This is basically an announcement since none of the mods are here to do it. THE OLD FORUM IS BACK UP!!! :DDDDD
Wheee! Thankfully I was able to be told about this back up forum through the old one. Though I think I'll wait until the old forum is rid of it's glitches and all.
Hopefully everyone joins this one too and we can make everything very confusing by keeping both forums active! ;D
Yay!!!

Sounds like a plan.
Now it's back down. Heh.
There is no humor in this good sir! ;D
If it's down for as long as it was last time.......
Then Blaggut will have to update his thread again... ;D
-I won't be able to post the next chapter in Jackie's Story.
-Nobody will be able to post in Crossover.
-I won't be able to post in Leagues to Legends.
-We won't be able to be in the Cellars... the real Cellars, not the Loamhedge Cellars.
-We're all gonna die.
;D
CROSSOVER!!
This being called Loamhedge is too perfect.
What happened? Does anyone know?
Anyway, I'm glad we still have this temp forum.
Gotta get messy before you can get clean sometimes.
But seriously, how are we going to fix this problem? We can't have the real forum crashing every month.
It may be a payment issue since it happened at the end of a month.
How can we get the webmaster to remember to pay every month?
Or some other solution?
I don't know. I wonder why it only became a problem now, after all these years.
Well, it could be that they are working on whatever caused the crash in the first place, if the first fix wasn't thorough. I am glad I found out about this, though. Now I'll have to go through and see all of what I missed...
So, what exactly is being done to get it back this time? And why is it only happening now when it's been fine for years?
^^^ What they all said
Is there any way a member could help?
Well, I suppose one could hack into the site and fix it that way, resulting in gratitude and a possible ban. :P
Just my two cents....
I don't know who exactly is in charge of the official domain, but there's a real issue if they can't keep making payments to keep the site up all of a sudden. Hopefully its nothing long term.
James, who runs the servers this forum is on? Can't say I know what a soopergrape is. :D
The forum is once again back.
Hooray!
It appears to be down again.
Maybe they're fixing it!
That'll be the day.
Hopefully so.
Maybe it's just having trouble with the server...?
It's a different error message this time, I believe. We really need to fix this situation... it's not convenient to have the forum go down on a monthly basis. I know there are people working to solve the problem, so I hope that goes well.
It just won't load in for me!
It says Server Error for me.
It's a black box for me.
Sometimes it does both. If I new tab it, nothing happens.
It's just blank for me on my phone. On the computer it's a server error message.
I really hope they fix this problem. :P
Seriously. Maybe we should just use this one permanently?
No!
^ Yeah, I don't want to give up on the original forum. There are too many memories!
I agree with Jukka.
I know, but it sure seems like its down more than its up now.
If we even had to consider switching to Loamhedge, the forum would need to go back up at least temporarily so people could move topics. A lot of stuff in the Fan Works and Roleplay boards are ONLY on the website, and I really don't like writing an entire story over again when I can't remember half of it.
I know that! I have work there too, remember.

In addition to that, the roleplaying board is something I really like and would hate to lose, even though this one has a board for it. I just don't have any ideas to do any RPs on here.

I agree with Jukka.
I think what you
really mean is Crossover 2.
I mean all the posts there :P
Plus, the RAFF is supposed to start on Feb 1, but that probably isn't going to happen on time. All the works entered were on Redwall, too.

do you move topics?
I don't want to switch to Loamhedge, but I mean if I
had to...
Every site has server problems now and again. They're trying to fix it, let's just be patient.
Copy and paste. Course, something as big as your RP would take forever to copy.
Not if you print it first. Should be pretty easy that way. ;)
good idea.
*gets out a flashdrive*
Okay, when the forum comes back up I shall save my RP! ;)
Good idea ;)
That's what I've been doing. But the site went down and there's still over eighty pages not saved. :'(
Is there any word on the current situation from RedwallAbbey?
None.
:'(
Tried to email them, but they haven't replied. It's been four days.

I sent an email the very first time, when it was first doing the "Depreciated" thing on the top of the screen. Never got a reply, I think the email link on the website is for the store.
Ohh...
Hm. I hope it's back soon. I'm getting impatient. ::)
You and me both.
Patience young ones! ;D
Quiet, Grandpa! ;D
I found an old window I had open on my IPad of the old forum, and when it loaded I got this...
Spoiler
Apparently the home page of the forum is "not found".....
/me looks worried
Yeah, it's been like that for a while now.
If I find out that this was all a prank, I'm gonna scream.
I'm going to assume that the staff is doing what they can to work out the situation.
Honestly, if we are to move back to the original forum, we need a permanent solution. Not a temporary one.

