There's no thread about what goes into a recipe itself, however, there is a Redwall cookbook which explains how to make the dishes read about in the book:

Well if you read it in the order they take place then things might make more sense.
I agree.

I'd say in chronological order (of events, not publishing), I wish I had read them that way the first time. but even if you were to read in any order at all, it'd still make sense. Mattimeo immediately after Redwall, but maybe not Redwall first. Just about any order is fine.

I read martin the warrior 1st then mossflower, leaged of luke, outcast of redwall, then mariel of redwall, bellmaker, and so on and so fourth until I goy to doomwyte  ;D

Ungatt Trunn

I'd say in the order of time that they took place (Up until Loamhedge, that is. After that, you can read the series in any order you want).

Life is too short to rush through it.

Gonff the Mousethief

I heard somewhere that Brian said he wanted pwople to read them in publication order so that they could figure it out themselves
I want the world of Tolkien,
The message of Lewis;
The adventure of Jacques,
And the heart of Milne.
But I want the originality of me.

I read Redwall first, and the rest in no particular order.

I'd say redwall, mattimeo, martin the warrior, mossflower, then anything else.

I'll try that then.
Wish me luck... ;D

Redwall, then Mattimeo, Martin the Warrior and Mossflower, then in no particular order Marlfox, Triss, The Long Patrol, Taggerung, and then whatever order you wish.

After reading the entire series, I would recommend this order,
Redwall
Mossflower
Martin the Warrior
Mattimeo
once these are finished I would read in chronological order (they aren't very connected, but some characters/deeds are mentioned from the past)

This is a very good list. (I wish I had had it when I first started the series.  :P)

Long live the RRR!

I think publication order works well because it shows the development of the series from when Jacques started writing the books to when he finished. But really so long as the direct sequels are read after their prior book it won't matter too much. I personally read them in whatever order I could get my hands on them. :P
Received mostly negative reviews.

Interesting. I read them in chronological order. (e.g the order they happened in in the Redwall world).
The following is a list of things to bring on holiday:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
42 ~ Seb's Humility ~ Seb's toothbrush ~ Seb's soul ~ Half a Plane ~ Your Toothbrush ~ A creeping anxiety every time you look at your toothbrush ~ Pure Terror every time you look at your toothbrush ~ Death every time you look at your toothbrush
I had to move everything off the list but the bare essentials to make way for this:
