What types of cars do you guys like? My personal favorite is the Chevy Camaro. Yellow, with racing stripes. (Can you see where I'm going here?)
I love the Jaguar
my fave is the bugati veron. but i would never buy it, even if i had enough money. for a practical vehicle, i would buy a toyota tacoma. (they are indestructible, pretty much. anybody watch the british top gear show?) the four seater version. my mom has one, if she doesnt get rid of it before i am old enough to drive, i want it XD.
EDIT: forget the veron. super fast, but i have no interest. honestly i would be scared to go 200 something miles an hour when i'm in control. it doesnt sound like the sort of thing i'd trust me with.
I HATE when people buy big pickup trucks and don't use them for work or hauling stuff. They're huge, take up all kinds of room, and frankly a lot of people don't drive them safely and they're so big they can do all kinds of damage when they get into accidents with people. Not to offend fans of pickups, but seriously some of them are enormous. I have no problem with two-seater small pickups.
I do like my Ford Fiesta because it's SO good on gas. I pay forty dollars to drive 400 miles.
My favorite cars though would be some classic ones (T-Birds, around '57) and the new Ford Mustangs in navy blue with the white stripe.
I love the porsche 911 turbo in yellow! It looks awesome!
I like anything practical, and gets me from point A to B. I'm not a huge fan of driving, but have to anyway. I have a 2011 Civic that suits me just fine. :)

our pickup is a small bed tacoman. four seater (or five) but its not one of those giant pickups. and it was bought for hauling large canvases around, although we use it all the time.

I meant mostly like when you see people driving about in enormous Ford F-350s and the like with double back wheels and all and the truck has clearly never been used for anything that would warrant any of that. As if it makes them more of a "working man" even though I know guys with them who haven't done a days physical work in their life.
yeah, the giant pickups are a little unnessecary... if u dont haul a trailer or something.
Ah, I forget which kind it is, but my grandfather has a gold pickup truck. It's a really nice Ford. He and my grandmother go camping pretty much every year in their trailer, so they need a truck. Our family had a contest on what we were going to name it, and my grandfather combined two names: The Golden Tool, and Odie (from Garfield). The Golden Odie was what he christened his truck (he likes naming his trucks after dogs. Example: His last truck, a red one, was named Clifford the Big Red Truck).
white race cars
Rather old topic but whem I saw it I couldn't resist bringing it up!
FORD AND TOYOTA FOREVER!
Ahem, yes I am a really strong ford and Toyota fan. Chevy's and Dodge's, Meh - I wouldn't want to buy a Chevy unless there were no more Toyota's or Ford's but Dodge's - I WOULD NEVER BUY A DODGE! Unless it had a cummins engine, then I might. My brother owns a Dodge 2500 with a crew cab and a normal bed. The best thing about it is it has a cummins engine! THOSE. ARE. THE. BEST! LOVE THEM! :D :D
Anyway I would want a Nice Ford F350 Powerstroke - Crew Cab - Long bed - with a 3 inch lift on it and possibly dooleys. Since I want to do a lot of towing when I'm older, I might need them.
Then I want a Ford Expedition as a family car. I love those things! ;D They don't look like a girly SUV but they do hold a lot of room and seats. Body style is also cool.
Then I want a Ford Mustang - Oh Yes! ;D Drive around town on Saturday and show off to the guys
Jk.
It would be a neat car to have though - Much better that the Dodge Charger and possibly the Camaro though the Camaro's are pretty cool. That would be my model car that I would work on and fix buying it not in a so good condition.
Then maybe a Toyota Tacoma or Tundra - Probably a Tacoma. That would be a small truck just for going places randomly or once my kids grow up that will be a nice small truck for them to start driving in. I like them because they have nice visibility and easy steering etc..
Then I might want a Hyundai or Honda. They're pretty good cars. Honda Civic's are pretty good. My grandfather owns one and he loves it. My sister Martin (Who actually got her drivers license recently) used the Honda civic to take the test in since she didn't want to drive our family's huge 15 passenger van to the test and fail with it as our friend who owns almost the same exact van, did.
After that I don't think I want many other cars/trucks. Maybe besides a motorcycle. Not one of those small, Japaneses sport bikes but a nice big Harley. Yes, that's it.
Well that's probably what I would want. Wow Long post ^^^
FORD AND TOYOTA WILL RULE!
Tacomen are indestructable.

