash it down or burn it up, do you know how long it takes to burn the average LOG? A long time, all of these things take time, you have literally no patience which is detracting from the amount of reality that's to be expected in a Redwall Roleplay. Cluny took days to get his plans rolling, and in the end only held the Abbey for a few hours. Raga Bol (spelling?) never even made it inside the main building. Point being that if you aren't ready to let time do its' job, then you really need to reconsider participation.... I'm sorry to say it but that's what its' come to, are you willing to wait?
OOC: A simple solution to this is to pick up one or two random vermin characters and play them out in the battles. If you play 20 characters at the same time of coarse things are going to move to fast. Show things threw a single perspective and that should slow things down.
OOC: Then do it. I'm sorry, I thought I could manage this, but I made this when I was still relatively new to these forums and didn't understand how the characters were played. It seems to me like all character are powerplayed in a way, being nearly impossible to kill, but honestly the most trouble is Blagguts horde. For the sake of the roleplay, Blaggut, please start limiting your horde. At this point many of the vermin would have realized their defeat and fled, and you don't have a never ending supply of rats. Also, I've said this before, but you will not win the battle! I do feel, however, that Grund is a strong enough villain in many ways to take the abbey for a time. I'd still like to get more opinions on this, however, so I am making a poll.
OOC: I voted yes, as long as it's not permanent, but if it is, then I think there should be a sequel RP.
BIC: Zanga was getting tired, he couldn't continue on like this. They had to stop the vermin getting in.
OOC: I voted yes in the poll, so long as it is temporary. Oh, and Blaggut? You forget that Cluny and Raga Bol and that little wimp - what's his name? Bad Red! And all the others who attacked the Abbey did so in TIME. TIME is very important. Time and strategy. You're a little too eager there. Now, let's see if I can get those creative juices flowing like yesterday.
BIC: Arya continued patrolling, but tripped on the dead rat's carcass and fell. Thankfully her bed was there, and she fell on it, therefore gaining no other injury. She sighed and started dragging it toward the window, which hurt quite a bit, and something poked her. The vermin had a bow! She thanked the fates and got it off him and then realized that she couldn't shoot with it, so it was quite useless. she cast it aside and got the vermin out the window, then sat down in a spot where she could watch the door and window.
Ooc: Guys, I haven't broken the gates yet... Im just saying we are trying to.
OOC: Okay...But your posts kinda sound like you're rushing things....Majorly rushing things.
BIC: Arya started gnawing her lip with worry. What if Ervoyce or Zanga o Vatra fall over the walls? Or even worse, are killed fighting? What if the Abbey falls, and they don't come back for us? We're just a group of invalids, with the least hurt one of us with a hole in his shoulder. We wouldn't stand a chance! They need us out there...But we can't!! She thought, picking up the arrow making stuff to keep her paws busy. Then she looked at the bow. Her eyes hardened. She went over and picked it up, not caring that it was going hurt, probably the worse she'd ever felt in her life. She didn't care, since her friends were in danger, and who cared if it hurt her? She moved the chair noisily over to the window and sat in it, waking up the others who immediately tried to make see reason, but she didn't listen and started firing arrows at the vermin. At least, she hoped it was the vermin.
Ervoyce stayed his course, these vermin shot just like any other he had encountered, so he knew when to stutter. Even so, he kept his head fairly low, "Vatra listen to me! If there were ever a time for your common sense to take over now would be it! You need to focus. You hear me? FOCUS!" He was lucky enough to have only a runty weasel in his way going for the first ladder. He bashed the vermin off the wall and slit the first ladder... Now the trouble started. He was faced with a fox and a stoat, both had spears. After cutting the second ladder down, he thanked his lucky stars for the throwing knives that had solved his former predicament. While in the middle of a deadly dance of blades with a rat, the squirrel couldn't help but wonder how they were going to get out of this messy situation. The population of un-wanted visitors on the wall tops was increasing at a rate that was quite frightening, and the gates wouldn't be able to hold forever.
OOC: Faiyloe, Rachel, and (shade?) just a reminder that our plans are for the final battle, and it's looking like this isn't it, so we'll have to wait (was really looking forward to it too).
Vatra heard Ervoyce's voice as if from far away threw the melee.
"Vatra listen to me! If there were ever a time for your common sense to take over now would be it! You need to focus. You hear me? FOCUS!"
The sound of his voice lit a small spark of sanity deep inside her mind fighting to gain control. Something yelling screaming but quiet like threw a closed door. And while Vatra fought vermin on the outside something on the inside fought to regain control. Yelling, reasoning with her, slowly getting loader and louder yet still the blood lust did not fade. The suddenly for a split second she saw Alec and she stopped stock still, time slowed, not moving, hardly breathing. The light of the fire dancing across the side of her face the other side dark pail moon light and a single tear mingling with sweat and blood on her cheek. The sound of fighting crisp and clear yet quiet as if far away. The dark sky spattered with the sliver specks of shining stars above her head and the red sandstone strewn with blood below her feet. She took it all in in a moment. Such beauty, sorrow and death. Why did the world have to be so cruel.
Something hit her over the back of the head yet Vatra hardly felt it. She went over the wall and fell into a snow drift darkness consuming her.
OOC: If You seriously have a problem with me taking Vatra out for the count then I can change it. But I will only do it if I really have to. And If I do you will have to Deal with one seriously mad Squirrel and for once it wont be Vatra. ;D
Ooc: Dan, who says you'll are winning? It's in my favor. And you can't just walk over and cut ropes. Their coming up steadily (vermin) Not so fast you can beserk them but fast enough you can't just walk over and block the ropes! And am not rushing this! I said the vermin were merely beginning to break the gates. And when I say why isn't anyone defending the gates, how long does it take your incompetent archers to get there for firing support! >:( >:(

OOC: Ropes don't take allot of cutting before they brake and any vermin on the ladder is vulnerable because they really can't use both hands and they have extremely little room to move freely. Making them easy to push off loose balance and kill. You may not be moving fast but in comparison to the speed we are moving you are going way to fast. In the time it took for us to climb to the wall top and cut two rope ladders (Out of 10 I am amusing) You have set fire to the front gate swarmed the wall top invaded the infirmary and started to brake down the other side gates. All things that take a lot longer to really do. For every one action we take you take three. Like I said before this problem is easy to fix just make every thing happen through the perspective of one creature. You are controlling way to many vermin at the same time to the point of GMing there is no way for us to win cause you have a never ending horde of vermin all under your command.

