Awsome Movie!!!!!!! My Favorite Song
I really liked that movie
I went to see it with my grandparents, and I loved it!!!!!! 'Let It Go' is a good one, and that's my second favourite, my first is the one that plays at the end and at the beginning (At least, it did when I saw it, at the theater)
just saw this today, I liked it.
I did like this - not Disney's best, but a more positive direction for the studio.
My favourite song might be 'Love is an Open Door'. :D
I've never seen it but I really want to because I've heard so man others talk about it.
I Know! I heard about it by a friend and at first I thought this must be dumb or something! But when I watched it I couldn't believe it was that good! Sorry about my typing I am in my office in the cellar at 1 degrees outside -20 freeeeeeeezing
I saw it, and loved it. I like -Let It Go-, -Love Is An Open Door-, and this one....
I'm going to see Frozen today!
YAY!!!!!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Have you guys seen these two covers of Let It Go??? Love them!
Did you guys know that Frozen isn't coming out until, like, March? That's CRAZY!! I saw right after THANKSGIVING!!
I still haven't seen it, but I
love the song "Let it Go".
This video, where they do each line in a different language, was my first exposure to the movie. I'd heard the name, knew it was Disney, but didn't know what it was about and had never seen a trailer for it or anything. I had no idea what she was singing about, but the song was just that amazing.
LET IT GO, LET IT GO, CANT HOLD ME BACK ANYMOOOOORE!!!
The lady who sung that song is also a broadway singer. I saw her when she played the wicked witch of the West in the play Wicked. She's amazing! So good!!!
Hilarious parody of "Let it Go" that I just found:
Bah, I ain't seen it.
Still waiting for it to come out here... that didn't stop me from buying the soundtrack from the Australian iTunes store, though! I already know all the words. Love Is an Open Door is such a fun song!
Dawnwing, that video with all the different languages is beautiful. I can't count how many times I've watched it.
Also, Captain Tammo, I can't believe you saw Idina Menzel as Elpbaha! I'm so jealous!
I'm going to tell the truth here- In general, I don't like a lot of Disney's work. I'm not sure if this is unfair bias I've been raised with or if it's actually something I have a good reason for. In general I'm not a fan of movies- I very very rarely go out to a movie theater... Or want to watch them under any circumstances. But this movie looks like something that I might actually be willing to watch- Maybe this is among one of the few movies Disney has done that I enjoy (Or maybe among one of the few movies that I've had enough exposure to to enjoy. Like I said, I'm not sure how fair my bias is.)
But yeah. The animation looks like it's in a pretty cool style, and the songs are... very... songy, yeah.
I found two rather funny versions of Let It Go:
(Loved this movie, by the way! I have MOST of the songs (as in the ones with vocal), but unfortunately I don't own the soundtrack.)
@Dawnwing: Oh my goodness! I loved that parody! :D
Those two are funny!
Oh oh I love that movie!! Did anybody notice that Rapunzel was in it?
"Let it Go" seems to be everybody's favorite song (as well as mine :D ).
That was hilarious!
It was a decent movie. The music was good. Kinda cheesy and bad storyline, and that Olaf character was to annoying for words. I dislike Disney for two reasons:
1: They take a storyline that could be epic with wars and drama and death, and throw cheesy jokes into it, killing the fun.
2: The "good guys" live and the "bad guys" live, who make a puppy shelter for lost dogs. The End. Anyone ever heard of HOMER!?!?!?!
P.s: Oh, and on the revivals, they're bad as soap oprahs. Oh, Olaf got a permanent flurry, so realistic. Oh, love magically revived her... 2and a half/5 stars.
Elsa needed to turn evil
*slaps forehead* It's called a kids movie for a reason!
But that would make it a much better movie.
Phf, folly Faiyloe dear! Our creator Brian Jacques made us so we could make decent stories for the dibbuns! I, Blaggut the hare, may say so!
I really liked the movie Frozen! :D I've memorized 'Let It Go' and can sing the whole thing (nowhere near as good as Idina Menzel, though).
And in answer to Vilu: I had thought that if they'd taken a completely different direction with the movie from the start, and Elsa was evil to begin with, it would be interesting. But not if she was good and then just turned evil. :P
A really cool "Let it Go" cover (I LOVE how the refrain sounds):
I love the Piano Guys cover! Have you watched the behind the scenes video for it???
I have!
Could that be the ice castle from Lindsey Stirling's video? ;D
If you're thinking about her Crystalize video, I checked...and it's not the same place. Looks similar, though! The Piano Guys' and Alex Boye's covers were done at the same place, though!
Yay...my public library has preordered the DVD and I'm now on the list!

The commercials made her look evil so I thought that she would turn evil and I was just dissapointed.
I LOVED IT!!! One of my favorite movies! I love the songs! I like how it was about the love between the two sisters. And Olaf was so funny!!! :) :) :)
Another good song is "Do you want to build a Snowman" :D
Really touching movie, was on the verge of crying when I watched it.
Skyblade: I love that song to! I also like both For The First Time In Forever's.
DVD comes out today in the US can't wait to get it.
Were getting it the 18th my sister bought it

Hmm, I don't remember that one. Maybe I'll go listen to it later :) (PS. I like your name, it's really pretty!)
I also like "Love is an Open Door"
I can sing 'Do You Want to Build a Snowman' and 'Let It Go' (ok, so I skip the bridge in Let It Go, but nobody cares)
Frozen finally came out here! I think we were the last country to get it. :P Whatever, I loved it! It's easily one of my favourite Disney movies. The music is great, the story is great, the characters are great...
I know I'm a little late to the party here, but I had to share. I only just saw The Desolation of Smaug too.

Awesome! I haven't seen Frozen but I know the Desolation of Smaug is amazing!
I just finished watching it. It was good, but not really sure what to say. . .
I saw it in Japanese yesterday; I was curious to see how they'd handle the jokes. There were a few things lost in translation, but overall I enjoyed it just as much in Japanese. Olaf is hilarious in any language. ;D He actually got laughs in the theatre, which is rare. Japanese audiences are veeeeery quiet. I've also never seen a cinema that packed before, except for when I went to see
Avatar a few years ago.
Here is Let it Go in Japanese:

I can sing all of "Let it Go". ;D
I finally saw Frozen just a couple of days ago. Loved it so much. :D
Kinda jealous, Japanese is such a cool language.
Since Frozen was such a rage over at my school our Spanish teacher taught us how to sing "Let it Go" in Spanish. :P
Still haven't seen it. *sigh* I am always behind.
I finally saw it this weekend on DVD. The music is great (and though I've listened to people playing "Let it Go" for months and months, I can now say that I finally get it. It's a lot more powerful in context. I guess I should've seen that coming). I also really like Sven, and the way he completely understands/agrees with the words Kristoff puts in his mouth.
And I like the switch-up on the "saved by true love" cliche with Anna's self-sacrifice being what saves her.
Spoiler alert. :P ::) Listening to Let it go without the context actually had me a little worried about the movie at first, but like you said, it made a lot more sense with the surrounding story line.
Finally saw it monday night. Pretty darn good for a guy who doesn't really like Disney.

YOU DON'T LIKE DISNEY?!?!?!?!?! THAT'S NUTS!
Ha. After they bought Star Wars? And Pixar? And did "Princess and the Frog"?
OK, it's not evil. Yet. But if they mess up Star Wars, they will have more to worry about than me calling them evil. I'm pretty sure all the Star Wars geeks like me will riot.
Well, as far as I know, George Lucas is the creative consultant on the new Star Wars movies. So maybe they'll be alright.
But what if they decided to sell princess dolls of Leia with pink sparkly outfits and stuff?! :P (Okay, I seriously doubt they'd do that, but yeah...)
Finally saw Frozen last night. It was pretty good, but Olaf was irritating and the movie would have been much better without him.
How could you say that about Olaf! He was hilarious. A bit naive, but hilarious all the same.
Also, I'm kinda surprised at everyone's freaking out about Disney's purchase of Star Wars, it's not that big of a deal, and I personally think that people are giving Disney way too hard of a time.
Saw it last Friday. It was really good!
George Lucas spent his entire life on Star Wars, made billions off of it. He did a good job (mostly) too. He wasn't going to make any sequels because they were unnecessary. Before Disney, no Star Wars fan ever said, "Hey, they should make more Star Wars movies!" The only reason Disney is making them is because they will make money. There is really no continuation of storyline. Disney is also mainly skilled in children's animation... Not live action fantasy awesomeness!
Sorry for my rant, but I had to do it.
I agree with all of that.
George Lucas sold his soul to the devil for 4 billion dollars. When he was already a multi-billionaire. Unfortunately, that earned him contempt from millions of his used-to-be admirers.

