Ok, sound off you favorite song; album; artist, whatever. Then put your LEAST favorite one in.
My favorite is Imagine Dragon's Its Time.
Least favorite right now is Shake it Off. Can't stand Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift's not bad. While she may not be my favorite singer in he world, I still like her.
Hmm, my favorite artist is either Owl City or Approaching Nirvana, and while I AM a tween girl, I can. Not. Stand. Justin. Bieber.
I detest Justin Bieber both as a musician and as a person
My favourite song is either You're Gonna go Far Kid by The Offspring or Turn Off the Lights by Panic! At the Disco
My most likely favorite is Morning by Grieg.
Least favorite is anything that sounds Popish or rap, I HATE both. Although my most likely least favorite is Hey there Delilah, my parents had a good time pestering me with that a few years ago, it was a lot of fun.
Hey there Delilah
What's it like in New York city?
I'm a thousand miles away
But girl, tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Times Square can't shine as bright as you
I swear it's true
Hey there Delilah
Don't you worry about the distance
I'm right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice, it's my disguise
I'm by your side
>:D
Sorry, but the hate has worn off. It used to be deadly but now that it is not so stuck in my head that I make up odd lyrics that go with it, it isn't as bad.

I just love the song so I'm going to keep posting it

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me
Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me, girl
Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar
We'll have it good
We'll have the life we knew we would
My word is good

I might post some least favorite ones later.
I like and dislike a lot. Of recent songs I've heard come out, I like "Home" by Phillip Phillips, despite not much going on in the song lyrically. One I don't like hearing and its on country radio quite often is Dierk Bentley's "Drunk on a Plane".
I! HATE! THAT! SONGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!
It is so HORRIBLE! That and the song 'Beachin'' by Jake Owen.
Or that one song, what was it. . . "Rude". The blatant disrespect in that song is disgusting.
Yes.
Half of my musical listening is Christian, either praise or contemporary. The other half is rather eclectic -- typically a mix of 'New Age' instrumentals, video game music, and some Disney tracks. I also enjoy Christmas music, although I can get a little tired of it if I listen to it for too many months.
My least favorite artist is Madonna. I'm definitely not a fan of Justin Bieber either; I didn't like his music even when he seemed to be a fairly likable kid, and his becoming a hoodlum hasn't done anything to further endear me.
Macklemore... :D
and then I just dislike country music in general. Sorry, Tam.
Yeah, me too.
Probably my favorite song:

My favourite song is either You're Gonna go Far Kid by The Offspring or Turn Off the Lights by Panic! At the Disco
I love You're Gonna go Far Kid!
My favorite songs are probably
From Finner by
Of Monsters and Men or
I Palindrome I by
They Might be Giants.
I can't really pick a favorite because of how many I like. :D
Hmm... Well, I have favorites in different classes...
Probably my favorite song is... I don't know.
Jurassic Park Theme by John Williams is good... Then there is Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No. 9... William Tell Overture by Gioachino Rossini...
Well, I like classical music. Lets leave it at that.
Interesting, the comic William Tell Overture:
Oh yes. I am familiar with that... unfortunately. :P
Ok, I added a poll for your voting pleasure. What's your favorite genre?
(You can keep posting about specific artists and songs if you want.)
COUNTRY! :D
Indie. Although, if Celtic was up there, I would vote Celtic.
None of the above. I like classical/orchestral style music, but not in a truly classical style- things like this, (https://soundcloud.com/qtling/dark-heresy) this, (https://soundcloud.com/qtling/the-valor-of-tudagub) this, (https://soundcloud.com/foxtrotterx/nocturne-rollplay-d-d-04) and this. (https://soundcloud.com/spiderdeathy/rollplay-the-journey-so-far-hq) (Last one might have some profanity in it, seeing as it pulls/remixes lines from a youtube show that definitely has profanity in it.)
Sci-fi music is also good.
Rus, you should look up Machinimasound: they have some stuff you might consider sci-fi music.
Definitely Celtic! I made a Pandora station off of a Celtic group and so far there haven't been any dislikes.
Quote from: The Skarzs on October 17, 2014, 04:08:35 PM
Indie. Although, if Celtic was up there, I would vote Celtic.
What would "Indie" songs be like?
Independent genres. Look up No Copyright Sounds on YouTube; a lot of the music there is indie.
I see.
I actually really like some religious music(I know! Scandalous!), and Christian rock. Gospel songs are pretty, and Livin' on a Prayer is great. Hallelujah will forever be an amazing song, and one of my favorites.
But aside from that, I really like AgainTheSaga's stuff. She sings parodies for my current obsession: Twitch Plays Pokemon. A few of her songs have swearing in them, but not that many.
You are My Sunshine is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine.
Also I might listen to You are My Sunshine while writing any death scenes and bawl my eyes out.
As for hate...Well, I don't listen to enough music to really develop blistering hate for any songs or artists. I'm sure ten minutes on Youtube would change that.
Recently become obsessed with Demons by Imagine Dragons
When the days are cold
And the cards all fold
And the saints we see
Are all made of gold
When your dreams all fail
And the ones we hail
Are the worst of all
And the blood's run stale
I want to hide the truth
I want to shelter you
But with the beast inside
There's nowhere we can hide
No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come
This is my kingdom come
Who else voted country?
Wow same here jet.
When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
Don't get too close
It's dark inside
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
At the curtains call
It's the last of all
When the lights fade out
All the sinners crawl
So they dug your grave
And the masquerade
Will come calling out
At the mess you've made
Don't wanna let you down
But I am, hell bound
Though this is all for you
Don't wanna hide the truth
No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come
This is my kingdom come
When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
Don't get too close
It's dark inside
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
They say it's what you make
I say it's up to fate
It's woven in my soul
I need to let you go
Your eyes they shine so bright
I want to save that light
I can't escape this now
Unless you show me how
When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
Don't get too close
It's dark inside
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
I also love anything by Broadway Karkat and also Queen
I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouche, scaramouche! Will you do the fandango?
Thunderbolts and lightning
Very, very frightening me
Galileo, Galileo, Galileo figaro magnifico-o-o-o-o
I'm just a poor boy, nobody loves me
He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come, easy go, will you let me go?
Bismillah! No, we will not let you go. (Let him go!)
Bismillah! We will not let you go. (Let him go!)
Bismillah! We will not let you go. (Let me go!)
Will not let you go. (Let me go!)
Never, never let you go
Never let me go, oh.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Oh, mama mia, mama mia (Mama mia, let me go.)
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me, for me, for me.
I am a wizard.
I accident,y chose country, but meant classical and alternative as I like Indian, Classical, Symphony, Jazz, Celtic, And Bagpipes.
Blaggut did; he answered in the post above yours. :P
Yes, but there is another voter. Maybe Lutra.
Ah; I didn't notice that.
Mmhmm. I know Lutra said she heard the song Drunk on a plane but you don't need to be on the radio that long a time until you hear it. It is almost every other song is that one or the song "Beachin'" by Jake Owen.
Another song I really dislike?: Let It Go.
I liked the song...until it managed to demonically infest the minds of the inhabitants of all the Earth. Now it is tedious.

Well, a lot of the 'country' music they play on the radio is rather unlike the music actual 'country people' sing. Case in point, we have a friend who moved from Texas, and he was listening to the radio saying "What the. . . ?
This isn't country music."
Get my point? ;)
Some country music can be enjoyable to me, some sounds... Quite the inverse. It's highly subjective, really, that's the awful (wonderful?) thing about music.

