Ironbeak's "helmet"

Is it a helmet he wears in the TV series? I always just assumed his head feathers were gray, but fans acknowledge it as being a helmet, and that's the way he's been drawn in all devianart illustrations (including my avatar).

Then  again, though Redwall birds are never depicted or mentioned to be wearing clothing, they are occasionally depicted wearing accessories. King Bull wears a crown in the series, Mangiz wears his scarf, and Chibb the Robin wears a little hood in the illustrations

It sounds possible. Iornbeak probably wore a helmet to show his lofty position amongst the other birds in his army.