I'm actually in the same boat. I think a lot of what they do is just a bit... Silly. The main reason they bother me, though is the way they portray princesses... In the 1400s, if you were a princess, that meant you would be forced to learn a lot of mostly boring things your entire life, and then married off to some guy you've never met to seal an agreement, and then expected to have lots of children and also criticize me for my run-on sentences.
@Wylder + Norham: So you're both ready to pass judgement on something that hasn't even been released yet? Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Your acting like Disney's reign over the animation industry compromises their capability of releasing a good "Real life" film. Also, referring to Disney as the devil is quite rude, they've been working on improving their material in all categories and their progress is rather remarkable. The results are not confirmed, give them a break. Do you think George would sell the rights if he thought they were going to abuse the series?
I'm not going to hold contempt for anyone, it was a fair business transaction and if Disney messes something up, oh well, that happens. People make mistakes, it's part of our very existence. The fact that he was rich when he made the decision just goes to show that he probably thinks that Disney is a good candidate for moving the series forward.
I was exaggerating. Of course Disney's not the devil, not even remotely close. And as for lambasting the movies before they come out, I already gave my reasons.
Back to the topic at hand.
Actually, I think Frozen has been growing on me. I find myself walking around humming "Do You Want To Build a Snow Man?" and playing "Let It Go" on my flute in band.
Hey look! A Star Wars discussion (http://redwallabbey.com/forum/index.php?topic=2813.0) thread! ;)
Back to Frozen, I actually surprised myself by really liking Olaf. Usually I don't like sidekick comic-relief characters, but he actually made me laugh this time. I remember seeing the first trailer they released aaaages ago with Olaf and Sven and I thought the movie would be terrible based on that, but then I actually saw it and Olaf turned out to be hilarious. To me, that is. Like that part where he says, "I don't have a skull. Or bones." I don't know why that was so funny to me.
On an interesting translation note, having a "think skull" translates to having a head made from rocks in Japanese, so instead of Olaf saying the bones line he says, "Eh? Is your skull
really made of rocks?" ;D

Okay, now I've got this hilarious mental image of you singing 'Let It Go' as dramatically as the girl who did the Google Translate version. I don't know why that seems funny. :P
I watched part of that vid. Don't remember how much drama she sang with, but if she sang with a lot, you probably wouldn't be far off. ::) More "passion" esque than dramatic most likely, but still not far off. If I sing, I've gotta be doing something else. ;)

Woah. Big monitor. Mine is only 1366x768. It is a laptop, though.
I haven't actually seen frozen- In general, I'm not a fan of most Disney movies. Not a huge fan of the way their stories are modified/written, or how they're presented. But that's just me.
That being said, Frozen seems like it might actually be something I would enjoy watching.
1920x1080 is resolution, my laptop screen is LCD and carries a lot of detail. Screen size is measured in inches diagonally (17.something is the standard for laptops).

