I noticed looking around here that there was a very popular game, Corrupt-a-Wish. I read through it and it was funny, but it got me to wondering what a thread would be like that's about building people up and helping them to think positively, instead of tearing things down.
This game works the same way as the Corrupt-a-Wish game, but the other way around. You will post a bad circumstance, and the next person posts something about how it works out for the best. For example, if I say "My leg is broken", you might say that "It works out for the best. While recovering, your positive attitude inspires someone suffering from depression."
I know my description might not have been very good, but I hope we can all make this game work. :)
I'll start us off: I had to go down into a sewer. :(
(Ew. Why did you have to do that? You ok now? :-\)
But the icky experience built your courage. A few months later, when a group you're in had to do something uncomfortable, you were unfazed.
I have a stomachache :P
But the stomachache keeps you at home. Minutes after you should have left the house to do whatever you were going to do, a plane crashes into the street, narrowly missing your garage.
I lost my plane ticket.
Aye, but while you're searching for it, you come across some money you forgot you had. Later on, you choose to donate that money to a charity, helping save lives. :)
My favourite jacket has a stain.
edit: ach, autocorrect and its American spellings!
You didn't uncorrupt that circumstance. Nothing became better for me. I'm keeping the money, thank you very much.
You discover that the stain has always been there, but you just hadn't noticed it before. You return the jacket to the manufacturer, but rather than replace it, they give you an even nicer jacket, as yours is no longer in stock.
My PC explodes.
I'm so sorry. :(
Your computer explodes, almost setting your desk on fire, but you put it out, and the backup hard drive you had saved all of your data! Furthermore, the company that issued it gives you a free replacement with a better model, and recalls the parts that were used in your faulty construction, saving a lot of people their lives and money. Your experience worked out for good. :)
My ferret chewed up my papers for school.
Fortunately, said papers were just the practice exam, so you don't actually lose anything important.
I get shot in the chest.
But ze "bullet" vaz juzt a dart from a Dart Gun und bouncez 'armlezzly off ye.
A year or zae prior tae 'oigh zchool ah got me arm zlazhed by ze metal-razour piece o' a pencil-zharpener zat zome bloke 'ad removed from zaid pencil-zharpener.
Actually true.
Your arm acted like a hydra in that when it was wounded it doubled.
Is that a good thing?
I fell off my bed and started crying.
But tvaz tearz o' joy becauze ye landed on a pile o' pillovz!
Ah fell on a cactuz.
Drat
But through the intense pain you shrieked so loudly that you opened a fissure in the earth and found diamonds! ;D
I lost my right arm.
But you gained the ability to shape matter through equivalent exchange and alchemy.
I have to perform in front of a huge crowd and I have stage fright.
But then the huge crowd is actually just one person named Rocket Rodriguez.
I thought that Melanda MacBurl was a real person.
But I helped you see the light.
My internet is bad.
But then it has gained momentum.
I lost my way out through a dark forest.
But you had a flashlight, a map of the forest, a GPS, and a lot of batteries.
I have to go to school tomorrow. >:(
But you learn. ;D
I don't have fencing for two weeks after tomorrow.
But I challenge you to a real sword fight every day for the next two weeks because you made me learn and that doesn't help anything.
My dad is bad at cooking.
So he decides to take you to your favorite restaurant instead :3
I was stuck typing 8 hours of reports at work the other day :/
But then everyone LOVES your reports and you get paid a bunch.
My (ex) friend hit me with a pipe. :(
You then hit them with a hammer. Made of uru metal. And all your real friends comfort you. Or you go to the hospital and get lots of food delivered to you.
I have writer's block.
Type something random.

I have writer's block.
Instead of writing, you have a good time with friends and family.
Or you can fade into the world of books, living in a world not our own.
Either suits us.
But then you find out the suit is actually really comfortable and you get given a free voucher to have it cleaned whenever you want so it doesn't matter if it gets dirty.
I sprained my ankle.
Then you got pampered by your family for ages and got to eat ice cream. Lots and lots of icecream.
I cannot think of any good villain ideas for one of my stories.
So then your good characters go on a picnic beside a lake and one of them drowns. (It may not sound positive but, if your story needs a bit more drama, this will provide it. You could even create a character for the specific purpose of drowning him/her if you don't want to drown one of the main characters)
Chocolate prices are inflating.
*Hands teer a jetpack* Rob the shipment.
I drink too much.
So since you drink all of the time, you are never thirsty. (I guess it depends on the drink :P)
I'm a little behind on reviewing fanfics...
Because they're so interesting that you just want to keep reading.
While I was robbing the shipment, I got caught and now I have to spend several years in jail. (Please note, this didn't actually happen)

Oh. For a minute there...
Spoiler
;)
But while you were in jail, you finally realized that this wasn't you and changed your ways.
I have cancer... (Please note, I actually don't)
But you also know me and I tell my mum and she makes you some disgusting aloe stuff that makes you better!
The dude in the cell next to me is overdue for a shower. (please note, I'm still not in jail)
He gets one the day before you are released.
I fall behind on school projects.
There's a gas leak so you get a day off school.
I forgot my homework.
But you don't get called on to present it, so only you know.
My car does not start.
You're given a lift by a friend.
The bus is really late, and there's nobody to give me a lift to school.
That's because the bus driver called in sick, and they sent a replacement; as a result, everyone got to school a little later and no punishment was given.
I lost my wallet, and have to go someplace quick.
But the place you have to go doesn't require any money and is within walking distance of wherever you are.
I got a really cool idea for a story but I don't have time to write it.
I suppose it is left to me to uncorrupt the circumstance of somebody forgetting to post a new bad circumstance.
I have to go now so I can't.
While you're busy, you refine the story more, and get free time early because you got work out of the way. So now you can write an even better story.

I have to go now so I can't.
Fortunately someone else came in so you didn't have to.
I can't think of a corrupt circumstance.
Your imagination suddenly whirs into action, and not only can you now think of a circumstance, you can now write loads of awesome stories that you will share with us!
I don't have all the Redwall books. :(
Your parents give you all of them for your birthday.
A duck just bit my baby sibling's foot (Note, this did not actually happen).
Thankfully, it was a stuffed animal duck that you were playing with, and your sibling laughed uncontrollably.
I didn't get my homework done in time.
Because most of the rest of the class were having internet problems, you're given an extension.
I have eczema.
You have to play the part of a crocodile in a school play and the eczema is so bad that it looks like scales.
I'm going to miss tap class next week.
Sadly so do your friends, and you guys hamg out for the enrire day.
I'm falling behind in school
Because you've been learning heaps of other stuff that aren't part of your curriculum but will be very helpful to life.
My arm got chopped off in an accident at work and now I can't play the piano.
you didn't like playing the piano anyway, and it was due to a workplace accident, so now you get paid compensation for the rest of your life.
I got sentenced to 50 years in gaol for something I didn't do.