^^^ Nice looking Honda ^^^
I in my opinion say I like the Civics a little bit more that the Accords but that is just my opinion.
I'm not that interested in cars nor drive, though I recognise that some look more appealing than others! I have to say I like the old-fashioned, top-less cars I occasionally see on the road - really cool to look at, really! Mini Coopers can be sweet and I like certain fancy Porsches and used to like Subaru Imprezas, etc.

No, I don't own a Toyota. But I do know people who do.
My family has a Chevy S-ten pickup, and a Chevy Blazer....You want specifics?
Nah, I'm good. If I would have been able to know what year those Toyota's that handles kept falling off were from, then I might have been ale to explain it. I like Toyota.

Classic cars, hands down! Bel Airs are really nice, but my absolute favorites are classic Mustangs. I got to rev the engine of my neighbor's '67. It was midnight blue and absolutely gorgeous. And my other neighbors are selling their Model A. *examines my completely empty piggy bank and sighs*

...Are you a wizard, perchance?
Pah. Wizards. Inferior to such as me, they derive magic from external sources. I have no need of books to me, magic is like poems to a poet. I am a sorcerer; the blood of dragons flows in my veins.
What? Cars? Um, my mom has a Toyota Tacoma. It should live for a really long time, it'll quite possibly end up as my car for a while.
I don't claim to be.
@ rusvulthesaber: Draconic bloodline? (Wait- do they have bloodlines in D&D too? I never checked...)
@ Tam and Martin: So you're not in the phone book like Dresden? Shucks. Well, I suppose it does eliminate a lot of problems for you.
(No, (Er, well, there probably is in some set of obscure rules, but the only similar thing I know of is Orcish/Elvish blood for Half-Orcs and Half-Elves which causes them to be affected by the same things as their Orcish/Elven parents) but Sorcs often claim to have dragon blood as the source of their power.)

Oh, lucky! The blazer has been out of action for a while (My dad hasn't gotten his lazy booty in gear and replaced the fuel filter, even though we have the part.) and the truck recently ran out of transmission oil...We were nearly stranded.....(Which I may add is a weekly occurrence, pretty much)
I probably won't get either of them, simply because when I get my drvier's license or permit, we probably won't have them. Although, my dad says that when he gets a new mower, I get the old 'un. Yippee. Let's see.....The belt has a nasty habit of falling off, the tires go flat often, ants have taken up residence under the hood (We chase them out. But thety come back) and countless other things. AND my dad says he's gonna give the truck to my sister (IF she's still around.)....I GET A RIDING LAWN MOWER, AND SHE GETS THE TRUCK?!?!?!?!?!?!?! SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!?!?!
Is she significantly closer to driving age than you? I mean, that would make sense, even if it would still be frustrating for you.
There;s five years difference between us. I'd say so....But still! The MOWER?!?!?!?!?!
Okay, car peeps, I got a question for ya: Anyone know what this engine looks like (or what it is)?
A 1600cc twin-spark, twin-cam, V8 superpower engine.
I believe this is for a racecar, but I don't know for sure... (My character in the skit I'm in rambles off that line, adding that it has a sweet flame-painted chassis. :P)
Just looked it up- the results that showed the most were for Alfa Romeo cars. They are expensive sports cars, and often involved in racing, from what I've gathered. A chassis is the framework. (Basically a skeleton. No idea why or how you would paint one, as isn't all that visible in most cars when they are finished and suitable for driving.)
After looking at all the results, I believe that your character's line could be one of those half-made-up, toss-a-bunch-of-real-terms-in-there-so-it-sounds-impressive things. It could also very possibly be that my knowledge on these subjects is virtually nix, so I shouldn't be giving an opinion anyhow. :)
Huh! Just looked it up, and it looks pretty cool! Guess I'm an awesome racecar driver, then. ;D (Unfortunately, my character is really geeky about cars and is a total jerk, so she's not very likable. :P)

