I've actually considered doing that in the future. I may, but I worry that I won't be a good parent. If I did adopt a child, I'd probably wait until I'm older, wiser, and more experienced. I'd also prefer raising a child if I was married. It's a great cause though, and I honor those who do go this route :)

@Jet-kun: I've only seen the first two episodes of Gurren Lagann, but I can definitely say that Kamina is awesome. He reminds me of Dirk Strider in many ways, the main three being the fact that he has the shades, he has a katana, and he is the "older brother" of Simon. Yes, I would. I'd really like to adopt when I'm significantly older. I can't have my own, and I currently don't want to have my own anyway. I don't know if this will change later in my life. The world is overpopulated and there are many children who wish for families. I would like to adopt internationally to give girls from developing countries the opportunities that I had that they probably would not have had otherwise.

Absolutely. I almost did that before I got Abby, but unfortunately the dogs at all the shelters near us didn't fit into my parents' qualifications. (My mom wanted a female dog that didn't drool, and my dad wanted my mom to be pleased. :P) We almost got an adorable lab puppy, but the lady in front of us adopted the entire litter before we could say anything. (That kinda broke my heart when I heard that.) But it's kinda good that we didn't adopt from the shelter, 'cause Abby was only six months old when we adopted her and she had already had four previous owners. The guy we adopted her from had only had her for a week, and had already realized that he couldn't care for her. Poor thing didn't even have a name when we got her. She'd only been called "Baby", "Puppy", and "Girl" for her entire life. So, yeah, we didn't adopt from a shelter, but we did give a sad nameless puppy a forever home. :)