There is a difference between

Not sure if your dressing Sam or just people in general. If the later is the case, then Imagine Dragon's, fun., Train, Nico & Vinz, Maroon 5.
If you were talking to Sam, pretend this post never happened. ;)
Birdhouse and Istanbul by They Might be Giants are pretty great
There's a picture opposite me
Of my primitive ancestry
Which stood on rocky shores and kept the beaches shipwreck free
Though I respect that a lot
I'd be fired if that were my job
After killing Jason off and countless screaming Argonauts
Bluebird of friendliness
Like guardian angels its always near
Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
TMBG are just generally a good band though
Maniac by Michael Sembello is cool. Also She's the Blade by Sugarcult and I'll Follow You into the Dark by Deathcab for Cutie
If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
I also have to mention Land of the Dead by Voltaire and Youth by Daughter, very different songs but whatever
In the land of the dead
Heck boy, ain't it grand?
I'm overlord of the underworld
Because I hold horror's hand
In the land of the dead
I'm darkside royalty
I'm far renowned in the underground
And you can't take that from me
And of course I have to mention the Vocaloids particularly the Vocaloid Eight Night series and The Immoral Memory by Len, Kaito and Gakupo
Turns out I love romance songs particularly the cheesy ones, who knew?
Some of my favourites are Fairytale by Alexander Rybak, Teenage Dream by Boyce Avenue, The Perfect Scene by Mercy Mercedes, Fall For You by Secondhand Serenade, Waiting For Superman by Daughtry, Headlock by Imogen Heap, Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol, Rhythm of Love by the Plain White T's, Hey There Delilah by the Plain White T's, Forever Yours by Alex Day, Lovesick Fool by The Cab, Little Talks by Of Monsters and Men, Please Don't Say You Love Me by Gabrielle Aplin, I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz and Angel With a Shotgun by The Cab
Scratch that, that's all my favourites out of the romancy ones I've heard. Yeah, I'm aware that a few of them aren't cheesy but the majority are

One of Train's songs sounds a lot like a song in the Phantom of the Opera.
I like Fall Out Boy and Macklemore (those are the two I listen to the most frequently), along with The Script.
We should make a Redwall Grooveshark playlist! (I have no idea what it'd have though xD)
Fall Out Boy are pretty cool, I've only heard Thrift Shop from Macklemore though so I can't really speak about him. From what I've heard, he's pretty good
Gotta say my favorite song right now is either Anchor-Tritonal (Noisestorm Remix) or Neutral Milk Hotel's- Holland 1945. My LEAST favorite song is......hold on a sec, this is kind of a hard choice....I guess I don't have a song I REALLY hate, but I don't like a lot of pop music.
I voted classical, but I do like some pop songs.
Got a long list of ex-lovers
They'll tell you I'm insane
But I've got a blank space, baby
And I'll write your name
Yep, Taylor Swift. There's just something about that song.
Gotta agree with the exes. Taylor Swift has turned into a nut. Seriously, someone dumps her, she writes mean songs about them.
That is why you should never date a singer. Sure, they can write you nice love songs in private, but when you break up with them their next hit song is going to be anti-you. ;) ;D
I have to admit, Blank Space is very well-written in terms of literary devices, diction, and style. Though, I'm not a huge fan of love songs. They're cool, and I like a few, but in my opinion there are many other important topics one can write a song about.
Anyway, I like instrumental and songs with words. I like songs that make you think.
Two songs that I really like are I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack and Heroes (We Could Be) by Alesso ft. Tove Lo because their messages actually mean something to me.
I also like songs that one can personally connect with...they mean even more.
I absolutely love it when there is a song that you can perfectly relate to and it is in a style you actually like. I listen to those songs over and over.

Am I the only one who hears "Starbucks lovers" instead of "ex-lovers"?
As far as what songs I like, right now it's "Budapest" by George Ezra, "Gold" by Imagine Dragons, and "Parachute (Serban Ghenea mix)" by Ingrid Michaelson
Lol at the Starbucks comment. But yeees, songs that feel like they are meant for you are something. Anyway, I love music in general. I can't decide between classical and rock though, for the poll.
I can't decide on a favorite song, but my favorite band is Skillet, a Christian rock group, and my favorite composer is Sean Patrick Hannifin, who writes fantasy-themed, modern classical music.
Quote from: Mhera on January 19, 2015, 04:21:24 AMAm I the only one who hears "Starbucks lovers" instead of "ex-lovers"?
Nope. For the longest time, I thought it said "The lovely Starbucks lovers." :P
Journey's End by Tommy Makem and Liam Clancy is a song that I really like, along with The Day of the Clipper by the same artist, also Red is the Rose also by Tommy Makem and Liam Clancy. ;D