Ugh, I don't like Frozen much. The plotline was...non-existent, the songs weren't that great and they ruin the Andersen with a weird story...and a talking snowman.
I liked the movie when I first saw it IN DECEMBER.
However, it's a bit overrated; I liked other Disney movies better. And the hype over it, the way people constantly talked about it and sang it....well, that sort of ruined it for me. I got tired of it to the point that when I hear the song Let It Go, I grab for my headphones as quickly as possible.
I'm not saying the songs or the movie are bad, I'm just rather annoyed by the whole craze, which is only just dying down after over six months. I really don't mind the movie itself.
I actually really like the parodies of the songs- that way, I can confuse people when they try to sing it ;D And I have multiple parodies that I've written to Do You Wanna Build A Snowman, simply because I enjoy writing them.
When I rewatched the movie, I started noticing things and pointing them out- flaws, questions, funny things.
For example, where the heck did Elsa's powers come from? Was she cursed? In that case, who would curse a child for no apparent reason? Was it passed down in the family? But then, why would they have no knowledge of how to deal with it? A little backstory there would be nice.
And I found it sort of amusing that in The First Time In Forever, Ana says, "there'll be actual, real, live people" right after walking past all these servants? So are the servants not actual, real, live people? What are they, robots? Seriously, did the producers not notice that, or did they think no one else would?
Sorry for that massive wall of text..if anyone bothered to read that, congratulations! *claps*
I read it :D

Okay, just watched this again, and it may just be the nerd in me, but... Did it bother anyone else that the people in it are Norwegian, but all the clothes and architecture and customs are Russian (King? No... Tsar)?
Well, most every fairy tale world is based on some culture or another, but it's usually altered based on the perspective of the writer. I didn't see the film, but I've listened to the songs, saw a few Youtube clips, and read the script, and it seemed okay to me.
I agree that the songs really get stuck in your head. I'm not the best acquainted with Disney films, but I'm not sure that any of their other works have been loaded with as consistently great of a soundtrack as this one since The Lion King. It's funny that "Let It Go" seems to have gotten the notoriety. I don't think that's even the best one; "Love is an Open Door" is the outright catchiest one that I think I've heard. 'DYWTBAS' is really memorable, too, just because it's really such a sad song.
I thought the story was good, for the most part. Anna's such a sweetheart, and I absolutely love the sibling relationship and the twist at the end of the story, where the villain is revealed. The one thing that might have been better explained is why Elsa was so isolated from her sister for over ten years. I mean, they were apart for longer than they'd been together before the accident. That doesn't seem healthy.
The story right now seems to imply that this was initiated by her parents, who wanted to conceal her powers from the rest of the world. However, cutting off all contact whatsoever seems to border on paranoid, and in the real world, would be considered abusive. The only thing that makes sense is that they only intended to limit it temporarily, at first, while things got settled, but that Elsa's powers consistently involuntarily flared up when she saw or was asked to interact with her sister. I suppose that Elsa was traumatized by her sister's near-death experience, and since her loss of control is primarily brought on by her negative emotions, it's possible that seeing Anna could remind her of that and trigger an episode. If that was a constant risk, it would be a satisfactory reason to try to keep them apart.
Even so, though, I'm not sure why they wouldn't tell Anna about it at some point, perhaps when she was a teenager. As it was, she didn't find out until after their parents died, and presumably never would have if Elsa hadn't lost control at the coronation party. I think that was a mistake; it seems that it would've helped both of them a lot to clue her in at some point. Anna by knowing that Elsa still loved her, and just wanted to protect her from that danger; Elsa by knowing that she isn't hurting Anna by keeping her at a distance. When Elsa is relaxed and at peace, she seems to control her ability very well. The psychological stress of keeping them separated probably exacerbated her problems.
Other than that, I liked almost everything about it. Compromises have to be made when you're adapting classic fairy tales for film, but I think the ones that were made were for the good of the story. All in all, I think it's a great effort by Disney.

I saw the first part of Frozen in school today and I'm sorry to be a naysayer but it definitely did not live up to the hype it received. It was by no means a bad movie but it was not a good one either, the animation is excellent, the songs are amazingly well sung but the storyline is mediocre and the film is very halting and jerky. What I mean by that is that the transitions are poorly done, everything moves along far too quickly and the music of the songs does not blend with the music that was on before (this is especially notable with Let it go)

I do think I agree with you. Though I do enjoy the film, its not as amazing as some people are making it out to be. I personally prefer Tangled, which was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Frozen.
I just think it's funny that everyone loved it SO MUCH, so they watched it a zillion times and now they're all sick of it. Whereas I only saw it twice ever, so I'm still willing to watch it again. No offence to ANY of you guys, but Frozen in Britain is considered really sad (or BANES&wilts, anyway). Anyone who likes Frozen gets MASSIVELY bullied.
Oh, and by the way, my opinion is that frozen is the most pathetic film ever made.

