Stephen Hawking was one of, if not the world's most famous scientist.

You'd recognise him easily, because he was almost entirely paralysed and could only move a select few muscles of his face, and spoke using a machine. Does that ring any bells?

I honestly do not comprehend how one can grow up in today's world and not know who Stephen Hawking is, purely because of his prevalence in the public consciousness. How one can exist without simply learning about Hawking through cultural osmosis baffles the mind.
