Title: Mafia: All Aussie Adventures
Post by: Groddil on October 28, 2016, 12:00:40 AM
Gday, mates. Welcome to ANOTHER round of Mafia. You've all decided to go on a lovely holiday to the most dangerous place on Earth. Australia. Little do you know; however, that there are enemies among you...

The Rules
If you do not know the rules of Mafia, then here they are.
Mafia is a game in which one side, the Mafia is trying to kill all the Innocents until there are none left. However, the goal of the Innocents is to identify and execute the Mafia by voting them out. There are two stages of Mafia, Day, and Night. At nighttime, the Mafia choose one player to kill, but in the daytime all of the players find out who died the night before and the eliminated player's role, and vote for who they think is the Mafia, and may try to convince each other who is the Mafia, and who isn't. The person with the most votes is eliminated, and their role is revealed. This happens again and again until all of the Innocents are dead, or all the Mafia is executed.
There other some other roles, too.
The Doctor- an Innocent which each night, after the Mafia chooses who they will kill, they try to predict who was killed by the Mafia,  and whoever they pick is granted immunity from the Mafia that night. (The Doctor can choose himself, but cannot choose any player twice in a row).
The Detective- another Innocent that after the Mafia chooses their victim, can investigate a player who they suspect is the mafia, and the moderator will say if they are or not.
The Cupid- again, another Innocent that in the beginning of the game, chooses two "Lovers", who, if one of the "Lovers" die, the other will also die.
(Last one may or may not be in play depending on the number of players)
The Gunman- is an Innocent which assumes a normal role for most of the game. However, if he is killed, (by either vote or killed by Mafia) then he will choose a player who he thinks is the Mafia, and kill them.

There is also one other role...

I'm actually not good at the game, I've realised, so I will merely observe.

However, I would like a waiting list of hosts. There've got to be at least five people who've called games right?

Day/Night 0

You're starting to wish that you'd picked a better travel agent. When 11 Forumites decided to take a holiday to Australia, they weren't quite expected what would happen. Rather than living it up in a swanky hotel in the middle of Sydney, the Forumites soon found themselves in Darwin, the most "stereotypically Australian" city in the country. They, along with the 12th Forumite and Aussie native, Groddil, were roaring along the rivers and billabongs of Croc Country in a little tinnie, the sun starting to set behind them.
"How are there 12 of us plus luggage in this one tiny boat?" Says Chipster.
The Aussie shrugs.
"Who knows? Who cares? Woop, there's one?"
"One what?" asks Sagetip.
"A croc. Better hope he doesn't crunch the outboard."
Galli raises an eyebrow.
"A croc, eh? Sounds interesting."
The Aussie thwacks the crocodile, which had been steadily following them, over the head with a wrench.
"Have to come back and get 'im later. Nice dinner, that."
The Forumites chuckle nervously at this foreigner's strange antics. Little do they know that not everyone is as it seems. The corpses of a few of the real Forumites are still back in Darwin, shoved in the corner of a crocodile enclosure in the local zoo. In their place are ruthless, Backpacker-Murdering doppelgangers, hellbent on slaughtering the Forumites for no apparent reason other than moving along the plot. As the tinnie finally comes to a halt in one of the many canyons in the area, Groddil jumps into the warm, clear water.
"Nice place for a swim, this. If you don't mind sharin' it with the crocs."
He grabs a rope from the tinnie and ties it to a nearby tree.
"Out ya hop!"
The Aussie leads the other Forumites up to what could only be described as a shanty town. Several abandoned metal shacks adorn the plains at the exit to the canyon, and the Aussie twirls a keyring.
"Pick and choose, blokes an' sheilas. Two per cabin, but one group'll have to have three."
The Forumites soon allocate themselves to each cabin. Chipster and Gonff in one, Sagetip and Sandpaw in another, Rosie and Galli in another, Soren and Fatch in another, and Peony, Banya, and Brocktress crammed into the final cabin. The Aussie emerges from his own cabin, holding a rather unappetizing dinner.
"Kangaroo steak and grub fricassee, anyone?"
After dinner, which isn't as bad as you might think, Groddil suggests a game of Backpackers and Ivan Milats to keep you entertained.
"What is this game exactly?" Asks Banya.
"It's like Cops and Robbers, but AUSSIE!"
"Right... I don't like it." Says Brocktress.
"Oh, come on. It'll be fun!" Fatch retorts.

