Thrax Blueblade is a mongoose. Brief version of his backstory:
Spoiler
He grew up in a far away land, got lost at sea, and eventually wound up on the coast south of Salamandastron. Originally he fell in with a drifting pack of vermin where he quickly gained their respect with his lightning fast reflexes, skill at dagger throwing, and a gift for strategy. But he didn't like the vermin lifestyle. He left the vermin and struck out on his own, not yet sure what to do with his new life in Mossflower...

I may expand this section in the future.
Thanks for reading. If you have any questions or comments, or specific drawing challenges you are struggling with, don't hesitate to let me know!
Wow; that really has a lot of symbolism in it. It shows how Redwall did withstand the ravages of time, but all the same, time passes on with its advancements, sciences, and the fading of the past. Even without the detail found in other works, it is still a piece of art. Well done sir.
On another note, welcome to the forum, pacificmaelstrom! If you make a post in the Introduction Topic in the Front Lawns, the other members will be able to more properly greet you.
Thanks for the compliments :)
And thank you for the invitation, Ill go do that now.
That's amazing. The hue of the artwork makes it look like a cool flashback! Please do more, this really jogs my imagination.
Thanks Sagetip! Just put up a new picture... now to add it to my profile
Very nice, Pacific.
Say, if you like mongooses, Captain Tammo wrote a fan fiction with a mongoose in it.
Oh cool, ill see if I can find it.
Those are both so cool! I love the story the first drawing tells, and the details in the portrait are awesome. ;D
Thanks Rainshadow :)
For some reason, only I can't see your beautiful art! :P But I like the name and idea of Thrax Blueblade, and I like your profile pic as well.

That is really good. I'm not lieing (I never try to lie, anyway). I like your art a lot.
Glad you were able to see it Skyblade, and thanks! :)
AWESOME! Your art is stunning. Wow.
Thanks Lord Ashenwyte! :)
Wow! That's really cool! The color is amazing!!! :)
Thanks! I draw and color digitally using a wacom pen tablet and Autodesk sketchbook.

I LOVE THAT PICTURE! It tells me that Redwall never fell, and that while creatures may not live there anymore, it's gates are still open to those who pass by. It tells me that there came a time where creatures didn't have to live behind walls anymore, and that while the world around Mossflower evolved with time, good beasts kept Redwall just the way it is :)
Very poetically stated Captain Tammo. Thats exactly the kind of sentiment I hoped to convey :)

Hi everyone. Art below. Tutorials below that.
Requests: Depending on how many requests there are I may or may not get through them, but I will do the first 3 for sure. For now, only one per person. Tell me any details you want included, (Animal, visual characteristics, clothes, weapons, setting and surroundings.) the rest I will make up. I can do humans as well as animals.

(Note: True, mongooses are not native to Britain, but there are wild Mongooses in the UK, they were originally escaped pets, brought from the British colony of India.)
HOW TO DRAW
As my mother is an art teacher, I grew up with bit of an advantage when it comes to drawing. Even still, I am always practicing and looking to improve.
Many of you are interested in learning to draw better, and while there are many tutorials out there, I thought I would share my personal methods and insights for anyone who is interested.

I would personally recommend taking an art class; while I didn't learn much from it, it was a good review of techniques, and I got some awesome drawing pencils that improved my shading and stuff.
I would like to take a digital art class sometime, i think.

This is all really good, thanks for posting it!
Since I see you have a request spot open, would you mind do this? I hope I gave enought detail. Thanks! I know it will look good!
Name: Marshall Scottsworth
Age:27
Species: Fox (good)
Gender: Male
Weapon: A Huge iron axe, a small dagger, and a long yew bow
Apperence: He has Blue fur. He wheres a Racoon Hat. Has bright Blue eyes and wheres a torn up Blue and Black Tunic. Has a quiver full of arrows. Also, he has no tail, only a stub.
Peronality: Very friendly. Grew up at Redwall, so he knows the place. Has a slight Scottish accent at times. Can fight very well, and is an expert travaler.
Yay, a request!
Ok Gnoff, I added you to the que and started with some sketches. Take a look at this picture and tell me your thoughts, and what you like best. Also, is that the right kind of hat?
See it big: http://i.imgur.com/hXnmQGX.png
Face /orientation
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6?
Weapons:
A or B; C, D or E
Pose:
W (fierce pose), X (Attacking), Y (Relaxed), Z (Head shot), or Other (Describe)
Any other details:
Kilt?
Facial expression?
I've got a request for you.
Name: Lieutenant Erich
Species: white ermine
Age: 25 (in human years)
Appearance: Erich is a typical ermine, though slightly taller than normal. He wears the blue cloak of an officer, and has a steel chestplate. He carries a steel saber (usually in a scabbard when he's not fighting), and a spear.
Face: 3
Weapons: A. D
Pose: y
A kilt would be cool if you could do it. And for expressions, a simple smile. Thanks! Oh, and your style of asking is very cool. Keep up the good work!
Ok Izeroth, you are on the list! Stay tuned for preliminary sketches.
Thanks Gnoff. What about the hat? ???
Ill let you know if I have any more questions, and Ill keep you posted on my progress. Although this was quick, If I don't get it done tomorrow it may be a little while. :)
Wow. I'm very impressed! Great job!
Could I request?
Sure. I'm going to take one more for now.
Ok :)
Name: Stashi
Age: young adult
Species: fox
Appearance: had several scars on her face, barely missing her eyes. Bright green eyes, white fur. Is covered in black, brown, grey, and tan speckles, has brown paws, tail tip, and ears. (If you could, maybe she has wings. White with the same color speckles and chocolatey brown on the bottom half of the pinion feathers.)
Clothes/armor: a black tunic and armband made of black feathers. (Of she doesn't have wings, then a dark, pine green cloak)
Weapons: two daggers
Ok Eulaliaaa!, you're in.
Wings? I *can* do wings, no problem, but Im really curious as to how she got them. Are these mechanical wings, or more like angel wings?
Angel wings, covered in feathers. I'm not sure how she got them, I made a roleplay called The War for an Abbey' s Ruins, it sort of explains there. And I'm just crazy about the idea of having wings (I'm weird, I know). :)
Just finished reading the roll play so far. That is a great crossover idea! So she is a genetic experiment or something, that makes sense.
Questions:
I am guessing the animals are human sized, correct?
I love scifi, so I might do a few other sketches related to TWFAAR if you dont mind.
That would be awesome. And yes, the animals are human sized.
Sorry, the hat you Drew is correct.
Doing a study of the winged fox idea. Angel wings themselves are not physiologically possible because there is no place for flight muscles (I can do it anyway if you want) but here is what a more realistic take would look like, since this is more sci-fi themed RP.

The reflective hull was a bit challenging... didn't quite come out right, but i tried.
I'm really enjoying your art, Pacific! Great job on all your pieces!
Thanks Russano! :)
Could you draw both a helmeted and un-helmeted version of Erich? I was thinking the helmet might be along the lines of this: (but without the lower part)

Ill see what I can do about a helmet. Here is my sketches so far.
If you have any comments, let me know.

I quite like how you did his chestplate in 4, although I was thinking maybe without a symbol engraved on the chestplate, and with no cape sticking up in the back. Number 7 is very nice, although I was thinking maybe a saber without a hand(paw?)-guard. Sorry that I'm so particular. :P

Sorry that I'm so particular. :P
That's why I do this... better now than after I've colored and detailed everything :P
Any other details:
Pose?
Scenery?
Which of the heads did you like the most (If any)?
Facial expression?
Your art is so amazing!! I love your detailed drawing tutorials, They really help! I have recently fallen off of a 10-ish foot slide and broken my right arm (I am right-handed) So I realize how much free time I have now since I can't do any of my sports I do, I also can't go biking/Hiking and stuff like that. I'm not even allowed to run :-\. But I have read your tutorials thoroughly and decided to try drawing. Now you may be wondering why a right-handed guy that broke his right hand is trying to draw left-handed, but I am a bit ambidextrous (Only a very small amount, I can't write or anything :P). So my drawing are very messy, but they turned out acceptable for drawing with my left hand due to your lessons ;). I'll see if I can upload them and get some feedback from you! ;D. Thanks!
That's great to hear! I'd be happy to take a look.
And get well soon! :)

Which of the heads did you like the most (If any)?
Facial expression?
Pose: A stiff, sort of "at attention" pose
Scenery: On a castle wall?
Head: #4
Facial expression: A neutral, serious expression
Other: Carrying a spear (small-pointed), with his saber in its scabbard.
Ok, thanks!
I like how you drew Ashenlance! :) One thing though, he was wearing a red mens kimono.
Thanks. Sorry aboit that, that last sketch was quite rushed and I made some guesses. I really butchered the kestrel :P. Maybe at some point ill polish it up.
Y'are too good for me! You've got an excellent talent. I really enjoy your work.
Thanks Wylder :)
Are requests still closed?
Yes. I got reall busy and have been swamped. Havent had time to finish the first ones yet.
Well, I should say that I have had time technically, but I have been working on other projects and haven't felt inspired to give them the attention they deserve so I have been putting them off. I'll get around to it eventually, probably no later than the end of the semester.
Cool :P
Requests are on hold indefinitely. Sorry, but I no longer can complete them and don't know when I will be able to.

I hope you're doing okay!! :-\
Don't worry about completeting mine. I know life gets in the way, so please try to take it easy and relax.
Thanks :)