Weird. I like both of those songs.
Favorite song(s): It changes all the time (like several times a day), but I'd have to say "Iris" by The Goo Goo Dolls or "I'm Still Here" by lead singer of said band or "Through The Fire" by Hawk Nelson or "Shiver" or "Prospekt's March/Poppyfields" by Coldplay right now
Least favorite song(s): "Jealous" by Nick Jonas. Not only are the lyrics really, really, stupid, it sounds HORRIBLE. And "Take Me to Church" by Hozier. I've only heard half of that song once but the lyrics have a super offensive meaning (no cussing as I can recall but they're meaning is extremely disturbing)
For the poll I put Alternative

Ha, I knew what you two are talking about now! ;D
Anyway, I just got hooked on this piece called
La Flute de Pan by Jules Mouquet. I imagine one can easily pinpoint what genre of music it fits under. I'm playing the first movement for a competition, and started looking at the other two. Such a beautiful, WONDERFUL piece. I'm sorry if I sound obsessed but it's
so good. I'm also playing
Concerto in C Major by Vivaldi on piccolo (first movement), and I also like the whole piece.
So you knew something in the present yet in the past?! How is this possible?! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Wow okay so at first I avoided Take me to Church like the plague because it sounded like the cheesiest Christian song of all time (nothing against Christian music, just not my cup of tea) now I'm going to avoid it like the plague because it's a terrible song
I'm currently having another wave of love for PhemieC's music which I think a lot of people on here would like even if they don't understand it. My favourites of hers are Our Aftermath (below), Friendleader, Ugly Story, A Confession and The Gods Must be Lying
You were called like a curtain
Split like a second
Broken like a sword
Stuck in a rock
Forged for a hero
Birthed forth for a heart
Much purer than his, mine, ours
It's uncertain when the tables turned
But when all of your brothers have given their lives
For the strife you've earned
You will get burned
And it won't get better put on ice
And I wasn't going anywhere fast
And my sister said she'd seen the end of my path
The direction that I fly
Straight through the eye of our aftermath
And you have to ignore it
Don't think about before
You've got enough fight inside
To fill five world wars
It's just a game
Just another cause
You're a switch and I'm a cog
And the last thing we need is another broken clock
So forget about your ghost limbs
And all those things that scared you most as a child of twelve
You see I'm thirteen now
And if I die for the thousandth time
I'm unafraid for I outnumber Hell
And I wasn't going anywhere good
So I straightened my glasses and I did what I could
What I had to
But [darn] it's hard not to look back at the time
And I wasn't going anywhere fast
So I said goodbye to walking my own path
The direction that I fly
Straight through the eye of our aftermath
What makes us who we are? Is it our bones?
Wrapped in all our scars, they're ours alone
They outweigh tails and talons, feathers, foam
Unless they're not, unless they don't
You were called like a curtain
Split like a second
Broken like a sword
Stuck in a rock
The music mentioned in this post has the potential to offend a lot of people but if it does, they're not listening to half of them properly. The ones he makes about religion carry a very heartfelt message though I will admit that he writes a few just for fun.
Okay so I know I just posted but I legitimately love Voltaire. It's not necessarily the content of the songs, it's just the way he does it. He sings about the darkest things possible in such a light and upbeat tone. For example, in the son Death, Death (Devil, Devil, Evil, Evil song), he sings about how he got beaten up by bullies and then basically laughed in their faces and continuing to sing his "Death, death, devil, devil, devil, devil, evil, evil, evil, evil songs" because "the world is full of jerks" and then in When You're Evil he just nails everything so perfectly
"While there's children to make sad
While there's candy to be had
While there's pockets left to pick
While there's grannies left to trip down the stairs
I'll be there
I'll be waiting 'round the corner
It's a game I'm glad I'm in it
'Cause there's one born every minute"
You really get the sense that he loves the evil he commits and relishes it. He sounds so totally sociopathic that it's unbelievable. And then there's Brains! when he plays the role of an alien meteor that wants to eat the brains of the citizens and to convince the person he landed in front of he breaks into an impromptu song. And then there's In the Land of the Dead which is perfection.
"A Minotaur's my butler, a cyclops my valet
A centaur draws my chariot that takes me down the way
Through a river made of fire
To a street that's paved with bones
I got a dozen zombie skeletons to walk me to my throne"
A lot of people would consider his music to be deranged, horrifying or even downright sinful. He does of course do some nice stuff, well not nice, but less horrifying things, in the song Feathery Wings he takes the role of a fallen angel lamenting on his choices and watching humanity deteriorating and attempting to earn back his wings. Then again, in Almost Human, he takes the role of Satan sitting in Hell, reflecting on what he has done, thinking of himself as a child who's gone astray and adamantly trying to convince the listeners, and himself, that he's nearly human and by the end, descends into a spiral of rage and hate and bitterness. The first and last choruses show this, the first is:
"I'm just like you
Made by he
Despised by they
I am almost me
I'm nearly human, look at me
I am almost a human being"
With the last chorus being:
"I'm just like you!
Better than he!
To hell with they!
I'm almost me
I'm nearly human, look at me
I am almost a human being"
Which seems to suggest that he now thinks of everyone as being better than God. Then of course there's God Thinks which is a scathing commentary on those who use God's name for their own purposes, pretty much a less forgiving version of A Letter From God. And there's Hell in a Handbasket which pretty much sums up my feelings about the idea of Heaven, Hell and final judgement.
So yeah, in conclusion I think a lot of you would call him a heretic and a sinner and say he was eternally damned but his music is generally really thought-provoking
Do you miss The Christian Thread or something? :P
I agree with ya'll on Hozier. Not a great song to say the least, lyrics-wise or sound-wise.
I tend not to like most popular songs, but here are some that I do have in my phone.
Viva la Vida by Coldplay
Safe and Sound by Capital Cities
Pompeii by Bastille
Don't You Worry Child by Swedish House Mafia
It's Time by Imagine Dragons
Brave by Sara Bareilles

