Saw this on another forum and I thought it would be interesting enough to bring it here.
Basically, post about all the things you were certain of when you were a kid. Your wrong/strange interpretations on things.
- When I was a kid I thought my SEGA Genesis would be able to play NES games if I pushed them hard enough.
When I was a kid, I thought that I wanted to be an adult.
When I was a kid I thought naps were boring and pointless and wondered why anyone would ever want to take one.

When I was a kid, I thought "IGA" (as in the store) was a word, and asked what "an iga" is. My parents got really upset. ;D
When I was a kid I thought you won at chess by advancing all your pieces first.
When I was a kid I was convinced that the Allies landed in Norway instead of Normandy.
When I was a kid I thought that Abraham Lincoln was the second president.
When I was a kid I thought LotR was a super grown up movie that I would never get into.
When I was a kid, I thought that I would never want or need social interaction.
When I was a kid I thought that the clouds made noise when they moved. (Don't judge me)
When I was a kid I thought that books were a waste of time.

I also thought you couldn't scuba dive until you were eighteen, because Mum cooked up a lie to disguise the fact that (really) she thought it was just too expensive.

Not weight sensors, no. But lots of lights
are linked to weird electric sensors I don't understand. (Something about a big mass of steel on top of the sensor changes the way a circuit functions, thus alerting the light to the presence of a car. I think.) There

I had never heard of the name Benedict before, so I thought it was a word for "traitor". ('Cause Benedict was a traitor.) So when his wife called him Benedict I was confused and wondered why his own wife would call him a traitor. :P

Until...somewhat recently, I thought that automatic sliding doors (at Target and such) were controlled by a person whose job was to sit in the security room and watch the camera for when someone was walking towards the door, then press a button to open it.
Until a few weeks ago, I thought that shot glasses were called "shop glasses". I had never actually seen it written and it had always sounded like that was what people said. :P
Being fed with either American or British shows my entire early childhood, I thought I lived in one of those places until I was three :P