\///\\\/

It's long since turned night, and the Forumites have gone to sleep. But not all of them. The shadowy figures of the Evil Doppelgangers meet outside the shacks to begin putting their schemes into motion.
"A fine night, is it not?"
"Yes, but it could be better."
"Oh?"
"If only we were the only ones here."
"You speak the truth."
"Yes, but enough of this. Who must die first?"
"I have not thought of it."
"Perhaps our fellow Australian?"
"A good idea. Without him, the others will not be able to escape us. It will be easy to turn them against each other."
"How should it be done?"
"I have a good idea."
"Then you be the one to do it."
The Doppelganger nods, and silently slips away towards the Aussie's cabin. Fortunately, he had forgotten to lock his door. The Doppelganger scoffs at the crossbow, Katana, and fox mask hanging from the wall. An evil grin crosses their face as they retrieve the crossbow and shoot the Aussie right between the eyes. Tossing the murder weapon aside, they return to their cabin as if nothing had ever happened. The next morning, Peony, growing sick of waiting for breakfast, knocks on the Forumite's host's door. No response. The others gather around as she slowly pushes it open, revealing the gruesome sight. Almost immediately, Banya kicks the door.
"This isn't right. We're too far away from civilization. One of us had to have done it."
"Maybe we should do something." Says Fatch. "Find out who's behind it and make them pay."

It is now Day 1.

Yeah, I don't know how deeply to dig into the text. I'm already assuming there are about 3 maybe 4 doppelgangers, though the exact number is never stated. It's a good plot set-up, though; I'm liking the story.

Party with Peo and Tress, woot.

I saw a few things that could potentially be clues in the text, but I dunno if it would be wise to use them to lynch people. We honestly don't have enough information to just blindly select and hope to be right.

Galli raises an eyebrow.
"A croc, eh? Sounds interesting."
This could be a clue in sync with this.

Probably nothing, but its the best I can find.

So this has to be a clue of some sort, but I can't see it yet. Maybe the organization or something. Thoughts?

"What is this game exactly?" Asks Banya.
"It's like Cops and Robbers, but AUSSIE!"
"Right... I don't like it." Says Brocktress.
"Oh, come on. It'll be fun!" Fatch retorts.

Once again probably nothing, but it might be a clue about who would rather play cops and robbers. Notice Brocktress doesn't want to play, while Fatch does, this could mean a few things, like Brocktress doesn't like playing because she's a criminal and doesn't like pretending to catch criminals, or in contrast Fatch likes playing because he's a criminal and likes running from cops of any kind. Thoughts?

"Yes, but enough of this. Who must die first?"
"Perhaps our fellow Australian?"
"A good idea. Without him, the others will not be able to escape us. It will be easy to turn them against each other."

Who all playing are Australians? :P

"Maybe we should do something." Says Fatch. "Find out who's behind it and make them pay."

Once again Fatch comes up, and this time he's eager and kinda vicious. Not incriminating information sure, and I'm pretty sure he's not Australian. But that's really all I got out of the story.

There are 3 clues in this post. Pick who you're voting out.

Anyone else see anything from the story that might be a clue?

I believe the doppelgangers are Australian, so whoever the 'bad guy killer people' are, are Australian. Their real Forumite selves (American, Brit, what-have-you) were left to rot back in a croc enclosure in Darwin. So asking "Who's an Australian?" is like asking "Okay guys, who's a doppelganger?"

