Have you ever come up with an idea for a book?
I don't think I could ever come up with an idea for an entire book. However, I have written a few "alternate" versions of instances in which characters make different decisions, etc.
I've also always wondered what would happen if humans discovered
Redwall, or something equally surreal. But obviously this could never happen; it would be like going to a funeral on Christmas.
I'd hate it if humans came
I came up with one about Samkim and Arula ( Salamandastron)
When they have to go on a journey to kill Martin the Warrior's evil rat cousin Zlang the Undefeated
But then they get trapped in a cave with 7 snakes and they find Tim Churchmouse whose been poisoned
It's a very bad story but it was all I could think of
and I didn't write it I just thought it

Cool! I think it's funny at the very least. You should write it!
If you do end up writing it, you should post it on the Redwall Fanfiction Board (http://www.redwallfanfiction.com/forum/).
The only story that I ever really worked on was called "If Rose Had Lived". It's around somewhere, unfinished.
An idea I had for a book was called "The Missing Saga", because I really really really wanted to know what happened between the books Salamandastron, and Redwall. I don't think we really know how many seasons time passed between those two books, it could've been one generation, or 20 generations.
[edit] Sorry, Salamandastron, not Outcast of Redwall, wow it's been a while.
I'll start writing it if people would like to read it
Nice idea Lady S
I was always confused between what happened during the books
My idea:Legend of Luke rewritten.
I'm actually working on a book length fanfiction of a rewritten version.
Synopsis: In the prologue, Vilu Daskar (a very young pirate) invades Luke's village and gets away with it.
In the first book, Vilu, now older, is now a pirate king (except he operates from the Goreleech, not Terramort/Sampetra) and uses sharks that are in his service to send bottled messages to other pirate ships which serve him. He sends some of his vermin to conquer Redwall. Martin goes on a quest after them while the Redwallers struggle to defeat the vermin offensive against the unfinished abbey. At the end of book 1 Martin discovers that shortly after departure from his caves, Luke became Vilu's prisoner and is still a prisoner on the Goreleech.
In book 2, Luke escapes and goes off on his own quest while Martin continues on his. At the end of book 2 they meet. In book 3 they work together to defeat Daskar.
This way it's all one story instead of 2 separate stories.
Good idea :)
Still prefer the original thought
I have an Idea, I think possibly, that martin has a son who of course, inherits the Legendary Sword of Luke the Warrior.
That's just an idea. ;)
Good again 8)
Of course, his son's name I wouldn't choose but, possibly another M name, like:
Martin Jr.
Mark
Manny ;D
Something like that.
How about Mathimius
What does o_O mean ???
Let me Google that for you (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=o_O)
I'm guessing it's good
Not everything has to be about Martin, how about a new hero?
I'm still thinking about one though. I'd really like there to be something like:
A rat who's a pirate at first, then his crew turns against him and he becomes a good guy.
Then, he finds Redwall. At first, no one trusts him, and he has to gain his trust by doing good deeds.
But after he is trusted, his former crew comes to Redwall and kills the abbot.
Then, the Redwallers nominate the rat ( Niskar ), to be the new abbot and some other Redwallers too.
Then, they cast a vote, and Niskar is elected.
After that, Niskar takes some warriors, and builds a boat.
Then, they set sail and hunt down the pirates. Then, they find the pirates and battle.
After the battle is over they go back to Redwall and celebrate.
And that is my idea. hope you like it! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Signed: Martins#1fan! ;)
And just to bounce of martins#1fan's idea of a good vermin, why not have a hare as a real baddie? I've had this idea in the waaaaay back of my mind - back where it's perpetually dark and killer dust bunnies battle with lint monsters - of a storyline that has a Long Patrol officer betraying the mountain to a bunch of bad guys and then leading his/her new hoarde of EVIL to conquer Redwall.
Evil hares = OH BABY! They make such fabulous good guys... the right character could make one heck of a bad guy, too, I'm sure! Woo~
Of course, such a deviation from the world of Redwall wouldn't really be Redwall, so. Just a silly idea from a silly fan!

I am actually working on a novel of my own at the moment;) passed the 10000 words mark just yesterday evening.
That could work though! Evil hares!
WOOOOOOOHOOOOO!
or how about an evil mole tyrant! 8)

Wow, now that would be weird. Still, I'm drawn to the idea with gross fascination...