Post 1: Grund told random vermin number 1 (or RVN1) to go take a group off to try and brake down the west wall gate. RVN1 went to go do his biding.

Post 6: The hinges snapped, the wood cracked and the door gave way. The vermin crowded in but the door was so small that they could only fit in 2 at a time.
That is a more realistic timing. The problem was that you executed an action before you executed the necessary actions needed to prepare to do it. you just miraculously had every thing necessary to do it right away. Also what is Grund doing He hasn't given a real command since the battle started. show him commanding let him do his job. How dose the horde know what to do when if he doesn't tell them. All this will add "air time" or word count while lessening the RPing time. (Pleas don't be mad I am only trying to help improve the Rping experience for all of us.)
OOC: Faiyloe's right. And Faiy, if Vatra dies you are going to have one seriously mad and suicidal squirrel on your hands. I mean it. How about she somehow survives the fall and gets to the Infirmary after the battle ends, in which case Blaggut doesn't win YET??
BIC: Arya took a break from shooting, started gnawing her lip again, getting more worried by the second. Surely they will sometime? They can't be unstoppable! Gah, this pesky rib....I just selfishly wish that everyone I care about could be in this Infirmary. Arya thought, picking up her bow again. Hey, a squirrel I think just went over the walls! I hope it isn't Vatra or Ervoyce. I don't think I could deal with that. I'd go out and attack the army...As I did once before. she grimaced, the memory disturbing her. How could it not? She'd nearly died. Then again, at the time, she didn't care. Vatra was not the only squirrel around with issues. Hers was grief.
OOC: Don't worry I still have plans for her. I'll just make it that she fell just the right way in an exceptionally large snow drift. She is not dead and she does not have any broken bones. She will just be sore and cold when she wakes up with a spitting headache. But I don't know about getting back the the infirmary cause she is probably on the wrong side of the wall. (haven't decided yet)

BIC: Arya aimed, and fired another arrow, and gasped with pain. The more arrows she shot, the worse that pain got. It racked her slim, fit frame, but she put it out of her mind. Until she fell on the floor, that is. She blaced out for a moment, then realized, Oh, hey, I'm on the floor. She got up, and staggered for a moment, but sat back in the chair and started firing again.
Zanga saw Vatra go down, he wished he could go, and help her, but he was hard pressed. Boxed in by vermin. One sliced his leg open, another got his sword through as well, and cut his arm. Zanga couldn't go on, he managed to wound one, and kill another, but then the wounded one stabbed him again. Zanga dropped Martin's sword, it fell over the walltop, and out onto the road. Zanga tried to catch it, but wasn't in time. The wounded vermin came at him again, and Zanga managed to avoid being stabbed, but the vermin then punched him hard on the back of the head. Zanga went flying, the vermin packed quite a punch. He couldn't help yelling, as he fell. Fortunately, he landed in a snowdrift, but on the wrong side of the wall. He was surrounded, and only had his dagger for protection. He just hoped no one had seen him.
OOC: Please no one kill Zanga, I still have use for him. Involving Jantar. >:D

BIC: Zanga sat up, in pain. The snow around him had turned red in places. That worried him. What if I bleed to death? And no one will be able to help me, cos I'm out here.
He never heard anything, but he felt it. A spear butt came crashing down on the back of his head. Zanga was out like a light.
OOC: No one control the vermin who knocked him out! I want to decided what he does with Zanga!
Vatra slowly came to. The first thing she noticed was how cold it was. Cold and... wet? She had a splitting headache and all the yelling in the background wasn't helping. The yelling! The battle! Her eyes popped open It was dark and the snow was stained with blood. She had landed in a particularly large snow drift which had softened her landing.
To her right was the front gate which was blazing. She tried not to be noticed as she slowly looked around and asses her situation but her head was making it hard to think strait. She saw her javelin lying in the snow a pace away from her. she reached out and grabbed it. No one had noticed her. She stood up. Then something caught her eye. Something red glinting in the fire light. She went over and picked it up. It was martins sword. She wiped the blood off in the snow, held it up and looked at it in marvel. The silver blade shown in the dancing light of the fire reflecting of the blade competing with the pail moon light. The sword felt light in her paws and perfectly balanced. She flicked it around lightning quick and it danced. This weapon was unlike any she had ever see or felt. With the sword in her paws she felt like she could take them all on with or without the bloodwrath. She felt Courage and hope and freedom.
She lashed out at a Ferret with a maneuver she hadn't used in years. She started out trying to make her way to the forest fighting all the way. For once her head was clear yet she was fighting as fiercely as ever. It was like the difference between the sun and the Moon they are so different yet the same. She knew there was no way she was going to get back into the abbey.
OOC: Where's Jet? We need him. :P BIC:
Ervoyce had left the wall top as the vermin had become too much. Making sure, of course, to use the force of gravity to lethal effect on a distracted vermin below. The squirrel backed away from the frenzy to try and get a feel for the violent happenings... Things were near hopeless. He turned to look into the Infirmary window and was quite glad to see Arya standing there, the wounded needed to be moved pronto, "Arya! Get everybeast inside the Abbey to leave out the back gate! I'm pretty sure they left that one alone! I'm going to try and get everybeast outside headed towards the exits!" After shouting to his friend, Ervoyce turned once again to face the carnage. He looked down briefly at the bloody and tattered remains of his traveling cloak, "Well, we've both seen better days haven't we?" After slipping off the dark cloak, he made his way back to the battle scene with renewed vigor, "You've not won yet vermin, not by a long shot."
OOC: Assuming it's time to leave now. ::) And we should really get in contact with a big tribe of Guosim right after vacating the Abbey. ;)
Vatra heard Evoyces voice distant and uninterpretable yet strong. He was still alive and the fire of hope burned ever brighter in her. She saw a Vermin standing over the prone figure of Zanga. She ran over yelling "Leave him alone!"
OOC: If you don't like that Rachel then I can change it.

