The Wiltuds

Who are the Wiltuds? Are they a clan of beasts? Are they just a large family so large many of them don't know each other? Are they a fantasy specific species of hedgehog (Erinaceinae Wiltud). Ok that last one probably isn't accurate but I have to go through all the options.

I don't know which one of these they are. What do you think?

But I don't know if they mean a "family clan" or a "clan clan" as in the name of the clan is Wiltud and it's not actually a last name.

maybe they started out as a family, but then just got so big, they just became like 3rd and 4th cousins, which isn't related really, or just both (just some thoughts