Crocodiles could be used later to kill one of us. The unusual interest could point to a darker motive.

"What is this game exactly?" Asks Banya.
"It's like Cops and Robbers, but AUSSIE!"
"Right... I don't like it." Says Brocktress.
"Oh, come on. It'll be fun!" Fatch retorts.

As said before it is difficult to discern whether or not being unexcited about the game would point to suspicion or whether excitement for the game is a clue.

Only ones at the cabins? Or maybe there's someone listening in on the group of doppelgangers.

I feel like the intense randomness of Australia could lead to a lot of fake clues, but most of y'all seem to be making sense with what you're pointing out. Unfortunately, it doesn't really point to anybody in particular.

Gyah!  Who ever thought a trip to Australia was a good idea?

Hmmm...it seems there are more than two mafia.  Also are we using the gunman?

Brocktress could be the doctor, if a clue gets reused from the previous mafia game.  But who is the mafia...I'll have to think about it.

That would give it away. But as for what it does, they get the following one-shot abilities:

You can heal one person once.
You can protect yourself from the Mafia once.
You can investigate one person (once).
You can role-block one person (once).

haha well your instinct is wrong. plus theres no proof? please dont vote me off the island first round just because you "have a hunch" and everybody just follows along :( use your heads guys. lets look at this together.

im hesitant to trust the shanty groupings. they seem too obvious to be helpful.
fatch being so eager about cops and robbers could be a pointing towards mafia, or even the fact that he "retorted" , which a word often associated with gunshots.
banya immediately kicked the door?? that line confuses me? shes mentioned a lot in the story, oddly enough.

That line is as least true to my personality. :D Odd, yeah, that some people don't have any dialogue at all, that we know of. I agree with Tress going with her instinct, whatever that is. When a suspect is dead, they either got what they deserved or they died for justice.

Hey G, what's the deadline on how long a 'day' lasts?

The mafia mentioned:

"It's a nice night"
"If only we were alone"

This makes me think the three person cabin contains the mafia. The possible explanation being that the mafia were up talking while the other member of their cabin was asleep in the same room.

As for me wanting to play a game - I'm always down for some fun! Of course I want to play cops and robbers! This isn't incriminating at all!

I'm not sure its wise to vote out Fatch just yet. Remember story clues are meant to throw us off the scent.... Still that is the same with everyone, maybe the mafia weren't ever mentioned in the story.

I'm not going to cast my vote yet, I kinda want to see where everyone stands before I do.

This is the fourth mafia game I play here.  In two of the previous ones, we voted out a vanilla townie in the first day.  In the other, we voted out the detective.

Honestly, we hardly have any clues so far.  If we vote out a mafia on the first day, it's more luck than anything else.

I'm kinda suspicious about Sandpaw considering how he's protecting Fatch, but I don't know.

Well, if you insist on voting based on behavior...

Aimless Gallivanter, you ma'am are doing a lot of finger pointing, posting and scrambling.  :)

This is odd, because I don't remember you playing like this previously when you weren't in a mafia role. What changed?

EDIT:

More importantly, I know who one of the clues refers to for sure, and it's not the mafia one. This means there are two clues that could possibly lead to the mafia left, since there were three total in the story.

The doppelgangers left the bodies in the crocodile pit, and Galli mentions being crocs being "interesting." Which is interesting, and possibly the second clue.

Also very importantly - I checked Who's Online and noticed that Sagetip and Brocktress were exchanging PMs. Previously when this happened, Soren and Delthion, both blue mafia, were caught and voted out. It's very possible they are both mafia.

I don't really think so.  When Søren and Delthion exchanged the messages, a night phase was going on.  Right now we're in the day phase, so the mafia have no special reason to talk to each other.

My first thought was that it might be a cabin pairing, but then why would they meet outside? The text specifically says they met outside the shacks. If it were a cabin grouping, they'd just stay in the cabin. So we have doppelgangers in two or more of the five shanties.