Ooc: Ok. I'll control one vermin at a time. Might take a bit of practice- first RP.
Bic: The side walls were begging to groan. Splinters formed around the hinges. The cold just pushed the vermin on. Meanwhile, Grund was comfortable next to a large campfire. He called an ermine captain over. "Yargin, take ya ovah a few vermin. Those men need help at that side gate. Back at the gates- The vermin shot arrows at the walltops. Agonized screams brought snarling smiles to their eyes, flames flickering in their eyes. Ash was starting to slip off the gates. The vermin licked their lips, placing their paws on their blades. Blood would gush onto the snow soon.

BIC: Zanga woke with a groan. His head was splitting. Everything was blurry. He tried to reach up, and hold his head, but couldn't. He was tied up!
Soon everything came into focus, but Zanga wished it hadn't. He could now see the trouble he was in.
He was tightly bound to a wooden stake in the middle of a tent. Just in front of him, a fire burned in a small pit. He turned his head, and saw some blankets on the ground, and a table. The table was covered in bottles, scrolls, feathers, bones, stones, and a dagger. Zanga shuddered at the sight of the weapon.
He winced as a rope dug into one of his wounds. The worry of blood loss flooded his mind, but when he looked down, he saw that all his wounds, had been bandaged. The bandages were dirty, but Zanga had not time to worry about infection, cos just then, someone came into the tent.
"Ah your awake, at last." It was a vixen, she smiled cruelly at the bound otter. "I'm glad your up, I was worried Kuleg had killed you."
"Who are you?" Zanga didn't really care, but he just wanted to show he wasn't afraid. But one thing he was right now, was afraid.
"I am Jantar the Seer." Jantar announced, and walked over to the table.
Vatra ran threw the trees. Oh what she would do for a bow now. She could easily cut down the vermin with a bow but enough of that she didn't have a bow and that was that. They were to many on the wall top it made her nervous. Where was Ervoyce? She hoped he was ok. She looked down at a group of archers.She quietly dropped down from the tree behind them. I need to make my self angry. She thought Think angry thoughts. For once in her life she actually wanted to get the Bloodwrath and it wasn't working. Then the vermin in front of her fired off some arrows she heard the screams and she saw there wicked faces and her eyes filled with rage and fury they weren't just killing they were enjoying it. Smiling as they cut down her friends! She ran at them in raged taking them by surprise. She had killed three of them before they even knew she was there.
"Oh, a seer." Zanga couldn't trust himself to say more. His teeth had started chattering, and it wasn't from the cold.
Jantar then picked a bowl up from off the table, and the dagger. She walked over to Zanga, and knelt down beside him. "I'm sure you won't mind losing a little more blood."
Before Zanga could say anything, Jantar had cut his arm open. The wound wasn't very deep, but it still hurt.
Zanga cried out in pain as Jantar grabbed his arm, and started to squeeze the blood out of it. She caught it all in the bowl. When she decided she had enough, she stood up, and went, and sat down next to the fire.
"This is war blood!" She announced, obviously pleased.
"What the heck is war blood?" Zanga asked, before letting out a curse.
Jantar ignored him, and continued to look at her bowl. "You have travelled many a mile, never settling down, but not knowing why. Following someone without even knowing.
I see great suffering, slaughter. A terrible fox, cutting down your loved ones. You stand up to fight him, but you are cut down before you can get to him. You black out, they left you for dead." She looked up at Zanga, "All this you have forgotten. This piece of your memory, lost. But now you are battling the fox."
OOC: Blaggut, I was thinking that Grund could be the fox, Jantar's talking about. Is that alright?
@Faiyloe, could Vatra rescue Zanga, I don't want him to die yet. And it would mean another encounter with Jantar.
Vatra was overwhelmed Soon after starting the fight The Bloodwrath had faded. She took to the trees not in fear but to find a better battle ground. She had an idea she made her way to the camp in the dark to wreak bloody havoc. She cam up behind a tent she thought she heard Zanga and stooped. then she heard it again from inside the tent she looked threw a tare in the tent and saw him tied to a stake. With a yell she cut open the side of the tent with Martins sword kicked over the table in Jantars direction and then cut the rope with a swing of the sword.
OOC: If this seems extravagant remember she is mad.
Jantar screamed in surprise, and jumped out of the table's path just in time. But it landed in the fire, and one of the bottles on the table landed in the fire also. The fire suddenly flared bright green.
Zanga seeing he was free, jumped up, and ran from the now flaming tent. He didn't get too far, he ran slap bang, into a hulking rat, but the rat was more surprised than Zanga, and slow to react. Zanga grabbed the dagger that was in the rat's belt, and stabbed him in the heart. The rat fell dead at his feet, and Zanga set off again. Into the woods.
Vatra ran outside and cut the tent ropes then she ran after Zanga now some vermin had notice and where coming her way. She charged and took them head on killing several before turning to fallow Zanga.
OOC: Blaggut, I also have a vermin character. Rachel , maybe Zanga and Brokentooth run into each other in the woods, and have a little duel.
BIC: Brokentooth slipped deeper into the woods. He dropped his bow as he ran, knowing it would be useless in the woods. He heard a noise, and pulled out his knife with a start.
Vatra caught up with Zanga and reluctantly passed the sword to him. When she used it she felt so in control. "I believe this is your's," She said. Who cares any way she thought taking hold of Death Stinger.
OOC: Do you guys mind waiting up for Cornflower please? I can't do anything until she's responded to my previous post, and yall are going pretty fast. ;)