Diggum the Slaver?

I think it would be a little weird, but also funny, since moles are already hilarious.
I make up Redwall stories too. One about Methuselah's mother. She went to the south cost to fight off an evil raccoon. She also befriends a golden eagle. There are twin hare Tippy (girl) and Tenny (boy). They all join up with a army to defeat the raccoon and her horde.
I also think, that there could be a squirrel turned bad.
Or even a shrew, not that there's a whole lot written about them.

That's a good idea! ;) you should totally write that story and try to get it published.
I would certainly read a story like that. ;D ;D ;D

No problem at all, I would really like to read it if you ever did publish it.
like i said in...i forgot wut thread it was lol but i wrote sumthing book/movie. it has the potential of both. but it would probly ruin veiws of redwall cause it has to do with a diff warrior rising tht is as good as martin was wich might srat arguments. so if i can find a twist to it i will keep it silent!
I never had any clear idea of a story, but I did have one about these squirrel swordfighters called the Stormblades who get their fortress burned by vermin, and go for help to Salamandastron, only to find that it's uner attack. I haven't really made up my mind about the vermin, and I had a hard time thinking up names. ???
I am currently writing a novel called "The Assassin Redeemed". It will most likely be finished in the next year or so. I'm still working out some kinks though. And I am writing a novella called "Cluny the Scourge's Sister: A Tale of Friendship." You can see it on the fanfic page.

I read that one about "If Rose had Lived"! I was surfing the web looking up random fanfics about redwall, and I happened across it. I thought it was really cool and suspensefull. You should keep writing it. 8)
@Lady Amber: The Assassin Redeemed sounds like an interesting read!
Also, instead of double posting you can just edit your last post to add any information you forgot to include.
I might write a story about Tammo's children one day...

Here's an idea, guys: Redwall conquers Salamandastron. How's that for weird, right? Plot twists! Intrigue! It'd never happen, but just think of it...!

If some vermin conquered Redwall, an' then used it as a base to conquer Salamandastron; then it might be possible.
Possibly... or a scenario where Salamandastron would need to conquer Redwall, say, if it'd already been taken over and fortified by vermin. That'd be interesting, too!
I was thinking of writing one about an otter who is the last of her Clan looking for revenge, kind of like Grath Longfletch in Pearls of Lutra, who gets to Redwall along the way, but I never really thought up a detailed plot.

Thanks! I don't know when it'll be finished though. It's not Redwall based, but it's cool. I'm still working out the kinks in the plot line though. Who knows? Unfortunately, unlike the late Mr. Jacques, I get writer's block every now and then. I'll try posting it when it's eventually done.
Book, no. Fanfiction, yes. Longest fanfiction I did was 30 pages (incidentally I wouldn't feel right posting it given all the death and destruction), longest original story I did was 50 pages (even though it was a mess).
Most of my ideas are either what-if scenarios (usually with time machines) or just killing off various characters to incite drama. Killing gets to be old after a while, so there's a few other ideas I've had in the past but never went through with:
- A raccoon going on his first date
- Two lifelong friends having one last meeting before one of them goes on a ferry and leaves forever
- Normal kid who sees himself and everyone else as anthro animals
- Sailor Squirrel and an evil llama
Sailor Squirrel and an evil llama? HAHAHAHAA! ;D ;D I WANT TO SEE THIS. SO, SO BAD.
You've just inspired me to write something like a hare on his first date. Or walk, whatever they called dates back then. Not that they existed. Sounds like it has the potential for a lot of laugh-out-loud moments... ;)
Well, Sailor Squirrel and a llama is not something I'm interested in writing. I was thinking about a Cromartie High School fanfiction as there's so little of it out there. So any ideas I mentioned are open for other people to explore and write about.
I'm under the impression these are ideas that people are either currently writing about or they're thinking over in their heads what would be interesting. This might be a good place to pick up writing ideas from. Good ideas are cheap. Actually following through and writing said stories is a different matter. Then again, there's thousands of Redwall fanfictions out there, so maybe a lot of ideas are being written into stories, who knows.
Zigh...juzt ztarted writin' the prologue fer me ztory today....zigh........
I've taken to writing about stoves, if they had a civilization across the galaxies. This would create an obvious strangeness, but I've written a short story to clarify how such a civilization could work.

Stoves??? Will it have something to do with Death-defying beavers?