My Q:
Are we waiting for everyone to vote? Or is this like a game of Mafia one would play IRL, where a nomination needs only to be seconded for the accused to be put on the block and have to state their defense, and then a majority rule vote determines whether they're lynched or not? Just asking because I don't know how you do it here.

I guess three is a nice compromise between the overly-large four and the usual (and too easy) two.
I still suspect Fatch.  But I'm going to wait a little bit longer to vote for him.

I'm suspicious of everyone who hasn't posted, everyone who has posted and Fatch, ;) thing is we're making this decision entirely off of inconclusive clues. I don't think it will matter either way, but we should also consider the number of people who are remaining silent and in the shadows.

"Why would you want to make them pay, Fatch?" Says someone. "Sounds to me like you just want to make us kill each other. Make your job easier. Why are you doing this?"
"It wasn't me! I just don't want anyone else to die!"
"Ridiculous! If that's so, why do you want us to kill each other?"
The others began converging on Fatch, but the Forumite jumped into Groddil's cabin to escape their prying hands. He grabbed a cricket bat from a corner of the room and backed away from the others.
"Stay back! I'm innocent!"
The other Foruites continued to force their way to Fatch. He swung the cricket bat in desperation, slamming it against Peony's head. Skull cracked, she fell in a heap. DEAD! Soren grabbed Groddil's machete and swung it back, catching Fatch's cricket bat. While the two were distracted, Rosie circled around Fatch and kicked him to the ground. Soren freed the machete from the bat and brought it down onto Fatch's head. DEAD! The other Forumites, barely satisfied, returned to their rooms. Before they decided to sleep through the night; however, the possessions of the dead were investigated. Fatch's journal detailed many previous acts of Vigilantism, while Peony's were filled with strange tales that mostly consisted of shipping other members. As the Forumites started to settle down for the night, Banya quietly snuck out of the cabin. She saw three others speaking in hushed tones, but didn't care anymore. The detective trudged towards the nearby clifftop, notes in hand. She studied them, but her mind was too clouded to make any decisions. She felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Hello, Banya."
She turned around.
"You three. I suppose you're the ones that are behind this?"
One of the Backpacker Murderers nodded.
"I've spent so long trying to solve this. Not just what's happened here, but what you've done before. All these years... How many have died?"
"Not enough."
One of the Backpacker Murderer's compatriots handed them the cricket bat that had slain Peony. They stepped towards Banya.
"You know we can't let you live."
"I know."
She fell backwards, off the cliff.

DEAD!

Fatch, the Gunman, was lynched by the Tourists.
Peony, the Cupid, was murdered in RETRIBUTION! by the Gunman.
Banya, the Detective (and Fatch's cupid partner), committed suicide.
It is now Night 1.

Once again, it was night. The three backpacker murderers had vacated their cabins once again, and soon lounged around in their countryman's abandoned residence. Two of them clicked their drinks together, while the third was too engrossed in their project to join in the revelry. They had managed to scavenge parts from the Aussie's random junk, and was now putting the finishing touches on a strange device.
"What is it?"
"I call it a 'StrayaSprayer."
"A what?"
'You heard me. I've managed to use some of Australia's huge surplus of Uranium to create this radioactive laser. It'll knock somebody out in seconds, and then we have some fun!"
"I like it. Give it here."
The three Backpacker Murderers sneak out of Groddil's cabin, one of them clutching the 'StrayaSprayer. They slowly wind around the other cabins, until a Forumite stumbles, half-asleep, outside.
"Uh, so thirsty. Need more water."
Sandpaw staggers towards the water tank, barely keeping his eyes open. As he fills up his water bottle, a Backpacker Murderer presses the 'StrayaSprayer to the back of his head.
"Don't move. Don't say anything. Don't do anything."
Sandpaw does nothing, trying to figure out a plan of escape. The backpacker murderer fires the 'StrayaSprayer, which causes the unlucky Forumite to become extremely dizzy. He stumbles, collapsing in a heap.
"He'll live. Give me a hand to carry him."
The three Doppelgangers lug Sandpaw away from the shacks, to where a group of kangaroos are dozing quietly. Two hold a kanga down while the other stuffs Sandpaw into its pouch. He takes a needle and sews the pouch shut.
"Giddyup, Buttercup."
The kangaroo leaps six feet in the air, and bounds off over the plains, quickly becoming lost to sight. The backpacker murderers nod silently, and retreat back to their cabins.

