Rose's death

Yeah.  The rest of the story just isn't the same without them.

The people that die have a lasting affect on they other characters and then they do things for them. Its a pretty good plot

Laterose or more comanly known as Rose of Noonvale died a heroic death saving Martin and she was not a warrior. But Felldoh died as a warrior for revenge and life and freedom

Which shouldn't have killed. Stupid way to go, you'd think she could take more than a crack on the head.

It could have killed her without too much trouble.  What if she had internal bleeding and bled out while she was unconscious?  That seems like the most likely option to me, but there are a couple things that could have happened.  You've got to understand that we (and by extension them) are pretty fragile things overall.  Strong too, but you might be surprised at how little it takes to kill someone.

It all depends on WHERE the hit is, and with the critical hit rate of these books, it's just inconcievable!