That's rather hyperbolic, assuming that by 'pathetic' you mean 'miserably inadequate'. It isn't even close to being the worst
Disney film, much less the worst of any film ever. I suppose a lot depends on the eye of the beholder, but it doesn't depend
that much -- the most pathetic film ever made would not have been a blockbuster, gotten the highest gross profits of any animated film ever, received positive worldwide attention, or picked up an 89% rating at Rotten Tomato, and 7.8 stars at IMDb.
If by 'pathetic' you mean 'arousing pity, especially through vulnerability or sadness', while it is successful in that regard, there's too much comedy to really make it as tragic as it might have been. Plus, it has a happy ending. If you know that all of the protagonists end up living happily ever after, that pretty much negates any bad stuff that might've happened before then.

It's overrated and cliché, but I wouldn't go as far as saying it's 'pathetic'.

Do you live in BANES, then?
I'm not altogether sure what that is
Bath And North East Sonerset.
Am I right or am I right?
Nope, nowhere near there
I arrest my case.
Now, now, no reason to be ashamed of frozen. I'm almost 18 and I think it was a spectacular movie. It reminded me a lot of my childhood, as I grew up to disney movies like The Lion King. Let it Go was catchy and enormously popular. Any of the bullies you mentioned that say otherwise can check out the youtube video, which has more views and likes than any of them will ever have on any and all of the videos they make combined. I'm not one of those hyper fans, but that doesn't mean I don't think it was a solid 9.5/10 movie in my eyes. Sometimes you need a break from the R rated action movies, and I think a good disney movie that is actually uplifting (contrary to most movies these days) is a great way to get that break.

You took the words out of my mouth (Or my fingers.), Skar. I do like Frozen, and, yes, there ARE some cliché bits in there, but there's a lot of original ideas, too.
QuoteAs I clearly explained, I said that its MY OPINION.
Okay, we respect that. But, to me (I'm sorry for saying so if it offends you), you're bashing Frozen pretty hard, and maybe because you think that we would bully you? (Trust me, that's not the case. I would know, having posted a Twilight topic.)
I'm holding back my tongue on that subject. . .
Hm. I have seen Frozen now. It was a pretty good movie.
Though I think the king and queen's deaths were unnecessary. I think it would have been much more interesting and original (Disney seems to have a habit of killing parents) to have Arendelle be a barony (or something) and the king is ill, forcing the baron to act as refer because he's next in line.
I found it interesting that Elsa was kind of both a hero and an antihero- she wanted to be the former, but lost control and became the latter.
Yay. Now I'm not the only person who hasn't seen Frozen.
(I don't really see what all the fuss was about, Frozen was ridiculously popular for such a long time. Good movie, but I don't think it's THAT good.)
I never saw the movie, but it's no surprise the parents died :P Mark my words, they're going to find a way to get the classic Disney themes into those new Star Wars movies...
Yes, Disney has a bad habit of killing parents. Gotta agree with you there, Rus. *Doesn't have much else to say on the subject*

Yeah, Rock. Today.

MUST OBLITERATE SIL!!!!
(Yes, I did just create a nickname.) 8)
So, I had a friend who told me I should see this thing, and so I did.
I think you should all go and enjoy Frozen Trailer: Remade.
They somehow made it look like Frozen was a horror movie. ;D
I've seen that video, it's awesome
Do you have a youtube link?
Saw it - Awesome! ;D