It would not be for a while until Sandpaw met his demise. Several hours later, the kangaroo had finally slowed down near a billabong. It bent its head to drink, having not yet noticed Sandpaw had been dumped into its pouch. As the creature drank, it was being watched. A monster croc raised two menacing eyes above the water, and swam towards the kanga. The roo stared the crocodile. The crocodile stared at the roo. The croc leapt straight from the water, grabbing the unfortunate kanga. The prehistoric killer dragged its meal into the depths, Sandpaw and all.

DEAD!

Sandpaw, a Tourist, was killed by the Backpacker Murderers.
It is now Day 2.
There is 1 clue in this post. Vote!

Mate, I've seen kangas that are way taller than any person. I've seen a kanga that towers over me Dad, and he's nearly six foot. I've seen a kanga that was pretty small itself, but it's joey was the size of the average five year old. That monster kanga, you'd fit in it's pouch easily.

I'll put up a voting poll soon.
Title: Re: Mafia: All Aussie Adventures
Post by: LT Sandpaw on November 23, 2016, 08:43:49 PM

Nah, I don't think so. I mean we're talking a gargantuan kangaroo, and not only that but it would have to be a female, which are typically smaller then the males. Seeing as male red kangaroos are the largest, and they average 5 feet, I remain skeptical. Now the croc I don't doubt, those salty ones get massive, but the kangaroo, eh, not so much.

Now seriously, I do want to point out several other people wanted to start mafia games, so... Maybe vote.

Haha.
I wont argue your first hand experience, you've probably seen more kangaroos up close then I have. But according to Wiki the largest confirmed kangaroo was 6.9 feet tall, which would be taller then your father who I'm guess is just at six feet, but that's hardly large enough for me to ride on its back, much less carry in a pouch.

How tiny do you think I am? ;D

Of course story exaggeration isn't something I'd put past you. So maybe some doppelgangers could happen to run into a mutant roo large enough to carry me around. ;)

The storyline for this game is fun, but waiting for everyone to take their time voting and not having a regular, timed deadline for each day makes it drag on. Post by: Groddil on November 30, 2016, 04:50:02 AM
I'm bypassing this night phase, as Gonff has left. Although now that he's left and Galli's dead, today's vote doesn't matter as the Mafia have majority. So I'll just do whatever seems best for the story.

"It was her!" shouts one.
"No, it was him!" yells another.
Gonff calmly raises both hands.
"Guys, calm down. Nobody else should die today."
"She deserves it! She started this! We'll finish it!"
Despite Galli's resisting, the other Forumites, sans Gonff, drag her away.
"What should we do with her?"
"I have an idea. Take her to the water."
Many powerful hands grip the Forumite and carry her towards Groddil's tinnie. They throw her into the sparkling blue river. Even the crocs simply watched from the banks at what was about to happen. One of them started the outboard motor while the others pulled Galli, struggling harder than ever, towards the boat. They flicked the motor into forward and held the tinnie still, while one of them kicked Galli forward. Her head hit the propeller first, followed by the rest of her. The crocs slipped into the river to retrieve the now-headless, torn-up corpse. As they turned away, Gonff, still standing on the shore, clutched his chest. He mumbled something, then collapsed.
"My God... He's dead."
"Must have been a heart attack."
Someone dug through his suitcase that night, finding a lot of medical supplies. They tossed them in the river. Another investigated Galli's possessions. Aside from more crocodile souvenirs than the average tourist should possess, she seemed innocent.
Two of the survivors feared for their lives. The other three felt simple satisfaction, as they glanced back over their shoulder, at the rose-red waters that would soon claim the last of the foreigners.