Bic: One of the vermin fell back sprawling, after the (squirrel?) came through. Only then did he realize that the squirrel had knocked the cauldron a bit. A small amount poured out, directly on to his face. The screams lasted long until he was out of hearing range. The vermin braced themselves for more attacks, they went to doing rather than firing to. Above the vermin, (and a bit of a vermin's face, lying in he snow), on the walltops, the vermi were finishing their plan. At two of the ropes or so, ermine crawled up the ropes. They held ropes with grapples. Over at the gate- A long crack appeared at the hinges, stretching a bit into the middle. Not long now... they thought. SumthinIForgotYoName the fox found a few men, armed with an array of items (one even had a cauldron on his head) went with him.
OOC: Lordy people! D'you mind letting me catch up before you start another page? Slow don a little!
BIC: Aryta gave a salute to show she'd heard and started waking everyone up, not too gently either. "Come on! It's time to leave. Puffer-head, take this group and look for the other beasts in the Abbey. Don't just stand there, go! You, What'syourname, take the rest and go! Get to the back wallgate. Hurry! I'm going to help find beasts. Tell them to go to the back wallgate, we have to leave." She issued, grabbing an Infirmary mouse. "Grab as many supplies as you can. You, help her. Bring the most essential herbs and tools. Be quick. Meet the others at the back wallgate. If I'm not there with the Abbess and others in an hours' time, just go into the woods, and send someone who can still fight to find Ervoyce or Vatra. Got it? Grab the arrows and the left over gear if you can, too!" The mouse nodded, and Arya took off. She ran into rooms, made sure they were empty and ran out again. She'd sent the most injured to the wallgate right away, and the ones who weren't hurt that bad went to find and alarm the pthers. She herself went and got Abbess Russina. "Abbess, I'm sorry to wake you, but we've got to leave the Abbey. Grab what you can and get to the back wallgate."
"Alright...Do you need anyone else to help find the others?"
Yes, but not you. If you get left behind by accident, we'll be in even more chaos. Just grab your stuff and get to that wallgate, and tell anyone you meet on the way." And so the news was spread, and everyone was by the gate in no time. Arya organized them in a single file line, and out they went. "Abbess. I'm going to look for Ervoyce, Zanga, or Vatra. There's a little clearing about half a mile that way. Get them there, and if I'm not there with one of them in an hours' time, then get to the old rock quarry. It's two mile past the clearing, keep order and keep them silent."
"I don't like it, but I suppose you won't let someone else go instead?"
"No."
"Good luck Arya. Don't get killed, for pity's sake." Arya nodded, and went back in the abbey, pulling the door to. She fought her way up to the walltops with a dagger, and saw Ervoyce. She received a stab to her arm, but killed the one who stabbed her. She somehow managed to get to him and said, "I got them all out. Spread the word along the wall tops that it's time to go. And do NOT say a word about me fighting. I've been shooting arrows from the Infirmary window for an hour, then went for a long walk in the Abbey. It's not going to kill me fighting up here. I think. Behind you! Never mind. The rat sneaking up on you is dead now." Arya was out of breath, and every movement hurt, but she still managed to fight while waiting for Ervoyce's answer.
Yatar fought insanely on, battling foebeast above a main gate. Unfortunately, he was heavily outnumbered. Two foxes and a rat charged at he. Killing the first fox with a bolt from his crossbow, the groundhog hacked the second's head off. The rat rushed forward, and shoved Yatar over the edge of the wall, where he landed near the north-west corner.

Karataka fired a few bone arrows at the wallguards, but he was never a good shot and the projectiles missed hopelessly. He noticed several beasts had fallen from the walltops, and lumbered toward the nearest one, an odd creature dressed in a large cloak and hood. As the woliverine came closer, Yatar sprung up and fired the bolt that he had been loading in the crossbow he still held. The sharp bolt thudded into Karataka's chest. Angered by the sudden burning pain, Karataka lifted Yatar by the scruff of his neck and flung him against the wall of the abbey.
"Actually, could you get everybeast off the wall tops? I want to leave a couple of presents for these hooligans." Knowing full well that Arya was capableof taking charge, Ervoyce jumped into an exceptionally large drift hanging on the side of the wall. After brushing the powdery fluff from his fur, the squirrel let his imaginative mind loose, "First things first, make sure we can get back in."
To the vermin outside, the following action would certainly seem unusual as Ervoyce lit the two side gates from the inside, couple of hours and they would be nothing but smoking ashes. With his prime objective already blazing, he turned to think about how else to make the vermin's stay miserable, "None of you shall taste our food without consequence, neither shall our drink wet your tongue." Thankfully, the Cellarhogs hadn't gotten the memo to leave, which made caving in the entrance to the cellars a piece of cake, and without moles, it would take days or even weeks to dig out the giant mass of rubble now in the way. The squirrel waited for the cook to finish gathering his supplies before mildly poisoning pretty much every food product in the kitchens.
OOC: Just to be safe, Ervoyce didn't use any lethal poisons, just diseases that will severely weaken anybeast that consumes them, and I was serious about the rubble, basically the entire hallway leading to the cellars was caved. (and yes, the Abbey has been known to keep some dangerous herbs and such like around. Outcast of Redwall)
Arya shook her head. "That squirrel! It's no wonder I like him." She shook her head, and battled her way around the walls. "Get off the walls! I'll cover you! Meet me by the wall gate at the back of the Abbey!" She'd repeated that a number of times, staying true to hr word and covering those she said it too. She looked like she was bathed in blood, both vermin and her own, and she still battled on. She fell into a sort of rage, not Bloodwrath, but something different. She started screaming in between covering others, "FOR MY FAMILY!!!!"Over and over.
The vermin walked in. The halls were saved in. "Hellgates!" Grund swore. "Grrrrr....." The abbey was almost useless now. He just wanted revenge...
Ooc: Dang, that was genius. No idea what to do now though...
OOC: He only caved in the way to the cellars.

Zanga was about to take the sword, when he heard a voice whisper, No, Zanga. Vatra needs it! You shall be provided with a different weapon.
Zanga shook his head, "Keep it, Martin said so." He then turned, and signalled Vatra to follow him. He still had the dagger he'd take from the rat. Although, it was more of a dirk, it was so long.
OOC: @HanNorwood, yeah I'd like that!

Jantar had been furious her victim had escaped. She had been planning on giving him to Grund. But she did still have his blood, the bowl hadn't spilled much, and there was a little left. She poured what was left into a little unsmashed bottle, and hurried off to find Grund. When she found him, he was entering Redwall Abbey. Jantar was overjoyed that they had taken the abbey, but furious when she saw what had been done. "Darn those pesky woodlands!" she snarled, looking at the damage.
Vatra Nodded surprised and took it back she then said "You still need a weapon her you can have this," She passed him her javelin, "It's name is Death Stinger,"
that was fast. Zamga thought, and took the javelin. "Thanks, now I guess we better be getting back to the Abbey. They'll be missing us."
Vatra turned in an ark as they where running and started back towards the abbey "How do we get back in" she asked. "It is all..." She stopped speaking when she saw the side gate hanging broken in is frame and the ladders deserted. "They are all in the abbey!"
Zanga was about to come, and look when he heard something. It sounded like breathing, quiet, steady, breathing. Behind him.
Ooc: Guys lets just remember, this is snow foxes and ermines, not rats and weasels. And is anyone still, in the abbey?
Bic: SumthinIForgotYoName burst in triumphantly. He looked to see Grund and Janyar and the horde angrily looking at the cellars. "What happened..." he was about to say, but he was silenced when Grund stabbed him deep through the heart. The vermin's frightened croaking echoed for a few seconds, before it all died with the ermine.
Vatra didn't wait for Zanga she ran for the abbey. The others might still be in there! She slowed as she reached the broken gate and she looked in to make sure the cost was clear. The snow was stained with blood and every where she looked she saw destruction the other gates where burning and gray smock flew into the air creating a dark cloud. Vatra hured some one coming and she lay down on the ground among the dead and stayed very still.
OOC: The person coming can be Ervoyce of Arya or just some randome vermin who will end up dead verry verry soon if they get any where near me. *Evil grins*. But I think it would be really cool if Vatra almost kills Ervoyce. ;D
@ Blaggut: I believe almost every one else is out maybe Arya or Ervoyce is still in there.
OOC: Blaggut, Arya is the last one leaving...I think.
BIC: When everyone had left, Arya killed the last fox on the walls, and ran as fast as her wounds would allow. She stopped a moment and put snow on the wounds, to help stop the bleeding. She started again, going slower. She thought she saw some beast going down, and sighed. She raised her dagger and gave a war cry, "AIII!! DEATH TO VERMIN!!" She started shuffling as fast as she could over there.
OOC: Who is it that Arya saw. Was that Vatra?
OOC: I'm thinking so...She just doesn't know it's Vatra, and thinks Vatra's a vermin. Hence the war cry and quick shuffling.
OOC: I'm still inside the building, but I'm busy preparing some other "presents." >:D BIC:
Ervoyce made a note of the rambunctious commotion down the stairs, he was currently pouring oil all over the dormitory stairs. The vermin would sure have a hard time changing floors. He had already managed to dead-bolt the majority of the dormitories themselves. The herbs from the Infirmary were hidden deep in the attic, and the library was now covered in hotroot pepper, not on the books themselves of course, but nobeast would enter without regretting it for the next 6 hours.
The squirrel was trying to come up with some other ways to bring the hurt, but if he waited much longer, the horde would find him, oil or not. He made his way quietly down the stairs and peeked around a doorway. Luckily for him, the aggressors were all still facing the cellars.
OOC: Here's some ideas!
Start a mutiny be pretended to be a horde beast, and get them fighting each other (I admit it; B.J. thought it up before I did)
Pour honey into the beds of the dormitories that aren't locked.
Smush the fruit in the Orchard (Then they have to go out for food, and they can post guards....)
OOC: It's Winter, fruit doesn't grow on trees right now. :P
OOC: There IS some fruit that grows in winter. I know, becuase I've had fruit grow in winter. Care to argue any more? *Gets frying pan* :P
Vatra heard yelling but she couldn't tell what was said she gripped the hit of the sword. she then leaped up yelling and swinging the sword over her head. she stopped stock still in midair. "Arya!"
The vermin heard noises upstairs. Grund told a captain and five of his vermin of his vermin to look for the beast.
Ooc: You couldn't have gotten EVERY REDWAlLeR out of the abbey that fast...
OOC: You couldn't have gotten all of your horde in that fast there for we are both even. Also Vatra and Arya are out side by a side gate. Not sure which one. probably the north one though. Boy do I like that gate. I don't think i have used any other gate yet.
Zanga gripped the javelin, Vatra had given him. He crept closer to the sound.
Ooc: I didn't instruct them, they just poured In cuz of curiosity. They redwallers are in every part of the building. I wanna slaughter!
OOC: You killed enough creatures already. And whether or not you told them to it would take the same amount of time.
OOC: Arya got everybody out, so their gone. You can kill, murder, and pillage later!