:/ I loved th movie at first, but nw it's the bane of my existence
It's a fine movie, but it came out a year ago. And people are still acting like it is current. It IS current! Because people are of average intelligence! (I can't say 'people are stupid,' because that's factually incorrect. 'Of average intelligence' is the best I can do.)
"People are idiots" is correct, though.
'Idiot' means 'of low intellect.' On average, humans have average intelligence by definition. 'People are stupid' in reference to a specific group, 'these people are stupid' can make perfect sense. But as a general statement, it is fundamentally incorrect.
Individuals can be smart, but people in a group are idiots. :P
But that's exactly the point. Sure, some groups are stupid. But if you generalize as much as you're generalizing, unless I've misinterpreted you, you are wrong. People on average are of average intelligence by definition, so if you're saying that the general population is of lower than average intelligence, you are objectively incorrect. :P
Heard of responsibility distribution? In a large gathering people just assume that "someone else" will take care of a situation: Not smart.
Often people do not want to be seen as "different" so they do what everyone else is doing when they are in a group.
Imagine a group of people as sheep: When one sheep starts going one way, they all tend to. This is often the case of people as well.
Surprisingly, in contrast to popular opinion, I didn't enjoy Frozeb. I didn't hate it, it just wasn't as good as people were saying it was. I thought it was going to be the best movie ever, but I was actually disappointed by it. Half the time, I wasn't sure why anyone was doing anything. Yeah she had to find her sister, but I never felt a real need for her to come back. I dunno, maybe I wasn't paying attention enough to detail.
And frankly, I enjoyed the music, but because it was so overplayed for the longest time, I've come to loath it. The music was good, but not nearly as good as how it was socially rated.
Indeed.
The more boys, the less brains, as my dad always says. ;D
I can't tell if I'm being agreed with or disagreed with here...
I just felt like putting in a random quote.
Plus, I really hate this now. I've had enough Frozen for my life, plus 100 years.
A non-random and statistically incorrect quote. One that also seems to be the inverse of what you intended to say. :P

Technically, it was last March, dear.
It was released in theaters November 2013.
I've seen Frozen once, and thought it was okay. But I haven't suffered from Frozen overload. :P
Frozen is, quite frankly, in the icebox

But technically - most people saw it in the theaters are started freaking out about it.
I know, I just wanted to point that out. *Annoyed look crosses face*
Something I found interesting
I honestly used to be really tired of Frozen (after my little sister got it for her birthday and she watched it like twice a day): but now I'm not so "annoyed" by it. Though I still say that it is really overrated: sure, it's better than other Disney movies like Tangled (I honestly don't like Tangled), but I feel that it got more attention than it deserved.
My mom hates, HATES, HATES Frozen! But I love it. I have only watched it up to when they first meet Marshmallow, but it's one of my favorite movies ever.
Wow- what a thread resurrection.
What did you think of Frozen 2?
Honestly, I remember thinking Frozen was overhyped, but still enjoyed it. Frozen II was pretty good, imo.
My baby sister just saw Frozen, and now she's addicted.
Someone bought her Frozen training pants.
If she doesn't know what to talk about, she just names characters from the movie.
She is two. :giggle:

LOL cute
Very cute indeed.
Viewed objectively, Frozen isn't a bad movie. In fact, it's probably a pretty decent movie, bordering on good. It's a decent plot, the characters aren't bad, there are some amusing bits and some sad bits. The climax is good.
However, I strongly dislike it. I'm not even entirely sure why, but it just... ugh. I just can't let myself enjoy it.
Same
Haven't seen the second one yet, but I enjoyed the first.
Though I think the "bad guy" in the first one was kind of unnecessary - they had a good enough plot in terms of subverting "normal" fairy tale outcomes. That character just became a jerk for no particular reason than to have a bit of drama near the end.
^ Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the villain reveal.
Frozen's fine. A tad overhyped. The sequel isn't bad, but on balance the original is better!

Same here.
I think the second one is absolutely terrible to watch, I could barely finish it.
(I watch the first movie and the shorts with my sister, I try my hardest to keep her from realizing that there is a second one)
I don't like Frozen. It doesn't have any point at the end.
Only ever seen the first one myself

So question, who here has actually watched Frozen 2? I feel this may have been asked already though...
I
I said on the previous page. ;D
It was fine; fairly enjoyable but a little random and rushed in some places. The ending was a tad anticlimactic.
