Ok I finally got my nerve up to make a Fan works topic for myself. I play the violin and I'm pretty good at it so I made a topic for what I play. I play alot of classical pieces and some other things but the main reason I posted thi topic here is because I know how to play some Redwall songs. I also know a few other themes which some of you may recognize. I will post what music I know and I'm not sure if I'll put videos up- I have to think on that. Anyway a list of themes I know how to play:
Song of the River (From the Redwall book Salamandastron): All of it
Martin Song (From the Redwall book Salamandastron): All of it
The Song of the Long Patrol (From the Redwall Book The Long Patrol):All of it
Pull boys Pull (From the Redwall book Salamandastron): All of it
If you Dare (From the redwall book The Long Patrol): Most of it
Brooky's song (From the Redwall Book Rakkety Tam) All of it
Heave Haul Away (From the Redwall Book Loamhedge) All of it
Dreamwork Dragons Theme: All of it
Ninjago Theme: Not so much
Daniel Boone Theme: All of it
Pirates of the Caribbean theme: He's a pirate: Just started working on it.
Canon in D: All of it
Canon Rock by Jerry C.: So Close!
The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit themes including:
Misty Mountains Cold (from the book The Hobbit): All of it
Song of the Lonely Mountain (From the book The Hobbit): Most of it
Eowyn's song (from the book The Lord of the Rings): All of it
The King of the Golden Hall (Rohan) (From the book The Lord of the Rings): All of it
Haldir's Lament (From the Book The Lord of the Rings): All of it
Concerning Hobbits (From the Book The Lord of the Rings): All of it
In Dreams (From the book The Lord of the Rings): Most of it
A Toast in the Shire (from the book The Lord of the Rings): Most of it
The Steward of Gondor (From the book The Lord of the Rings): Not much
Edge of Night (From the book The Lord of the Rings): Most of it
(Will be updated)
Wow. You can play a lot of songs!
Cool! What do you play them on?
You most have worked hard, well done. :)
@Uncatt he said he plays them on his violin.
Can ye perhaps post 'em? Or did you and my phone is stupid and won't load?
I've tried recording them and they don't turn out right. I'll try to get them on. It's actually not that hard to find out the music to the songs. I just sometimes pick them up. It also helps to listen to the songs because then I just start moving my fingers aroound in a pattern then I eventually get the song.
I also play Piano (Mostly All the Way), Guitar (Most of the Way), Mandolin (If you can play a violin you can play a Mandolin), Cello (I'm a beginner), and Banjo (One Song). A small bit of Ukelele could fit im there.
P.S. I updated the songs at the first post.

1.Thats Ungatt, Laddie Buck ;D. 2. I wasn't able to read the part of the violin because my computer wasn't working top-hole when I was reading Tam's post, in turn me not being able to read what instrument Tam plays :P.
Do you know how to play Pippin's song from The return of the King? I love that one.
I'm working on that one but I know alot of others!
I also play all these themes by ear which means I listen to them and then pick them up on the violin.
I now started listening to Pippin's song and I know it now!
I will also be posting videos (If you guys will like) as soon as I find a good recording device.

Of corse we would like to hear them!
Thank you! I'll try to find a good recording device then they should be up but it will take some time and effort to get up.
Does a moderator or anyone know if I can change this to a poll?
I think if you scroll up to the very top of this thread, there should be a row of options above your first post, like "reply," "notify," "send topic," etc. I think the second one (right after "reply") should be "+ poll." Once you click on that, you can go from there.
Yes thank you. Lily helped me with that too so thank you both!
OK I put a poll up to see which one I should upload first
Brooky's song!
It's tied!
I'm with Redwaller. Brooky's song!
The Song of the Misty Mountains! (AKA, Misty Mountains cold ;))

That's what I voted, too!
Alright, now I know an average of what I should do first. Now, I need to get a recording device...

For what? If you mean the music, I haven't made any yet but I am going to maybe put them on youtube and then on here.
If you dare! If you dare! If you dare! If you dare!
*post in huge purple letters here*
I might do that one but I'm not completely done with it.
Do Misty Mountains Cold! I LOVE that song!

I will try. I should have made this topic when I was actually ready to post music.
Out of curiosity, for the Redwall music is there an official "book" or did you have to figure them out by ear? I've tried to do a couple songs by ear on the piano but I wasn't very good. Oh, and I can play a bunch of those LoTR pieces too! (I think my piano teacher is getting a little sick of my obsession with LoTR songs.)

I figured the Redwall song out by ear. I started to do the LoTR songs by ear but then I got sheet music so now I can play them by sheet muic.

Really? How strange... ;D
So, have you figured out how you can record your songs, Tam?
Nae.... :'( :'( :'(
Do you have a camera of some sort? You could put a blank piece of paper in front of it or something if you want to be heard and not seen ;)
Alright I finally am able to get some music up! It is not of me playing it by myself but me with my symphony. I'll just tell you a bit about my symphony.
I play at the Suncoast Symphony Orchestra.(Click the link for the website: http://suncoastsymphony.org/index.html (http://suncoastsymphony.org/index.html)) Most of the musicians are older people. Actually, me and a friend of mine are the only people who are under the age of twenty and only about five others under the age of forty. We played recently at a Church and I am about to post a piece we just played.
I did not record this nor anyone else I know but I found that someone put it on youtube so I will post it here.
So here it is:
I am in the violin section towards the left but you probably can't see me because of a person's head blocking me :P. Anyway, I can't remember the name of this song (Classical songs have such terrible name I can't remember ::))
Oh Well, I hope you guys like it ;)
That sounded really good Tam!
Why thank you!
Good job! Thats your church your playing at, right?
Uh, No. That is at a church just not the one we go to.

Cool!
:) Thanks! :)
Have you figured out a way to record those songs, Tam?
Still haven't! I'll have some more music from my symphony up soon though!

I'll be sure to see it when its up.
I just had a concert with my symphony yesterday! It is all Christmas music though. I am going to put up a poll for which one you guys want me to put up first. I played 8 (or 9) different songs so I'll put 'em up on the poll.
You were able to record them, Tam?
Uh, yes. It is my symphony playing so it is not just me. My sister recorded them for me.

You can vote which one you want me to post.
New music! Sorry it's not Christmas music because I'm waiting for my sister to put it on Youtube but it is a song I played back in November that some other random person put on Youtube so here it is. The song is
Legende which has a solo violinist in it so the lady that is standing up is performing a solo. Here goes:
Looks great, Tam!! Once tried violin....I only "You Are My Sunshine," and "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"! Oh, there was a few others, but violin just wasn't my thing.....Dancing is! Maybe I should post a video of my dance, at recital time.
Awesome!
I'll be putting up Sleigh Ride and Jesu Joy of man's desiring soon! I'm resetting the poll now so you can vote any of the others now.
Here, I've voted.
THANK YOU!
I'm playing at my Symphony tonight and tomorrow! New poll up soon!
Have fun!
Thanks! It went very well! I have one more tonight and another next Sunday and then that will wrap up Series 2!
Here's the Christmas music y'all have been waiting for! These are only two of the ones I am going to have up and sorry because these are not the ones I wanted to put up first :P These two are Sleigh Ride and Carol of the Bells. The song Sleigh Ride though was not finished for my sister only recorded part of it with her not so good quality camera. Anyway, hope you like 'em! Here they are:
Sleigh Ride
Carol of the Bells
HAS ANYONE EVEN VIEWED THE MUSIC????????
Anyway, my symphonies went well, all three of them. I got some new music yesterday and now we're starting to practice for the April Concerts. And, to all you LOTR fans, For this upcoming concert, I am playing a medley of music from the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. ;D ;)
I listened/watched one. It's really good.
THANK YOU! Atleast someone viewed it.
Ahem, sorry. Let me just pause my Abney Park and...
Wow! That's really good! Carol of the Bells is a great song.
Come on! Only two votes!!!!!! VOTE PEOPLE!!!
I voted ;D I like Carol of the Bells. Good job ;D
Thanks! I've got more music coming maybe in a few minutes.....
I am depressed.. I played violin in 6th grade and was first chair. Then we moved, and the new middle school did not have an orchestra program. Now, I am in an orchestra at my high school that consists of a viola and three violins, and our viola player serves as our director. I am so rusty at playing, and my parents are too cheap to pay for lessons, and so am I.
There is my depressing story for the day.
Great job on the music, Tam!
Thanks!

It's the Overture from
Carmen. I had to look it up, too.
You all play some tough stuff! That's really impressive. And you sound good, too.
In those Christmas concert videos, are you the string player in the middle of that row where the camera's focused most of the time? I can't tell if that's your section or if those are violas...

Yes I think that's me though you can only see the back of my head :P ;D Anyway that is a nice song!
Well, sorry for not posting any videos. Youtube isn't working now for me. Hopefully some will be up soon.
That sounded like you had fun! :)
;D
*Editing*
Good news!
Now that I have a photobucket account, I can upload some of my symphony videos! :D
More music coming!
(BTW, if you have watched the movies Mission impossible, or Gladiator you will like what's coming!)
Good job