BIC: Arya stopped, astonished. "Vatra! You're alive!" She began shuffling over. "I'm surprised you recognized me with all this blood." She'd gotten to Vatra and was giving her a hug. Then swaying, "Oh...I didn't know you had a twin!" Then promptly fainted for the shock, pain, and loss of blood had taken it's toll.
"Vatra! You're alive! I'm surprised you recognized me with all this blood."
"That's the only reason I did recognize you. You are the only squirrel I know who would be running around in the abbey after it had been over run by vermin covered in blood," Vatra said over joyed that she was Ok.
"Oh...I didn't know you had a twin!"
"What? I d..." Vatra said puzzled then realization dawned on her. to late. Arya had slumped over unconscious in her arms. Vatra slowly laid her down. I need to get her out of sight. She carefully dragged her in to the forest among some bushes. Oh my clothes are getting punished. She thought ripping the hem of her cloak in to bandages and binding up some of Arya's worst wounds. Where was Ervoyce when you needed him.
OOC: Faiy, it's "Clothes" Just thought you might want to know. The English language is too confusing.
BIC: Arya was a nightmare. If, that is, you thought that recounting your family's murder when you're Dibbun age and size a nightmare. Which Arya did.
"Alright Mama! I'll go find some berries for you!"
"Take your time, Little Arya. Remember to leave some on the bush!" She heard her Mama saying, the last words her Mama ever spoke to her. Laughing, dancing, calling, "Mama! I found-" Standing shell shocked at the scene of the little grove she'd called home ever since she was born. Blood everywhere, Mama and Daddy and little Alonzo, just laying there. They never woke up, no matter how long she called and cried, or tugged them, they never woke up. Tears streaming down her face, she finally sat down and waited. Hours passed, and she'd eaten all the berries her Mama had told her to get, and she was hungry. But she didn't dare to leave, they might wake when she was gone and start worrying about her. Then it finally dawned on her. They would wake up. Alonzo wouldn't play hide and go seek with her ever again, Daddy wouldn't make little toys out wood for her any more, and Mama wouldn't sing her to sleep any more. She was alone. She curled up with her family one last time that night and buried them the next dawn. It was one very different little squirrel that bid them good bye and set off to find the vermin who had killed them than the little happy one who had gone to gather berries for her Mama to make a cake for her birthday cake the morning before.
Arya was burning up Vatra wet a clean cloth in the snow and dabbed it around her face and placed it on her forehead. Where is everyone? I was a worrier not a healer. I don't know what to do! I don't know what to do. Wake up oh pleas wake up.
Arya started calling out, "Mama! Mama! Why won't you wake up? Daddy? Alonzo? Wake up!! Please! I'm scared!" Exactly what she had said when she'd foud her family dead. She started thrashing, her arms searching.
Ervoyce was, at present, making his way back up the stairs. He remembered a couple of coils of rope lying in the attic, and with all the drifts mushed against the sides of the Abbey, he wouldn't need to get too close. The squirrel made his way carefully back up the stairs, making sure to not step on any of the oiled spots lest he give away his position AND give himself a headache.
"Arya, Arya wake up! It's Vatra, Your dreaming! Wake up!" Vatra yelled trying to make her hold still so she wouldn't hurt herself. I am hopeless. I cant do anything right. I don't know what to do! She thought She got up and backed away from Arya. I am no good. I came back and look what happened. I cant even help my friend. All I can do is destroy. she turned and ran.

BIC: Brokentooth heard the crunch of snow as Zanga moved towards him, whirling around, he swung his dagger.

OOC: Yes, but Zanga does get slight blood wrath, and beng reminded of the murder of his family is really gonna make it worse. ::)
BIC: Zanga felt the danger before he saw it, he had always been able to do this. He leapt forward, and did a front roll. Then came up into a crouch, his dirk raised, and the javelin in his paw by his side. "I hope they have the welcome mat rolled put, vermin. Cos Hell's about to greet another demon!"
He leapt at the ermine slicing the air with his dagger.
Yatar felt the air crushed out of him as he was thrown against the abbey wall. As Karataka lept forward to kill the groundhog for the last time, Yatar snatched the woliverine's claw, flipping himself towards his monster opponent's face and whipping his longsword out all in the same movement. The sword sunk into Karataka's lower cheek, tearing away flesh and fur.
Warm blood made the sword handle slippery, but Yatar's fingerless leather gloves prevented him losing control of the weapon. Karataka roared in blinding pain as he backed away, clutching at his head. With a wild howl, he charged at Yatar. Yatar realized two things at this second. One; The wolverine was in some sort of bloodwrath, similar to that of which some badgers possess. Two; If he couldn't fight the great beast in this condition. Using sharp reactions, he jumped out the way in the nick of time. Powdered snow exploded, giving Yatar a good cover as he ran toward Mossflower woods.
OOC: Just a heads up, I'm going to be gone from now until Evening on Sunday. See you then. :)
OOC: Really, Dan? No! We kinda need you....
BIC: Arya woke up suddenly, and sat up trying to remember what happened. There was Vatra, then maybe I fainted...And then the nightmare. "Vatra? VATRA!!" She called, needing a friend, or a hug, or something. Even if it was a vermin she'd gladly take it at this point. She needed to know she wasn't alone. She curled up in a ball and started sobbing. She felt her family's loss even more now, even though she'd thought she was finally over it.....It just didn't work that way. "VATRA?! PLEASE! I need a friend.." She called again, then gave up after waiting a moment. Maybe Vatra didn't really care....Maybe she was only pretending to be her friend, and somehow knew about what had happened. She curled up even tighter, not caring about the pain. She didn't really care about anything an more then.
"Vatra? VATRA!!"
She kept running I am just going to make things worse I cant do anything right. She thought.
"VATRA?! PLEASE! I need a friend.." Vatra stopped she heard the panic in her voice and realized that for once she had to get this right if nothing else she would be there for her friend. Vatra turned and ran back as fast as she could. I am coming I'm coming. She thought.
She ran back and dropped down into the snow next to Arya and hugged her close to her like she would never let go. "I promise, I promise never to do that to you again, I will be there for you, I will never desert my Friend again. We can fight them all off. Take back the abbey, together. Vatra and Arya the two mad squirrelmaid warrioresses. We'd make a good team,"