I agree a hundred percent.
I've been seeing that message as well.
I feel kinda bad for not doing more to help get the old forum back. To be honest, I wasn't sure how to and I just figured that I could leave it in the hands of the Staff and anyone else (like Gonff) who was dealing with it.
I suppose that as long as it gets worked out, it doesn't matter if I wasn't the one who handled the problem.
Nevertheless, I'll be happy to help if I'm just told how (and yes, I know about the letter already).

Hey, I feel the same. There's a limit to how much each of us can do, and there are plenty of other ways to make a difference.
I just wish there was a way we could move a lot of important topics over to here somehow, even if the forum is down.

You're right, Sage. Thank you :)
I wish I could do more but I'm afraid I'm a little unless in this area. I asked my dad if he could help but he doesn't have that kind of computer experience.
Any new news?

You want to give me a heart attack, don't you Ash?
...
...Ash... :P
My initial thought was, "No! Now we have to go back to the old forum! I like it here!" ;D
8)
This just made me sad. :(
Y'know why? :(
All these new posts, it made me think that Inquisitor's post was also new. :(
I wonder what happened to Inquisitor? :-\
This calls for a new topic. A sad topic.
/me goes off to make a new post.
Not being on for a few months doesn't mean they won't come back ever...
Hello,
I hadn't visited the forums in quite a long time, so I missed the temp. crash and now I come back to find the forum gone. :'(
I've been snooping about as a guest reading everything I could and trying to log in as my original user, but I suppose y'all had to make new accounts as well? I never knew about this backup forum, but I'm so glad it's here!
Does anyone know anything new? Has the Webmaster been contacted? I'm ok with being here (though the old forum will be sorely missed) as long as the old info can be switched over somehow. Does anyone know if that will ever be possible yet?
Really heartbroken about this,
Winifred
This is a completely new forum, none of the old data is here, including usernames from there. At the moment, there is no way to transfer anything without the webmaster doing something about the other forum, and he/she is ignoring us. It's been almost a year since this happened without any contact from the webmaster, so at this point it's really looking like we're here for the long haul.
Hi Winifred!! It's good to see you again!
Saddly the old data is lost for now, but we still have many of the same people and traditions here. And are making more memories and gathering new fans, so I hope you stick around and join in the forum life! :)
If you don't check the news, here:

I don't know how to feel about this now...
I know, right? I mean, we have the old forum back up, but this one has been pretty much a copy of it, and the only thing different, really, is the information in it. It's a copy.
So what happens? Do we take what we want from the old forum and bring it here, our new home, which we have settled into, or do we move back?
Ach!
Bugzez. Beautiful.
Firstly, there's no formatting.
Secondly, I can only get there from the link in the announcements. The forum tab on the website doesn't work.
Pictures attached. Or not. The second one is too big.
^Same with access; but I think they're working on the bugs. Matthias said "it's an ongoing process."
I'm ecstatic to have the old forum and all of those old topics back, there are so many good memories, but at this point I've been on this forum longer and have been more active here. The LAF is also cleaner, better developed, the administrator is reachable, and I trust it not to go screwy. This is pretty much home now. We were forced to turn away from the old forum and move here, and I don't plan to take what's happened here and move it all back there. I'll stay semi-active on both, but this is my forum, though I haven't been very active lately anyway.
I just don't want the forums to be split completely apart. Given the activity on here, I feel this may become the main forum. However, the older members will still want to stick around the old one, I'm sure, partly because of nostalgia and also because they may not want to go through the trouble of moving topics back here. (Though I'm still going to do that.)
I have a message from Sierra. RAF webmaster Steven is working on the entire site, and the graphical-back-ups should be installed very soon, restoring the forum's layout to what it used to be before it went down.
Also, the forum name changed from "Redwall Abbey Forum" to "Redwall Abbey FAN Forum". The forum officially belongs to the community now; it is hosted independently from the main RedwallAbbey.com site. While the RedwallAbbey.com webmaster is technically still in charge, he would rather leave the forum to the community.
Wow... this is weird now. I'm so, so, sooo excited to see the old forum back up!!!! But at the same time...
James has done a spectacular job with the Loamhedge Forum. I feel like if I try to split myself between the two sites, I'll just wind up being on one more than the other. Not really sure what to do here - I mean, the original goal for this forum was a temporary fix, nothing ever was supposed to be permanent... right?
James has a plan to merge the forums, it might not end up as a problem.
WOO! :D
