Title: Wylder's Redwall Music
Post by: Wylder Treejumper on February 10, 2016, 12:14:05 AM
Hello, all! I've always loved Brian's wonderful songs, I thought it about time someone put them to usable music. As an added bonus, I might throw in a couple of original compositions ;)

Performances are a possible addition, though that depends. Provided audio is in the form of very-low quality midis, enough to get the tune, but off tempo and really ugly- sorry :P

Very nice! If I could hear black dots. . .

I could upload the midi files. They're kind of unattractive, but you'd get the melody, anyways.

Could you please make an alto version? I can't read treble. XD

You read alto cleff but not treble? That's weird. You must play viola.

Groddil, alto is trebel. XD Do you mean tenor or bass?

EDIT: @Wylder Treejumper : Like I said in the chat box, if you need someone to dig these I'd be willing to help. If you want it, that is. :P I'm sure you have a great voice yourself. Also, thanks for these. ^_^

Lol.

It's easier for me to read the notes when I can actually hear what the first note sounds like. And since I'm horrible at finding notes myself. . . Still, I got the feeling that the Seven Seasons Gone song is a bit sober, what with all the monotone. Is that how it sounds to anyone else?

No, it's alto/tenor, not alto/treble.

The four main voice ranges are Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass. Soprano, and Alto (and  sometimes Tenor) are on the treble clef, and Bass and Tenor are on the bass clef. I have no idea what you mean by alto/tenor or alto/treble. Maybe it's an instrument thing, and I'm just making myself look like an ignorant scrub. :P

I did up until last year. I don't anymore, but I can still read the music.

Could you please tell me the first note? Maybe from there I could try to plunk it out on the piano.

To which one? The Seven seasons gone starts with a B flat to an F and the Dann's travelling song starts with an A and B eighth note which leads into the F tonality.

These look cool, Pockets. It makes no sense to me, but I'll bet they sound really nice.

You can play them with a clarinet, right? These could be a fun project.

Absolutely. Although, for some reason I can't access Dann's Traveling Song... I'll have to reupload it.

I'll probably post a few more on here soon. I have at least one marching song with a tune all worked out. Thankfully, the songs are short and simple (and usually fairly repetitive), so composing a catchy tune is pretty easy. It's almost similar to writing folk songs.

Nice, it would be even better with cords.

All right, new upload! This one is Comin' Home, from the Triss. It took me FOREVER because of tricky rhythms, but I finally buckled down, and here it is. Not perfect, perhaps, but enough for you to get the idea.

Also: working on adding midi files so's you can hear them.
EDIT: Done! Audio now provided, albeit of a REALLY bad quality.

@Brinty: I don't know much about chords... I can see, but if anyone else wants to do it I'm fine!

Good job, Triss is one of my favorite books.

It's actually a really bad version, rhythmically- the song should fit neatly into 4/4, and it does when I sing it- but for some reason I couldn't make it work. I plan on releasing a revised version, once I can figure out what is wrong.

Well, coming back to this. I'll try to do more composition in the future. I'll have to redownload my composition software, at the least!

What software do you use?

Also, hi. You've been away.

MuseScore. And yeah, I'm in a sort of semi-retirement. I'm just... worn out. I've got a lot of things going on, important things, and I just don't have a lot of energy for this, anymore. I was even going to compete in the Extravaganza, but never got around to it. Oh, well. :-\