BIC: Stepping back as soon as the Otter had shouted at him, Brokentooth avoided the dagger by barely an inch. "Aye, but the demon won't be me" he shouted, swinging his dagger towards Zanga's head.
Zanga ducked, and slashed at his adversaries legs. "Oh, do ya have a twin sister then?" he jeered.
OOC: Sorry I didn't post yesterday - Grocery shopping. Bleck.
BIC: Arya started laughing and crying at the same time. "Alright...Heehee, we'd really be a pair! Now, if you can help me, we'd better get back to the others...Oof! Ow!" she said as she gave Vatra a hug then started trying to stand up. Then fell on her tail, which had the tip chopped off. "What is it with vermin chopping off the tip of my tail? At least regrows...Sort of." Arya said, examining the tail part in question.
Vatra put her arm under Arya to help her stand up "At least it's bushy. you can hardly tell. Where are the others?"
There's a clearing about half a mile from the back wallgate, going straight, and that's where they are, and I don't know where WE are, so if you can help me back over to the wallgate, I'll know the way from there. And it IS true that my tail's bushy...My last name proves that. My last names Bigtail...Or, according to my mother before.... Er, anyway, Softail, which I liked better.
"I know the place I'm glad you got everyone out," She said and then started off east helping Arya along.

Ervoyce had made it to the attic and found a good window to leave from. He was now fastening the variant sections of the replacement bell rope and utility lines that the moles really liked. He paused when he heard some sharp noises out the window, and was able to make out some faint figures over by one of the gates. They soon disapeared from view, giving the squirrel cause to believe that it would be Arya and some other beast given that a vermin would've come to the Abbey, "I'll be there soon my friends, don't you worry. Hope the door burnt down in time for them to get out."
Grund walks toward the bathroom. He hasnt taken a dump in 3 days.
Ooc: :P
"Aye. She's standing right behind yew." Responded Brokentooth, hoping to distract Zanga for a moment. As he shouted that, he felt Zanga's Dirk cut into his leg.
OOC: @Faiy and Corny: Can I somehow bump into you on the way the the evacuation point? I haven't interacted with anyone in, like, ages. :P
OOC: Sure. We are going pritty slow it would be easy to catch up with us and I could use some help. I can't carry Arya forever.
Zanga laughed, and brought his javelin down towards his foe's head, hoping to either, kill him, or knock him out. "I'm sorry, I didn't know your sister was a tree!"
Arya started getting dizzy again. "Can we stop for a minute? The world's going around in circles again." She said, hoping to be a little humorous.
OOC: They might see Zanga battling Brokentooth. Cos the battle is happening somewhere near the gate.
"Sure sit down," She said helping her sit down with her back against a tree.
"Thanks... Hey, is that Zanga battling someone over there?" Arya said, squinting. "Why don't you go check it out?"
Vatra looked up and saw Zanga threw the trees battling a vermin. "Zanga!" She said jumping up and running over to him with Martins sword at the ready.
Zanga barely heard her. He was to into what he was doing.
OOC: We need Han to post!!!!
Arya smiled, and then closed her eyes...Sleepy...No, can't sleep yet! Don't go to sleep, Arya! She thought, forcing her eyes open.
As the flames continued to devour the wall gates, Yatar half walked, half crawled through the snow-swept trees of Mossflower. Sudden flashes of pain lanced through his stomach where Karataka had punched him, and the injury was slowing him down tremendously. He lent against an ancient oak tree, trying to collect his thoughts. He had a wolverine blood on his paws. He could barely believed what had happened in the last few minutes. He winced as he remembered the tearing sensation as he had ripped part of the enemy's face off. He dearly wished to never sight that hideous creature again, but somehow, deep inside him, he knew they would meet again. Just as he was about to continue on his lost path, he heard something. A voice. As faint as it was, it was undoubtedly a voice. Creeping in the direction of the sound, he spotted two female squirrels, resting briefly against a tree. Moving faster now, he staggered into their view.
"A... a wolv... wolv... " he muttered, his voice weak. "Where are the others?" he managed to ask.
Vatra Turned at the sound of Yatar's voice. She looked at him and then back at Zanga. she then turned back and ran over to Yatar. "What's the matter?"
OOC: WHERE ARE YOU HAN!!!!
"Wolv? Do you mean...Wolverine? The others are in a clearing half a mile from that wallgate, going straight. Can you make it?" Arya asked, realization dawning on her. She started trying to look him over, afraid that the wolverine had dipped its claws in poison. They did that sometimes. At least that was what she'd heard.
Vatra got up. "You two get going I can handle this," She said taking to the trees and running at top speed back the way Yatar had come.
Grund sits on the toilet, his guards outsid engaging.
OOC: I'm really sorry, I've been really bust with school. Still am, actually, so this'll be short.
BIC: Brokentooth scowled as he saw another squirrel join the Otter. Deciding to flee, he first threw his knife at the Otter he'd been fighting. Without waiting to see the result, he turned and fled.
OOC: Zanga is an otter.
BIC: Zanga saw him take his enemy draw a knife, and dived for cover, but not in time. The knife thudded into his side. He screamed in pain, and hit the snow. He couldn't move, he just lay there, watching the snow around him turn red. His vision blurred, but he was sure he could see Arya. He tried to call out to her, but was not able to. He began to drift into a inky blackness, where there was no pain.
Inside one of the still-burning side entrances of the abbey wall, Karataka leaned., nursing his blood face. It felt like somebeast had set fire to it, and he slurred curses as the blood mixed with saliva in his mouth. How had he been taken by surprise by that strange creature? Two ermine guards stood by him, shuffling their paws, unsure of what to do.
OOC: That is one short horrible post, but I g2g. :-\
Vatra bounded threw the trees till she saw him the whole time thinking awful thoughts building up a rage in side her. So when she reached him she yelled out a battle cry leaping threw the air and taking a swipe and his head before landing on the ground feet first.
OOC: Faiy, it's not time. :(
OOC: I know. We are both going to come out of this alive. I am just giving them a head start. You will probably show up and do what you always do to distract me. Although I don't know if it will work this time. ;)