No, this is just one area in which it crosses over with music
I also love the parody song "Let it Go Videos" by the Nostalgia Critic (he remembers it so you don't have to)
Elsa: Let it Go videos
Elsa: Consuming the universe
NC: It's like Hakuna Matata
NC: Except a million-bajillion times worse!
NC: I don't care if you sing it so well (I don't care 'cause I sing it so well)
NC: You're not Idina Menzel (I'm like Idina Menzel)
Elsa: But wait, it gets better!
NC: Better? What do you mean better?
Elsa: Harsh winter weather will create a million memes
(NC: Oh come on, that's so old!)
Elsa: Costumes from this kid's movie will meet our crazy extremes
(NC: JESUS CHRIST IT'S DISNEY!)
Elsa: And at the Oscar's we'll push 'cause this stuff still sells
NC: The damn film's five months old, MOVE ON TO SOMETHING ELSE!
Elsa: Everything is awesome!
NC: Okay not that one
Elsa: Let It Go videos
NC: (I'm not crazy, this fad is getting lazy)
Elsa: Eating what's left of your brain
NC: (Turning what was a good song into 50 shades of wrong)
Elsa: Melodies so damn catchy
NC: (I don't care how your kid sings it, or even if she wings it)
Elsa: It'll drive your ear drums insane
NC: (I can't hear one more damn version, this song is a perversion)
Both: I don't care if it's just a trend
Both: It feels like there's no EEEEENNNNNDDDD!!!!!
NC: Send another, I'll drop you as a friend.
Uptown Funk.
Lol, Jet, that's pretty funny. And I like the line in Uptown Funk that goes, "Make a dragon want to retire, man" ;D
Anyway, did I mention that I really like Skillet? It's my favorite band! My style of music 8) It's Christian rock, which is so cool (Also, I'm the one person who voted for rock in the above poll). I want to share this song by Skillet called One Day Too Late. When I first listened to it last summer, I actually went and did something nice for someone. A small thing, but still, this song is really nice.
Tick tock hear the clock countdown
Wish the minute hand could be rewound
So much to do and so much I need to say
Will tomorrow be too late
Feel the moment slip into the past
Like sand through an hourglass
In the madness I guess I just forget
To do all the things I said
Time passes by
Never thought I'd wind up
One step behind
Now I've made my mind up
Today I'm gonna try a little harder
Gonna make every minute last longer
Gonna learn to forgive and forget
Cause we don't have long, gonna make the most of it
(Today) Today I'm gonna love my enemies (today)
Reach out to somebody who needs me
Make a change, make the world a better place
Cause tomorrow could be one day too late
One day too late
One day too late
Tick tock hear my life pass by
I can't erase and I can't rewind
Of all the things I regret the most I do
Wish I'd spent more time with you
Here's my chance for a new beginning
I saved the best for a better ending
And in the end I'll make it up to you, you'll see
You'll get the very best of me
Time passes by
Never thought I'd wind up
One step behind
Now I've made my mind up
Today I'm gonna try a little harder
Gonna make every minute last longer
Gonna learn to forgive and forget
Cause we don't have long, gonna make the most of it
(Today) Today I'm gonna love my enemies (today)
Reach out to somebody who needs me
Make a change, make the world a better place
Cause tomorrow could be one day too late
One day too late
Your time is running out
You're never gonna get it back
So make the most of every moment
Stop saving the best for last
(Today) Today I'm gonna try a little harder (Today)
Gonna make every minute last longer
Gonna learn to forgive and forget
Cause we don't have long, gonna make the most of it
(Today) Today I'm gonna love my enemies (Today)
Reach out to somebody who needs me