That night was quite uneventful. While Chipster and Soren huddled fearfully in their own cabins, Sagetip, Rosie, and Brocktress lounged around in another scarfing down Vegemite.
"Hey," says Rosie. "I've got an idea."
"Yeah?" asks Brocktress. "Elaborate."
"Well, I reckon we should go grab Soren or Chipster and force-feed him Vegemite! That'd be fun, right?"
"Yeah, but I want to eat this Vegemite, not waste it on them." Sage rolls his eyes.
"Hmm, we'll do it tomorrow then. We convince them to kill one of the others tomorrow morning, then grab more Vegemite from Groddil's cabin and kill the survivor that night when he least expects it."
"Fine. You two should head back to your cabins and start packing up. We'll be out of here before the weekend, and we'll still get home before the servo closes. You have no idea how much I need a Chiko right now."
Rosie nods, and walks out. Before Brocktress leaves, Sage whispers in her ear.
"I've seen the way they look at Rosie. They're suspicious of her. I don't know why, but if they think we should kill her tomorrow, we have to go along. We have the numbers to win the majority vote, and overpower the other two, but if we defend Rosie, one of them might catch on, and run. I don't want to have to chase them down."
Brocktress nods, and disappears into the night.

The following morning, the five survivors emerge from their cabins, some more cheerful than others. They form in a circle, trading glares. Nobody speaks, they just... watch. Some with hatred, others with a mixture of defiance and fear. Finally, Chipster steps forward.
"It was Rosie. It had to have been. She's so suspicious. Too quiet. Never explains her reasoning. She needs to die."
Soren nodded in agreement. Rosie glared at him.
"HE's already admitted to being one of us!"
"Too obvious, don't you think? Except... what did you just say? One of 'us?' GET HER!"
Sagetip shrugs and grabs Rosie. She glances at Brocktress, hurt, but the other killer ignores her.
"What do we do with her?"
Soren points to Groddil's cabin.
"I took a walk yesterday. There's this weird cave behind Groddil's cabin. There's a ute in there, as well as a few cages. There's a dog, a kangaroo, and a few snakes locked up in there. We can shove her in there and let nature sort it out."
Brocktress grins.
"Good plan. Wish I'd thought of it."
They dragged Rosie into the cave. At the sight of them, a dog starts barking, and a loud hiss echoes through the cavern. Sagetip pulls open one cage, containing a kangaroo, and shoves Rosie inside. +Several punches and -several teeth later, she staggers straight out of the kangaroo cage and trips into the box containing several dangerous Aussie snakes. Chipster stares at her in horror while the others all file out of the cave. He averts his gaze from Rosie, and stares in awe at the ute. He tries the door. Locked. He had to find the keys.

It was night. Nobody could sleep, with their numbers steadily dwindling. Soren huddled in a corner with Peony's frying pan, hoping he wouldn't get killed next. Sagetip and Brocktress, having already raided Groddil's cabin, sat outside with a large jar of Vegemite. Chipster stared, terrified, out of his door. The two backpacker murderers nodded to each other, and Sagetip kicked open the door. Soren jumped to his feet, frying pan in hand, but before he could land a hit on his attacker, Brocktress hurled the Vegemite jar at him. It slammed into his face and shattered, sending glass and Yeast Spread everywhere. Sagetip tackled Soren to the ground and pinned him. Brocktress shoveled handfuls of Vegemite down Soren's throat until eventually, the Forumite passed out from lack of breath. Sagetip stomped on his neck and gave Brocktress a high five.
"Perfect. One to go. Shall we?"
Chipster, who had been watching the whole fiasco, panicked. He sprinted over to Groddil's cabin and snatched the Aussie's various keys, hanging on a wall. The two backpacker murderers kicked open his cabin's door.
"Not here."
"Find him!"
Chipster whimpered, and ran to the cave. He tried several keys before finally finding the correct one. He clambered into the ute and started it.
"Gotta get out, gotta get out."
His foot slammed on the accelerator. The ute shot out of the cave and took off across the plains. The backpacker murderers glared at the ute.
"He's getting away."
"Yes, he is."
"He'll get the word out."
"We can't let that happen, can we?"

