Do you find Abbot Mortimer's peacefulness good or annoying?

Well, you have to keep in mind that the Abbey of Redwall was a peaceful establishment. Martin built it for peace, and the only reason they fought was to defend and to keep the peace.

I didn't like him personally. He was too, anti-war? Now as Leatho said though, Redwall was a peaceful establishment so it wasn't meant for war though I did feel he wouldn't let them take action against the foe.

I don't think Mortimer being a pacifist makes him that annoying. But personally, I wouldn't have minded if the book included that scene from the TV series where he takes part in the battle, but is apologizing as he does so.  ;)
