Hi,
I'm using a teacher's guide by Novel ties to teach Redwall.  One question in section Book Two, chapters 1-7 states, "Irony refers to a situation that can be described as a strange twist of fate.  What is ironic about the death of the Vole family?"

I can't find any reference about the death of the Vole family.  Help.

Thanks. :o

Gonff the Mousethief

I don't remember the death of the vole family in the first book. I know they escaped.

I want the world of Tolkien,
The message of Lewis;
The adventure of Jacques,
And the heart of Milne.
But I want the originality of me.

I looked through those chapters and they mentioned the vole family getting back safely, but that was all.

Vilu Daskar

Never trust a smiling pirate.  :D

I can do that because I'm awesome.

"It really gets up my nose when publishers call my book another Lord of the Rings. It's my bloody book! I wrote it. And another thing, I didn't have to plunder Norse and European mythology to do it!" - Brian Jacques.

Maybe he book meant what would be the irony if the vole family died.