A week later, on the tarmac of Darwin Airport, the sole survivor of the trip staggered towards his flight. Finally able to leave. As he went to step aboard, a security guard grabbed his arm.
"Hey, buddy. You're coming with me."
Chipster stared at the security guard.
"What's the matter, cat got your tongue?"
"Sagetip."
"Shh, be quiet. Come. With. Me."
Chipster gulped.

The Backpacker Murderers have wiped out the Tourists.

Anyone want to know what the clues were?

Quote from: Groddil on October 31, 2016, 09:24:37 AM"A croc. Better hope he doesn't crunch the outboard."
Galli raises an eyebrow.
"A croc, eh? Sounds interesting."

This clue was supposed to link Galli to the Croc Hunter Role (The one that has a bunch of One-Shot powers), but I stuffed up and made it way too obvious, which I why I never said what the one-Shotter role was called.

Quote from: Groddil on October 31, 2016, 09:24:37 AMThe Forumites soon allocate themselves to each cabin. Chipster and Gonff in one, Sagetip and Sandpaw in another, Rosie and Galli in another, Soren and Fatch in another, and Peony, Banya, and Brocktress crammed into the final cabin.

This was not a clue. The cabins reflected nothing.

Quote from: Groddil on October 31, 2016, 09:24:37 AM"It's like Cops and Robbers, but AUSSIE!"
"Right... I don't like it." Says Brocktress.
"Oh, come on. It'll be fun!" Fatch retorts.
Quote from: Groddil on October 31, 2016, 09:24:37 AM"Maybe we should do something." Says Fatch. "Find out who's behind it and make them pay."

These two clues show how Fatch was the vigilante (kind of obvious, as he's acting all bloodthirsty), and how Brocktress may have been a BM (as it stands to reason that the BMs would be uneasy about doing... Exactly what they're about to do, and blow their cover or something).

Quote from: Groddil on October 31, 2016, 09:24:37 AMAn evil grin crosses their face as they retrieve the crossbow and shoot the Aussie right between the eyes. Tossing the murder weapon aside, they return to their cabin as if nothing had ever happened.

Again, a subtle reference. Rosie has stated in the past that her weapon of choice on the forum is a crossbow. The BM uses a crossbow.

Quote from: Groddil on November 17, 2016, 06:30:50 AMTwo of them clicked their drinks together, while the third was too engrossed in their project to join in the revelry. They had managed to scavenge parts from the Aussie's random junk, and was now putting the finishing touches on a strange device.

Another subtle hint related to the actual member. Brocktress is responsible for the Redwall Character Creator, so she's creating something here.

Two of the survivors feared for their lives. The other three felt simple satisfaction, as they glanced back over their shoulder, at the rose-red waters that would soon claim the last of the foreigners.

I was going to have this be a clue to Rosie, to give Tourists a chance to win, but James reminded me that after Galli died (and Gonff was killed by default, although no matter who was killed that night the BM would have won anyway) there was no way for Tourists to win.

It's interesting how despite explicitly asking to be killed, I was still the last townie standing :D

Anyway, thanks for the exciting finale, Groddil ;)

So did Soren. Although you both died in the end, so that's what matters...

Or did you?

Yes. Yes you certainly did. You were thrown from the top of Uluru.