The guards heard more grunting, and a splash. Grund walked out of the bathroom, a smell wafting behind him. And no, he did not wipe.
Ooc: Why has no one laughed yet! KMON! ???
OOC: Because it's simply not funny.
OOC: It is just gross and shouldn't be in a RP. I DON'T WANT TO KNOW!
Jantar was sorting out what to do about the mess. She had ordered a group of the horde to search the abbey to see if any of the woodlanders were still hiding somewhere, she had ordered a group to dig out the hall way, and another group to go, and guard, and try to make a makeshift barricade in the burned out wall gates. The daubery inside the Abbey was being used to do that. In fact everything was going really well until the search parties tried to climb the stairs. I'll let you imagine what happened, and what Jantar screamed at them. :)
OOC: Can I NOT take a day off to go see my four month old niece? And Blaggut? That's gross...That might be a little funny, but it's gross. Try having one of his guards tickling him with a feather. THAT might be funny.
BIC: Arya saw Zanga collapse, and screeched while running over to him. "WHHHHYYYYY?!?!??" She got over there and, tiredness forgotten, knelt next to him. "Zanga? Can you hear me? You're going to be alright, just don't go to sleep1 Zanga!"
Zanga's eyes flickered, "Aray, I'm cold. I'm really cold. So cold...."
"Cold? Okay...Can you help me get you standing? We have to get to the others, even if we have to lean on each other the whle way!"
Zanga didn't know if he could even stand up, there was so much blood. It was slowly seeping out of his side. "I don't think I can stand. Aray, please, go, and get help. I can't even stand let alone walk.Just please get help."

Jantar was sorting out what to do about the mess. She had ordered a group of the horde to search the abbey to see if any of the woodlanders were still hiding somewhere, she had ordered a group to dig out the hall way, and another group to go, and guard, and try to make a makeshift barricade in the burned out wall gates. The daubery inside the Abbey was being used to do that. In fact everything was going really well until the search parties tried to climb the stairs. I'll let you imagine what happened, and what Jantar screamed at them. :)

Ervoyce chuckled to himself as he heard the chaos on the stairs. He used this time to descend from the window and drop into his previously selected drift.
Arya saw someone drop into a snowdrift, and when she looked closer she saw it was Ervoyce. "Ervoyce! Come here! You have to get help! The others are ibn a clearing half a mile straight from the back wallgate, and I can't get them. It would be too slow, and Zanga's bleeding too much. I'd never get back in time. You have to go!" Arya pleaded, shouting. She started frantically pressing snow against Zanga's side, and watched in horror as it turned red.
Ooc: That's what I get for trying to rise the boredom? So serious. A lot of what I've gotten in this RP is howtility. "You can't take the abbey" "That's gross" "Blah blah blah"
I'm just tryin to be nice, have fun, be realistic, and finish this RP. And it has to come out sometime! Maybe I should leave so you'll can toy with Grund, and make him, idk, die instantly? OOC: Blaggut, you are correct. You will get a lot of requests for you to leave after this. You have been at the center of every argument over this roleplay, you have power played (though you did turn it down quite a bit when asked) you have posted a series of vulgar things that SHOULD NOT be posted on a website where numerous kids can see it. I wish for you to leave. I hope this does not strain any possible friendship in the future, though I know this is unlikely .I will take control of Grund, unless someone else wishes to.
Also, on a totally unrelated note, fixed the errors with Zanga's species in my post, Rachel.

OOC: Don't, he dared you to take him out, and you called his bluff. RP's are fun, but they are easily ruined by a sour player. Blaggut has a LOT to learn about Roleplaying (and apparently Redwall cannon). Discipline is vital to a good RP, I've been part of these threads for years, and I can tell you it's just as important as the plot.
Ok, ill go. I did not know that was "vulgar".
OOC: Wow, I guess mine, and Blaggut's plan is out the window then. Unless whoever takes over Grund is willing to agree to the idea. :( Now I understand what Blaggut meant in his message.
BIC: Zanga groaned, all he could feel was pain, nothing computed anymore. Words didn't make sense, objects just looked like blurred colours. He could barely keep his eyes open, he wanted to speak, to tell Arya something, but it was just too much effort.
OOC: Cornflower, to stop Zanga dying, Arya should put pressure on the knife that is still inside him. I heard that's what you should do when someone has been stabbed.
