Where did she come from? Was she previously affiliated with vermin?

We don't know much about her except that she met Gingivere in Mossflower Woods and they lived there - and must have raised a family there since they're the ancestors of Squire Julian.  I wonder if they were ever invited to live in Redwall Abbey.  If they were, they must have declined, and I understand why they would have wanted to live alone.  I did wonder if she was ever associated with vermin; after all, she's a wildcat.  She has to have family somewhere.  Maybe she came to Mossflower to get away from them? I don't think we'll ever know for sure, but this is a great topic to speculate on.  She and Gingivere are a couple of my favourite characters.