WHAT?? you like the terrible boredom and basic blah-dom of a VOLKSWAGEN??
Yes. Their gas mileage is awesome, their cars are reliable, and the new Jetta is great.
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Goes off with hair aflame and explodes.*
Fords are good too, but I still really like Volkswagens. There is nothing you can say to change the fact that their mileage is awesome.
Yes, but their just so dull! My name for them is "Basic Blah."
What would you rather have, something that looks good on the outside but is completely gutless in power, or a plain vehicle that can tow six tons at forty miles per gallon?
Well, if it is not a VW then yes.
Your bias is sickening. (JK)
But seriously, VW is a great company. Where else do you get a car that runs off diesel? ;D
;D ;D I used to like them. Until I had gained my sanity. So that means that you're treatment in the Insane Asylum is what helped me to see that VW's are terrible! You have my everlasting gratitude.

VOLKSWAGON JETTA.
*Chokes on ice cube* Sorry, my dad has a Jetta that used to have a turbo diesel engine, but when he bought it (it was used), the T (turbo) on the back had fallen off, and he shoulda seen that as a warning. It no longer is turbo. He can hardly get it up the hill to our house, and several pieces have fallen off. Not saying that all Jettas are terrible, but ours is nearly dead. And it smells horrible.

Yes, but the batteries have been known to break down 4 to 8 years after the Prius is made. All that money you save on gasoline would go to buying the new battery. Plus more.

They do. And they stink. I would have kept the Chevy Blazer.
Hey Corny, is it a Grand Caravan, or just a Caravan or something else?
Grand Caravan. It stinks, the fabric stuff on the top is coming loose in lots of places, it rides weird, and it's too. Freaking. BIG! I would have loved keeping the Blazer, but see, there was this dip stick recall, we didn't find out about it, so the dip stick rusted away and got into the transmission fluid. It wasn't wanting to shift out of first gear, and the passenger wheel was making a funny noise, and it was just about to roll over the 243100 mile mark. It was time for it to retire. . . . Plus, every time the Blazer got fixed, something went wrong in two weeks. So now my Blazer (It was going to be mine! It only broke down in the most convenient of places! ((Can you tell I have a slight attachment problem?)) And it had a freaking PERSONALITY!) is sitting in the back of a sister's husband's family friend's car place. For PARTS! Then again, he doesn't have the title. (We don't know where it is.) But it's probably too late anyways.

Yeah, that new Lambo, the Asterion is cool. Sorta reminds me of the Jalpa.
We know someone who is obsessed with having a "yellow Lamborghini". He's told exemplary stories using that as an object of illustration.
Uhhhh. . . . .Yeah, I think it's time for me to stay away from this topic. i do not speak car-and-car-enthusiast.
Oh......Well! Farewell!
I love Mercedes! Besides the fact that they are expensive. Parts.....
I like the Mercedes SLS and the GTS that should be coming out in 2016 according to Car and Driver.
Ah. Can't wait. Expensive things though.
Especially the one aforementioned. The SLS used to be Jeremy Clarkson's favorite car.
MORGAN!
Yes?
Sorry, for some ludicrous reason I thought that this was the "Post One Million Times" forum game.
My favorite car is the Bugatti. On black and orange, that is.

Which one? There's the first Veyron which was the first to break 1000 HP, but there's another one that has more. Forget what it's called.

Porsche and Mercedes are the best
LIES!
Classic Alfas are best.
No, mustangs are better.
As horses. As cars they're average.
No, they're great cars.

Well...old ones to look at, not drive in. ;D
Sleek, cool ones. And vintage ones. Also Mini Coopers (old ones, anyway, new ones are ugly).

That is sleek and cool.
No it's boxy and fat.
I like my car. I posted a picture of it in the YOUR FACE thread in SH, but it's a 1978 Mercedes.
I also like VW Bugs, the old VW buses, and small trucks. Also any older car.

