Title: Round 4 Matthias 720 (Matthias the Warrior) vs. Danflorreguba (Danflower)

Redwall Abbey's famed kitchens did not have the bustle about them as usual. In fact, the only beasts present were two combatants and three judges. Several pots steamed and bubbled over various burners, their contents pervading the area with savory aromas. There were pots and pans hanging and resting on shelves, ingredients in barrels and bags, and a few tables, chairs and stools used by cooks to take well deserved breaks upon.

The air was slightly stuffy due to the cooking, making fairly harsh conditions for dueling. However, there was a fair amount of space for wielding various weapons. The kitchens , larder, and down into the cellars would be the boundaries for the round.

A voice sounded throughout the area. "Matthias the Warrior versus Danflower Reguba, begin!"

Glancing around at his surroundings and admiring Redwall's famous kitchens, Matthias' eyes finally came to rest on his opponent. Drawing his sword, he held it in a warriors salute. "Good luck my friend, and may the best beast win today." With that, holding his blade out straight, Matthias readied himself for the squirrel's first attack.

Dannflower returned the salute while observing  the incredible similarities between their blades, "Assuming that we are both fair fighters, than  nothing but the best of us could win here today." After noting Matthias' defensive posture the squirrel made his move. He lunged forward and to the right, jabbing on the lunge, and swinging the sword in a quick circle for a swipe at the mouses' midsection.

Moving swiftly, Matthias brought his blade to the side, taking the full force of the blow directly on the blade. Even though his paws went almost numb from the blow, he managed to keep a grip on his sword. Crouching down, he sliced sideways, attempting to counter his opponent's attack.

*DINGggggggg!* Danflor winced as he resisted the urge to suck his paw, "That's the second reverbaration already!" Matthias had countered easily.... This was no easy mouse, that was for sure. Dannflower took his turn on the defense, keeping close to one of the plentiful food-covered tables in case he needed a distraction... That was it!

As they battled, Matthias caught the split-second look the squirrel stole towards the large, food-laden table. Of course! That must be what his opponent was planning. Hoping that he was wrong about the squirrel's next move, Matthias made a daring decision. Holding his sword so that the flat of the blade faced outwards, he rushed forward, hoping to push his fellow combatant off balance.

The squirrel dove left, and was able to pull himself up in the middle of his rolling. Danflor placed his blade on top of the table and threw his weight against it, shoving a load of delectables at his foe. He then swung the sword sideways, both trying to split some of the food items so they would be more distracting, and trying to strike with a somewhat harder to see blade.
