Pinch form hand-building:Forming, footing and decorating; glaze application; Chapter 1 vocab activity; update notebook

Student will be able to understand What is clay, glaze and firing?



Student will be able to gather supplies and build a damp box.



Student will begin the pinch hand-building methods as per the demonstration.(Forming and Footing with decorations added).



Student will add decorative techniques as demonstrated(see pinch form requirements) on both creamstone and brownstone.



Student will be able to glaze their fired bisque forms adding color or clear coating to the surface as per the demonstration and posted procedures for glazing ware.



Activity
Student will take notes on What is clay, glaze and firing.

Student will gather supplies and create a damp box

Student will begin the pinch method of hand-building as per the demonstration.

Student will add a footing to their pinch forms and begin the decoration application as per the demonstration. 

Student will fire to bisque and begin the glazing process as per the demonstration for glazing procedure and final firing on their pinch bowls project
