Title: Redwall Stories
Post by: Mara the Wolf on May 06, 2021, 01:56:28 AM
Right, this isn't fanfiction, but something I've been wanting to try.

I wanna "Redwall-fy" stories, whether it be fairy tales like Little Red Riding Hood, or epic stories like Hamlet or The Lion King.

However, I've decided that you'll suggest what story I should adapt. However I will reject ideas if I have trouble adapting it, can't find sources, or simply don't want to touch the story.

Send suggestions, and I'll see if I can adapt the story.

The Lion King would be pretty cool

Alright, but don't expect musical numbers. I may ask a little help from a friend on this. I'll start soon.

Bambi would be neat, especially how humans are such a driving factor

It kind of is fanfiction? Taking the characters of one world and the plot of another (a fusion, it's usually called) isn't uncommon. Fairy tale AUs as well, daemon AUs are quite common. Maybe more so on Ao3 than ffn, although my favourite fusion is on ffn.

I second The Lion King.

I'd say that fairy tales and Disney movies are probably going to work well, generally. They're usually simpler (that is, generally clear distinctions between good and evil) and often have animals.

I meant my first post technically wasn't fanfiction. In all honesty, this thread is turning into the suggestion/discussion topic.

...I can try. I'm not familiar with Shakespeare outside of Romeo & Juliet.

That would honestly be pretty cool, not much thriller or suspense in Redwall, would be a nice twist

The first story is going to be an adaptation of The Lion King, followed by The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, and finally, The Lion Guard. I said I'd need to ask for help. The friend I asked said normally he'd jump all over this, but life's got in the way. So, I now ask one of you to help out whenever I need help. So, um...if one of you's willing, send a PM. Note, this is only for certain things here and there, and you'd be just helping occasionally. I've wanted to do a TLK adapt for forever, so I already have most things planned out.

@Tungro, well have you ever read the original Felix Salten novel(s)? They're both over on Project Gutenberg if you'd like to read.

I own both the original and sequel, having read them several times

I haven't forgotten or given up on this, just...one of my lazy spells has hit again (you know, when you have a week or two when you don't wanna really do anything?). I'll have something up by next week, promise.