I like both R&B and Rap/Hip-hop. I also listen to rock, pop some indie.

Lol, Jet, that's pretty funny. And I like the line in Uptown Funk that goes, "Make a dragon want to retire, man" ;D
Anyway, did I mention that I really like Skillet? It's my favorite band! My style of music 8) It's Christian rock, which is so cool (Also, I'm the one person who voted for rock in the above poll). I want to share this song by Skillet called One Day Too Late. When I first listened to it last summer, I actually went and did something nice for someone. A small thing, but still, this song is really nice.
Tick tock hear the clock countdown
Wish the minute hand could be rewound
So much to do and so much I need to say
Will tomorrow be too late
Feel the moment slip into the past
Like sand through an hourglass
In the madness I guess I just forget
To do all the things I said
Time passes by
Never thought I'd wind up
One step behind
Now I've made my mind up
Today I'm gonna try a little harder
Gonna make every minute last longer
Gonna learn to forgive and forget

I like them too! My favorite song by them is probably "Hero" I forget the title but something along those lines.
Yes, I think it's called Hero. I like that song.
I'm listening to Heaven and Hell by BrunuhVille right now. He is an amazing composer. His music is truly beautiful.
Okay so I've completely changed my mind about Take Me to Church, I misunderstood the message when I was just reading the lyrics but I feel really dirty for watching the video and the worst part is stuff like that does happen
My understanding of the lyrics are
mfahjafdkafdhdsaklfjadkdasfhSharpen your knifeafdhgfdakdhaffdjgkadjgajfkadsSHarpen your knifefjab nm etc.
It's about gay people and the video is set in Russia, I think that's all you need to come to a reasonable conclusion
Well. I watched it. I'm going to go smash my head against a wall for a while. WHY CAN'T EVERYONE JUST STOP HATING??!
I voted for Indie because I simply love Indie music. My favourite band is Vampire Weekend and I love everything they do. However, I also love Heavy Metal, Post-Grunge, Celtic rock, and Soundtrack (none were included in the poll - it's okay, you can't have everything). I do also listen to Christian now, since I'm learning more about contemporary Christian music at my new church. Everything else, to me, is simply either tolerable or intolerable.
fun. was my favorite band for a while, until Imagine Dragons really hit the scene. And fun. has sorta fallen off the face of the earth.
I love both Fun. and Imagine Dragons as well.
A few of my good friends are huge fans of Taylor Swift. They will often quote lyrics in conversation and frequently pull out their phones to play her music when they think things are getting too quiet. I've got nothing against her; I simply don't like her music. Now it's a source of amusement to them to play it loudly while I'm around, not because I loudly complain or make it into a huge deal but because they know how much I truly dislike it. It past the point of my asking nicely for them to turn it off, or even turn it down so I can carry on a conversation with someone else in the room without shouting, and reached the point a couple days ago where I'm actively trying to avoid spending time with them. Who knew something as silly as some awful country-pop songs could turn to this?
I know exactly what you mean. I used to like her music when it was country/pop and only semi-popular.
Now she's just completely nuts.
Classical. I play viola and love Rossini, Bach, Beethoven, and other old composers. However, certain songs I do like. Pete Rodriquez appeals to me as well. (at least some of his songs)
I like new music and pop, but I also love old music, particularly 1960s and 1970s music. The reason is because I was raised with both.
I can't stand late 90s and early 2000s music. There are some good ones, but not many.