Did you see the new all electric one that they will be releasing soon?

I did - I find it atrocious :P
Glad to see I am not the only one who thinks that :P

There are better cars out there. ;D Comparatively, the Mustang is a piece of trash.

What cars do you like, Jet?
Jaguars, chiefly. Some Astons. Miscellaneous vintage cars I wouldn't be able to name. Although I do also like cars like the Rolls you posted.
The old Jaguars are really nice. My friend has one and it's awesome.
Hmm, I suppose that your Aston Martin Superleggera examlple is pretty nice...
Toyota's are good! :)
Nah, bro. Those things...
I suppose they're Ok.
Haha well it's really reliable that's why I like it :D
...only a girl would have a favorite car because of reliability. ;D
Toyotas, for the most part, lack souls, and so I cannot like them. ;D

Porsche!
Any lowrider.
Porches have been voted as the most reliable cars for several years in a row.
But the engineering and thought put in to them is mind blowing. Therefore, more reliable than Toyota, with a bonus of amazing engineering
They're German cars, what do you expect? ;D
I like american muscle cars, like mustangs, challengers, stuff like that. Call 'em blocky and fat, but they're cool.
Zarooq sand racer.
Any, and all lowriders.
I had no idea this thread existed.

1931 Bugatti Royale Victoria.
I like cars because of reliability too. However, my favourite kind of car is Isuzu.
Eerrmmm, Isuzu is a manufacturer, not a type. Though, there are stylings that are indicative of manufacturers. (I.E. Jeeps.)
That Bugatti is reliable.
I know. I like Isuzu SUVs.
Oh. I like the aesthetics of Jeeps and Land Rovers, but I also enjoy the functionality of full-size SUVs...
Jeeps are kind of cool but they're really difficult to work on and not always reliable.

They'll work forever, but you'll forever work on them.
I used to have a Jeep. It wasn't real hard to work on, I don't think, but there were some things that they could have done to make it better.
What do you expect? They're owned by Chrysler.
That said, with all the dirt roads and trails around here, Jeeps are a necessity to some people.

I thought they were owned by Fiat?
They might be now, but that's because Fiat bought out Chrysler, or they partnered.
(Their Gladiator's coming out next year!)
I don't think they're too bad normally (I've never owned one so I'm not sure) but they're a pain to fit keys to if people loose the last copy. (Jeeps)
Most people use utes (otherwise known as trucks in some places) or SUVs for off road stuff in New Zealand. Jeeps aren't as common as dirt roads.
Pickups do get used a lot here as well, but most people that constantly have to go on dirt roads tend to use Jeeps.
Let me go back and edit my first post for proper grammar's sake.

I tend to go for reliable and easy to work on cars. If you want a toy, get a motorbike.
Those two don't often go hand in hand. We had a vehicle that was reliable, but the engine compartment was so small working on it was torture. And vice-versa.
We have a Honda Stepwgn, Honda Edix, Toyota Sienta and Toyota ceres, all of which are reliable and relatively easy to work on, plus they're very fuel economic.
Most of our vehicles are as well. I'm just pointing it out.
My family drives a 2007 Jeep Commander. I tied a Halloween decoration, a skeleton fish to the dashboard. The car is a beast.
Nice. What colour is it?
Silver.
Fascinating. What colour is the interior?
Dark grey.

For me (not that it matters) it depends on why I would have the car. That Bugatti I posted would be a great car for everything but offroad and city traffic. Other than that, I'd have to say full-sized SUVs, like the Suburban, Excursion, and the like.
Although, as a pseudo-perfectionist, I have to point out that these are not cars, and don't technically fit into the topic...
As far as I'm concerned, the term 'car' includes basically anything with four wheels.
I really like Audi sport cars. Hope I'll buy one of them one day. This year I'm planning to buy a new car.
Nice! Do u know what kind u want?
Audis are nice cars but they're not common enough to be easy to work on in New Zealand.