For new songs, I like Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, although I don't think either are my FAVORITE but they are good IMO. I like Imagine Dragons and Maroon 5 and i don't understand the hate towards them. I love everything the played on the radio from 21 pilots. I never cared to much about Justin Bieber and I think his golden age was the 2015 to 2017 and maybe 2018. That's when I liked him most.
I love most EDM so the early 2010s had a lot for me, I love Avicii and The Chainsmokers (as musicians at least). Rihanna is pretty good, Bruno Mars is pretty good.
The only songs I HATE from the 2010s are any song by Lizzo. She seems like a cool person, but I hate her music.
As for 2020 songs... :P
Old songs wise, as I said, I love 1960s stuff like The Beatles, Beachboys, The Kinks, CCR and stuff like that. I love disco/groovy funk music from the 70s. I also love 70s rock such as Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Boston, The Ramones, Black Sabbath etc. I also love synths and stuff like that so I like Kraftwerk. I also really like The Cars, Squeeze, ABBA and 70s pop band like that. As for 80s, I like early 80s stuff like U2 and early rock songs from that time, but I don't like the cheesyness of the late 80s. I never liked Bon Jovi or Bryan Adams, although they have some pretty good songs once and awhile. I really like Journey because they are a fun cheesy, not a painful cheesy. I obviously love Michael Jackson and Queen, I mean how can you not. I will say i prefer 1970s Jackson and early 80s Jackson more than anything else he made afterwards. I like David Bowie, Hall and Oats, Take on Me and Photograph are two amazing songs, I like Eye of the Tiger, YMCA and the Final Countdown.
As for 90s, Nirvana and 1 in every 10 songs or so are pretty good. As for 2000s as well, I love Daft Punk and like Mr Brightside by The Killers.
So there you are, my opinion on music. I didn't hold back this time with how long this could be.
I don't know my least favorite, but my favorite is probably one of the many prog rock bands I listen to.
I dabble in quite literally everything, but my least favorites are probably metal and emo rock
I just don't like the vibe of emo rock.
The tunes can sometimes be good, but lyrics just make no sense.
Also, pop just sounds to me like it was meant to be and earworms and not sound good.
 Globgogabgolob song! >8( BTS butter.
Yes, the first Butter song wasn't that good, but I like their remix because it's hilarious. (Like when Jimin falls off the chair in the background. :giggle:)
I really like pop music, but it's so hard to find good pop songs these days...
Satire and comedy is a weirdly good genre - the likes of Bad Lip Reading, Cody Ko, Danny Gonzalez, etc
My favorite song: Eagles - Hotel California
I like classical, country and catholic music. Not a huge fan of a lot of pop and stuff, though I think there are some gems in basically every genre.
For me nothing beats 80's-00's rock

There's a dude who made Halloween parodies of various disco songs and they are wonderful.
love this one
Eagles -- Hotel California
ELO -- Mr. Blue Sky
Somebody on another forum introduced me to a Christian progressive Death metal band and it is so wild.
Oh cool! My mom likes those.
Progressive christian death metal bands?
Quote from: Flib Bigboat on May 09, 2023, 08:22:23 PMOh cool! My mom likes those.
Wild! The one I've eben listening to is Becoming the Archetype, which ones does your mother listen to?
She was talking about it recently, and she mentioned Aletheian and Mortification. (She's a real fan of cute stuff like Hello Kitty and baby goats and things like that, and so I was surprised to hear that she also likes Christian death metal.)
The people I've met who are into death are some of the most wholesome people I have ever met, so I'm not surprised.

Well, she's not into death, just death metal music. My dad's fiance is into death, but she's also really fun so yeah. (Her engagement ring looks like it's made out of a bunch of tiny silver skulls, which is weird because it doesn't really look like an engagement ring.)
I love Bon Jovi -- It's my Life
ELO - Ticket To The Moon
